    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:16 PM - NFOsec: oh man, I'm jealous.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:17 PM - Mike Glass: got 4 done so far..lol
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:17 PM - NFOsec: I bet they're sharp as hell.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:17 PM - Mike Glass: Yea people at work are going to be happy.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:17 PM - NFOsec: you can also grab corks and a corker, and custom engrave the corks. Sometimes small batch microbrewers or hobby brewers like that "custom" thang.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:18 PM - NFOsec: get some anodized aluminum dog tags or other with any specific colors on them, engrave those. very sweet looking.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:18 PM - Mike Glass: I have tons of corks, see we are horders of all.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:18 PM - NFOsec: engraving logos or other specifics on the cork is cool, either on the sides or the top.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:19 PM - NFOsec: really cool "wood burning" effect.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:19 PM - Mike Glass: I thought plexi was going to the funnest thing, its cool and all but bottles are the shiznit
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:19 PM - NFOsec: yeah, isn't it?
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:20 PM - Mike Glass: gotta do a chargers one for a guy at work that gave me a coffee table for free for my wife business
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:20 PM - NFOsec: For example, you could go out and buy some "decent" cheap wines (like the $4 grocery store versions) and engrave as gifts.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:21 PM - NFOsec: he'll probably love it.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:21 PM - Mike Glass: can you do that with a full bottle?
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:21 PM - NFOsec: I have a heat press for t-shirts, so once in a while I laser engrave some special transfer paper for press.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:21 PM - NFOsec: hell yeah.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:22 PM - NFOsec: once you got the power controlled, you KNOW you're not breaching the bottle in any way, THAT's where the value comes in.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:22 PM - Mike Glass: oh why did you ask me the other night if the bottle was full.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:22 PM - NFOsec: people who don't have power understanding typically blast thru and affect the integrity of the pressured bottles (champagne, etc.)
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:22 PM - NFOsec: but wine isn't anything.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:22 PM - NFOsec: that's why I asked you then.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:23 PM - NFOsec: you were new to bottles, didn't want you being called Glass Eye Mike
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:23 PM - Mike Glass: gotcha
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:24 PM - NFOsec: in fact, the liquid in the bottles serves as an advantage because sometimes they suggest spraying the bottles for heat control, but too much is also negative (like a near frozen one).
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:24 PM - NFOsec: balanced reaction, room temp is advised.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:25 PM - NFOsec: jbig: all spent out on next pay check bro?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:28 PM - jbigler1986: Huh
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:28 PM - jbigler1986: do I need a separate PSU for the spindle?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:28 PM - NFOsec: I mean, $12 x 2 man.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:29 PM - NFOsec: spindle may be direct plug in like router wouldn't it be? I don't have a spindle, but myabe not since I know you can software control the speeds, etc.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:30 PM - NFOsec: MK may know.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:30 PM - NFOsec: why the heck would a forum system tell you there are robots in the mist?
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:31 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah you can control it with mach 3 and the uno CNC shield. Just not sure if it should have its own power supply
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:31 PM - NFOsec: what's connected to the end of it?
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:32 PM - Mike Kelly: depends what voltage it runs on
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:32 PM - jbigler1986: Let me see if it says on the spindle.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:33 PM - NFOsec: sure looks like it.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:39 PM - NFOsec: [IMG]
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:39 PM - NFOsec: Glod Eiffel tower top sections.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:39 PM - jbigler1986: Nice
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:40 PM - NFOsec: pretty good quality print so far.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:40 PM - NFOsec: ah, spoke on the mark, done.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:41 PM - jbigler1986: MK here is the model of the spindle if you can tell me what i need. Gdz-65-800 110v
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:43 PM - Mike Glass: looks like you need a wall socket..lol
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:44 PM - NFOsec: yeah, that 110v was a dead giveaway.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:44 PM - NFOsec: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/spindles-vfd/126504-cnc.html (someone talked about this product)
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:44 PM - NFOsec: water cooled spindle. ooooh.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:48 PM - jbigler1986: so looks like single psu should do it
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:52 PM - Mike Glass: they make control box to regulate the spindle power though.
