Aug 29, 2015 4:37 AM - Bill Monroe: good morning
    Aug 29, 2015 4:56 AM - jbigler1986: Morning
Aug 29, 2015 4:56 AM - jbigler1986: I was up at 2am for 2 hours getting more evidence together. Lol
    Aug 29, 2015 5:04 AM - jbigler1986: Still printing parts for robo?
Aug 29, 2015 5:08 AM - Bill Monroe: hey jb
Aug 29, 2015 5:08 AM - Bill Monroe: yup.. i was about to get another one ready to run
Aug 29, 2015 5:17 AM - jbigler1986: How many have you done so far?
    Aug 29, 2015 5:18 AM - Bill Monroe: 5 big ones..
Aug 29, 2015 5:18 AM - Bill Monroe: pretty mush maxed-out the machine on 2 of them
Aug 29, 2015 5:18 AM - Bill Monroe: I've got two now that I might be able to fit at the same time
Aug 29, 2015 5:19 AM - Bill Monroe: wierd though, I've asked harry twice to tell me which way is up and he answered
Aug 29, 2015 5:19 AM - Bill Monroe: he didnt answer
    Aug 29, 2015 5:22 AM - jbigler1986: That is weird
Aug 29, 2015 5:23 AM - Bill Monroe: he must be super busy
Aug 29, 2015 5:24 AM - jbigler1986: He probably doesnt know honestly. They need to send you guys a picture of the full model and show you which piece you are printing
Aug 29, 2015 5:24 AM - Bill Monroe: or maybe Halo 6 just came out :)
Aug 29, 2015 5:24 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, asked for that too but no response
Aug 29, 2015 5:27 AM - jbigler1986: Yeah he doesnt know as much stuff as he makes it out
Aug 29, 2015 5:27 AM - jbigler1986: He does what he can but he just doesnt know enough
    Aug 29, 2015 5:28 AM - Bill Monroe: I just dont know
Aug 29, 2015 5:29 AM - jbigler1986: He is just an intern at robo
    Aug 29, 2015 5:30 AM - Bill Monroe: I didnt know that
    Aug 29, 2015 5:32 AM - jbigler1986: Now you do. :D
    Aug 29, 2015 5:32 AM - Bill Monroe: I do :p
Aug 29, 2015 5:32 AM - jbigler1986: Not looking forward to moving stuff today. At least its not a ton of stuff
Aug 29, 2015 5:34 AM - Bill Monroe: S3D needs a "sit flat" option in the placement window
Aug 29, 2015 5:38 AM - Bill Monroe: this piece is 1.26 degrees angle from the model's plane
Aug 29, 2015 5:39 AM - Bill Monroe: I'll bet most wouldnt have noticed it, and have been frustrated trying to print a decent first layer
Aug 29, 2015 5:42 AM - jbigler1986: Arrange button will do that wont it?
    Aug 29, 2015 5:43 AM - Bill Monroe: no
    Aug 29, 2015 5:45 AM - jbigler1986: Well nevermind then
Aug 29, 2015 5:45 AM - Bill Monroe: stratasys will do it
Aug 29, 2015 5:47 AM - Mike Glass: use center and arrage it puts it flat.
    Aug 29, 2015 5:48 AM - Bill Monroe: it doesnt :)
Aug 29, 2015 5:48 AM - Mike Glass: yep it does
Aug 29, 2015 5:48 AM - Bill Monroe: had to rotate around the x axis 1.24
Aug 29, 2015 5:48 AM - Mike Glass: hmm works on mine
Aug 29, 2015 5:49 AM - Bill Monroe: ok, let me send you the stl.. it's wierd but true
Aug 29, 2015 5:49 AM - Bill Monroe: it places it acording to the model's planes, but this one has the face 1.24 degress from the plane
Aug 29, 2015 5:50 AM - Mike Glass: i know if you manually turn an item then try to place it wont
Aug 29, 2015 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: i was about to slice it when I noticed it
Aug 29, 2015 5:50 AM - Mike Glass: hmm wonder if cura will do it then.
    Aug 29, 2015 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: i dunno.. i deinstalled it
Aug 29, 2015 5:51 AM - Bill Monroe: Strats asks you to select a face, then it places it on the table... S3D shoudl have that feature
Aug 29, 2015 5:51 AM - Mike Glass: that would be cool
Aug 29, 2015 5:52 AM - Mike Glass: probably patented
Aug 29, 2015 5:58 AM - Bill Monroe: oh mike.. yes I'm still selling the Neo
Aug 29, 2015 6:07 AM - Bill Monroe: ok.. the model needs xrotation 1.45 and y rotation -.1 to sit flat
    Aug 29, 2015 7:36 AM - PeterkSharma: Morning
    Aug 29, 2015 7:59 AM - Mike Glass: Peter
Aug 29, 2015 8:00 AM - Bill Monroe: Back. Power failure in progress.
Aug 29, 2015 8:04 AM - Bill Monroe: Solar array is doing its thing. Generator kicked on. air conditioners are really making them work :)
Aug 29, 2015 8:06 AM - Mike Glass: I had to run to the Vets office
Aug 29, 2015 8:07 AM - Bill Monroe: Everything ok?
Aug 29, 2015 8:08 AM - Mike Glass: we had our almost 10 year old dane put down.
    Aug 29, 2015 8:09 AM - Bill Monroe: Oh. I'm so sorry
Aug 29, 2015 8:09 AM - Mike Glass: was hard on everyone, but least he isnt in pain anymore.
    Aug 29, 2015 8:10 AM - Bill Monroe: I hate those days.
Aug 29, 2015 8:11 AM - Mike Glass: funny one of the cats curled up with him last night, has never done that, must of known.
Aug 29, 2015 8:11 AM - Bill Monroe: I've got two right now that are the best dogs I've ever had or known. Really dreading those days coming
Aug 29, 2015 8:15 AM - Bill Monroe: A cat would never curl up with one of my dogs
Aug 29, 2015 8:17 AM - Mike Glass: they probably chase cats away..lol
Aug 29, 2015 8:17 AM - PeterkSharma: My girlfriend and I have been talking about dogs a lot
Aug 29, 2015 8:18 AM - PeterkSharma: Why kinds dogs do you have?
Aug 29, 2015 8:18 AM - Bill Monroe: Naw. One is the same size as a cat. The other likes everything
Aug 29, 2015 8:19 AM - Bill Monroe: One is a Porkie. Pomeranian Yorkshire terrier mix. The other is a purebred golden retriever
Aug 29, 2015 8:20 AM - Bill Monroe: Porkies are such a common mix they actually have recognition
Aug 29, 2015 8:21 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah i just googled those, I've seen a lot of those around seattle
Aug 29, 2015 8:21 AM - Bill Monroe: I got her from a shelter. Didn't know what she was but damn the dog is brilliant and as lovable as the come
Aug 29, 2015 8:23 AM - PeterkSharma: My girlfriend has a cockerspaniel since she was a kid. but the past 5 years the dog really hasnt gotten to run around a whole lot. Normally the joints on that breed have a hard time keeping up. She's 14 def and loving life. didnt get the miles of wear and tear
    Aug 29, 2015 8:23 AM - PeterkSharma: maybe she's 16
Aug 29, 2015 8:23 AM - PeterkSharma: either or she's reaally outlived any expectation by a long shit
    Aug 29, 2015 8:23 AM - PeterkSharma: shot
Aug 29, 2015 8:24 AM - Bill Monroe: 2.0 is severely attached to that porkie
Aug 29, 2015 8:24 AM - Bill Monroe: Food is better now. Dogs are living longer
Aug 29, 2015 8:25 AM - PeterkSharma: i guess i never have thought of it that way
Aug 29, 2015 8:25 AM - Mike Glass: That is if you buy good food, there is alot of shit food out there.
Aug 29, 2015 8:25 AM - Bill Monroe: Hell. 2.0 even makes chicken jerked for them both
    Aug 29, 2015 8:26 AM - Bill Monroe: Jerky
Aug 29, 2015 8:27 AM - Bill Monroe: Ever since that Chinese pet treat fiasco
Aug 29, 2015 8:30 AM - Mike Glass: wasnt that killing pets left and right?
Aug 29, 2015 8:32 AM - Bill Monroe: Ya. Bad stuff being used for preservatives
Aug 29, 2015 8:33 AM - Bill Monroe: I got her a huge dehydrator. The butcher at our store actually keeps thinly sliced meats in the back just for dehydrating
Aug 29, 2015 8:34 AM - Bill Monroe:  apparently he's a dog lover too
Aug 29, 2015 8:34 AM - Mike Glass: where do you think he gets the meat..:)
Aug 29, 2015 8:36 AM - Bill Monroe: The dogs go ape for those things. They know when 2.0 is heading for the guest house with that one basket, she's going to empty the machine and there'll be warm chicken strips
Aug 29, 2015 8:36 AM - Bill Monroe: Even the neighbors dogs show up :) :)
Aug 29, 2015 8:38 AM - Mike Glass: So whats the verdict on the cnc?
Aug 29, 2015 8:38 AM - Bill Monroe: Well. I found an independent trucker who will bring it here for 500
Aug 29, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Glass: not bad
Aug 29, 2015 8:40 AM - Bill Monroe: CNc guy hasn't communicated with me since I told him I'm in San Diego. He might think I'm a flake
Aug 29, 2015 8:42 AM - Mike Glass: tell him you will trade for pot, then that might turn things around..lol
    Aug 29, 2015 8:58 AM - Bill Monroe: :)
Aug 29, 2015 9:11 AM - jbigler1986: What cnc are you looking at
Aug 29, 2015 9:12 AM - Mike Glass: It's one about 90 miles from me jb
    Aug 29, 2015 9:12 AM - Mike Glass: its a mill converted
    Aug 29, 2015 9:13 AM - jbigler1986: Ahhh
    Aug 29, 2015 9:13 AM - jbigler1986: Why dont you buy it
Aug 29, 2015 9:14 AM - Mike Glass: love too but need to invest in a bigger bed cnc.
Aug 29, 2015 9:14 AM - Bill Monroe: The guy was all about it being hyper accurate since it had servo motors. Till I explained that since the encoders were mounted on the motors and not the table they were really no more accurate than steppers. Maybe even less so

Aug 29, 2015 9:18 AM - PeterkSharma: i just found out my landlord sells cnc bits

Aug 29, 2015 9:26 AM - PeterkSharma: i wasnt sure if i should be offended or say thank you
Aug 29, 2015 9:34 AM - Bill Monroe: yay.. power is back
Aug 29, 2015 9:34 AM - Bill Monroe: seriously Mike?
Aug 29, 2015 9:35 AM - Bill Monroe: i remember going to boeing surplus and buysing stuff.. amazing
Aug 29, 2015 9:36 AM - Bill Monroe: but so much is unusable in small planes.. so many specialy fasteners you need special (and very expensiv) tools to use
Aug 29, 2015 9:37 AM - PeterkSharma: Bill, She bought so much boeing shit
Aug 29, 2015 9:37 AM - Bill Monroe: what for?
Aug 29, 2015 9:37 AM - PeterkSharma: there anything you are looking for? She's still here i can ask if shes got any
Aug 29, 2015 9:37 AM - PeterkSharma: She just buys shit from boeing and sells it later
Aug 29, 2015 9:37 AM - PeterkSharma: she'll prob hook it up if your interested
Aug 29, 2015 9:37 AM - Bill Monroe: naw.. stopped hoarding that stuff.. now I buy what I need and when I need it
Aug 29, 2015 9:38 AM - Bill Monroe: I used to be interested in mateial cut-offs and such but now we have a place that sells new so cheap

Aug 29, 2015 9:50 AM - Mike Kelly: [IMG] this is the worst filament!
Aug 29, 2015 10:20 AM - PeterkSharma: That's rough. You should submit it and blame it on the robo
Aug 29, 2015 10:20 AM - PeterkSharma: Say this is why I should win a new one
    Aug 29, 2015 10:21 AM - Mike Kelly: haha
Aug 29, 2015 10:21 AM - Mike Kelly: i don't really care since it was free filament
Aug 29, 2015 10:21 AM - Mike Kelly: but ugh
    Aug 29, 2015 10:21 AM - Mike Kelly: annoying
Aug 29, 2015 10:31 AM - PeterkSharma: How long was the print?
    Aug 29, 2015 10:31 AM - Mike Kelly: about 16 hours
    Aug 29, 2015 10:49 AM - Bill Monroe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjg9itug8Vcc4fnMZKyWZPA/live

Aug 29, 2015 4:36 PM - donhuevo: just got back from a golf scramble a bit ago. Now I'm all buzzed up on an oxy. By the 18th hole, I could barely move
Aug 29, 2015 4:36 PM - Mike Glass: mix is with beer is best

Aug 29, 2015 4:39 PM - PeterkSharma: hey are there any good cnc machines under 1k?
    Aug 29, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Glass: MPCNC
Aug 29, 2015 4:39 PM - donhuevo: or build the OX
    Aug 29, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Glass: ^
Aug 29, 2015 4:39 PM - PeterkSharma: any 5 axis or do they get really pricey?
    Aug 29, 2015 4:39 PM - Mike Glass: about 5K
    Aug 29, 2015 4:40 PM - donhuevo: http://openbuildspartstore.com/c-beam-machine-mechanical-bundle/
    Aug 29, 2015 4:40 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah i figured for 5 axis.
Aug 29, 2015 4:41 PM - PeterkSharma: is the cnc software a steep learning curve?
Aug 29, 2015 4:42 PM - Mike Glass: depends on what you use, I use a simple on called estlcam
    Aug 29, 2015 4:42 PM - PeterkSharma: c beam looks pretty nice
    Aug 29, 2015 4:45 PM - donhuevo: http://www.smw3d.com/ox-diy-cnc-kit/
Aug 29, 2015 4:45 PM - donhuevo: definitely options out there
Aug 29, 2015 4:46 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah i havent done any cnc but got really inspired today.
Aug 29, 2015 4:46 PM - donhuevo: inspiration from packing?
Aug 29, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: oh you missed it earlier
    Aug 29, 2015 4:47 PM - donhuevo: I missed everything
Aug 29, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: the landlord and i kinda sat down and hashed some things out
Aug 29, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: and i found out that she sells airplane quality cnc bits
Aug 29, 2015 4:47 PM - PeterkSharma: she designed a shit ton of custom ones for boeing
    Aug 29, 2015 4:48 PM - donhuevo: that's a lot
Aug 29, 2015 4:48 PM - Mike Glass: too small, min is 26.5x18.5
Aug 29, 2015 4:48 PM - PeterkSharma: so we bonded a bit over that and she gave me a few and i bought some others. but there is a garage on the property with 800,000 in just bits in it
    Aug 29, 2015 4:48 PM - Mike Glass: mine
Aug 29, 2015 4:49 PM - PeterkSharma: Is there a difference in a CNC and a Mill? I dont see much z height on them, is that for accuracy purposes?
Aug 29, 2015 4:49 PM - donhuevo: did she sell the garage as well as the house?
Aug 29, 2015 4:49 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah but she has a huge trailer she's loading all the bits into
Aug 29, 2015 4:50 PM - PeterkSharma: she invested in the for her grandkids college fund
Aug 29, 2015 4:50 PM - Mike Glass: mills are generally smaller beds and more torque for deeper cutting of metal
Aug 29, 2015 4:51 PM - Mike Glass: they are not really made for cutting other materials
Aug 29, 2015 4:52 PM - PeterkSharma: so cnc is a better route to go?
    Aug 29, 2015 4:52 PM - PeterkSharma: [IMG]
Aug 29, 2015 4:52 PM - PeterkSharma: That is going to be filled with just bits
Aug 29, 2015 4:52 PM - Mike Glass: depends on what you want to accomplish
Aug 29, 2015 4:52 PM - Mike Glass: but you can cut softer metals on a cnc
Aug 29, 2015 4:53 PM - donhuevo: just saw a new jewelry store with CAD-CAM on their sign
Aug 29, 2015 4:53 PM - Mike Glass: I want to cut steel and cnc so a cnc/plasma cutter is what im shooting for
Aug 29, 2015 4:54 PM - PeterkSharma: i need to make an aluminum mount for my still
Aug 29, 2015 4:54 PM - PeterkSharma: would a cnc work for that?
Aug 29, 2015 4:54 PM - Mike Glass: how thick?
    Aug 29, 2015 4:54 PM - PeterkSharma: maybe 4"x4"x3"
    Aug 29, 2015 4:54 PM - Mike Glass: nope
Aug 29, 2015 4:54 PM - PeterkSharma: would that be a mill i would need?
Aug 29, 2015 4:55 PM - Mike Glass: or cast it from a 3d print
Aug 29, 2015 4:55 PM - donhuevo: or design it so thinner parts could be welded
Aug 29, 2015 4:56 PM - Mike Glass: you can weld alum with a propane torch fairly easily
    Aug 29, 2015 4:56 PM - PeterkSharma: really?
Aug 29, 2015 4:56 PM - PeterkSharma: i heard alum was very hard to weld
Aug 29, 2015 4:57 PM - Mike Glass: put it in a oven to heat it up a bit and HF has aluminum welding rods that work really well.
Aug 29, 2015 4:57 PM - PeterkSharma: its pretty large, its a keg that is the boiler
Aug 29, 2015 4:57 PM - PeterkSharma: i dont think i have an oven that will fit it
Aug 29, 2015 4:57 PM - Mike Glass: just heat it up with a ground torch
    Aug 29, 2015 4:57 PM - PeterkSharma: rgr
Aug 29, 2015 4:58 PM - PeterkSharma: HF (harbor freight?)
    Aug 29, 2015 4:58 PM - Mike Glass: yep
    Aug 29, 2015 4:58 PM - Mike Glass: http://www.harborfreight.com/8-piece-low-temperature-aluminum-welding-rods-44810.html
Aug 29, 2015 4:59 PM - PeterkSharma: and i can use a torch with it?
Aug 29, 2015 4:59 PM - Mike Glass: yep regular propane will work
Aug 29, 2015 5:01 PM - Mike Glass: don twas a sad day today
    Aug 29, 2015 5:03 PM - PeterkSharma: sweet thanks!
Aug 29, 2015 5:04 PM - Mike Glass: look at youtube for video on it

