Bad Cura profile but I do not know what is causing the problem

    Attached is a Cura 3MF file. I printed it out and the slicer had interpreted incorrectly, which I could not easily see in cura after slicing. I the turned the part upright and sliced again. Here the first layer is obviously all screwed up. I first tried Cura 4.71 then backed down to Cura 4.5 same results. I then when back to 4.71 and sliced with a standard profile and it did it correctly.

    I do not know how a profile can screw up a slicer, but this one did.

    There are a few Cura users on here so hopefully someone can chime in.

    If the smart guys are not using Cura, I want to know what they are using. I would also like a better slicer.

    The only slicer I use for FDM for the past 6 years is Simplify3D.
    It has a unique (multi) process model that allows you do extremely simple or extremely complicated slicing.

    I just checked the Simplify3D website. Looks like they have expanded the software to include Linux. Last time I looked, I remember it being for Windows or Mac.

    Nice! I use Linux, but not as heavily as Windows. Since you get two machine licenses that is handy.
