    Any RAMPS 1.4 is a drop-in replacement.
Be warned that as cheap as those boards are, you are going to have a 40% chance (or more) of getting a bad one :)
Buy Prime and if it is bad they will take care of it.

Also DO NOT forget to install all of the jumpers under the stepper driver boards or you will think it is a bad one ;)

Cool thanks. Also I’ve been hearing about relays and MOSFET boards for the bed. Which should I go fire and what would you recommend?

That is an old thread because this has been an issue for many years :)
I would avoid the solid-state relays since there are way too many fake ones out there -- use the MOSFET board or a decent automotive (12vdc) relay

Which do you prefer? I trust your judgement. There is an automotive place on my way home

The auto relays are darn near indestructible :) and relatively cheap. You need to wire the 12v output from the RAMPS that normally goes to the bed heater so that it drives the coil of the relay and then route one leg of the power to the bed heater through the relay contacts.

Got it. Wasn’t at my autozone, but I found a sweet electronics place at the mall. Heck they even had RAMPS. Wish I did order mine from amazon now [IMG]

    :)
Just wire the one bed power line through the N/O contacts on that thing and you should be fine.

I saw that the relay from the link has only 4 pins while mine has 5. Did he clip the middle one off, if so should I just ignore the middle connection on mine?

I can't see the pins on yours, but the diagram on the front shows a coil (the part that goes to the RAMPS heater output) and then a set of double pole, single throw contacts. That means there is a common and then a Normally Open and a Normally Closed contact. You want to ignore the NC contact and use the COMMON and NO to route one of the bed power lines through (the other is ground and does not need to go through the relay). the other end of that power to the bed that goes through the realy goes directly to the + power output of the power supply.

The pins were similar to that amazon link you sent me. Here is a pic I found online that matches[IMG]

That is the way a standard car 12v relay is wired to the pins. Note the numbers.
Here is the electrical diagram (again -- note the numbers -- you can ignore the labels for what they connect to in a car)
    sku_289783_1.jpg

You want the wire coming from the ramps to go to 86 and 85 goes to ground.
Then hook one of the bed power lines to ground as well (on the power supply output) and the other to 87 (NOT 87a!) and then the last wire goes from 30 to the +12v coming directly from the power supply.

Just pay attention to the wire numbers/pins and the description I left -- you will be fine :)
You can test it by wiring the two RAMPS wires up first (not the bed heat wires) and see if turning the bed heater on/off makes it "click" and if so then wire up the bed heater wires.

Only 4 wires total -- you can handle it :)

Provided I don’t shock myself. Lol. Did that several times when I was making a stun gun out of a disposable camera as a kid.
