    Hey Guys,
    My extruder stepper is slipping.
Its has markings of 42HS40-1704JA (1066mm)
I cannot find the JA type on 42HS40-1704A
Which replacement stepper can I use? Is there any others that will work as a drop in replacement?
    Thanks

any stepper that is close to the same physical size will work as long as it is 200 reps/rev

I have used the generic ones from Amazon no issues, but some versions of the printer have slightly smaller room for the extruder stepper to mount and you will need to check yours.

I was able to use these on all of my steppers: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QEXSCE8/ none of them were sized differently.

Apparently on some models the stepper for the extruder was smaller and they did not leave enough room for a larger one to swap in so -- measure yours :)

I grabbed this stepper but a little confused about what connections go to what pins.
Attached is a picture of my current cable and diagram of the new stepper. Any ideas on working this out?

Nema-17 steppers come in a few flavors of connectors.
The Robo uses standard 4-wire stepper plugs. Some use 6-wire.

The wire colors should match up if you wanted to splice in your own connector.