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:52 PM - Mike Glass: thats what im looking at doing for my cnc sheild.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:53 PM - jbigler1986: yeah i am seeing that
Oct 4, 2015 at 7:53 PM - jbigler1986: lots of people are using one
    Oct 4, 2015 at 7:56 PM - jbigler1986: 24v PSU
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:00 PM - Mike Glass: ohh chargers bottle is cool
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:01 PM - Mike Glass: wonder if I could stain this?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:01 PM - jbigler1986: what is it
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:03 PM - jbigler1986: so if i wanted to I could run the spindle off it's own psu and use something like this http://www.amazon.com/TruePower-Ele...14431&sr=8-2&keywords=router+speed+controller
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:03 PM - NFOsec: yeah, remember what I told you about on painting/staining?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:03 PM - NFOsec: no different than painting etched glass, but Laserbits makes some good color bundles.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:04 PM - NFOsec: vvvvrrrooom jbig.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:04 PM - NFOsec: jbig: he made a Chargers logo on a glass bottle with his "laser"
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:05 PM - NFOsec: when he bothers to turn on the poloroid or instamatic 110 camera we might be able to see it.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:05 PM - jbigler1986: nice
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:06 PM - Mattchu: home. you get the CNC jbig?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:07 PM - Mattchu: is MG around?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:08 PM - jbigler1986: yep
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:08 PM - Mattchu: sweet! It up and running?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:08 PM - jbigler1986: nope. just trying to gather the electronics i need for it
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:08 PM - jbigler1986: got uno and cnc shieel
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - NFOsec: The color set (12) is like $49.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - Mattchu: get clamps for it lol...and maybe a sacrificial sheet to put under it...you don't want to damage that bed.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - NFOsec: Matt.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - Mattchu: yes NFO?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - NFOsec: Hell-Oh.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - Mattchu: howdy!
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:09 PM - jbigler1986: uno, cnc shield, 8825 drivers, 24v psu. trying to decide if I can just control spindle speed from mach3 or if I should get a speed controller for it
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:10 PM - Mattchu: I'd personally go through Mach 3 if you can actually adjust the spindle.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:10 PM - NFOsec: You could override, but I'd rather see it fully controllable from Mach3. eStop option?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:11 PM - Mattchu: if you can punch in a number, and it'll hit that number (or reaaaaalllly close to it), I'd pass on the potentiometer override.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:11 PM - jbigler1986: i would rather do it all with mach3 too if possible
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:11 PM - Mike Glass: hey matt
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:11 PM - Mattchu: for spindle speed.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - Mattchu: hey MG! how's the laser coming along?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - jbigler1986: I am a total noob to it which is why I am asking you guys
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - NFOsec: the "laser"
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - Mattchu: "The Laser"
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - Mattchu: actually
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - NFOsec: well, you have to ask Senior Noobs.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - Mattchu: The LASER
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - Mike Glass: its going doing some more bottles now I just stained a bottle it super sweet
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - Mattchu: (since it's an acronym)
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:12 PM - NFOsec: It's an Austin Powers, Dr. Evil thang.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:13 PM - Mattchu: awesome! How long did it take for one at that price from that sell to appear on ebay?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:13 PM - Mike Glass: did you do a best offer?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:14 PM - NFOsec: Assembly of top: [IMG]
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:14 PM - Mike Glass: nice
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:14 PM - Mattchu: not yet MG...didn't even think about that. is that what you did?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:14 PM - Mike Glass: did you laser cut that?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:15 PM - Mattchu: Eiffel your joy, NFO.

Oct 4, 2015 at 8:15 PM - NFOsec: Glod is probably insulting to the French.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:15 PM - Mike Glass: yea but only got another $20..lol
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:15 PM - NFOsec: no, it's officially a Robo R1++ print.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:15 PM - Mattchu: robo ++? What's the extra plus?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:15 PM - NFOsec: of course, everyone at the party was feeling merry. When Mary left, they all jumped for Joy.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - NFOsec: Robo 3D R1 +plus
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - NFOsec: per Mike Kelly it's R1 ++
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - NFOsec: :)
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - Mattchu: oh lmao
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - Mattchu: got ya
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - Mike Glass: +++ is in the works
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - Mattchu: should call it the R1 2+
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - NFOsec: That's the Mega.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - Mike Glass: never happen
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:16 PM - Mattchu: or R1 +2
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - Mattchu: I spoke with them at the fair
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - Mattchu: they said the mega at CES.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - NFOsec: I'd just as soon gut this system, drop in 12-14" higher rods, build out a new base and call it the RoboGoliath
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - Mike Glass: yea that had it last year at ces
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - NFOsec: yeah, Mega CES last year.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - NFOsec: If I were to go all out, I'd probably end up with SLA next.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:17 PM - Mattchu: no this year, for sale...I know they're trying to keep all supplies in the area.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:18 PM - Mike Glass: never happen
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:18 PM - Mattchu: or as much as they can locally.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:18 PM - Mike Glass: they cant even get R2 in production
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:18 PM - NFOsec: my sister is a certified gemologist, I'm classically trained in lost wax jewelry making and did quite a few things in my early life, wouldn't be bad to develop some new materials.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:18 PM - Mattchu: sorry that's what I meant...the R2 lol
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:18 PM - Mattchu: the Mega...they'll do on demand they told me