    Aug 29, 2015 5:16 PM - donhuevo: so sorry
Aug 29, 2015 5:23 PM - Mike Glass: My son took it the hardest of the kids, but least he is no longer suffering.
Aug 29, 2015 5:24 PM - Mike Glass: he was my wifes b-day present almost 10 years ago, she is devestated. life goes on
Aug 29, 2015 5:28 PM - donhuevo: I've lost dogs as a kid and adult. Don't know if I could say which was worse
Aug 29, 2015 5:29 PM - Mike Glass: a few years ago my 13 year old dog had to be put down, she smacked into a fence post in the dark, found her knocked out, ever since she had seizures, she didnt last long that was hard.
Aug 29, 2015 5:30 PM - Mike Glass: the dane raised from 7 weeks old and I used to lay on the floor with him at night so he wouldnt wine. we were really close.
Aug 29, 2015 5:39 PM - donhuevo: we had two when I was in high school. They were both hit and killed by the same car
Aug 29, 2015 5:39 PM - donhuevo: that was the worst for me
Aug 29, 2015 5:42 PM - donhuevo: thePirateBay may be gone for good
Aug 29, 2015 5:43 PM - Bill Monroe: no surprise

    Aug 29, 2015 5:43 PM - Bill Monroe: or, so I hear :)
Aug 29, 2015 5:44 PM - donhuevo: you almost need to do that sort of work on a virtual machine these days. Wear it like a CDC protective suit
Aug 29, 2015 5:45 PM - Mike Glass: I only do that with a virtual
    Aug 29, 2015 5:46 PM - donhuevo: smart man

Aug 29, 2015 5:55 PM - Mike Glass: only 8 at this time waiting for harry to send more.
    Aug 29, 2015 5:55 PM - bamhm182: http://bambuser.com/v/5755979
Aug 29, 2015 5:56 PM - Bill Monroe: I've already printed the winner Mike so, no rush :)
    Aug 29, 2015 5:56 PM - bamhm182: I like your overlay, Bill
Aug 29, 2015 5:56 PM - Mike Glass: I had a few smaller pieces then you bill
Aug 29, 2015 5:56 PM - bamhm182: Oh man, I've got some catching up to do. Is he only sending them one at a time?
Aug 29, 2015 5:57 PM - Bill Monroe: ya, I had a couple of monsters
Aug 29, 2015 5:57 PM - Bill Monroe: thanks bam

    Aug 29, 2015 5:57 PM - bamhm182: Thanks?
    Aug 29, 2015 5:57 PM - bamhm182: Oh, nevermind
Aug 29, 2015 5:58 PM - bamhm182: I want to eventually get an OctoPi set up. They look pretty sweet
    Aug 29, 2015 5:58 PM - Bill Monroe: i didnt like it
    Aug 29, 2015 5:58 PM - bamhm182: Why not?
Aug 29, 2015 5:59 PM - Bill Monroe: xfer files to SD card VERY VERY slow.. all it was good for was killing the print if it was failing....
Aug 29, 2015 5:59 PM - Bill Monroe: camera quality poor
Aug 29, 2015 6:01 PM - Bill Monroe: I made a remote kill switch up but heh.. have never had to use it
    Aug 29, 2015 6:04 PM - bamhm182: That's unfortunate
Aug 29, 2015 6:04 PM - bamhm182: When the files were on the OctoPi, did you have any issues running from it?
Aug 29, 2015 6:05 PM - Bill Monroe: i didnt try.. dont trust running files through a cable
Aug 29, 2015 6:06 PM - Bill Monroe: I repurposed the pi to recieve and display ADS-B signals from aircraft
Aug 29, 2015 6:06 PM - bamhm182: Fair enough, how were you printing them then?
Aug 29, 2015 6:06 PM - Bill Monroe: xfer to the SD card
Aug 29, 2015 6:07 PM - bamhm182: Oh, I thought that the OctoPi stored the STLs locally
    Aug 29, 2015 6:07 PM - bamhm182: Nevermind, I get what you mean now
    Aug 29, 2015 6:07 PM - Bill Monroe: ok :)
Aug 29, 2015 6:08 PM - bamhm182: I don't like printing over USB either. Had a ton of issues with it when I was first starting out, then I found out that the LCD screens are a much better way to go
    Aug 29, 2015 6:08 PM - Bill Monroe: yup
Aug 29, 2015 6:09 PM - bamhm182: I would just like some way to see exactly where I'm at in my print
    Aug 29, 2015 6:10 PM - bamhm182: So I found out I made a $3000 mistake last week
    Aug 29, 2015 6:10 PM - bamhm182: Today I found out
    Aug 29, 2015 6:10 PM - Bill Monroe: in who's favor?
    Aug 29, 2015 6:11 PM - bamhm182: Military's
Aug 29, 2015 6:12 PM - bamhm182: I signed up for classes while on leave, thinking I could do the paperwork for Tuition Assistance when I got back, turns out that even though the payments aren't due until after the class ends, the tuition assistance needs to be done at least a week before the class starts
    Aug 29, 2015 6:12 PM - Bill Monroe: ohya.. you're chairforce yes?
    Aug 29, 2015 6:12 PM - bamhm182: Yup
Aug 29, 2015 6:18 PM - bamhm182: Total damage is $2738. Air Force was supposed to pay most of it, with a little bit being taken card of by an ASU scholarship. Hopefully I can still get the ASU scholarship, but I'm not sure if the scholarship was because I'm Active Duty or because I was going to use Tuition Assistance. Hopefully it's the prior and I can still save a few bucks
    Aug 29, 2015 6:38 PM - jbigler1986: Back
    Aug 29, 2015 6:38 PM - Bill Monroe: wb
    Aug 29, 2015 6:38 PM - jbigler1986: Thanks
    Aug 29, 2015 6:39 PM - jbigler1986: Is don around
Aug 29, 2015 6:40 PM - Bill Monroe: dont think so
Aug 29, 2015 6:41 PM - jbigler1986: He is busy feeding his stripper
    Aug 29, 2015 6:41 PM - Bill Monroe: really
Aug 29, 2015 6:41 PM - Bill Monroe: what does he eat?
    Aug 29, 2015 6:42 PM - bamhm182: Hey jb
    Aug 29, 2015 6:43 PM - bamhm182: The souls of the innocent.
Aug 29, 2015 6:45 PM - daniel871: Bah. The print quality on my robo is going straight to hell.
Aug 29, 2015 6:48 PM - Bill Monroe: wont get far.. the filament will melt first
    Aug 29, 2015 6:49 PM - bamhm182: Hah
    Aug 29, 2015 6:49 PM - bamhm182: What's it doing?
Aug 29, 2015 6:50 PM - daniel871: Very rough x/y positioning. Actual running is quiet, but its like the steps are off and it can't run in a straight line.
    Aug 29, 2015 6:51 PM - daniel871: Getting a little pissed about it.
Aug 29, 2015 6:52 PM - Bill Monroe: somebody tell me what the heck this is: https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/grd/5154319885.html
Aug 29, 2015 6:52 PM - daniel871: I'm letting the current program run overnight so I have decent photos to share, but this is pathetic.
Aug 29, 2015 6:52 PM - bamhm182: It says my IP has been blocked
    Aug 29, 2015 6:52 PM - bamhm182: Weird...
    Aug 29, 2015 6:53 PM - bamhm182: Oh wait, I'm on a VPN, give me a second
Aug 29, 2015 6:53 PM - daniel871: Looks like part of those fairly gruesome machines that boil and pluck birds at the same time.
    Aug 29, 2015 6:54 PM - bamhm182:
    Aug 29, 2015 6:54 PM - bamhm182: Huh
    Aug 29, 2015 6:55 PM - Bill Monroe: omg
Aug 29, 2015 6:55 PM - Bill Monroe: how efficient is that?
    Aug 29, 2015 6:55 PM - danzca6: that's disturbing
Aug 29, 2015 6:55 PM - daniel871: Ever seen a video of live chickens fed thru a trough of boiling water and coming out the other side dead and plucked?
    Aug 29, 2015 6:57 PM - bamhm182: Can't say I have
Aug 29, 2015 7:01 PM - daniel871: A little more complex, but here is the video I was reminded of.
    Aug 29, 2015 7:01 PM - daniel871:
    Aug 29, 2015 7:02 PM - bamhm182: Wow
Aug 29, 2015 7:02 PM - daniel871: Fair warning, its pretty graphic and might make you sick if you have any empathy for things suffering.
Aug 29, 2015 7:04 PM - bamhm182: That would suck to be those chickens, of course, I feel like they die instantly and don't know what's going on
Aug 29, 2015 7:15 PM - Mike Glass:  bill where did ya go
Aug 29, 2015 7:17 PM - TxKent: WTH. I come here to talk about 3d printing, and you guys are showing videos of chickens being slaughtered???
    Aug 29, 2015 7:17 PM - TxKent: :D
Aug 29, 2015 7:18 PM - Mike Glass: thats just how daniel rolls
    Aug 29, 2015 7:22 PM - Bill Monroe: Mike: https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/tls/5188611987.html
    Aug 29, 2015 7:23 PM - Mike Glass: nice
Aug 29, 2015 7:23 PM - Bill Monroe: how big is your tuber?
    Aug 29, 2015 7:24 PM - Mike Glass: tuber?
    Aug 29, 2015 7:24 PM - Bill Monroe: CNCconduitFantastic
Aug 29, 2015 7:25 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG] not bad for a hack
Aug 29, 2015 7:25 PM - Bill Monroe: not at all
    Aug 29, 2015 7:25 PM - Mike Glass: its 26.5 x 18.5 cutting area
    Aug 29, 2015 7:25 PM - Mike Glass: inches
Aug 29, 2015 7:25 PM - Bill Monroe: ah.. well then take a look at this: https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/tls/5185827509.html
Aug 29, 2015 7:27 PM - Mike Glass: wow 36 ft x 36 ft, is he in dreamland
Aug 29, 2015 7:27 PM - Bill Monroe: that's some serious beef in that machine
Aug 29, 2015 7:27 PM - Bill Monroe: probably needs a facelift though
Aug 29, 2015 7:28 PM - bamhm182: Turns out that the OD of the geared stepper that I bought is 8mm. I have a couple MK7 and MK8 drive gears, but they're smaller. Any of you have a recommendation for an 8mm ID drive gear?
    Aug 29, 2015 7:28 PM - Mike Glass: I want at least a 4x8
Aug 29, 2015 7:29 PM - Bill Monroe: heh i'm gathering stuff to build one that size.. want to do carved doors
Aug 29, 2015 7:30 PM - Mike Glass: yep roger that, exactly
    Aug 29, 2015 7:30 PM - Mike Glass: 5x10 would be ideal
Aug 29, 2015 7:31 PM - Bill Monroe: figure when I'm not using it, I'll put a camera on spindle mount and program it to play ping-pong
Aug 29, 2015 7:32 PM - Bill Monroe: i made a 6X20 machine maybe 10 years ago to route PC sheets for balconys, infinity pools, etc..
Aug 29, 2015 7:32 PM - Bill Monroe: now I understand it's bein used to make machinery guards
Aug 29, 2015 7:33 PM - Mike Glass: what kind of rails system would you use for that big
    Aug 29, 2015 7:33 PM - Mike Glass: emt..lol
Aug 29, 2015 7:33 PM - bamhm182: http://www.tridprinting.com/Mechanical-Parts/#3D-Printer-Hobbed-Drive-Gear Think I'm going to go with the 8mm bore drive gears on that page. Ordered from the before with no problem
Aug 29, 2015 7:33 PM - Bill Monroe: i used 100,, square 80/20 beams with groove wheels above and below
    Aug 29, 2015 7:34 PM - Bill Monroe: 100mm
Aug 29, 2015 7:34 PM - Bill Monroe: rack gear on the beam, pinion gear on a traveling motor, etc...
Aug 29, 2015 7:35 PM - Mike Glass: bam im building this now. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:979113/#instructions
Aug 29, 2015 7:35 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, you showed me that yesterday
    Aug 29, 2015 7:35 PM - bamhm182: Looks interesting
Aug 29, 2015 7:35 PM - Mike Glass: yea hope it works, not out anything if it doesnt.
Aug 29, 2015 7:37 PM - bamhm182: It seems like the filament touching the motor twice would cause more resistance, but it might work well
Aug 29, 2015 7:37 PM - bamhm182: Looks like it worked well for the creator
Aug 29, 2015 7:38 PM - Mike Glass: its a little convoluted on the setup and instructions, but I will make it work, got the stepper drilled and tapped.

Aug 29, 2015 7:39 PM - Mike Glass: got my v6 now just have to wait for more ptfe to show up.
Aug 29, 2015 7:57 PM - Bill Monroe: gads.. 2.0 and her sister are standing in the jacuzzi and smiling at me.. guess I better go...
    Aug 29, 2015 7:58 PM - bamhm182: Hahaha
    Aug 29, 2015 7:58 PM - bamhm182: Later, Bill
    Aug 29, 2015 7:58 PM - Bill Monroe: nite
Aug 29, 2015 7:58 PM - bamhm182: Shouldn't be too much longer before the winning piece of Robbie is completed
Aug 29, 2015 7:59 PM - Mike Glass: nite bill
Aug 29, 2015 7:59 PM - Bill Monroe: that was two days ago
    Aug 29, 2015 8:15 PM - bamhm182: We'll see
    Aug 29, 2015 8:35 PM - TxKent: What's 2.0? Sorry I just got back
Aug 29, 2015 8:35 PM - Mike Glass: the new wife
Aug 29, 2015 8:36 PM - TxKent: Ah... well, 3.0 and I are splitting. Sigh
Aug 29, 2015 8:36 PM - TxKent: No 4.0.. if I do it again, it will be NT
    Aug 29, 2015 8:37 PM - TxKent: At least we're not fighting.
Aug 29, 2015 8:40 PM - TxKent: So, on a happier note, how much pain is it to install the V6?
    Aug 29, 2015 8:40 PM - bamhm182: Not a huge one from what I can tell
Aug 29, 2015 8:40 PM - bamhm182: Then again, I've become pretty familiar with tearing down and putting back together my Robo
Aug 29, 2015 8:41 PM - Mike Glass: you have to drill out the wades hole in the top thats about it
Aug 29, 2015 8:42 PM - TxKent: I have a drill press, would that be necessary?
Aug 29, 2015 8:42 PM - Mike Glass: naw most just do it by had its just a little plastic
Aug 29, 2015 8:42 PM - TxKent: I'm kinda nervous about drilling that out to be totally honest.
Aug 29, 2015 8:42 PM - Mike Glass: then just print another
    Aug 29, 2015 8:42 PM - TxKent: Ok... well, ok. ;)

Aug 29, 2015 9:03 PM - bamhm182: I would probably just print another one. I wouldn't be too keen on drilling it out either
Aug 29, 2015 9:04 PM - Mike Glass: is just a little plastic
Aug 29, 2015 9:04 PM - bamhm182: It's more of the inability to go back that I'm afraid of
Aug 29, 2015 9:05 PM - Mike Glass: doesnt effect it
Aug 29, 2015 9:05 PM - Mike Glass: just allows the top of the v6 to protrude.
Aug 29, 2015 9:05 PM - Mike Glass: the little plastic piece on top
    Aug 29, 2015 9:09 PM - bamhm182: Oh, gotcha
Aug 30, 2015 5:34 AM - Bill Monroe: good morning
    Aug 30, 2015 5:35 AM - Mike Glass: bill
    Aug 30, 2015 5:35 AM - Bill Monroe: Mike
Aug 30, 2015 5:36 AM - Bill Monroe: these robbie solids are AFU
Aug 30, 2015 5:36 AM - Mike Glass: why for
Aug 30, 2015 5:37 AM - Bill Monroe: surfaces arent parallel to planes
Aug 30, 2015 5:38 AM - Mike Glass: wonder what they sliced them with
    Aug 30, 2015 5:38 AM - Bill Monroe: i have no idea
    Aug 30, 2015 5:39 AM - Bill Monroe: but they're lucky.. I can fix it :)
Aug 30, 2015 5:42 AM - Mike Glass: all the ones i had I just had to roll them 90 degrees.
Aug 30, 2015 5:42 AM - Bill Monroe: some of the ones I get, when you slice them the skirt doesnt surround the entire part and dissappears under it
Aug 30, 2015 5:43 AM - Bill Monroe: clear evidence the entire surface isnt setting flat
Aug 30, 2015 5:43 AM - Bill Monroe: close scrutiny reveals it's at a small angle to the surface, often in both planes
    Aug 30, 2015 5:43 AM - Mike Glass: strange.
Aug 30, 2015 5:44 AM - Bill Monroe: a little experimenting and I get it flat
Aug 30, 2015 5:44 AM - Mike Glass: I have been printing the arms, have not had that problem.
Aug 30, 2015 5:44 AM - Bill Monroe: i just did a wrist.. now the right shoulder
Aug 30, 2015 5:46 AM - Bill Monroe: starting it up in just a few minutes
Aug 30, 2015 5:47 AM - Mike Glass: I just started another. I might be able to squeeze on more out of this roll.
    Aug 30, 2015 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: and we're off!