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:19 PM - NFOsec: I think there are some inherent problems from a business operational perspective they need to address.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:19 PM - NFOsec: so much seems to be focused on marketing and the quality is suffering.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:19 PM - Mattchu: I agree...I think moving the operation closer to home will help.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:20 PM - NFOsec: if it were for any other reason, I would have returned the Robo on day one when I saw the defects in the case, but I overlooked them because there are enough defective people in the world -- why discriminate.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:20 PM - Mike Glass: you dont know the half of that NFO
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:20 PM - NFOsec: for example, my top notch and the front curves are all appeared to be snapped off or hack-sawed -- they are not straight-lined as in injection molded.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:21 PM - NFOsec: MG: Oh, I almost had 2 shipped to me, one was returned literally when it was 5 minutes away from being delievered.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:21 PM - NFOsec: chaos.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:21 PM - NFOsec: I've read many of the other defects, but I recognized this as not entirely a first adopter thing thing.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:21 PM - Mattchu: lol yes.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:22 PM - NFOsec: however, despite some disappointments, I can't say I regret my purchase.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:23 PM - NFOsec: but, I can say that the die-hard head shakers here have been quite beneficial and helpful.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:23 PM - NFOsec: I just pity the next poor fool who buys a laser.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:24 PM - Mattchu: like me? lol
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:25 PM - NFOsec: yeah, you, MG, MK, Bill, Jbig, Don, etc.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:25 PM - NFOsec: everyone has a certain value they add to the melting pot of stupidity of others.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:25 PM - NFOsec: MG has been least helpful because he's so preoccupied with his "laser".
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:26 PM - NFOsec: spoiled little kid.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:26 PM - Mattchu: why? lol.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:26 PM - NFOsec: classic Leo.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:27 PM - jbigler1986: and i am occupied with weather or not i need a spindle controller. lol
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:27 PM - jbigler1986: err whether
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:28 PM - nonmindo: Evening gents!
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - NFOsec: I'm waiting for a call from the hospital, indicating that he's being treated for glass fragments. I'm of course going to ask how, they'll tell me he was "lasering a bottle". I'll of course have to say: "Please, for the love of God, tell me he didn't attempt to put something on the 1970 Chateau Trotano Pomerol".
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - NFOsec: what a waste it would have been.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - NFOsec: jbig: gut says make that a secondary purchase.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - Mattchu: evening non
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - NFOsec: use Mach3, if you find it is insufficient, grab one later.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - NFOsec: I hear the chinese have a large stock of them.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG]
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:29 PM - Mattchu: agreed
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - NFOsec: beautiful MG.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - Mattchu: oh MG, you're my new best friend
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - Mike Glass: unicorn spit stain works great
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - NFOsec: My protege has left the nest.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - Mattchu: I don't care what these other people say about you...you clearly have good taste
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - Mike Glass: its not for me..lol
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - NFOsec: he's probably thinking Dodge Charger, so don't flatter yourself.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:30 PM - NFOsec: :)
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - NFOsec: Chargers might have a chance if they can sell enough tickets.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - jbigler1986: so the arduino cnc shield and mach3 will control it? if so that's all i need to know
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - jbigler1986: looks awesome MG
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - NFOsec: that is in my humble opinion a "yes".
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - Mattchu: you can admit to it, MG...we've got the most stand up QB in the NFL.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - NFOsec: MG - you're wierd with CNC, you tell him. make him feel "good" about himself.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:31 PM - Mike Glass: thanks didnt even think it would work with color
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:32 PM - NFOsec: what did you use to color?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:32 PM - Mattchu: I'm not an electronics guy, so I'll say "maybe" jbigler?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:32 PM - Mattchu: MG...http://www.ebay.com/itm/50W-Laser-E...SA-Shipping-/252062980403?hash=item3ab01fd933
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:32 PM - Mike Glass: unicorn spit blue and yellow
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:32 PM - jbigler1986: i think MG is manually turning on his router
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:33 PM - jbigler1986: correct me if i am wrong
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:33 PM - Mike Glass: Yea I has a speed control that is manual till I swap out my mega for the uno and cnc shield.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:33 PM - nonmindo: hey guys, is there a trick to translucent filament?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:33 PM - NFOsec: Man, the "rotary" is NOT the lathe style they have in the picture.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:34 PM - NFOsec: I would have been pissed if it was.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:34 PM - Mattchu: what's your look like?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:34 PM - Mike Glass: they have switch styles I think I see more of those now
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:34 PM - jbigler1986: so MG you plan on controling the speed with the uno and cnc shield?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:34 PM - NFOsec: non: you think you see it, but it's not really there.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - NFOsec: such as what? proper heat, proper heat, and maybe speed?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - Mattchu: I like that chuck. That's not a lathe...that's a mill 4 axis style.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - nonmindo: yea
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - nonmindo: i keep getting clogged hot ends
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - Mike Glass: yea but there are some electronics that I have to build for the control I gess.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - nonmindo: I thought it was my hobbed bolt
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:35 PM - Mattchu: also looks like it's 4 jaw
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:36 PM - Mattchu: which is hot as shit.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:36 PM - NFOsec: Ok, sorry about my terminology, not that kind of person, but I see. a mill 4-axis style.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:36 PM - Mattchu: they all use chucks
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:36 PM - NFOsec: that's what I want, but look into the pictures below, you'll see it, first thing upper right corner of the package of items.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:36 PM - Mattchu: but tha'ts closer to a 4th axis (well, third in this case).

Oct 4, 2015 at 8:36 PM - nonmindo: I ran a calibration cube, then a super high geometry part that took 9 hours and they came out beautifully, loaded up a slicer breaking (was still using MC) part with a bunch of geometry and it would get about 3 hours in and then the head would clog
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:37 PM - Mattchu: yeah I see it...a roller bar
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:37 PM - Mike Glass: [IMG]
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:37 PM - Mike Glass: that is the style I have
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:37 PM - NFOsec: hey MG. what about this?

Oct 4, 2015 at 8:38 PM - nonmindo: i pulled out the head, removed the clog using some kanthal A1 wire i use for ecigs, then used some cleaner filament to clear the nozle of any obstructions, then BAM! clogged again
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:38 PM - Mike Glass: I see they have no more. people are buying these like crazy
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:38 PM - Mike Glass: ohh thats nice
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:38 PM - Mattchu: of yours, MG?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:38 PM - NFOsec: Unfortunately, I started a craze.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:39 PM - Mike Glass: yea at least from that seller, he had the best prices.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:39 PM - Mattchu: that will work, so long as your mounting points are parrallel and perpendicular.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:39 PM - Mattchu: yeah :(
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:39 PM - NFOsec: oh, I would put this on a rail system.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:39 PM - NFOsec: so you can adjust the point end in and out.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:40 PM - NFOsec: MG: think this would pass? $150-170 range for a few, but not all have both sides.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:40 PM - nonmindo: So i ordered a replacement hobbed bolt off ebay, the one in the forums here, hope its still a good option.....and im going to probably buy a E3Dv6 this week
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:40 PM - Mike Glass: the one you posted is only $100 more but nicer rotary
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:40 PM - Mattchu: in theory MG.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:41 PM - nonmindo: but i dont know if its the filament that is causing my issue, the hobbed bolt or the hot end
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:41 PM - Mattchu: also the thing is controlled with a belt and pully
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:41 PM - NFOsec: what's happening?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:41 PM - Mattchu: http://www.omiocnc.com/accessories/4thaxis/h60-4th-axis.html
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:41 PM - Mike Glass: $150 maybe, you could actually build one cheap, thingiverse has a chuck you could print
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:42 PM - NFOsec: that's not bad Matt since it's not really a spinner thing, slow Y steps for the most part.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:42 PM - Mattchu: dude, Jbig...you need this next!