    Aug 30, 2015 6:03 AM - jbigler1986: Morning
    Aug 30, 2015 6:04 AM - Bill Monroe: jb today's the day!
Aug 30, 2015 6:04 AM - Mike Glass: Hey JB
Aug 30, 2015 6:04 AM - jbigler1986: Yeah. Robo will be back. Not until like 9pm though
    Aug 30, 2015 6:04 AM - jbigler1986: Been up since 5am putting together furniture
Aug 30, 2015 6:06 AM - jbigler1986: How are tou guys this morning
Aug 30, 2015 6:09 AM - Bill Monroe: pretty good... did more wiring this morning... much more to do
    Aug 30, 2015 6:11 AM - Bill Monroe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjg9itug8Vcc4fnMZKyWZPA/live
    Aug 30, 2015 6:17 AM - jbigler1986: Hey I had one of those watches. The Gear 2
    Aug 30, 2015 6:17 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, me too :)
Aug 30, 2015 6:17 AM - jbigler1986: I got it right after release. There were like no apps for it at the time
Aug 30, 2015 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: actually it was my son's. bought it in Korea when he was stationed there a few months ago
Aug 30, 2015 6:18 AM - jbigler1986: It was really nice. I just ended up realizing i didnt really have a use for it
Aug 30, 2015 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: no iphone in Korea so he bought an android from his buddy
    Aug 30, 2015 6:18 AM - jbigler1986: Android os better anyway. :)
Aug 30, 2015 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: now that he's back, he got an iwatch or whatever they're called, figured I'd help him out and sell his on eBay
    Aug 30, 2015 6:19 AM - jbigler1986: Then you got screwed. Bastards
Aug 30, 2015 6:19 AM - Bill Monroe: I had 3 androids.. all had the OS choke.. went iphone and zero issues since
Aug 30, 2015 6:20 AM - Bill Monroe: i'm not a fan of apple as a company, but my ipad and iphone have been more reliable than my dogs
Aug 30, 2015 6:22 AM - Bill Monroe: the feds have approved Ipads in the cockpit... that's a testimony to their reliability
Aug 30, 2015 6:36 AM - jbigler1986: Their hardware is awesome. Not denying that. I hate hate hate their software
Aug 30, 2015 6:39 AM - Bill Monroe: well so far, it's never choked on me
Aug 30, 2015 6:39 AM - Bill Monroe: of course, other than the OS, all the software I use is third party
Aug 30, 2015 6:40 AM - Bill Monroe: My son-in-law writes iphone apps.. says Apple has very strict requirments for software
Aug 30, 2015 6:40 AM - Bill Monroe: and that's why they dont crash :)
Aug 30, 2015 6:52 AM - Mike Glass: The planes or the apples.
    Aug 30, 2015 6:54 AM - Bill Monroe: both :)
Aug 30, 2015 6:54 AM - Mike Glass: what kind of wire are you using on your cnc.
Aug 30, 2015 6:55 AM - Bill Monroe: heck, when I crashed my plane, the ipad was thrown out an rolled corner-over-corner for almost 75 ft.. not even a scuff
Aug 30, 2015 6:56 AM - Bill Monroe: at the moment, just 18 guage stranded for the power, Estop and guards circuits
Aug 30, 2015 6:57 AM - Bill Monroe: it's all ordinary wire (guage appropriate) other than the encoders using shielded cable
Aug 30, 2015 6:58 AM - Bill Monroe: externally the cables going to the motors, limits, and encoders are all IGUS motion cable
    Aug 30, 2015 7:00 AM - Bill Monroe: OMG
    Aug 30, 2015 7:00 AM - Mike Glass: ?
Aug 30, 2015 7:01 AM - Bill Monroe: 2.0 just came in to my office wearing axle grease on her face
Aug 30, 2015 7:02 AM - Bill Monroe: we've had this long running battle about how many bottles of "products" she has littering the dressing room
Aug 30, 2015 7:02 AM - Bill Monroe: good natured, lots of fun, thye battle
Aug 30, 2015 7:03 AM - Bill Monroe: it's one of those dual-sink setups.. her stuff has been migrating to my side
Aug 30, 2015 7:04 AM - Bill Monroe: so last night I put all kinds of glue bottle, caulking tubes, grease cartridges, etc.. around my side with a note saying it was the "manification" of the dressing area.
    Aug 30, 2015 7:04 AM - Mike Glass: lol
Aug 30, 2015 7:05 AM - Bill Monroe: she put some on her face and claimed that's what happens when I dont respect her side
Aug 30, 2015 7:05 AM - Bill Monroe: omg, I love that woman
    Aug 30, 2015 7:06 AM - Bill Monroe: brb
    Aug 30, 2015 7:16 AM - Bill Monroe: back
Aug 30, 2015 7:27 AM - Mike Glass: about to run a job on the cnc
    Aug 30, 2015 7:29 AM - Bill Monroe: nice
Aug 30, 2015 7:29 AM - Bill Monroe: gotta get a cam on it
Aug 30, 2015 7:30 AM - Mike Glass: there is one on the tablet
Aug 30, 2015 7:30 AM - Mike Glass: just not in the best position
    Aug 30, 2015 7:31 AM - Bill Monroe: gotcha
Aug 30, 2015 7:31 AM - Bill Monroe: i've got an older handicam that will stream, it'll probably end up on the router
Aug 30, 2015 7:31 AM - Mike Glass: Think I need bigger hold downs though this wood is 1 1/2
Aug 30, 2015 7:33 AM - Mike Glass: got a bunch of flooring samples from bozeman the other day, real hardwood planks.
    Aug 30, 2015 7:33 AM - Bill Monroe: NICE
Aug 30, 2015 7:33 AM - Mike Glass: and for free
Aug 30, 2015 7:33 AM - Bill Monroe: very affordable
Aug 30, 2015 7:38 AM - Bill Monroe: when i was a kid, there was a buy that made hunting bows using teak and walnut. there was a dumpster he put all the scraps in.. 8" triangles 6" thick. we used to stop and FILL his pickup with them, and use them for firewood...
Aug 30, 2015 7:39 AM - Bill Monroe: wish I had them now :) in those says teak and walnut were plentiful and cheap
Aug 30, 2015 7:40 AM - Bill Monroe: my grandfather once bought an entire shipment of 8 quarter phillipine mahogany from the trucking outfit next door, which had to pay-off rain damage
Aug 30, 2015 7:40 AM - Bill Monroe: used it for foundry patterns
    Aug 30, 2015 7:41 AM - Bill Monroe: I sitll have a 22' 8/4 board that's 16" wide.. cant decide what to do with it :)
Aug 30, 2015 7:47 AM - Mike Glass: I found this yesterday. [IMG]
Aug 30, 2015 7:48 AM - Bill Monroe: gunna scrap it?
Aug 30, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Glass: havent plugged it in yet
Aug 30, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Glass: not sure what she has planned for it
Aug 30, 2015 7:49 AM - PeterkSharma: What plugs in on it?
Aug 30, 2015 7:50 AM - Mike Glass: ac plug
    Aug 30, 2015 7:50 AM - PeterkSharma: Morning
    Aug 30, 2015 7:51 AM - Mike Glass: its a monkey ward

Aug 30, 2015 7:55 AM - PeterkSharma: Today I close my business. Sad and happy day
Aug 30, 2015 7:56 AM - Mike Glass: what kind of business
    Aug 30, 2015 7:56 AM - PeterkSharma: I own a cafe
Aug 30, 2015 7:56 AM - Mike Glass: that blows
Aug 30, 2015 7:57 AM - PeterkSharma: Yeah I'm doing final inventory all of today. Guy coming in behind me is buying a lot of my stuff. Sad to see working for myself could be over but happy that I'm doing with dealing with people in a fashion for a bit
Aug 30, 2015 8:05 AM - Mike Glass: food industry is tough, we had a fish n chips place when I was young, uncle sold it to my dad then he had to move to gods country or something, and it went downhill.
Aug 30, 2015 8:08 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah, I did did really well. I was offered a 1 year contract to operate a cafe inside of a federal building.
Aug 30, 2015 8:09 AM - PeterkSharma: there are some cool parts to it. I'm going to napa for the month of septemeber for the crushing of the wine grapes, to be a private chef. but not all the gigs can be that one. So i decided to go back to school for RF
Aug 30, 2015 8:10 AM - PeterkSharma: i guess technically thats and Electronics Engineer. I think one of the things I didnt like the most was being able to only pay people $12/hr
Aug 30, 2015 8:11 AM - PeterkSharma: I just felt bad, cause its not enough to live on in seattle
Aug 30, 2015 8:12 AM - Bill Monroe: there's a state building with a really nice diner tht's been looking for someone to take it over for quite awhile
Aug 30, 2015 8:15 AM - PeterkSharma: Yeah, I guess its been really hard to find people to work in the food industry. Eater (like the ny times for food industry) did an piece on how a year a go on restaurant would get 8 people to apply for one job. Now 8 restaurants give 1 people an offer.
Aug 30, 2015 8:15 AM - PeterkSharma: the number i heard was 20% in San Fran will close because they cant get stagg
    Aug 30, 2015 8:15 AM - PeterkSharma: staff
Aug 30, 2015 8:15 AM - PeterkSharma: NY, Chicago, and a few other are in the same boat
Aug 30, 2015 8:16 AM - Mike Glass: ok ground down some long bolts to fit the t-channel think im in bussiness now.
Aug 30, 2015 8:18 AM - PeterkSharma: MG, whats a monkey ward used for?
Aug 30, 2015 8:20 AM - Mike Glass: Montgomery ward, its an old phono and radio cabinet
Aug 30, 2015 8:20 AM - PeterkSharma: oh way cool!
    Aug 30, 2015 8:20 AM - Mike Glass: we refinish/repurpose furniture.
    Aug 30, 2015 8:21 AM - PeterkSharma: as a hobby?
Aug 30, 2015 8:21 AM - Mike Glass: I also make custom signs and basically anything a customer wants.
Aug 30, 2015 8:22 AM - Mike Glass: its my wifes home business, I help where I can, between my "real job".
Aug 30, 2015 8:24 AM - Mike Glass: I reshape old furniture or new, whatever the customer wants. right now im taking vanity and cutting the middle out and making them in to night tables.
Aug 30, 2015 8:25 AM - Mike Glass: I have an order for 12 MT signs to go to bozeman I need to get done this week also, so little time.
Aug 30, 2015 8:26 AM - donhuevo: the smell at this intersection during my drive home is intoxicating... [IMG]
Aug 30, 2015 8:28 AM - Mike Glass: mm red lobster
Aug 30, 2015 8:31 AM - donhuevo: three Italian restaurants spouting goodness into the air doesn't hurt either
Aug 30, 2015 8:40 AM - PeterkSharma: only thing on that map that tickles my fancy is radioshack
Aug 30, 2015 8:42 AM - danzca6: I'm going to miss having radioshack stores in my area
Aug 30, 2015 8:43 AM - PeterkSharma: what area are you in?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:49 AM - donhuevo: that's Boardman Ohio
Aug 30, 2015 8:50 AM - PeterkSharma: check out fair radio sale
Aug 30, 2015 8:52 AM - donhuevo: wrong side of the state
    Aug 30, 2015 9:20 AM - Bigc: morning
    Aug 30, 2015 9:21 AM - donhuevo: morning
    Aug 30, 2015 9:22 AM - Mike Glass: morning
Aug 30, 2015 10:12 AM - Mike Glass: Don I have a question for you when your back.
    Aug 30, 2015 10:24 AM - jbigler1986: Don
Aug 30, 2015 10:32 AM - stahlee: question: how tight should the belt for y axis be
Aug 30, 2015 10:32 AM - stahlee: i found both my belt tensioners under the bed are cracked bad
Aug 30, 2015 10:33 AM - stahlee: and the screws were loose
Aug 30, 2015 10:33 AM - stahlee: so the belt was very loose. i've tightened them down a bit
Aug 30, 2015 10:34 AM - stahlee: since they're cracked, i'll need to call to have them replaced
    Aug 30, 2015 10:34 AM - stahlee: i'll print some for now
Aug 30, 2015 10:34 AM - stahlee: and one of the plastic holders for the vertical rods is cracked, so the one on the right side does wobble
Aug 30, 2015 10:34 AM - Kevin Nguyen: for the robo 3d what did you guys print to keep the yaxis wire from snagging?
Aug 30, 2015 10:34 AM - stahlee: another piece to have repliace
    Aug 30, 2015 10:35 AM - stahlee: replaced
    Aug 30, 2015 10:45 AM - Bill Monroe: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjg9itug8Vcc4fnMZKyWZPA/live
Aug 30, 2015 10:53 AM - Mike Glass: thats been running for 5 hours. damn son turn up the speed.
Aug 30, 2015 10:55 AM - Bill Monroe: it's like fine wine.. you cant rush quality
Aug 30, 2015 10:55 AM - Bill Monroe: turning up the speed actually wont help
Aug 30, 2015 10:56 AM - Bill Monroe: i could open up the fill - but then the top layer suffers
Aug 30, 2015 10:56 AM - Bill Monroe: I could increase the accelration, but then overall quality suffers
Aug 30, 2015 10:57 AM - Bill Monroe: I could use a 2-process system - but there's an artifact at the change point - quality suffers
    Aug 30, 2015 10:57 AM - Bill Monroe: so, I go slow
Aug 30, 2015 10:58 AM - Bill Monroe: the hex fill actually is the slowpoint in this case.. the tip never has a chance to realize the selected speed since it has to decelerate before it can
Aug 30, 2015 10:59 AM - Bill Monroe: watch the difference when it does the first perimeter
Aug 30, 2015 11:20 AM - Mike Glass: I changed jerk and accel running 80mm/s on these parts, quality seems fine.
    Aug 30, 2015 11:58 AM - Mike Kelly: howdy
    Aug 30, 2015 12:13 PM - PeterkSharma: good afternoon
    Aug 30, 2015 12:14 PM - Bill Monroe: Pete
    Aug 30, 2015 12:16 PM - PeterkSharma: Hey bill
Aug 30, 2015 12:16 PM - stahlee: Mike, how tight does the belt for Y axis need to be
Aug 30, 2015 12:16 PM - stahlee: i found both the belt tensioners are broke
Aug 30, 2015 12:17 PM - stahlee: but still functioning
Aug 30, 2015 12:17 PM - stahlee: the screws were pretty loose so the belt was quite loose.
Aug 30, 2015 12:17 PM - stahlee: much tighter now
Aug 30, 2015 12:18 PM - Mike Kelly: i don't think it needs to be crazy tight, just taught
Aug 30, 2015 12:18 PM - Mike Kelly: i think they've been over tensioning at the factory causing them to break a lot
Aug 30, 2015 12:21 PM - stahlee: i've tightened everything down on my Robo. I'm still not getting clean prints anymore. I'm hoping tightening the belt will help
Aug 30, 2015 12:21 PM - stahlee: Mike, i've got more photos for ya
Aug 30, 2015 12:21 PM - stahlee: let me upload them
Aug 30, 2015 12:21 PM - PeterkSharma: I think im headed to Austin TX in Oct. Going to write code with my friend to try and get a pi based 3d OS going!
Aug 30, 2015 12:22 PM - PeterkSharma: think about how fast that will make a delta printer!
Aug 30, 2015 12:22 PM - Mike Kelly: like the smoothieboard?
Aug 30, 2015 12:25 PM - PeterkSharma: Yeah, but PI 2 is crazy faster i think.
    Aug 30, 2015 12:26 PM - PeterkSharma: 900MHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 CPU 1GB RAM
    Aug 30, 2015 12:26 PM - PeterkSharma: ^^ is the pi
    Aug 30, 2015 12:27 PM - PeterkSharma: smoothie board is NXP LPC 1768/9 32-bits Cortex-M3 MCU, running at 96 to 120Mhz. 512kB Flash, 64kB RAM.
Aug 30, 2015 12:27 PM - Mike Kelly: i doubt you can make use of all that
Aug 30, 2015 12:27 PM - PeterkSharma: Going to put the slicer on it
Aug 30, 2015 12:28 PM - PeterkSharma: well i should say that is the plan
    Aug 30, 2015 12:28 PM - Mike Kelly: right
Aug 30, 2015 12:28 PM - PeterkSharma: if anything experience tells me. I wont know what im actually making until its finished

    Aug 30, 2015 12:46 PM - stahlee: Peter, I live in Austin
Aug 30, 2015 12:52 PM - PeterkSharma: Yeah, it was its for the bondtech
Aug 30, 2015 12:52 PM - PeterkSharma: Stahlee if you want to help work on the project when I'm there pm me
    Aug 30, 2015 12:52 PM - PeterkSharma: I gotta jet

Aug 30, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Glass: very carefully
Aug 30, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Kelly: how'd you prevent the shaft from spinning?
Aug 30, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Glass: drill pressed it, then chucked up the tap in the press and hand turned it.
Aug 30, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Glass: used a cresent wrench on the shaft.
    Aug 30, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Kelly: ah
    Aug 30, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Glass: like the 18" cresent..lol
Aug 30, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Kelly: then just held it?
Aug 30, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Glass: yea it was kinda tricky, then used my chin to put little force down on the press..
Aug 30, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Glass: luckily I bought a drill press clamp the other day at HF.
    Aug 30, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: lmao

Aug 30, 2015 2:20 PM - Mike Glass: so did you offer anything on that one here?
Aug 30, 2015 2:20 PM - Bill Monroe: naw.. the guy went stealth on me.. dunno why
Aug 30, 2015 2:21 PM - Bill Monroe: but the distance just adds too much to the cost..
Aug 30, 2015 2:22 PM - Bill Monroe: I've run into several Bridgeports and their ilk in the LA area for the same cost as it would take for me to go to MT
Aug 30, 2015 2:22 PM - Mike Glass: not if you can get it for half.
Aug 30, 2015 2:22 PM - Bill Monroe: well maybe