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:42 PM - Mattchu: http://www.ebay.com/itm/CNC-Engravi...-B-Axis-4th-5th-Rotational-Axis-/261300446896
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:42 PM - nonmindo: NFO was that "whats happening" directed at me?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:42 PM - Mike Glass: that would be fun for the cnc as well
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:42 PM - Mattchu: 5 axis rotab action
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:43 PM - Mike Glass: oh snap..I like
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:43 PM - Mattchu: no jaws...so that means you'd have to make jaws for it
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:43 PM - NFOsec: yeah non.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:43 PM - Mattchu: it's totally designed for clamps
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - nonmindo: lol I mentioned it above, hold on
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - NFOsec: from a CNC perspective that makes sense, but we're thinking about "laser", which the bottles and objects would be horizontal as if they were on a lathe/mill"
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - nonmindo: I ran a calibration cube, then a super high geometry part that took 9 hours and they came out beautifully, loaded up a slicer breaking (was still using MC) part with a bunch of geometry and it would get about 3 hours in and then the head would clog
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - nonmindo: i pulled out the head, removed the clog using some kanthal A1 wire i use for ecigs, then used some cleaner filament to clear the nozle of any obstructions, then BAM! clogged again
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - NFOsec: oh, just found that sorry.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/Genssi-14-5A-...=24v+power+supply&refinements=p_85:2470955011 think tat has enough juice
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - Mattchu: I know NFO :)
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:44 PM - NFOsec: well, one thing to question here is are you running high enough temps?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - nonmindo: 200-220
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - nonmindo: err
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - nonmindo: 215-220
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - NFOsec: what was the filament brand/type?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - nonmindo: Shaxon Flourescent green, its not marked as translucent but it definately is
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - nonmindo: printing range listed on spool is 180-240
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:45 PM - jbigler1986: matt do you think that PSU is good enough?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - NFOsec: transculents like the t-glaze I knew were more of 235-250
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - nonmindo: it oozes at 220
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - Mike Glass: JB. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D7CWSCG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - NFOsec: you definitely can't do 215-220, I would move it up to 230-235 tops for starters.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - jbigler1986: i want 24v
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - NFOsec: I had that exact problem when I didn't realize I wasn't even on the low-end for the tolerances.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - Mike Glass: oh forgot
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:46 PM - nonmindo: ok
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - nonmindo: i know my hobbed bolt was skipping too
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - NFOsec: ooze or not, ooze brittle chunky or ooze almost heated are two different things.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - NFOsec: tell it to walk not run.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - NFOsec: LOL
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - nonmindo: like i noticed it before but it was super minimal and didnt effect anything but with this plastic it was skipping a good 5-10mm
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - Mattchu: 24V @ 30A would be brutal O_O
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:47 PM - NFOsec: remember, the ooze you talk of was in a static position, once you start extruding, cold filament is pushing in faster.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:48 PM - NFOsec: you'll need an Iron Man portal on your chest for that kind of power eh?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:48 PM - NFOsec: Hey, I know a guy who knowsa guy who made one.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:48 PM - nonmindo: so i pulled it out and cleaned the teeth, found out that they are still using shitty uneven cut hobbed bolts in the R1 so i ordered the ebay one
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:48 PM - NFOsec: was freaking awesome.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:48 PM - jbigler1986: most I am seeing are 15a
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:48 PM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/Switching-Tra...=24v+power+supply&refinements=p_85:2470955011
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - Mattchu: I honestly couldn't tell you what you'd need JB...most of what I work with uses 440V...I'm sure I'm crispy on the inside at this point :p
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - nonmindo: NFO even though at 220 it was oozing nice clean lines and fairly quickly?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - NFOsec: MG: that part look familiar? :)
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - nonmindo: like not pouring out of the hot end, but still pretty fast
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - NFOsec: well, I would still suggest going up a notch in temp OR slow down your speeds.,
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - nonmindo: ohh right
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:49 PM - nonmindo: speeds are
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:50 PM - nonmindo: 70mm infill and 65mm shells
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:50 PM - Mike Glass: what part is that?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:50 PM - NFOsec: the switching power supply Jbig showed.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:50 PM - NFOsec: it's in the front lower right corner of your access panel on the right side.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:51 PM - NFOsec: had to replace mine -- did something really stupid when I shouldn't have.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:51 PM - Mike Glass: oh..lol I really havent dove to much on the inside.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:51 PM - Mike Glass: other that still wondering what that little silver box on the floor is about.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:51 PM - nonmindo: NFO: would low temp be what would be causing the top layers of completed prints to be rough and also some of that fun spider webbing?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:52 PM - NFOsec: I knocked out a space on the top of the system to mount the temperature gauge we have. didn't clean underneath despite masking it well enough and some chips fell into that supply.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:52 PM - NFOsec: wouldn't draw more than 5v after that.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:52 PM - NFOsec: yeah, it's a switching power supply. it's what fuels the controller board and the display panel above, the side mounted upper right is the laser unit psu and controller.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:53 PM - NFOsec: despite the fact that the LCD guage looks GREAT, I had to blow $20 to get a new PS for the thing.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:53 PM - NFOsec: cost me 4 days of down time once. :(
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:53 PM - nonmindo: NFO: would low temp be what would be causing the top layers of completed prints to be rough and also some of that fun spider webbing?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:53 PM - Mike Glass: yea I should see mine at work tomorrow
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - Mike Glass: did I mention my office smells like a fireplace now..lol
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - nonmindo: Also, I love how on ROBO's landing page on the ticker that is advertising the R1 +Plus it lists "cool mascot" as a feature
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - jbigler1986: trying to find out what kind of PSU comes with the machine new. damn chinese
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - NFOsec: LOL. one thing that is always great, the smell of fresh lasered wood.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - NFOsec: what machine?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - nonmindo: Thats what she said
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:54 PM - Mattchu: I see it on ebay, jbig lol

Oct 4, 2015 at 8:55 PM - NFOsec: oh, I gave you a link to that didn't I? It showed the PSU on the back with the driver and the spindle in one picture.
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:55 PM - jbigler1986: cnc 6040
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:55 PM - Mattchu: oh, and the "nice" rotab is 250 it appears, MG. the one that's shown with it.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:56 PM - NFOsec: yeah. saw that.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:56 PM - Mike Glass: doesnt come with it?
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:57 PM - Mike Glass: the one I have is ok, as long as you use tape on the bottle, its probably worth at least $150
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:58 PM - NFOsec: jbig: what was the spindle again let me pull up my search results.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:58 PM - Mike Glass: kinda hacked together by the look of the cuts for the screw adjustments.
Oct 4, 2015 at 8:58 PM - nonmindo: would you guys recommend enabling Z-hop in cura?
    Oct 4, 2015 at 8:59 PM - jbigler1986: gdz 65 800 spindle
Oct 4, 2015 at 9:00 PM - Mike Glass: no z hop makes your prints look like shit

Oct 4, 2015 9:00 PM - Mike Glass: no z hop makes your prints look like shit
Oct 4, 2015 9:01 PM - Mike Glass: bubbly on the outside
    Oct 4, 2015 9:01 PM - NFOsec: bunny printing?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:01 PM - Mike Glass: b no NNN
Oct 4, 2015 9:01 PM - Mike Glass: oh hop i get it
Oct 4, 2015 9:02 PM - Mike Glass: little slow and tired
    Oct 4, 2015 9:03 PM - jbigler1986: it's a variable speed frequency spindle. looking like it needs a contoller
Oct 4, 2015 9:04 PM - nonmindo: ok cool ill leave that off... on top of the hobbed bolt chewing up this filament and the head clogging..... I'm now also getting sandpaper like top layers and hairs
Oct 4, 2015 9:05 PM - nonmindo: I'm wondering if its all just this filament, because I have been printing with no issues with others
Oct 4, 2015 9:05 PM - nonmindo: only 2 changes have been made.... the filament, and Cura
Oct 4, 2015 9:05 PM - nonmindo: but i switched to cura AFTER the first problems surfaced
Oct 4, 2015 9:06 PM - jbigler1986: "The most basic controls for operation of the spindle are also available to be controlled externally via a breakout board of some type. This means you can have your CNC controller software automatically start / stop / change speed of the spindle as commanded by you or the programmed job that is being executed." hmmm
Oct 4, 2015 9:06 PM - NFOsec: if it's bubbling, then it's too hot, reduce it down a little.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:06 PM - nonmindo: no bubbling
Oct 4, 2015 9:06 PM - nonmindo: just rough top layers and fine hairs on some movements
Oct 4, 2015 9:07 PM - nonmindo: hairs are easy enough to fix, hit it with a torch briefly
Oct 4, 2015 9:07 PM - jbigler1986: sounds like it can be controlled from mach3. if not I will tackle that then
Oct 4, 2015 9:07 PM - nonmindo: *torch lighter, not ACTUAL torch lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:08 PM - Mattchu: that wouldbe my course of action, jbig.
Oct 4, 2015 9:08 PM - Mike Glass: dont use a lighter it will make your parts brown.
Oct 4, 2015 9:08 PM - Mattchu: what wattage will I be able to carve through brass, mike?
Oct 4, 2015 9:09 PM - Mike Glass: torch works perfect
    Oct 4, 2015 9:09 PM - Mike Glass: 800w
Oct 4, 2015 9:09 PM - NFOsec: damn it, I can't find that link again.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:09 PM - Mattchu: ouch.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:09 PM - Mattchu: not 80W...800w?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:09 PM - NFOsec: Mattchu - you need a jag laser.
Oct 4, 2015 9:10 PM - Mike Glass: yea these dont cut metal, only etch
Oct 4, 2015 9:10 PM - NFOsec: you can engrave brass using Thermark/Cermark marking material.
Oct 4, 2015 9:10 PM - Mattchu: there stops on this thing at all?
Oct 4, 2015 9:10 PM - Mattchu: like if I wanted to line up a plaque?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:11 PM - Mike Glass: yep
Oct 4, 2015 9:11 PM - Mike Glass: think they are magnetic stops
Oct 4, 2015 9:12 PM - Mike Glass: or proximity end stops
Oct 4, 2015 9:12 PM - NFOsec: they hit the end you're screwed.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:12 PM - NFOsec: lol.
Oct 4, 2015 9:13 PM - Mattchu: or something to help check it's straight
Oct 4, 2015 9:13 PM - NFOsec: actually, one of the things to do is to drop in a ruler-based platform (like the honeycomb bed) and mount a rule on the left and top side. that can corner to your 0,0
Oct 4, 2015 9:13 PM - Mattchu: and cut the ruler
    Oct 4, 2015 9:13 PM - Mattchu: creating a straight edge
Oct 4, 2015 9:13 PM - Mattchu: that you KNOW is straight.