    Aug 30, 2015 2:34 PM - jbigler1986: 17000 sold
Aug 30, 2015 2:34 PM - Mike Kelly: sup jb, any good news?
    Aug 30, 2015 3:22 PM - jbigler1986: Getting y printer and some other stuff in 2 hours
Aug 30, 2015 3:23 PM - bamhm182: Sweet! So what'd she end up doing with it?
    Aug 30, 2015 3:24 PM - jbigler1986: No clue
    Aug 30, 2015 3:25 PM - bamhm182: Oh wait, you mean a new one?
Aug 30, 2015 3:35 PM - Mike Glass: his old one back
Aug 30, 2015 3:36 PM - jbigler1986: No. My old one. Judge told her friday that she had to give it and bunch of other stuff back friday and today
Aug 30, 2015 3:37 PM - jbigler1986: Only bc he felt bad bc he didnt know how to rule basically. She is going to get fucked majorly when we go back to court
Aug 30, 2015 3:38 PM - jbigler1986: We only had an hour Friday which wasnt even close to enough time for my attorney to present everything. Next hearing we have the judge for a full day
    Aug 30, 2015 3:41 PM - bamhm182: Nice
Aug 30, 2015 3:43 PM - jbigler1986: Plus I just got CPS report in the mail yesterday where my son stated she slapped him
    Aug 30, 2015 3:43 PM - Bill Monroe: <hi5>
Aug 30, 2015 3:44 PM - jbigler1986: Plus i printed like 7 other things Friday night that i didnt have
Aug 30, 2015 3:44 PM - jbigler1986: How old were your kids Bill duting yours?
    Aug 30, 2015 3:45 PM - jbigler1986: During*
    Aug 30, 2015 3:45 PM - Bill Monroe: 15, 6, 5
Aug 30, 2015 3:47 PM - jbigler1986: Did you have to get a guardian ad litem
Aug 30, 2015 3:47 PM - Bill Monroe: nope. they were awarded to me 100% - no legal visitation
    Aug 30, 2015 3:47 PM - jbigler1986: At the pretrial?
    Aug 30, 2015 3:48 PM - jbigler1986: Or not until final hearing?
Aug 30, 2015 3:49 PM - Bill Monroe: ya,, we have an office in family court called FCS - family court services.. bunch of investigators and shrinks that interview kids an parents. they make a reccomendation to the court for custody.. the judge rarely changes it
Aug 30, 2015 3:49 PM - Bill Monroe: in my case, she took the visitation away cuz my ex's behavior in court was outrageous
Aug 30, 2015 3:50 PM - Bill Monroe: my oldest never talked to her again.. the others only occasionally and not for at least 10 years now
Aug 30, 2015 3:51 PM - Bill Monroe: my younger son told them how she used to beat him with his toys
Aug 30, 2015 3:51 PM - Bill Monroe: like a hotwheels track section!!!
Aug 30, 2015 3:51 PM - Bill Monroe: at his age, and due to his ADD, he had no clue why
Aug 30, 2015 3:52 PM - Bill Monroe: the other two corraborated so.. they were mine :)
Aug 30, 2015 3:52 PM - jbigler1986: Thats basically what a guardian ad litem is. Interviews everyone and is a speaker for the kids
Aug 30, 2015 3:52 PM - Bill Monroe: when she found out and blew up in front of the FCS board, the court took all visitation away so.. bye bye bitch
Aug 30, 2015 3:53 PM - Bill Monroe: ok.. different name.. same function
Aug 30, 2015 3:53 PM - Bill Monroe: ok gotta run and get some fuses
Aug 30, 2015 3:53 PM - Bill Monroe: checkin with ya later
Aug 30, 2015 3:58 PM - Bigc: When i get finished printing the stuff the put a set of E3DV6 i think i am going to melt down the 3 hexagon extruders i have laying around and turn them in to buckshot that is probably the only thing they are good for
Aug 30, 2015 3:59 PM - Mike Kelly: why did you buy 3?
Aug 30, 2015 4:00 PM - Bigc: 1 was the original 1 I bought 1 was the replacement robo sent for the first one
    Aug 30, 2015 4:00 PM - Mike Kelly: ah
    Aug 30, 2015 4:00 PM - bamhm182: I feel like I want to put my old z-steppers back
Aug 30, 2015 4:01 PM - bamhm182: I'm getting some ribbing on my recent prints that I feel like is due to my new steppers being slightly bent
Aug 30, 2015 4:04 PM - Bigc: Speaking of Steppers did robo ever get that batch to clear customs
Aug 30, 2015 4:04 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, and then you can just throw away the rubber boots. Those are not even worth the time to do anything with
    Aug 30, 2015 4:04 PM - bamhm182: Hadn't heard anything
    Aug 30, 2015 4:04 PM - jbigler1986: The rubber boot is what made me get a v6
Aug 30, 2015 4:05 PM - jbigler1986: Broke my thermistor bc of that damn thing
Aug 30, 2015 4:05 PM - bamhm182: That's my main thought behind getting a v6 too, but I'm also thinking I might just wait it out
Aug 30, 2015 4:06 PM - bamhm182: I also want to know if Robo has started shipping stepper driver upgrades that are not bent. I might contact Harry and see if I can get a replacement since I would rather have ones that aren't bent...
    Aug 30, 2015 4:06 PM - bamhm182: *stepper motor
Aug 30, 2015 4:07 PM - Bigc: I have yet to hear anyone having issues with the V6
Aug 30, 2015 4:13 PM - jbigler1986: Steppers. Not drivers. You will confuse someone
    Aug 30, 2015 4:21 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, my bad
Aug 30, 2015 5:10 PM - Mike Glass: bad bad bam
Aug 30, 2015 5:18 PM - bamhm182: haha, can't help it, I'm just naturally good at confusing people
    Aug 30, 2015 5:51 PM - daniel871: I'm having the same issue, bam.
    Aug 30, 2015 5:51 PM - daniel871: Bent lead screws.
    Aug 30, 2015 5:51 PM - bamhm182: It sucks
Aug 30, 2015 5:52 PM - bamhm182: I just finished up another part for Robbie and am going to swap out my lead screws to put on the old ones
Aug 30, 2015 5:55 PM - daniel871: Let me know how that goes for you. I'm thinking of chalking me experience with the robo up as an expensive learning experience and saving up to get a different printer.
    Aug 30, 2015 5:55 PM - daniel871: My
Aug 30, 2015 5:56 PM - daniel871: Or letting it finish the prints I've committed to and include a note saying "prints like this are why you should send me the R1 plus".
Aug 30, 2015 5:59 PM - daniel871: The pretending to be ignorant of the QC issues they have is just rubbing me the wrong way now.
Aug 30, 2015 6:03 PM - daniel871: Between the bent leadscrews and the bearings being loose in the pillow blocks (figured that out today, by the way), the robo doesn't have a prayer right now. It needs pillow blocks that actually hold the bearings in place instead of allowing the bed to visibly rock toward the front/back of the printer as the bed travels front one end to the other.
    Aug 30, 2015 6:03 PM - daniel871: From
Aug 30, 2015 6:07 PM - daniel871: Don't think I can trust it to print replacement pillow block and I'm getting tired of buying replacement parts from Robo
    Aug 30, 2015 6:18 PM - bamhm182: What pillow blocks?
    Aug 30, 2015 6:18 PM - bamhm182: The ones on the y-axis rods?
    Aug 30, 2015 6:27 PM - jbigler1986: Back
    Aug 30, 2015 6:27 PM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Aug 30, 2015 6:28 PM - jbigler1986: Case wasnt bolted on. Looks broke but its not
Aug 30, 2015 6:30 PM - danzca6: Harry mentioned in the z-stepper upgrade thread that new ones where shipping (not bent) and if you had a bent one to contact him and he would send a new one to you
    Aug 30, 2015 6:30 PM - bamhm182: Welcome back
Aug 30, 2015 6:30 PM - danzca6: Daniel, he also wanted you to email him details of your issue.
Aug 30, 2015 6:31 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, but I've had mine since mid-July and have put a handful of hours on them. I sent him a PM anyways.
Aug 30, 2015 6:31 PM - bamhm182: Looks pretty scary, jb, but everything works?
Aug 30, 2015 6:34 PM - danzca6: It must be a real palm to face moment for Robo when sending out an upgrade like this and it makes matters worse because of QC issues. I'm sure they want to make it right.
Aug 30, 2015 6:35 PM - jbigler1986: No idea if everything works. It looks ok. As far as visually.
Aug 30, 2015 6:37 PM - jbigler1986: To much other stuff to do and its to late to get it back together and setup

Aug 30, 2015 6:37 PM - danzca6: jbigler, what is the story about that pic? Was that a used Robo you bought?
Aug 30, 2015 6:39 PM - jbigler1986: Noooooo. Long story. That is my highly modified robo that i just got back from my ex wife
Aug 30, 2015 6:40 PM - danzca6: ooooooooh boy, that does sound like a long story
Aug 30, 2015 6:42 PM - jbigler1986: Glad i got all of this back too
    Aug 30, 2015 6:42 PM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Aug 30, 2015 6:44 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, I would be too, quite a bit of filament
Aug 30, 2015 6:44 PM - bamhm182: And hey, now you can help with Robbie
    Aug 30, 2015 6:44 PM - jbigler1986: Fuck that
Aug 30, 2015 6:46 PM - danzca6: sounds like you have bigger priorities these days than Robbie
Aug 30, 2015 6:47 PM - danzca6: Good luck with getting things straightened out
Aug 30, 2015 6:47 PM - jbigler1986: Nah im just not a fan of team robo right now
    Aug 30, 2015 6:49 PM - bamhm182: Fair enough
    Aug 30, 2015 6:50 PM - Bill Monroe: Yay!
    Aug 30, 2015 6:54 PM - jbigler1986: 1 plus of the weekend. Lol
    Aug 30, 2015 6:55 PM - Bill Monroe: next one is a 3-day
Aug 30, 2015 6:58 PM - bamhm182: For some people, Holidays stopped existing for our shop
Aug 30, 2015 6:59 PM - jbigler1986: Forgot about the 3 day. I am going to be slammed tomorrow. Ugh. Was gone 2 and a half days and we fired someone Friday
    Aug 30, 2015 6:59 PM - jbigler1986: Then always have a 2 hour meeting on Monday.
Aug 30, 2015 7:01 PM - Bill Monroe: I dont have any meetings scheduled at all this week.
    Aug 30, 2015 7:01 PM - jbigler1986: I have a ton this week
    Aug 30, 2015 7:35 PM - stahlee: evening all
    Aug 30, 2015 7:35 PM - stahlee: i could use more help
Aug 30, 2015 7:35 PM - danzca6: My company has a No Meetings Monday policy unless it is an emergency issue. Helps with catching up after the weekend and getting a good start to the week. Doesn't always work, but more often than not it helps.

    Aug 30, 2015 7:35 PM - stahlee: take a look at these
Aug 30, 2015 7:36 PM - stahlee: for some reason, the y axis is just crazy. It's all wavy now
Aug 30, 2015 7:37 PM - stahlee: my robe is about 3 weeks old. It was printing so well when I got it, but it started going down hill last week
Aug 30, 2015 7:39 PM - danzca6: wonder if something is coming loose. Take your plate off and move the y back and forth. Do you see anything wobbling or loose?
    Aug 30, 2015 7:40 PM - stahlee: i tore it apart today
Aug 30, 2015 7:40 PM - stahlee: and tightened everything. Both the belt tensioners under the bed are cracked
Aug 30, 2015 7:40 PM - danzca6: I have had mine for a month and found some screws coming loose the other day
Aug 30, 2015 7:40 PM - stahlee: they were loose and I was able to tighten them
    Aug 30, 2015 7:40 PM - danzca6: oh
Aug 30, 2015 7:40 PM - stahlee: some were loose
Aug 30, 2015 7:41 PM - danzca6: mine came with a new one of those in a small bag, did yours?
Aug 30, 2015 7:41 PM - stahlee: also, one of the axis supports is cracked
Aug 30, 2015 7:41 PM - stahlee: other than that, everything was tight
Aug 30, 2015 7:41 PM - danzca6: the belt tensioners are the small plastic pieces at each end right?
Aug 30, 2015 7:42 PM - stahlee: I have been printing tests all weeks trying different setups. more heat, less hest
    Aug 30, 2015 7:42 PM - stahlee: heat
Aug 30, 2015 7:42 PM - stahlee: yeah, under the bed. there is a screw in the front and back
Aug 30, 2015 7:42 PM - stahlee: those are for the tensioners
Aug 30, 2015 7:42 PM - stahlee: i'll call them in to get replaced
Aug 30, 2015 7:43 PM - danzca6: I'd say print one, but prob too late for that now
Aug 30, 2015 7:43 PM - stahlee: here are prints from when I bought the robo
    Aug 30, 2015 7:43 PM - stahlee: https://app.box.com/s/btf7la3f4bflnsi7eeb1pv2f5vml0qe6
Aug 30, 2015 7:43 PM - stahlee: prints were awesome
    Aug 30, 2015 7:43 PM - stahlee: I'm running out of ideas
    Aug 30, 2015 7:44 PM - stahlee: it's only the x axis
    Aug 30, 2015 7:44 PM - stahlee: sorry, y axis
Aug 30, 2015 7:44 PM - stahlee: you can see x axis is super straight and clean
Aug 30, 2015 7:45 PM - danzca6: yeah, I would replace the cracked pieces and see where you are after that. I would guess that would help
Aug 30, 2015 7:45 PM - danzca6: I am going to print a couple extras tomorrow just in case I get into the same issue
Aug 30, 2015 7:45 PM - danzca6: Yours didn't come with any extras? Mine came with one
    Aug 30, 2015 7:46 PM - stahlee: nope
Aug 30, 2015 7:46 PM - stahlee: i saw some people received extrs
    Aug 30, 2015 7:46 PM - danzca6: hmmm. that sucks
Aug 30, 2015 7:47 PM - danzca6: do you think a print would be off enough to make a difference if you printed one? Might get you by until they send some new ones
Aug 30, 2015 7:47 PM - stahlee: frustrating. especially after it was so dialed in
Aug 30, 2015 7:47 PM - stahlee: i should be able to print one
    Aug 30, 2015 7:47 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:865995
Aug 30, 2015 7:48 PM - stahlee: from watching the print, the lower layers so fine. like when it lays down the first layer there is not wavyness
Aug 30, 2015 7:48 PM - stahlee: it seems to happen after
Aug 30, 2015 7:49 PM - danzca6: first layer prints slower normally...wonder if speed makes it worse
Aug 30, 2015 7:49 PM - stahlee: i could try slowing it down a lot
    Aug 30, 2015 7:50 PM - stahlee: i run 50mm/s
    Aug 30, 2015 7:50 PM - stahlee: which I think is normal
    Aug 30, 2015 7:50 PM - danzca6: yeah, that is normal
    Aug 30, 2015 7:51 PM - danzca6: I've gone slower and it is painful
    Aug 30, 2015 7:54 PM - stahlee: 30 for the first layer
Aug 30, 2015 7:54 PM - danzca6: makes sense though since more speed means more jerking action
    Aug 30, 2015 7:54 PM - stahlee: I'll try 30mm/s for the entire print
    Aug 30, 2015 7:55 PM - bamhm182: Wait, it's on the Y axis, or the X axis?
    Aug 30, 2015 7:55 PM - danzca6: printing the new tensioner for a test?
Aug 30, 2015 7:55 PM - bamhm182: If you're looking at the front of the printer, do the ribs stick out to the right or the left?
    Aug 30, 2015 7:55 PM - danzca6: I mean, if you're going to print something
Aug 30, 2015 7:55 PM - bamhm182: *right and left or towards and away from you
Aug 30, 2015 7:57 PM - bamhm182: Either way, I would say to check your belts, but it looks to me like the ribs are sticking out to the left and the right, rather than front and back, which would make me think the Robo is having trouble slowing the carriage down when it is moving left and right, rather than the bed
    Aug 30, 2015 7:58 PM - stahlee: it's on both sides
Aug 30, 2015 7:58 PM - bamhm182: The left and the right side though, right?
    Aug 30, 2015 7:58 PM - stahlee: yeah
Aug 30, 2015 7:58 PM - stahlee: so when the bed is moving
Aug 30, 2015 7:59 PM - stahlee: i'm looking at this last print which was a leg for one of the spool holders
Aug 30, 2015 7:59 PM - bamhm182: Do you have extra zip ties?
Aug 30, 2015 7:59 PM - stahlee: so when the x axis carriage is moving, those lines are perfectly straight
    Aug 30, 2015 7:59 PM - stahlee: i have zipties
Aug 30, 2015 8:00 PM - stahlee: when the ben is moving, the outer layer is wavy
    Aug 30, 2015 8:00 PM - bamhm182: Actually, hang on...
Aug 30, 2015 8:01 PM - bamhm182: It actually seems like maybe it could be one of a couple issues, so let's start with what's easy and hope for the best
Aug 30, 2015 8:02 PM - bamhm182: Take a look at how the band is connected to the back of the carriage with zip ties, then cut the zip ties and pull it tight and then redo the zip ties
    Aug 30, 2015 8:03 PM - stahlee: so you're thinking it's the carriage ?
Aug 30, 2015 8:04 PM - bamhm182: It seems like it could be, but what gets me is how it's wavy across the entire y axis. Let me read through what you typed again
    Aug 30, 2015 8:04 PM - stahlee: yeah, it's super odd
Aug 30, 2015 8:04 PM - stahlee: i can't find anything in the forums that matches what i'm seeing
Aug 30, 2015 8:05 PM - stahlee: the belt on the carriage is tight
Aug 30, 2015 8:06 PM - bamhm182: I know you only had it for a couple weeks, but do you notice the y-axis sounding different?
Aug 30, 2015 8:06 PM - stahlee: i mean, to what I would think would be good tension
Aug 30, 2015 8:06 PM - bamhm182: Alright, leave that be for now then
Aug 30, 2015 8:06 PM - stahlee: hmm, I don't think it sounds any different
Aug 30, 2015 8:06 PM - stahlee: it seems to move fine without any noises