Oct 4, 2015 9:13 PM - NFOsec: well, if you're cutting something out, the design will ensure it is straight, the laser will cut it straight even if you have the material in an angle.
Oct 4, 2015 9:14 PM - nonmindo: lol ya MG I read about that, i got a little $7 jet torch lighter and it worked perfectly... I'm going to try upping the temp to like 230 and see if that makes anything better
    Oct 4, 2015 9:14 PM - nonmindo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Robo-3D-Hob...ter-Upgrade-Ships-fast-from-USA-/221562560673
Oct 4, 2015 9:14 PM - nonmindo: is this still the best replacement hobbed bolt?
Oct 4, 2015 9:14 PM - NFOsec: what I did is did a straight-line (square ruler )from the X rail/Z and marked the rail line,.
Oct 4, 2015 9:15 PM - NFOsec: laser can't move higher than the controller tells it to 0,0 is 0-500mm, so you could in theory find that top line pretty easy, same on the left.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:15 PM - Mattchu: yep
Oct 4, 2015 9:15 PM - Mike Glass: yea as long as you have your orgin set its easy to go back.
Oct 4, 2015 9:16 PM - Mattchu: but if you create that straight edge...it'll always be lined up perfectly.
Oct 4, 2015 9:16 PM - NFOsec: machine automatically homes to last set origin, you can override or reset it each time.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:16 PM - Mattchu: if it's precut brass
Oct 4, 2015 9:16 PM - Mike Glass: yea I love that feature
Oct 4, 2015 9:16 PM - NFOsec: yeah, exactly, because there are two schools of thought on lasering. generalize placement and absolute placement.
Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - NFOsec: in the absolute, the program you use would tell you precisely where you need to put the part on a ruled grid.
Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - Mike Glass: and the frame to tell you where it is going to cut really helps lining up a piece.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - NFOsec: I haven't done that yet, but that's next.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - NFOsec: yeah.
Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - nonmindo: Is this still the best replacement hobbed bolt for the printer?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - nonmindo: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Robo-3D-Hob...ter-Upgrade-Ships-fast-from-USA-/221562560673
    Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - Mattchu: incremental or absolute programming :p
Oct 4, 2015 9:17 PM - jbigler1986: the uno cnc shield say 4988 driver. 8825 should be fine to toss on though right?
Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - Mike Glass: how old is your robo non
Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - Mike Glass: yeah jb your fine
    Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - nonmindo: Its a refurb R1+
    Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - NFOsec: Matt:
    Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - NFOsec: LOL
Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - Mike Glass: it has the jumpers for 1/32nd stepping
Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - nonmindo: with an uneven cut janky ass looking hobbed bolt
Oct 4, 2015 9:18 PM - Mattchu: I do this for a living NFO lmao
Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - Mike Glass: yea time to replace it then.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - Mattchu: just don't deal with lasers much :p
Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - NFOsec: Matt: absolute is what I figured, but the other wasn't terminology I could square on.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - Mattchu: it's okay NFO :)
Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - NFOsec: yeah, I'm more dangerous in another area --
Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - NFOsec: <--- hobbiest with a heart so eff off. LOL.
Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - Mattchu: absolute = 10mm in the code means it moves to position 10mm
    Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - nonmindo: http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n197/cberkeley/HobbDebris_zps2836e623.jpg
Oct 4, 2015 9:19 PM - nonmindo: MG mine looks like this one
    Oct 4, 2015 9:20 PM - Mattchu: incremental = 10mm in the code means it'll move 10mm from it's current position.
Oct 4, 2015 9:20 PM - NFOsec: Matt: considering the fact that I've worked on Epilogs for a few years in Makerspace, I just couldn't justify the cost you know?
Oct 4, 2015 9:20 PM - Mattchu: dude, they are insanely priced
Oct 4, 2015 9:21 PM - Mattchu: same for Boss and the full spectrums
Oct 4, 2015 9:21 PM - Mattchu: in fact, I'm convinced the full spectrums are the chinese ones, they looked just like it.
Oct 4, 2015 9:21 PM - NFOsec: but, if you put a piece of material on the table, you can set the origin point to be whereever the laser head is origined. otherwise, you can have an absolute position on the bed and you would need to make sure your part matches that. that was all I was tyring to say.
Oct 4, 2015 9:21 PM - Mattchu: yes, you can reset the origin :)
Oct 4, 2015 9:21 PM - NFOsec: but yeah, 9k for the 40w, no water chilling, but $1200 for a replacement tube.