Aug 30, 2015 8:07 PM - stahlee: i also checked it over when I had it apart today
Aug 30, 2015 8:08 PM - bamhm182: What do you mean by "one of the axis supports is cracked"?
Aug 30, 2015 8:09 PM - stahlee: the z axis support for that taller rod is cracked on the right side
Aug 30, 2015 8:09 PM - danzca6: My z-axis supports have a crack but don't seem to change anything as far as support yet
    Aug 30, 2015 8:09 PM - danzca6: still hold stiff
    Aug 30, 2015 8:09 PM - stahlee: yeah, it's not moving
Aug 30, 2015 8:10 PM - stahlee: i tried super glue today, but it didn't hold
Aug 30, 2015 8:10 PM - stahlee: i was thinking of printing one of them
Aug 30, 2015 8:10 PM - danzca6: I think the tensioner on the y will be needed first
    Aug 30, 2015 8:10 PM - bamhm182: I print at 60mm/s, sometimes up to 120mm/s if I don't care about the piece, so 50mm/s should be fine.
    Aug 30, 2015 8:11 PM - stahlee: i did bump up to 60 for a bit
Aug 30, 2015 8:11 PM - stahlee: but i've gone back to 50 this week
Aug 30, 2015 8:11 PM - stahlee: i was going to print one of the tensioners out quick at 40
Aug 30, 2015 8:11 PM - bamhm182: How bad is the crack on the z-axis?
Aug 30, 2015 8:12 PM - stahlee: cracked most of the way from top down
Aug 30, 2015 8:12 PM - stahlee: i didn't notice it until today, but I believe it's cracked because the rod wasn't in the holder at the top of the lid when i got it
Aug 30, 2015 8:12 PM - bamhm182: If those z-axis smooth rods aren't holding the smooth rod well, the Z-axis stepper motors might be moving the carriage when they spin, which would make sense
Aug 30, 2015 8:12 PM - stahlee: so when it was assembled, they missed
Aug 30, 2015 8:13 PM - bamhm182: That would also make sense why it gets worse the higher it goes, since the higher the carriage is, the more important those z-axis smooth rods are
Aug 30, 2015 8:13 PM - stahlee: ok, so I should print out one of them
    Aug 30, 2015 8:14 PM - bamhm182: I would say it would be a good idea
Aug 30, 2015 8:14 PM - bamhm182: I believe Mike Kelly had made a much better Z support, let me see if I can find it
Aug 30, 2015 8:16 PM - danzca6: my z smooth rod wasn't attached to the top either when it arrived. Thought it was FedEx and their care of the box
Aug 30, 2015 8:16 PM - bamhm182: Actually, it was Mike Glass that made it
    Aug 30, 2015 8:16 PM - bamhm182: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:950773
Aug 30, 2015 8:17 PM - bamhm182: Do you have the Z axis with the coupler, or is the threaded rod connected directly to the printer?
Aug 30, 2015 8:17 PM - bamhm182: It might have been a little of both
Aug 30, 2015 8:19 PM - danzca6: it doesn't budge though when in the top hole and the lid is secured
Aug 30, 2015 8:19 PM - danzca6: I found that same support and was thinking of printing it for a spare in case
Aug 30, 2015 8:20 PM - bamhm182: Mike seems to like it. I was thinking about printing some replacements as well, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Might wait a while since I am going to replace my Z-Steppers and don't think I can use that one until I have the new ones
    Aug 30, 2015 8:21 PM - bamhm182: Is yours cracked too, danzca?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:22 PM - danzca6: yes
    Aug 30, 2015 8:23 PM - stahlee: it's a newer model with the coupler
    Aug 30, 2015 8:23 PM - bamhm182: As bad as stahlee's?
Aug 30, 2015 8:23 PM - danzca6: Mine is from the top down half way or so
Aug 30, 2015 8:23 PM - stahlee: mine is about 3/4 of the way down
Aug 30, 2015 8:24 PM - stahlee: the plastics used for the belt tensioner and the supports for the z axis rods are made of brittle plastics
Aug 30, 2015 8:24 PM - danzca6: man, I am printing more spare parts tomorrow...don't want to wait until I am totally broke down the road :)
    Aug 30, 2015 8:24 PM - stahlee: very ridgid
Aug 30, 2015 8:24 PM - bamhm182: Hmn, if it were me, I would probably print out new supports too, like I said though, I'm not sure if the one MG made will work with the coupler steppers
    Aug 30, 2015 8:24 PM - stahlee: i'm printing the belt tensioner
Aug 30, 2015 8:24 PM - stahlee: i'll print the support when it finishes
    Aug 30, 2015 8:25 PM - stahlee: i'm watching the print closely
Aug 30, 2015 8:25 PM - danzca6: does the speed seem to help?
Aug 30, 2015 8:25 PM - stahlee: it seems to me that it's simply pushing down harder on the y axis. it's making the print bulge out on the sides
Aug 30, 2015 8:25 PM - stahlee: almost like over extruded
    Aug 30, 2015 8:25 PM - stahlee: i left it at 50 by accident
    Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - danzca6: ha
Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - bamhm182: Could be wrong, but I feel like that would cause it to evenly bulge out the sides rather than wave like that
Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - danzca6: I guess it doesn't need to be pretty at this point
Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - stahlee: so wants it gets a little wavy, the printer wants to follow afterwards
Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - stahlee: thus making it work the more layers there are
    Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - stahlee: i agree bam
    Aug 30, 2015 8:26 PM - stahlee: that's why it's odd
Aug 30, 2015 8:27 PM - bamhm182: Hmn, seems like that could make sense
    Aug 30, 2015 8:27 PM - stahlee: i don't detect anything moving when it's printing
    Aug 30, 2015 8:27 PM - stahlee: like wobbling
Aug 30, 2015 8:27 PM - stahlee: everything looks secure unless I simply can't see it
Aug 30, 2015 8:28 PM - stahlee: which is possible. But the Z rods don't seem like they are budging
    Aug 30, 2015 8:28 PM - bamhm182: Got a camera you can stabilize?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:28 PM - bamhm182: on a tripod or something
    Aug 30, 2015 8:28 PM - stahlee: i do
Aug 30, 2015 8:29 PM - stahlee: i'd have to get it all out which I can do tomorrow
    Aug 30, 2015 8:29 PM - bamhm182: Mind recording a video?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:29 PM - bamhm182: Alright
Aug 30, 2015 8:29 PM - stahlee: i have to hit the sack soone
Aug 30, 2015 8:29 PM - stahlee: will you be around tomorrow
Aug 30, 2015 8:30 PM - bamhm182: Might want to take a video and try coming on here a little earlier. Seems like everyone split earlier tonight, but there is usually a handful of really knowledgeable people on here
    Aug 30, 2015 8:30 PM - bamhm182: Probably. I come and go, but I'll probably be around
    Aug 30, 2015 8:30 PM - stahlee: i'll make a video when I get home from work
Aug 30, 2015 8:31 PM - stahlee: not sure of your timezone, but it's 10:34 here
Aug 30, 2015 8:31 PM - bamhm182: Oh wait, I forgot I work tomorrow, I probably won't be on until about an hour from now tomorrow night
    Aug 30, 2015 8:31 PM - bamhm182: I'm just a timezone over. 11:34 here
    Aug 30, 2015 8:32 PM - stahlee: ok
    Aug 30, 2015 8:32 PM - stahlee: i'm looking at a calibration box i ran earlier
Aug 30, 2015 8:32 PM - stahlee: the waves look to be around where the grid meets the outer wall
Aug 30, 2015 8:32 PM - stahlee: these waves are evenly spaced
Aug 30, 2015 8:33 PM - stahlee: which could be why the lower layers look fine. They are the solid layers
    Aug 30, 2015 8:33 PM - bamhm182: Huh
    Aug 30, 2015 8:34 PM - stahlee: hmm, i wonder if I should try a 100% infill
    Aug 30, 2015 8:34 PM - danzca6: oh, that might be a good idea
Aug 30, 2015 8:34 PM - bamhm182: That makes it sound like it could be the carriage not stopping on time, which (to me) seems like it could be either due to the carriage belt being loose, or back to the cracked z-support.
Aug 30, 2015 8:35 PM - bamhm182: I still think that the first thing I would try is to replace that z-support
Aug 30, 2015 8:36 PM - stahlee: i'll print one tomorrow and get it installed
Aug 30, 2015 8:36 PM - stahlee: the belt tensioner finished
    Aug 30, 2015 8:36 PM - stahlee: it's wavy
Aug 30, 2015 8:38 PM - danzca6: Heading to bed, but good luck. I am interested if you have success. Might be worth a post in troubleshooting to track and eventually help others
    Aug 30, 2015 8:38 PM - bamhm182: Later, danz
Aug 30, 2015 8:39 PM - danzca6: def open my eyes on the need for some spare parts and not ignore a crack
    Aug 30, 2015 8:39 PM - stahlee: i'm uploading them
    Aug 30, 2015 8:39 PM - stahlee: later dan
    Aug 30, 2015 8:39 PM - stahlee: danz
    Aug 30, 2015 8:39 PM - danzca6: Dan is fine
    Aug 30, 2015 8:40 PM - danzca6: :)
    Aug 30, 2015 8:40 PM - stahlee: :)
    Aug 30, 2015 8:40 PM - stahlee: i'll probably start a post tomorrow
    Aug 30, 2015 8:40 PM - danzca6: take care all
Aug 30, 2015 8:41 PM - PeterkSharma: good evening all
    Aug 30, 2015 8:41 PM - stahlee: later Peter
    Aug 30, 2015 8:41 PM - stahlee: bam, go here https://app.box.com/s/bus82ehr8v2b689jj991w82hxmp7bs57/1/4365101686

    Aug 30, 2015 8:41 PM - PeterkSharma: that was a hello! hahaa
    Aug 30, 2015 8:41 PM - stahlee: that's the tensioner I just printed
    Aug 30, 2015 8:41 PM - stahlee: haha
Aug 30, 2015 8:42 PM - stahlee: sorry, uploading and posting
Aug 30, 2015 8:42 PM - PeterkSharma: looks like it printed nice
    Aug 30, 2015 8:42 PM - PeterkSharma: all good
Aug 30, 2015 8:42 PM - stahlee: super wavy in the y axis
Aug 30, 2015 8:43 PM - PeterkSharma: whats your jerk set at?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:43 PM - PeterkSharma: and accel?
Aug 30, 2015 8:44 PM - PeterkSharma: I can give you bill's settings. everything he prints is just gold
Aug 30, 2015 8:45 PM - Bill Monroe: ya.. they call me Midas :)
Aug 30, 2015 8:45 PM - stahlee: i'll take what I can get to fix this
Aug 30, 2015 8:46 PM - stahlee: they should be defaults since I haven't touched them
Aug 30, 2015 8:46 PM - Bill Monroe: robbie print #7, best one yet
    Aug 30, 2015 8:46 PM - stahlee: it's the latest firmware
    Aug 30, 2015 8:46 PM - stahlee: i think jerk is 17
    Aug 30, 2015 8:47 PM - PeterkSharma: Just a sec
    Aug 30, 2015 8:49 PM - PeterkSharma: [IMG]
Aug 30, 2015 8:49 PM - Bill Monroe: whoa.. I need to absorb that
Aug 30, 2015 8:50 PM - Bill Monroe: cya in the morning
    Aug 30, 2015 8:50 PM - bamhm182: Haha, later Bill
Aug 30, 2015 8:50 PM - stahlee: ok, I'll look at those tomorrow
    Aug 30, 2015 8:50 PM - stahlee: i'm pretty sure jerk is 17
    Aug 30, 2015 8:50 PM - stahlee: cya bill
Aug 30, 2015 8:50 PM - bamhm182: I just replaced my z-steppers with my old ones, so hopefully Robbie print #3 is better than #1/2
Aug 30, 2015 8:51 PM - stahlee: what issue caused you to change them
Aug 30, 2015 8:52 PM - bamhm182: On second thought, maybe not. I'm still getting some pretty good ribbing with these ones. :/
    Aug 30, 2015 8:52 PM - bamhm182: I like to break things, haha
    Aug 30, 2015 8:52 PM - stahlee: nice
Aug 30, 2015 8:52 PM - PeterkSharma: did you do leadscrew update?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:52 PM - stahlee: :)
Aug 30, 2015 8:52 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, as well as a handful of other things
    Aug 30, 2015 8:53 PM - stahlee: the leadscrew unzips to Robo3DPlusV1
Aug 30, 2015 8:53 PM - stahlee: isn't that for the new leadscrew on the new model
Aug 30, 2015 8:53 PM - stahlee: I installed that and my z axis was so damn slow
    Aug 30, 2015 8:53 PM - stahlee: half speed
Aug 30, 2015 8:53 PM - bamhm182: Then I noticed that the prints were coming out really ribbed, and I blamed it on the leadscrew upgrade, but since I just put back in my old steppers and they're coming out ribbed to, I'm thinking it might be something else
Aug 30, 2015 8:54 PM - bamhm182: Do you have the ones with the couplers, or the new ones?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:54 PM - stahlee: couplers
Aug 30, 2015 8:54 PM - stahlee: just bought it
    Aug 30, 2015 8:54 PM - stahlee: a few weeks back
Aug 30, 2015 8:54 PM - stahlee: didn't the original have direct connects?
    Aug 30, 2015 8:55 PM - bamhm182: There are a few different firmwares
Aug 30, 2015 8:55 PM - bamhm182: Main changes that I've seen are in the steps
    Aug 30, 2015 8:55 PM - PeterkSharma: steps/mm
    Aug 30, 2015 8:55 PM - bamhm182: The new ones have z-steps set to 800. The 8mm couplers have z-steps set to 2560
Aug 30, 2015 8:56 PM - PeterkSharma: lol yeah sounds like a big difference
    Aug 30, 2015 8:56 PM - bamhm182: Just a little. :p
Aug 30, 2015 8:56 PM - PeterkSharma: has anyone seen the threadless ballscrews?
Aug 30, 2015 8:57 PM - PeterkSharma: bam, you do the v6? Are you running dual? i cant rmemeber
    Aug 30, 2015 8:57 PM - stahlee: here's what I have https://app.box.com/s/p3yprz7i7xn9szq2kg4njcfdjwx0vzau
Aug 30, 2015 8:57 PM - bamhm182: I was having some issues with the steps tonight. Tossed back in the old steppers and needed to change my z-steps to 5120(I have 1/32 stepper drivers instead of the stock 1/16), but after flashing the firmware a handful of times, it refused to get off of 1600 (again, 1/32, so double the steps)
    Aug 30, 2015 8:57 PM - bamhm182: I've just got the stock hex
Aug 30, 2015 8:58 PM - bamhm182: I tried upgrading to the cyclops, then so many headaches...
Aug 30, 2015 8:58 PM - bamhm182: I plan on trying it again in the future
    Aug 30, 2015 8:58 PM - bamhm182: Maybe once I win this new Robo. ^_^
    Aug 30, 2015 8:59 PM - stahlee: that's the newer couplers?
Aug 30, 2015 8:59 PM - bamhm182: I saw someone talking about them in the thread about the leadscrew upgrades, then MK mentioned they would be complete overkill for 3d printers
    Aug 30, 2015 9:00 PM - bamhm182: [IMG]
Aug 30, 2015 9:00 PM - PeterkSharma: what would be overkill
Aug 30, 2015 9:00 PM - bamhm182: So there are some steppers that have a coupler to connect to the stepper driver, like the one in that picture. That is the older style

    Aug 30, 2015 9:00 PM - bamhm182: The threadless ballscrews, my bad
Aug 30, 2015 9:01 PM - stahlee: ok, so i do have the newer
Aug 30, 2015 9:01 PM - PeterkSharma: its at my parrents house, i have to go grab em
    Aug 30, 2015 9:01 PM - bamhm182: They're currently starting to make it look like this http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?threads/lead-screw-upgrade-kit.6244/
Aug 30, 2015 9:01 PM - bamhm182: So the leadscrew goes directly into the stepper without a coupler
Aug 30, 2015 9:02 PM - bamhm182: In theory, that should reduce ribbing because they're more stable than the coupled leadscrews that can wobble
Aug 30, 2015 9:02 PM - PeterkSharma: you can get the new coupler to prevent ribbon as well
Aug 30, 2015 9:03 PM - bamhm182: I just bought some geared steppers since and am planning on printing some hercustruders. I don't want to even think about attacking Bowden again before I get this ribbing issue fixed though
    Aug 30, 2015 9:03 PM - bamhm182: New coupler?
Aug 30, 2015 9:04 PM - stahlee: ok, so that's the model that will be in the new R1 Plus
    Aug 30, 2015 9:04 PM - bamhm182: Maybe, but I'm not 100% sure
Aug 30, 2015 9:05 PM - bamhm182: I believe that they will be, but again, not sure
    Aug 30, 2015 9:06 PM - PeterkSharma:
Aug 30, 2015 9:06 PM - PeterkSharma: for the coupler
    Aug 30, 2015 9:10 PM - stahlee: ok, I'm off to bed
    Aug 30, 2015 9:10 PM - stahlee: night all
Aug 30, 2015 9:10 PM - stahlee: i'll be back on tomorrow night trying to get to the bottom of this issue
Aug 30, 2015 9:14 PM - bamhm182: Hadn't seen that, PeterkSharma. I like Novice Expert's videos, seems like he knows what he's talking about
    Aug 30, 2015 9:14 PM - PeterkSharma: night man
Aug 30, 2015 9:14 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah, he sure does
    Aug 30, 2015 9:14 PM - PeterkSharma: its a good video huh?
    Aug 30, 2015 9:15 PM - bamhm182: Yeah
Aug 30, 2015 9:16 PM - bamhm182: They're linked on Amazon too for $5 each. Might have to give those a try.
Aug 30, 2015 9:16 PM - PeterkSharma: i got the new robo leadscrew so im going so the coupler to see if i can make the z height 600mm
    Aug 30, 2015 9:16 PM - bamhm182: It's weird that I didn't have ribbing issues before, but I do now though
    Aug 30, 2015 9:17 PM - bamhm182: Makes me wonder what I screwed up...
Aug 30, 2015 9:17 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah, maybe its not tight?
    Aug 30, 2015 9:19 PM - Mike Glass: z smooth rods move?
Aug 30, 2015 9:20 PM - PeterkSharma: MG have you head of threadless ballscrew?
Aug 30, 2015 9:22 PM - Blake Benefield: Hictop came with that style... Ill probably just buy integrated lead screws for both it and the robo
    Aug 30, 2015 9:23 PM - bamhm182: New leadscrews: [IMG]
    Aug 30, 2015 9:23 PM - bamhm182: Old Couplers: [IMG]
    Aug 30, 2015 9:24 PM - bamhm182: Before I tried going to Bow'fn'den:[IMG]
Aug 30, 2015 9:25 PM - bamhm182: My bad for sucking up the whole page of chat
Aug 30, 2015 9:25 PM - bamhm182: I feel like maybe my issue still lays with the stepper drivers...
Aug 30, 2015 9:29 PM - PeterkSharma: so you swapped to leadscrew and got ribboning?
Aug 30, 2015 9:29 PM - PeterkSharma: This one i think is over my head, sounds like a bill/MG/MK question
Aug 30, 2015 9:42 PM - bamhm182: Yeah, but then I swapped back the the ribbing is worse
    Aug 30, 2015 9:43 PM - bamhm182: It's probably something else I did
Aug 30, 2015 9:43 PM - bamhm182: I tried changing the calibration on my drivers again just now and am going to print something to see if it changed anything
    Aug 30, 2015 9:43 PM - bamhm182: *and the
Aug 30, 2015 9:52 PM - PeterkSharma: you flash back to stock firmware?
Aug 30, 2015 9:52 PM - PeterkSharma: if you need it
    Aug 30, 2015 9:52 PM - PeterkSharma: http://guide.robo3d.com/
    Aug 30, 2015 9:53 PM - bamhm182: I've got a modified version of the most recent firmware
Aug 30, 2015 9:53 PM - bamhm182: Only thing that's modified is where I doubled the steps to account for my replacement of the 1/16 drivers with the 1/32 drivers
Aug 30, 2015 9:55 PM - PeterkSharma: what version of ramps?
    Aug 30, 2015 9:55 PM - PeterkSharma: i head 1.2 or 1.3 has aot of problems
Aug 30, 2015 9:55 PM - PeterkSharma: cant exactly rememeber what one
    Aug 30, 2015 9:57 PM - bamhm182: I'm using a completely different board
    Aug 30, 2015 9:58 PM - PeterkSharma: smoothie?
    Aug 30, 2015 9:58 PM - bamhm182: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PVF5SWE
Aug 30, 2015 9:59 PM - PeterkSharma: how do you like it?
Aug 30, 2015 9:59 PM - bamhm182: Depends on where this ribbing issue lies. :p
    Aug 30, 2015 9:59 PM - bamhm182: I think it's awesome
Aug 30, 2015 10:00 PM - PeterkSharma: hahah, why was the reason for the swap?
Aug 30, 2015 10:01 PM - bamhm182: The only issue I have/had with it is that it's form factor is very different than a RAMPS with a Mega, so I had to print an adapter for it while it was hanging out of the case. It also makes accessing the USB difficult
Aug 30, 2015 10:01 PM - bamhm182: I liked the layout of it and came across it when I was looking for a new Mega to buy
Aug 30, 2015 10:02 PM - bamhm182: I blew one of the chips on my original Mega, then I bought a new Mega and that Sainsmart at the same time. When putting it together, somehow the voltage regulator blew on the new Mega, so I just jumped straight into the sainsmart
Aug 30, 2015 10:03 PM - bamhm182: The original Mega was fried when I missed the headers for one of the stepper drivers (doh!) I still have no idea how the second Mega fried
Aug 30, 2015 10:03 PM - PeterkSharma: i have a ton of Pi's lying around but no software to use them for boards
Aug 30, 2015 10:03 PM - bamhm182: Would it even be possible to do that?
Aug 30, 2015 10:03 PM - PeterkSharma: So I'm trying to talk a buddy of mine in to writing me a 3d printer PS
    Aug 30, 2015 10:04 PM - PeterkSharma: yeah totally
Aug 30, 2015 10:04 PM - PeterkSharma: it would be way overkill
Aug 30, 2015 10:04 PM - PeterkSharma: its like a 900 MHZ quad core with 1 gig ram
Aug 30, 2015 10:04 PM - PeterkSharma: so i was going to try and put a slicer on it. I was going to use the raspian os
Aug 30, 2015 10:05 PM - PeterkSharma: there is a guy who has already done it for a college project
    Aug 30, 2015 10:08 PM - bamhm182: You mean OS?
    Aug 30, 2015 10:08 PM - bamhm182: Haha, sweet
Aug 30, 2015 10:09 PM - bamhm182: I know about the Octoprint, didn't know how running one entirely off the Pi would go
Aug 30, 2015 10:10 PM - PeterkSharma: i think we are going to have to do some coding for it
Aug 30, 2015 10:10 PM - PeterkSharma: We are going to start easy and do a single axis SLA printer
Aug 30, 2015 10:10 PM - bamhm182: Well, calibrated my X and Y a little better (I think) and the ribbing is still there
Aug 30, 2015 10:10 PM - PeterkSharma: then see how many motors the pi can really control. From a processing standpoint we can do a lot on it
Aug 30, 2015 10:10 PM - PeterkSharma: man that is rough.
Aug 30, 2015 10:11 PM - bamhm182: Might try tightening the belts and seeing what happens, but for now I should probably head to bed.
    Aug 30, 2015 10:11 PM - PeterkSharma: night man
Aug 30, 2015 10:11 PM - bamhm182: Got another part of Robbie from Harry, but I'd really like to get this ribbing issue fixed before trying to print it...
Aug 30, 2015 10:34 PM - bamhm182: I wonder if ribbing changing with filament is something that is seen often... I changed from this white to red and didn't touch anything else, but the ribbing seems to have gotten a lot better...
Aug 30, 2015 10:39 PM - bamhm182: Actually, you know what, I think the ribbing may have always been there, it's just a lot easier to see in white
Aug 31, 2015 3:40 AM - janot928: about the octoprint, i am running it of my pi B+ and it works great. it is verry usefull because you don´t need do have a dedicated computer running beside the 3D printer
    Aug 31, 2015 3:41 AM - janot928: and i find it verry usefull
Aug 31, 2015 3:41 AM - janot928: but i still prefer to have my own computer beside for troubleshooting
    Aug 31, 2015 3:41 AM - janot928: works better
    Aug 31, 2015 5:32 AM - jbigler1986: morning
    Aug 31, 2015 5:41 AM - janot928: yo
    Aug 31, 2015 5:49 AM - jbigler1986: what's up
    Aug 31, 2015 5:57 AM - Bill Monroe: morning
    Aug 31, 2015 6:01 AM - jbigler1986: morning bill
Aug 31, 2015 6:01 AM - Bill Monroe: how do you feel?
Aug 31, 2015 6:04 AM - daniel871: Stupid rainy weather and arthritic aches and pains.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:05 AM - jbigler1986: i'm good. not sick anymore. thank god
Aug 31, 2015 6:05 AM - daniel871: Laughed at this today though: [IMG]
Aug 31, 2015 6:06 AM - Bill Monroe: good to hear, Justin
    Aug 31, 2015 6:06 AM - daniel871: How's the Robo, jb?
Aug 31, 2015 6:06 AM - Bill Monroe: got all the power rails, estop, and enable circuits installed on the router
Aug 31, 2015 6:07 AM - jbigler1986: it looks like it will be ok. Had to much to do and it was to late when I actually got it last night to check. I will dive into it tonight though
Aug 31, 2015 6:08 AM - daniel871: Contact limit switches or those fancy/finicky light sensing limits that stop the machine if the sensor is blinded?
    Aug 31, 2015 6:08 AM - daniel871: Hopefully yours is undamaged, jb.

    Aug 31, 2015 6:09 AM - JeffTheMess: morning roboneers
    Aug 31, 2015 6:09 AM - Bill Monroe: Jeff
Aug 31, 2015 6:10 AM - JeffTheMess: JB got his printer back?
    Aug 31, 2015 6:10 AM - Bill Monroe: yup
    Aug 31, 2015 6:12 AM - jbigler1986: yes i did
    Aug 31, 2015 6:13 AM - JeffTheMess: Nice!
Aug 31, 2015 6:13 AM - jbigler1986: it pissed the ex wife off when the judge told her to give me the stuff i requested
Aug 31, 2015 6:13 AM - JeffTheMess: Anybody thought of adding encoders with the steppers? I was reading about it this weekeknd
Aug 31, 2015 6:13 AM - jbigler1986: only victory of the day unfortunately
Aug 31, 2015 6:14 AM - JeffTheMess: That sucks jb,
Aug 31, 2015 6:14 AM - JeffTheMess: is it all over now?
Aug 31, 2015 6:14 AM - daniel871: I think for my Robo I'm just going to fiddle with some adjustments to the speed/jerk settings and run through and re-tighten everything again (don't see why nylock nuts should loosen after they were tightened before, but whatever) and if that doesn't work, the Robo is going to collect dust until I can afford a better printer.
Aug 31, 2015 6:14 AM - Bill Monroe: if the encoders are not reading the position of the table directly, they are no better than not using them at all
Aug 31, 2015 6:15 AM - JeffTheMess: I was just thinking about it on how a paper printer uses cheaper dc motors with encoders might be a feasible thing in the near future
    Aug 31, 2015 6:16 AM - Bill Monroe: ya, that's called a servo system
Aug 31, 2015 6:16 AM - Bill Monroe: it was in use long before steppers were available
Aug 31, 2015 6:17 AM - Bill Monroe: a servo system as value if 1. the encoders are directly reading the controlled movement.. on other words, not attached to the motor and..
Aug 31, 2015 6:17 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah I know I wonder if anyone thought about it before going straight to the steppers
Aug 31, 2015 6:17 AM - Bill Monroe: 2. there is a possibility that resistance during movement, or a poorly designed mechanism might cause an error
Aug 31, 2015 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: steppers are a MUCH less expensive and simpler system than serovs
Aug 31, 2015 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: err servos
    Aug 31, 2015 6:18 AM - JeffTheMess: cool
Aug 31, 2015 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: accuracy is not an issue, is a system such as a 3D printer there *should* be no chance of varying resistances during normal operations so, servos are a waste
Aug 31, 2015 6:19 AM - Bill Monroe: that being said, I'm putting servos on my router :)
    Aug 31, 2015 6:20 AM - daniel871: Man, the Ultimaker 2 Extended is expensive.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:20 AM - JeffTheMess: UM2E is worth it I hear
Aug 31, 2015 6:21 AM - daniel871: Figure if I'm saving up for a printer, might as well save up for that one.
Aug 31, 2015 6:21 AM - daniel871: It'll be next year post tax returns though.
Aug 31, 2015 6:22 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah then UM3E will be out and more expensive lol
    Aug 31, 2015 6:23 AM - daniel871: If Leapfrog wasn't notorious for terrible build issues I'd get this. http://www.amazon.com/Leapfrog-Assembled-Dimensions-Resolution-Laybrick/dp/B00JXOMHIC

Aug 31, 2015 6:27 AM - daniel871: JB, did you use MIG drive rollers for your drive gears?
Aug 31, 2015 6:27 AM - jbigler1986: @jeff, it's far from over. Only had an hour with the Judge. Next time we get a whole day
Aug 31, 2015 6:27 AM - daniel871: I'm trying to find one to try because that goofy Tatsu gear chews filament like no tomorrow.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:27 AM - jbigler1986: i did not. just the mk8 drive gears
Aug 31, 2015 6:28 AM - daniel871: Also the stepper motor having an 8mm shaft made drilling the hole out a nail biting experience.
Aug 31, 2015 6:29 AM - daniel871: Amazon search is getting irritating as well, that or nobody makes any drive gears for 8mm shafts.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:34 AM - daniel871: Found this via google, but they're out of stock. http://makercoast.com/product/hobbed-drive-gear
Aug 31, 2015 6:35 AM - jbigler1986: these are the ones I have and they work great. 1 sec

    Aug 31, 2015 6:37 AM - jbigler1986: 8mm bore
    Aug 31, 2015 6:37 AM - daniel871: Found them. Thanks JB.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:37 AM - daniel871: (scrolled down until I saw 8mm bore on the description)
    Aug 31, 2015 6:38 AM - jbigler1986: good price too
Aug 31, 2015 6:43 AM - daniel871: Yeah, went ahead and ordered one.
Aug 31, 2015 6:44 AM - daniel871: I've already got a regular MK7 drilled out for the 6mm shaft on the other stepper (not sure why they came with different shafts, they had the same torque/gear/etc. ratings but one has a 6mm shaft vs. an 8mm shaft).
Aug 31, 2015 6:45 AM - daniel871: Also both tested moving the same amount of filament on the same esteps when I had tatsu gears on both of them.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:46 AM - jbigler1986: yeah i have one with a 6mm shaft and one with a 8mm shaft as well. I'm using a spacer on the 6mm one
    Aug 31, 2015 6:46 AM - jbigler1986: I'm using the 2 of those drive gears from tridprinting
    Aug 31, 2015 6:47 AM - daniel871: Weird that they have different shafts, but w/e I guess.
Aug 31, 2015 6:48 AM - jbigler1986: well mine have different body sizes as well. steps are the same though
Aug 31, 2015 6:49 AM - daniel871: Did we buy from the same Amazon supplier?
Aug 31, 2015 6:49 AM - daniel871: Also saw where bam is having the same ribbing issues I am.
Aug 31, 2015 6:51 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. both were from stepper online. i knew they were 2 different ones. just the shaft and body size were different. all other specs were the same
    Aug 31, 2015 6:51 AM - jbigler1986: should have got them elsewhere
Aug 31, 2015 6:51 AM - jim3Dbot: Back in the day 70's....I worked a few years for a co in Pittsburgh....CSR..Control System Research....now Cleveland Tool.......specticilized in angular motion.....1st was steppers...then closed loop servos.......resolvers......optical glass encoders, coarse & fine resolvers with fine gears....then finally inductosyns...the very accurate
Aug 31, 2015 6:53 AM - daniel871: Going to make sure my speeds/jerk settings match Bill's settings that were posted last night in the shoutbox just to make sure it doesn't come down to firmware issues (since all of Bill's prints look great).
Aug 31, 2015 6:53 AM - jim3Dbot: They all were connected machanically to the motor movement..mechanically manufactured in a housing called the Feedback Package...you were very accurately recording motor position & not table or whwat have you position.
Aug 31, 2015 6:54 AM - Bill Monroe: there's more to than speeds and jerks
Aug 31, 2015 6:54 AM - jbigler1986: i jacked up my speed/jerk and have no ribbing. seems as though its the rods
Aug 31, 2015 6:55 AM - daniel871: Yeah I'm 99% sure it's the rods, that's more just to make sure there's nothing software-wise that is messing me up.
Aug 31, 2015 6:55 AM - daniel871: Also because there is an audible vibration noise once the carriage goes above 60mm from the bed.
Aug 31, 2015 6:56 AM - jbigler1986: luckily my case isn't on my rods. which is good bc otherwise i think they would have gotten bent during whatever roller coaster ride my printer has been on
Aug 31, 2015 6:56 AM - daniel871: It's hard to see it when looking at the rods themselves though.
Aug 31, 2015 6:57 AM - daniel871: Less like they're bent than not mounted truly perpendicular to the motor. So that the leadscrews move in a very, very slight cone of motion vs. a bent warping motion.
Aug 31, 2015 6:58 AM - daniel871: And it gets gradually worse as you go up the leadscrews, which makes sense if they're on a slight tilt.
    Aug 31, 2015 6:58 AM - jim3Dbot: when rods are bent carrage will go with it...try locking servos....wiggle z rods & watch carrage move...unnecessary slop...IMO
Aug 31, 2015 6:58 AM - jbigler1986: should have gotten them from amazon. not at long as others and a little more work to get installed. but 0 issues with them
Aug 31, 2015 6:59 AM - JeffTheMess: finally finished the body of my quad, now just gotta glue it plater the seams and hit it with coat of rubber
Aug 31, 2015 6:59 AM - daniel871: Yeah, I know JB. Was bitching at length about that last night.
Aug 31, 2015 7:00 AM - daniel871: The bit that kills me about the whole thing is how anyone that actually works for Robo acts like bent leadscrews or cracked glass beds are rare unicorn problems that make no sense, so they'll sell you new ones at a slightly lower price or just tell you that you have to buy new parts.
Aug 31, 2015 7:01 AM - daniel871: In spite of just about every day someone new complaining about those issues here and on their FB page and in the Robo3D Owners group.
Aug 31, 2015 7:01 AM - jbigler1986: yep. That is why I am not helping out Robo anymore
Aug 31, 2015 7:03 AM - JeffTheMess: does robo still have the "24/7 phone support"?
Aug 31, 2015 7:03 AM - jbigler1986: i will help people if they show up here. not helping on the forums though
Aug 31, 2015 7:03 AM - daniel871: Never knew they had it to begin with.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:04 AM - daniel871: Always used email contact that had a 3-4 day delay
Aug 31, 2015 7:04 AM - jbigler1986: Jerry has always gotten back to me same day
Aug 31, 2015 7:04 AM - daniel871: If I can get a print to finish without failing too horribly I think I will send it in for the CES thing with a note saying "This is why I need the R1"
Aug 31, 2015 7:04 AM - jbigler1986: He is the only one that has been great to work with
Aug 31, 2015 7:05 AM - daniel871: Jerry was the one that told me cracked glass beds were due to getting too solid a 1st layer.
Aug 31, 2015 7:05 AM - jbigler1986: yeah that was just not a smart comment there
Aug 31, 2015 7:06 AM - daniel871: I'm getting great bed adhesion with that PEI sheet by the way. Just can't get anything to print without ribbing.
Aug 31, 2015 7:06 AM - JeffTheMess: does the bed have to be glass?
Aug 31, 2015 7:06 AM - daniel871: Well. I've already dropped $70 getting it replaced from Robo, I'm not buying another one.
Aug 31, 2015 7:07 AM - daniel871: Also the PEI protects it pretty well.
Aug 31, 2015 7:07 AM - daniel871: And those Palette knives I bought get prints off the PEI without too much trouble now.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:07 AM - jbigler1986: i have an extra glass bed
    Aug 31, 2015 7:08 AM - jbigler1986: Doesn't have to be glass
Aug 31, 2015 7:08 AM - daniel871: Anything not glass would be a custom made job, Jeff.
Aug 31, 2015 7:08 AM - daniel871: Unless Robo is going to move to an aluminum build plate/better heating element/whatever combination.
Aug 31, 2015 7:10 AM - JeffTheMess: ive seen Aluminum cheaper than the $80 bed glass that robo sells
Aug 31, 2015 7:11 AM - daniel871: Kind of wish the Robo's bed was made more like what I've seen of how the HIC machine.
Aug 31, 2015 7:11 AM - daniel871: Stationary rods, bearings move back and forth.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:12 AM - jbigler1986: customize it
    Aug 31, 2015 7:12 AM - jbigler1986: where the heck is don
Aug 31, 2015 7:12 AM - daniel871: I'm a little reluctant to put too much more money in it.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:13 AM - daniel871: Starting to feel like I did when I owned a Chrysler.

Aug 31, 2015 7:14 AM - daniel871: Always having to pay to repair something or fix something electronic on that thing.
Aug 31, 2015 7:16 AM - jbigler1986: i like messing with it honestly. so it doesn't bother me
Aug 31, 2015 7:18 AM - daniel871: Actually messing with it wouldn't bother me if the base printer wasn't discovered to be a half-put-together mess to start with.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:19 AM - jbigler1986: that's what you get sub $1k for such a large build volume
Aug 31, 2015 7:19 AM - daniel871: When I went to do the leadscrew upgrade I discovered that literally none of the locknuts inside the unit were tight. They were just threaded on and not even tightened up against the body of the printer.
Aug 31, 2015 7:19 AM - JeffTheMess: did anyone talk to MG about the y clips if he can make them?
    Aug 31, 2015 7:19 AM - daniel871: I don't know if anyone brought it up.
Aug 31, 2015 7:20 AM - daniel871: I know it'd be a neat source of pocket change for him to make some out of aluminum and sell.
Aug 31, 2015 7:20 AM - daniel871: Assuming tooling/setup wasn't more expensive than he would want to charge for them where they'd actually sell.
Aug 31, 2015 7:21 AM - daniel871: Could probably streamline the design where instead of inserting a nut he just has it tapped for the screw and with a place to loop the belt through and tighten up for tensioning.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:22 AM - JeffTheMess: does 3dhub have cnc people?
Aug 31, 2015 7:24 AM - jbigler1986: he was asked about it. Not sure how far the convo went though
Aug 31, 2015 7:24 AM - daniel871: Only technically, since 3d printers are CNC machines.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:24 AM - daniel871: :p
Aug 31, 2015 7:24 AM - daniel871: He probably didn't want to deal with the headache.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:24 AM - JeffTheMess: lol
Aug 31, 2015 7:26 AM - daniel871: The best way to make money from it would be to design it and present it to Braydon as something to roll out for upgrades. Sell to Robo and let Robo sell in turn that way he doesn't have to directly deal with some of the dumber people that would buy it.
Aug 31, 2015 7:27 AM - daniel871: Like someone I saw on FB a while back extruding PLA at 250 and wondering why it was going to Hell.
Aug 31, 2015 7:27 AM - JeffTheMess: Stainless stell on shapeways for just one 17.17
    Aug 31, 2015 7:27 AM - JeffTheMess: steel*
    Aug 31, 2015 7:28 AM - jbigler1986: Robo wouldn't buy it. That's just how they are
Aug 31, 2015 7:28 AM - daniel871: $15 on 3dhubs for lost-PLA casting in Aluminum, but that hub never delivered and I managed to get it refunded.
Aug 31, 2015 7:28 AM - jbigler1986: they need to fix the autolevel setup bc it sucks
    Aug 31, 2015 7:28 AM - daniel871: Fix the bed setup first.
Aug 31, 2015 7:29 AM - daniel871: If there was any leveling adjustment in the bed you could fix most of the auto-level problem.
Aug 31, 2015 7:29 AM - daniel871: Shimming is bullshit, there should be screw adjustments like 99% of the other printers out there.
    Aug 31, 2015 7:30 AM - jbigler1986: screw adjust I agree.
Aug 31, 2015 7:36 AM - daniel871: Then you could actually level the bed with an actual level, then level the X-axis properly with it, then lock everything in place and hopefully not have any more issues.
Aug 31, 2015 7:36 AM - daniel871: LOL at the Leapfrog printers not having any limit switches on them at the price they charge.
Aug 31, 2015 7:37 AM - daniel871: (according to some of the reviews talking about the printer grinding into the axis limits when homing)
Aug 31, 2015 7:37 AM - daniel871: (and discovering no switches and it being an issue with the printer expecting to be at the other end of the limit when "homing")
Aug 31, 2015 7:38 AM - daniel871: How that would even work baffles me.
Aug 31, 2015 7:43 AM - JeffTheMess: useless but cool
    Aug 31, 2015 7:47 AM - daniel871: Hm. http://printrbot.com/shop/assembled-printrbot-plus-with-dual-extuder/
Aug 31, 2015 7:48 AM - daniel871: I like all of the "NOT FOR BEGINNERS, IF YOU ARE NOT A 3D PRINTING WIZARD GET THE SINGLE PRINT HEAD" stuff.
Aug 31, 2015 7:49 AM - daniel871: That one has an actual probe on it.
    Aug 31, 2015 8:17 AM - Bill Monroe: MG
Aug 31, 2015 8:17 AM - Mike Glass: hey Bill
Aug 31, 2015 8:18 AM - Bill Monroe: what it be?
Aug 31, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Glass: it would be that im at work. :(
    Aug 31, 2015 8:19 AM - Bill Monroe: :(
Aug 31, 2015 8:19 AM - Bill Monroe: I'm about to head there myself
Aug 31, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Glass: Banker hours?
Aug 31, 2015 8:20 AM - Bill Monroe: i dont really have hours per se
Aug 31, 2015 8:21 AM - Mike Glass: I just need to work from home more, I get more done without all the interuptions.
    Aug 31, 2015 8:21 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. I agree
Aug 31, 2015 8:22 AM - Bill Monroe: but my company wants me to lead more projects..
Aug 31, 2015 8:22 AM - Mike Glass: I just tell them, "google it" document it and get a clue..
Aug 31, 2015 8:23 AM - Bill Monroe: I am resisting, but it's getting more and more futile
Aug 31, 2015 8:23 AM - Mike Glass: would'nt that make it harder to retire.
Aug 31, 2015 8:24 AM - JeffTheMess: easier to say im retiring now!
    Aug 31, 2015 8:26 AM - Bill Monroe: harder?
    Aug 31, 2015 8:26 AM - Bill Monroe: https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/tls/5172376586.html
Aug 31, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Glass: kinda small
Aug 31, 2015 8:33 AM - Bill Monroe: about the same as a tormach.. only it's still servicable as a manual mill, and it's less than 1/2 the price
    Aug 31, 2015 8:33 AM - jbigler1986: people are so dumb
Aug 31, 2015 8:34 AM - Bill Monroe: and..... glass scales on the table..
Aug 31, 2015 8:34 AM - Bill Monroe: I sent him an email
Aug 31, 2015 8:35 AM - Mike Glass: glass scales?
Aug 31, 2015 8:37 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. classic mill encoders, often used on DROs
Aug 31, 2015 8:38 AM - Bill Monroe: in other words, the controller monitors the table, not the motors :)
Aug 31, 2015 8:38 AM - Mike Glass: looks like its in great shape, not bad price.
Aug 31, 2015 8:41 AM - Bill Monroe: like new
    Aug 31, 2015 8:41 AM - Bill Monroe: 8 hr drive
    Aug 31, 2015 8:41 AM - Bill Monroe: 6 from Joshua Tree
    Aug 31, 2015 8:42 AM - Mike Glass: Those servo's are huge
    Aug 31, 2015 8:43 AM - Bill Monroe: oh i lied y travel is 9.5 instead of 9, X travel is 49 instead of 18
Aug 31, 2015 8:43 AM - Mike Glass: You need a 4 axis also. [IMG]
Aug 31, 2015 8:43 AM - Bill Monroe: well, I dont *need* one.. but the controller here could hanndle it
Aug 31, 2015 8:44 AM - Mike Glass: yep, now offer 6500 and tell him you will there at 7 to pick it up..
Aug 31, 2015 8:45 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. it was posted 19 days ago.. if he still has it, might be motivated
Aug 31, 2015 8:47 AM - Mike Glass: how do you even move a machine that big
Aug 31, 2015 8:48 AM - Bill Monroe: you channel egyptian slave ingenuity
Aug 31, 2015 8:49 AM - Bill Monroe: and use lots of comme-alongs, 4X4s and racheting tie downs :)
Aug 31, 2015 8:49 AM - Mike Glass: found a tormach here, bit spendy. http://bozeman.craigslist.org/tls/5185707338.html
Aug 31, 2015 8:50 AM - Mike Glass: and it looks like shit, all tormachs I have seen look like shit though, like the metal they use is not protected very well.

Aug 31, 2015 8:53 AM - daniel871: I like how someone put "JUDY" on that Tormach.
Aug 31, 2015 8:53 AM - daniel871: "Are you done fucking around with JUDY yet? Dinner is ready!"
Aug 31, 2015 8:54 AM - Bill Monroe: Just You Doit Yourself
Aug 31, 2015 8:54 AM - Bill Monroe: ok, time to make an appearence at work
Aug 31, 2015 8:55 AM - Mike Glass: haha or judge judy
    Aug 31, 2015 9:08 AM - jbigler1986: Bill. Rookie mistake
    Aug 31, 2015 9:09 AM - jbigler1986: I see your plate #
Aug 31, 2015 9:12 AM - Mike Glass: thats not his trailer
    Aug 31, 2015 9:14 AM - jbigler1986: u sure
Aug 31, 2015 9:15 AM - JeffTheMess: (he's just saying that to hide the fact it is his lol)
    Aug 31, 2015 9:17 AM - jbigler1986: i need dons dual carriage files
    Aug 31, 2015 9:18 AM - jbigler1986: anyone have his email?
    Aug 31, 2015 9:19 AM - Mike Glass: huevonuts@hotomaly.com
    Aug 31, 2015 9:20 AM - jbigler1986: lol
Aug 31, 2015 9:27 AM - jbigler1986: "Saw the ad for the new Robo R1+. It was short on facts, but I did notice that the Z threaded rails were black and had 'solid' couplings. "
    Aug 31, 2015 9:27 AM - jbigler1986: Facepalm

Aug 31, 2015 9:29 AM - jbigler1986: why the fuck do they have some kind of coupler on the threaded rod? aren't they supposed to be integrated?
Aug 31, 2015 9:31 AM - donhuevo: probably an old stock photo
    Aug 31, 2015 9:32 AM - jbigler1986: hola

Aug 31, 2015 9:33 AM - jbigler1986: nevermind. just checked mine. thank you sir
    Aug 31, 2015 9:33 AM - donhuevo: welcome
Aug 31, 2015 9:34 AM - jbigler1986: one of the threaded caps was still on the bed. lol
Aug 31, 2015 9:34 AM - jbigler1986: that was the last thing i was printing
    Aug 31, 2015 9:35 AM - donhuevo: haha nice!
Aug 31, 2015 9:35 AM - donhuevo: everything seem in good order?
Aug 31, 2015 9:43 AM - Blake Benefield: Friend of mine in Illiniois has several old turret lathes etc. Including one of the ones used to bore the 5" guns on the old battleships and destroyers. Had to build an extension on the back of his shop to install it lol
    Aug 31, 2015 9:44 AM - jbigler1986: yeah
Aug 31, 2015 9:44 AM - donhuevo: so he could make his own porch-mount cannons
Aug 31, 2015 9:48 AM - Blake Benefield: He's just an old blacksmith guy. Never know what kinda project he's gonna work on.
Aug 31, 2015 9:48 AM - jbigler1986: yeah it seemed like everything will be ok
Aug 31, 2015 9:48 AM - jbigler1986: havent taken it out of the box yet
Aug 31, 2015 9:50 AM - donhuevo: well, he could be an old blacksmith guy with some very well-behaved neighbors
    Aug 31, 2015 9:51 AM - jbigler1986: how were your weekends
Aug 31, 2015 9:52 AM - donhuevo: eh... golf scramble Saturday and our annual pharmacist's meeting Sunday. Not really my own
Aug 31, 2015 9:53 AM - JeffTheMess: anybody know of a good cad search website?
    Aug 31, 2015 9:53 AM - jbigler1986: golf sounds fun though
    Aug 31, 2015 9:53 AM - jbigler1986: grabcad
    Aug 31, 2015 9:54 AM - Mike Glass: yeggi.com
Aug 31, 2015 9:54 AM - donhuevo: it was fun til the Advil wore off.
Aug 31, 2015 9:54 AM - Mike Glass: Hey don, question for you.
Aug 31, 2015 9:54 AM - JeffTheMess: I know of that, theres another that looks through all websites
    Aug 31, 2015 9:55 AM - donhuevo: shoot mg
Aug 31, 2015 9:55 AM - Mike Glass: on the car mount you worked on, the one I have converted, how does the v6 stay in.
    Aug 31, 2015 9:56 AM - donhuevo: the snap-in clip
Aug 31, 2015 9:56 AM - jbigler1986: just like your other one right?
Aug 31, 2015 9:56 AM - Mike Glass: ok so just the top holds it in? the bottom is loose and flush.
Aug 31, 2015 9:57 AM - Mike Glass: the bottom of the heatsink
Aug 31, 2015 9:57 AM - donhuevo: yep, that was the plan
    Aug 31, 2015 9:57 AM - donhuevo: [IMG]
    Aug 31, 2015 9:57 AM - donhuevo: basically flush
    Aug 31, 2015 9:59 AM - jbigler1986: did you install the igus lm8uu?
Aug 31, 2015 10:00 AM - donhuevo: they should be showing up today
    Aug 31, 2015 10:02 AM - jbigler1986: was that picture not yours?
Aug 31, 2015 10:03 AM - donhuevo: this is my picture but I only grabbed it because of the clippy thing
    Aug 31, 2015 10:04 AM - jbigler1986: i meant the igus lm8uu that you posted
Aug 31, 2015 10:04 AM - donhuevo: I got two of them as samples. 20 more should be showing up UPS today
    Aug 31, 2015 10:05 AM - jbigler1986: oh yeah duh. you need 4 for a carriage
Aug 31, 2015 10:06 AM - Mike Glass: My 12 should be here soon.
Aug 31, 2015 10:07 AM - PeterkSharma: Anyone know if i need any parts to order from amazon to do the bowden swap?
Aug 31, 2015 10:07 AM - PeterkSharma: Doing the bondtech bowden setup
Aug 31, 2015 10:08 AM - Mike Glass: ptfe tubing?
Aug 31, 2015 10:08 AM - jbigler1986: are you getting it with the geared stepper?
    Aug 31, 2015 10:09 AM - daniel871: I would if I were doing it.
    Aug 31, 2015 10:09 AM - PeterkSharma: I have the tubing
Aug 31, 2015 10:09 AM - PeterkSharma: Let me check
Aug 31, 2015 10:10 AM - PeterkSharma: i did not get any steppers
    Aug 31, 2015 10:10 AM - PeterkSharma: what should i get?
Aug 31, 2015 10:11 AM - daniel871: What diameter is the ID of the gear?
Aug 31, 2015 10:11 AM - PeterkSharma: gear on the bondtech?
Aug 31, 2015 10:11 AM - daniel871: Yeah, well, I'm not sure how much that matters as I'm not familiar with how the bondtech moutns.
    Aug 31, 2015 10:11 AM - daniel871: mounts
Aug 31, 2015 10:11 AM - donhuevo: the bondtech needs an 8mm shaft
    Aug 31, 2015 10:12 AM - PeterkSharma: will a nema 17 work for that?
    Aug 31, 2015 10:12 AM - donhuevo: so a run-of-the-mill NEMA17 5.18:1 geared stepper will do
    Aug 31, 2015 10:12 AM - daniel871: This is the one I would have bought. http://shop.bondtech.se/ec/extruders/bondtech-extruder-v2-175-universal.html
    Aug 31, 2015 10:12 AM - daniel871: Comes with everything.
Aug 31, 2015 10:12 AM - PeterkSharma: oh look at that.... i did get that one
    Aug 31, 2015 10:13 AM - PeterkSharma: hahahahahah
Aug 31, 2015 10:13 AM - daniel871: So you should have a stepper in the box it came in somewhere.
Aug 31, 2015 10:13 AM - daniel871: Basically just put all of that together if it isn't already together, plug it in, calibrate your esteps and you're ready to rock.
Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - PeterkSharma: kk, havent done anything with bowden yet and always hear people talking about bearings or something that i couldnt figure out where it gets added to the set up
    Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - PeterkSharma: sweet!
Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - jbigler1986: well his carriage needs to be setup as well
Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah i know what i need to do for tht
Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - PeterkSharma: cause i have to reprint it for the cyclops
    Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - jbigler1986: the bearings are for extruders/cold end
Aug 31, 2015 10:14 AM - PeterkSharma: MK gave me the parts
Aug 31, 2015 10:15 AM - daniel871: Most of the people talking about bearings are talking about putting together their own extruder. A bondtech should have everything you need with it.
Aug 31, 2015 10:15 AM - jbigler1986: not sure what all parts the bondtech uses
Aug 31, 2015 10:15 AM - donhuevo: you can get the bowden version of the v6 and then you won't need any push-to-connect fittings
    Aug 31, 2015 10:15 AM - jbigler1986: ^
Aug 31, 2015 10:15 AM - PeterkSharma: yeah I didnt do that when I ordered it so i made sure t get the push to connect fittings
Aug 31, 2015 10:16 AM - jbigler1986: i have no push to connect fittings. on my extruders or anything
Aug 31, 2015 10:16 AM - PeterkSharma: i was under the impression that i had to have it :/
Aug 31, 2015 10:16 AM - PeterkSharma: oh well, prob cheaper to keep then mail back to sweden
Aug 31, 2015 10:18 AM - jbigler1986: i just duct taped my ptfe tube to my extruder and hotend
Aug 31, 2015 10:19 AM - PeterkSharma: been looking at SLA and DLP printers for the second printer. Anyone know much about the projector vs the laser
Aug 31, 2015 10:21 AM - PeterkSharma: I'm not sure if i should use a uv laser or not mess around and just 1 axis with the DLP projector
Aug 31, 2015 10:23 AM - daniel871: Don't cheap out on the DLP projector if you go that route.
Aug 31, 2015 10:25 AM - Mike Glass: sls printer, sla is so last year.
    Aug 31, 2015 10:26 AM - PeterkSharma: SLS?
Aug 31, 2015 10:31 AM - Mike Glass: uses powder instead of gooey nasty liquid.
Aug 31, 2015 10:31 AM - Bill Monroe: powder is much worse
Aug 31, 2015 10:32 AM - PeterkSharma: Yeah i was looking at the prints, and the prints dont look very nice
Aug 31, 2015 10:32 AM - Bill Monroe: we got a 55K machine, used it for 6 weeks... then it went to storage.. it's still there
Aug 31, 2015 10:33 AM - Bill Monroe: SLA - very pretty.. smooth.. but incredibly weak
Aug 31, 2015 10:33 AM - donhuevo: I still want to know what was used to make the bondtech body parts
Aug 31, 2015 10:34 AM - Bill Monroe: DLP - the smaller the print the better is looks.. dont see many large prints from a dlp machine
Aug 31, 2015 10:34 AM - donhuevo: very pretty and seem extremely strong
    Aug 31, 2015 10:34 AM - Bill Monroe: ABS
Aug 31, 2015 10:34 AM - Bill Monroe: if you want strong AND pretty - Polycarbonate
Aug 31, 2015 10:35 AM - Bill Monroe: but you aint never gunna get a Robo to do it :)
Aug 31, 2015 10:35 AM - PeterkSharma: Quantity not quality, right bill? :p
Aug 31, 2015 10:36 AM - PeterkSharma: @don i though it was an SLA print or something
Aug 31, 2015 10:37 AM - PeterkSharma: Tom explains the print of the body in the video
    Aug 31, 2015 10:37 AM - Bill Monroe: I go for quality.
Aug 31, 2015 10:37 AM - Bill Monroe: If I want quantity, I send it out
Aug 31, 2015 10:37 AM - PeterkSharma: i was being sarcastic about robo not doing polycarb

    Aug 31, 2015 10:37 AM - Bill Monroe: I building a machine for PC ..
Aug 31, 2015 10:38 AM - Bill Monroe: PC machines will do superior ABS and a decent job on PLA too
Aug 31, 2015 10:39 AM - PeterkSharma: I have been wanting to print with some but I hear it shrinks like no other
    Aug 31, 2015 10:39 AM - PeterkSharma: [IMG]
Aug 31, 2015 10:39 AM - PeterkSharma: lock up your guns folks
Aug 31, 2015 10:39 AM - Bill Monroe: to do ABS proper, you need a temp controlled evironment.
Aug 31, 2015 10:40 AM - Bill Monroe: the silly blankets and "safety guards" are a compromise.. a weak one..
Aug 31, 2015 10:40 AM - Bill Monroe: The robo would suffer from the heat of a proper environment
Aug 31, 2015 10:43 AM - donhuevo: Tom said SLS for the bondtech body parts
    Aug 31, 2015 10:43 AM - Mike Glass: Duh
Aug 31, 2015 10:43 AM - Mike Glass: nothing wrong with sls
Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - PeterkSharma: I've seen those delta prints that use the glass enclosures to help with warping
Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - Mike Glass: alot of people use it for mass producing
    Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - PeterkSharma: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-H6510BD-...8&qid=1441042900&sr=8-1&keywords=Acer+H6510BD
Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - PeterkSharma: I'm going to get this projector
Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - Mike Glass: dont waste your money
Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - Bill Monroe: from the site: Hardened CNC-machined precision components assures long lifetime and high precision.
Aug 31, 2015 10:44 AM - daniel871: SLS Nylon for the Bondtech housing according to the listing for it.
Aug 31, 2015 10:45 AM - Bill Monroe: The housing parts are made in nylon for stiffness and heat resistance.
Aug 31, 2015 10:45 AM - PeterkSharma: MG, more wanting to see if i can make one
Aug 31, 2015 10:47 AM - daniel871: I figure if I really want an SLA printer I'll save up for a Form1+ rather than trust my shaky fingers to align everything properly.
Aug 31, 2015 10:48 AM - Mike Glass: I would wait on buying technology right now, wait till Feb, your gonna see some effin cool stuff soon.
Aug 31, 2015 10:49 AM - daniel871: Take that long to save up for one anyway.
Aug 31, 2015 10:51 AM - Mike Glass: I want an aluminum glass printer.
Aug 31, 2015 10:53 AM - daniel871: I'm trying to decide whether I should get that SeemeCNC Rostock Max delta kit and fiddle with putting it together or just say "screw kits" and save up for an Ultimaker 2 Extended purchase sometime April next year after I find out whether those tech shifts you talk about actually materialize or not.
Aug 31, 2015 10:54 AM - Mike Glass: for that size why not get the Beast
    Aug 31, 2015 10:54 AM - daniel871: Is that a Robo thing?
Aug 31, 2015 10:55 AM - Mike Glass: hahaha, no
    Aug 31, 2015 10:55 AM - daniel871: Good. Googling for it now.
    Aug 31, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Glass: http://www.cultivate3d.com/the-beast-large-format-3d-printer.html
Aug 31, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Glass: the just opened the kickstarter snap
    Aug 31, 2015 10:57 AM - daniel871: Yeah, was reading that.
Aug 31, 2015 10:58 AM - Bill Monroe: i dont see any mention of what their using for electronics/firmware
Aug 31, 2015 10:59 AM - daniel871: I also don't see how you get that full print area when the X/Y will be limited due to the travel of the other 3 print heads.
Aug 31, 2015 11:01 AM - daniel871: The comments on their kickstarter also indicate they haven't even decided how to handle bed heating/hardened/unhardened materials.
Aug 31, 2015 11:01 AM - bamhm182: Have you guys ever noticed ribbing getting better or worse with certain colors or spools?
    Aug 31, 2015 11:02 AM - daniel871: I have not.
Aug 31, 2015 11:02 AM - daniel871: It has been gradually getting worse for me.
Aug 31, 2015 11:02 AM - Mike Glass: yes white is the worse
    Aug 31, 2015 11:03 AM - donhuevo: optical illusion
    Aug 31, 2015 11:03 AM - bamhm182: Alright, cool. That's what I was thinking
Aug 31, 2015 11:03 AM - daniel871: Going to check belt tensioning and that everything is still tight this evening if it isn't raining at the shop, but after that if it isn't any better the Robo is getting mothballed while I save up for another printer.
Aug 31, 2015 11:04 AM - bamhm182: I hadn't printed anything with straight vertical edges in white before, but with these Robbie pieces, I've been noticing some really bad ribbing
Aug 31, 2015 11:05 AM - Bill Monroe: ive found that reducing the extrusion percentage seem to help with white
Aug 31, 2015 11:05 AM - daniel871: If the ribbing was consistent I'd look at that again, but it's pretty much random.
Aug 31, 2015 11:05 AM - bamhm182: I swapped the leadscrew upgrade I did last month back to the old coupler leadscrews I had, and it seems like it got even worse, but then I printed in red and it didn't look any worse than the other prints I've recently done
    Aug 31, 2015 11:05 AM - daniel871: As far as placement goes.
Aug 31, 2015 11:05 AM - Bill Monroe: the best white parts I've made were in XT :)
    Aug 31, 2015 11:06 AM - jbigler1986: back
Aug 31, 2015 11:06 AM - bamhm182: I'm still going with my request to get my leadscrews swapped, but I think part of my issue here was white
    Aug 31, 2015 11:06 AM - bamhm182: filament
Aug 31, 2015 11:06 AM - daniel871: That pepto-bismol colored ABS spool was utterly wasted over the weekend fiddling with extrusion values and speeds.
Aug 31, 2015 11:07 AM - daniel871: The ribs would get smaller if I decreased the extrusion values, but then delamination would start happening if it was turned too low.
Aug 31, 2015 11:08 AM - daniel871: And the final "Fuck it, this is my smartass 'this is why I need the R1'" piece failed at 80% because the spool ran out, lol.
Aug 31, 2015 11:09 AM - jbigler1986: white filament you can see all imperfections
Aug 31, 2015 11:09 AM - bamhm182: I've noticed that it's also really hard to finish without getting "dirty"
    Aug 31, 2015 11:10 AM - daniel871: What, like dust?
    Aug 31, 2015 11:10 AM - bamhm182: Yeah
Aug 31, 2015 11:10 AM - bamhm182: Might just be that I'm using crappy sandpaper, but it always seems to look dirty afterwards
    Aug 31, 2015 11:12 AM - daniel871: Wipe it off with acetone.
    Aug 31, 2015 11:12 AM - daniel871: Very carefully.
    Aug 31, 2015 11:13 AM - bamhm182: Good idea
Aug 31, 2015 11:17 AM - Mike Glass: unless you have a UM
Aug 31, 2015 11:17 AM - bamhm182: Actually, now that I'm looking at this piece closer, the filament is holding onto bits of whatever I try to clean it with, whether it is sand paper, or a brillo pad or whatever else
Aug 31, 2015 11:18 AM - bamhm182: I managed to pick out a handful of the larger grains with a dental pick
Aug 31, 2015 11:25 AM - daniel871: I'm a little aggravated by it because I've put a pretty big chunk of money into the Robo and it's never really given me what I'd consider a "good" print. Got the neat little T-rex model and various lithophanes while screwing around, but nothing reliable since June.
Aug 31, 2015 11:26 AM - daniel871: Between savings and money never spent, I could have gotten the UM2 by now.
Aug 31, 2015 11:29 AM - bamhm182: Did I tell you about my $3000 mistake I made last week, daniel?
Aug 31, 2015 11:30 AM - bamhm182: Despite my best efforts, my Robo is still chugging along. I'm not that picky when it comes to print quality
    Aug 31, 2015 11:31 AM - daniel871: No you didn't.
Aug 31, 2015 11:31 AM - daniel871: Unless it was the multiple burned up boards thing.
Aug 31, 2015 11:31 AM - bamhm182: I'm in the Air Force, so we have tuition assistance. I started going to ASU on the 20th, but it turns out that the paperwork I had done for the Air Force to start school was to get approved to be approved for tuition assistance and not actually the paperwork to receive the tuition assistance itself.
Aug 31, 2015 11:31 AM - PeterkSharma: MG, what say you about an Aluminum glass printer.... o_O
    Aug 31, 2015 11:31 AM - daniel871: Oh yeah, I saw that.
Aug 31, 2015 11:32 AM - daniel871: The difference there is that the Robo isn't about to get mothballed due to poorly filed paperwork.
Aug 31, 2015 11:32 AM - bamhm182: Since it started on the 20th and it is now way past the "7 days prior" deadline, I'm going to have to pay it out of pocket. Went from me owing around $200 to around $2700
Aug 31, 2015 11:32 AM - Mike Glass: I would like one, they dont make one. "YET"
    Aug 31, 2015 11:32 AM - bamhm182: Could have easily got a nice UM for that. :/
    Aug 31, 2015 11:32 AM - daniel871: http://www.shapeways.com/blog/archives/401-you-can-now-3d-print-in-glass-with-shapeways.html
Aug 31, 2015 11:33 AM - PeterkSharma: are they announced at all?
    Aug 31, 2015 11:33 AM - daniel871: 3d glass printing. boom
Aug 31, 2015 11:33 AM - Mike Glass: ALON is the correct term
Aug 31, 2015 11:33 AM - PeterkSharma: what price do you think they will hit the market at? >5k?
Aug 31, 2015 11:34 AM - Mike Glass: you have to bake it at 2000degrees for a few days then polish it. doubt it can be 3d printed.
Aug 31, 2015 11:34 AM - Mike Glass: thing will stop a bullet better then 3" bullet glass
Aug 31, 2015 11:34 AM - daniel871: The dummies at MIT are doing it. http://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/08/3d-printed-glass/
Aug 31, 2015 11:35 AM - Mike Glass: that is crazy, but cool.
Aug 31, 2015 11:35 AM - Mike Glass: Hey you can 3d print with cow shit also.
    Aug 31, 2015 11:35 AM - daniel871: [IMG]
Aug 31, 2015 11:36 AM - Mike Glass: we went through this a few weeks ago, no way to stop the flow.
    Aug 31, 2015 11:36 AM - bamhm182: Anyways, got to get to work, I'll see y'all around
Aug 31, 2015 11:36 AM - daniel871: Kind of like that ceramic printing delta.
Aug 31, 2015 11:37 AM - Mike Glass: they just shove a big ball of heated glass in the chamber and gravity takes over.
Aug 31, 2015 11:37 AM - daniel871: Well, if you're playing with molten glass you'd better get the amount you want right then.
Aug 31, 2015 11:37 AM - Blake Benefield: easy enough to calculate
Aug 31, 2015 11:38 AM - daniel871: Yeah, glass blowers have been doing it for, well, millenia.
    Aug 31, 2015 11:38 AM - Mike Glass: yep I have a glass calculator.
Aug 31, 2015 11:38 AM - Blake Benefield: You never want too much Glass around... ask Mike's wife!
    Aug 31, 2015 11:38 AM - Blake Benefield: :D

    Aug 31, 2015 11:50 AM - daniel871: Hahaha. [IMG]
Aug 31, 2015 11:51 AM - Blake Benefield: You have to post these things when dealing with tabletop people sometimes
Aug 31, 2015 11:59 AM - daniel871: I'm curious how bad things got that they had to actually post the sign, given how bad stores that do that smell to start with.
    Aug 31, 2015 12:04 PM - Blake Benefield: like cheeto's and shame
Aug 31, 2015 12:05 PM - donhuevo: chili dogs left out in the sun a few days
Aug 31, 2015 12:07 PM - Blake Benefield: anyone know of a LoTR type gauntlet/glove on thingiverse?
Aug 31, 2015 12:07 PM - Mike Kelly: howdy everyone
    Aug 31, 2015 12:07 PM - donhuevo: howdy
    Aug 31, 2015 12:07 PM - daniel871: http://www.thingiverse.com/search?q=Gauntlet
    Aug 31, 2015 12:08 PM - daniel871: Hey MK.
    Aug 31, 2015 12:19 PM - jbigler1986: hola MK
    Aug 31, 2015 12:21 PM - BryZad: O LA all
    Aug 31, 2015 12:26 PM - Mike Kelly: i slept for like 14 hours
Aug 31, 2015 12:26 PM - Mike Kelly: it was glorious
    Aug 31, 2015 12:28 PM - daniel871: Ugh, I hate you MK.
Aug 31, 2015 12:28 PM - daniel871: I think I got 14 hours of sleep total the last four days.
    Aug 31, 2015 12:28 PM - daniel871: Probably why I'm so cranky.
Aug 31, 2015 12:29 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah i was exhausted from the music festival
    Aug 31, 2015 12:29 PM - Mike Kelly: so i slept
Aug 31, 2015 12:29 PM - Mike Kelly: for days
Aug 31, 2015 12:34 PM - Mike Glass: 14 hours, so you slept for 3 of my days..lol
    Aug 31, 2015 12:39 PM - daniel871: Huh. Someone illustrated Asimov's The Last Question. http://imgur.com/gallery/9KWrH
    Aug 31, 2015 12:42 PM - Mike Kelly: long
    Aug 31, 2015 12:43 PM - Mike Glass: I think I just fell asleep.
    Aug 31, 2015 12:43 PM - Mike Kelly: lol
Aug 31, 2015 12:46 PM - daniel871: It's actually pretty neat if you make it to the very end.
Aug 31, 2015 12:46 PM - daniel871: Though, like most things, the original book was better.
Aug 31, 2015 12:49 PM - Mike Kelly: i saved it for when i have more attention span
    Aug 31, 2015 12:49 PM - jbigler1986: I would die if i got that much sleep
Aug 31, 2015 12:50 PM - daniel871: Let's just say the ending pissed a lot of people off back when it was first published.
Aug 31, 2015 12:50 PM - daniel871: I would probably get a lot of stuff done when I woke up if I got that much sleep.
Aug 31, 2015 12:52 PM - Mike Glass: too much sleep is bad for you.
Aug 31, 2015 12:53 PM - Mike Kelly: yeah it is
Aug 31, 2015 12:53 PM - Mike Kelly: so is too little though
    Aug 31, 2015 12:53 PM - Mike Kelly: 7.5 is the target i'd say
Aug 31, 2015 12:53 PM - jbigler1986: if i slept that much i would wake up and just want to go back to sleep
    Aug 31, 2015 12:53 PM - Mike Kelly: ^
Aug 31, 2015 12:53 PM - Mike Glass: the say now at least 2.5 hours of sleep is perfect
Aug 31, 2015 12:54 PM - Mike Kelly: haha no
    Aug 31, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: 4-7 is perfect for m
    Aug 31, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: me*
Aug 31, 2015 12:54 PM - Mike Kelly: unless you want alzheimers and dementia
    Aug 31, 2015 12:54 PM - jbigler1986: isn't that the goal?
Aug 31, 2015 12:55 PM - jbigler1986: i got the old girl back last night MK
Aug 31, 2015 12:55 PM - Mike Glass: its all in your genetics, no link in my family for those.
    Aug 31, 2015 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: wooo
Aug 31, 2015 12:55 PM - Mike Kelly: how is she
Aug 31, 2015 12:56 PM - jbigler1986: she looks rough. Just because the case isn't on it. It wasn't bolted on. Nothing looks broke on it though. Will find out tonight
Aug 31, 2015 12:57 PM - jbigler1986: got all of my parts and pieces as well as all of my fiament
    Aug 31, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: awesome
Aug 31, 2015 12:58 PM - Mike Kelly: glad the glass survived
    Aug 31, 2015 12:58 PM - daniel871: *so far
Aug 31, 2015 12:59 PM - Mike Glass: yea we are pretty tough
Aug 31, 2015 12:59 PM - jbigler1986: well i can't really see it very well in the box it's in. I got my spare bed back too though
Aug 31, 2015 1:00 PM - daniel871: What are the odds on the controller/driver being bad if my firmware steps for all axes match what they should and the belts/gears/etc. are all firmly fastened
Aug 31, 2015 1:00 PM - jbigler1986: i even got some of kids' toys in the boxes. so obviously they were in a hurry packing my crap up
Aug 31, 2015 1:00 PM - Mike Glass: for god sakes did you get clean underwear at least.
Aug 31, 2015 1:00 PM - daniel871: The ex wore all of them, then folded them back up and put them in boxes.
Aug 31, 2015 1:01 PM - Mike Kelly: what daniel
Aug 31, 2015 1:01 PM - Mike Glass: He may need a shot now.
Aug 31, 2015 1:01 PM - Mike Kelly: from the sounds of it he's probably needed one for a few years
    Aug 31, 2015 1:02 PM - jbigler1986: i washed everything
    Aug 31, 2015 1:02 PM - daniel871: With bleach?
    Aug 31, 2015 1:02 PM - jbigler1986: I have been tested. I'm clean
Aug 31, 2015 1:02 PM - jbigler1986: trust me. already thought about that
Aug 31, 2015 1:03 PM - jbigler1986: she can get herself aids. not my problem anymore
Aug 31, 2015 1:04 PM - daniel871: My earlier question is where I'm wondering if the controller for the Robo is failing.
    Aug 31, 2015 1:04 PM - jbigler1986: the arduino?
Aug 31, 2015 1:04 PM - Mike Kelly: i doubt it, try reflashing the firmware
Aug 31, 2015 1:04 PM - daniel871: The board itself or the stepper drivers.
Aug 31, 2015 1:05 PM - jbigler1986: those boards can take a lot of abuse
Aug 31, 2015 1:05 PM - daniel871: Reflashed Sunday, which solved the heater problem but didn't help the ribbing at all. Everything is tightened/secured and the belts thrum like guitar strings if you flick them.
Aug 31, 2015 1:05 PM - Mike Glass: make sure its keeping cool though
Aug 31, 2015 1:05 PM - Mike Kelly: i'm pretty sure i had a stepper driver go bad on me
Aug 31, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Kelly: it supplied like no current
    Aug 31, 2015 1:06 PM - jbigler1986: good thing i have 3 extras of those
Aug 31, 2015 1:06 PM - daniel871: The robo moves, and it seems to move quietly/smoothly, but from one layer to the next things don't quite line up like they should when printing the Robby cubes.
    Aug 31, 2015 1:06 PM - Mike Kelly: https://plus.google.com/u/1/+MikeMiller0/posts/WysBHNMbwtc?cfem=1 i'm confused by this
Aug 31, 2015 1:06 PM - Aaron Mitchell: Hey guys...
    Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Kelly: probably a loose component
Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - jbigler1986: my extruder stepper sounded like shit before i replaced it
Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - Mike Kelly: hey aaron
Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - daniel871: My extruder steppers are the loudest steppers on the machine.
Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - Aaron Mitchell: Anyone know when the Robo3D R1+ is being released?
    Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - daniel871: Never.
Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - Aaron Mitchell: Planning to buy 3 or 4 for my classroom...
    Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - daniel871: Or already, whichever.
    Aug 31, 2015 1:07 PM - Aaron Mitchell: heh...funny
    Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: uh
    Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: they're at the warehouse
    Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - daniel871: http://www.robo3d.com/products/r1-plus-3d-printer
    Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: i'd just pre-order
Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - jbigler1986: buy a refurb robo and install new lead screws. There is your R1+
Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Glass: Mike that is what I was taking about the tubing yesterday, thats a size they found that works.
Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - daniel871: Says ships late August, but today is the last day so.
    Aug 31, 2015 1:08 PM - Mike Kelly: tubing?
    Aug 31, 2015 1:09 PM - jbigler1986: for what
Aug 31, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Kelly: i think the R1+ will start shipping this week
Aug 31, 2015 1:09 PM - Mike Glass: the link you just put up