Oct 4, 2015 9:22 PM - Mike Glass: omg looks like it was using wire for filament feading it.
Oct 4, 2015 9:22 PM - Mattchu: fun fact NFO...if you're feeling crafty with your code
Oct 4, 2015 9:22 PM - nonmindo: lol apparently this was how a lot of the robo's came
Oct 4, 2015 9:22 PM - NFOsec: oh, I know that, I'm meaning that I usually put the laser head at a given origin where the part is vs. relying on absolute measured placement on the table.
Oct 4, 2015 9:22 PM - Mattchu: traditionally G55 tells the machine this is a "new coordinate" area...and saves it.
Oct 4, 2015 9:22 PM - Mattchu: got ya NFO
Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - nonmindo: which is what sparked the ebay guy to make a specific page for robo hobs lol, he was getting a lot of requests and questions about them
Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - Mattchu: well, a code matched with G55 does that
Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - Mattchu: so if you've got multiple jobs swapping back and forth
Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - NFOsec: fun, that would be handy.
Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - Mattchu: you just put in G54, G55, G56, etc at the beginning of the program
    Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - NFOsec: especially when I use jigs.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - NFOsec: yeah.

    Oct 4, 2015 9:23 PM - Mattchu: and it'll automatically know which jig/fixture origin offset you're using.
Oct 4, 2015 9:24 PM - NFOsec: yeah. precisely. good thought Matt. I'll have to do that for the dog tag and pen jigs.
Oct 4, 2015 9:24 PM - NFOsec: Boss lasers rock, but jesus, so does the cost.
Oct 4, 2015 9:24 PM - Mattchu: I'll give boss credit, they make their lasers something special
Oct 4, 2015 9:25 PM - NFOsec: yeah, no kidding.
Oct 4, 2015 9:25 PM - nonmindo: MG is it possible to install the E3Dv6 without drilling the carriage, just as a tmeporary thing till i can get the drive screw upgrade once they are back in stock?
Oct 4, 2015 9:25 PM - NFOsec: It's like buying a kid, paying for the college up front, then finding out you can be productive with them right out the gate.
Oct 4, 2015 9:25 PM - Mattchu: and yeah NFO, nothing more irritating to me than seeing a HAAS with a massive table...and a single vise set up
    Oct 4, 2015 9:26 PM - jbigler1986: alright. everything is ordered
    Oct 4, 2015 9:27 PM - Mattchu: yesssir NFO.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:27 PM - Mattchu: woot, JB!
    Oct 4, 2015 9:27 PM - jbigler1986: tuesday will be a fun day
Oct 4, 2015 9:27 PM - jbigler1986: gonna have to print a housing for the electronics
Oct 4, 2015 9:27 PM - Mike Glass: jb would know, but think you have too.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:28 PM - jbigler1986: what's up
Oct 4, 2015 9:28 PM - jbigler1986: oh. now you have to drill the carriage
Oct 4, 2015 9:28 PM - nonmindo: E3Dv6 R1, reqd to drill or can be installed temporarily
    Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - jbigler1986: No"
    Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - nonmindo: ahh ok
    Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - nonmindo: damn
    Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - jbigler1986: wait
Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - nonmindo: i was trying to avoid disassembling the printer till i had all the upgrades
    Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - NFOsec: lol.
Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah you have to drill it. The ptfe won't fit if you dont
Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - NFOsec: Robos are not designed to operate in any fully assembled state.
Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - nonmindo: and you HAVE to use the ptfe ya
    Oct 4, 2015 9:29 PM - nonmindo: hahaha NFO
Oct 4, 2015 9:30 PM - jbigler1986: also you need to counter bore it to so the little bowden clip on the top of the v6 doesn't get pinched and it sits flush
Oct 4, 2015 9:30 PM - nonmindo: I did think about designing up a stabilizer bar for the rods and removing the housing and running the printer like that, but im lazy
    Oct 4, 2015 9:31 PM - jbigler1986: my printer is topless
Oct 4, 2015 9:31 PM - nonmindo: yea JB, thanks i read the write up about it, but was curious mainly if it was a "must to function" thing or if it was a "you /can/ avoid it, but only temporarily" lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:32 PM - nonmindo: no worries, Robo out of upgrades anyway :(
    Oct 4, 2015 9:32 PM - jbigler1986: nope. gotta do it. it's simple
Oct 4, 2015 9:32 PM - jbigler1986: you can do it without removing the carriage
Oct 4, 2015 9:32 PM - nonmindo: drill it out?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:32 PM - jbigler1986: yeah
    Oct 4, 2015 9:33 PM - jbigler1986: that's how i did it
Oct 4, 2015 9:33 PM - nonmindo: what just take the top off the robo so you have more room, move carriage up and drill from below?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:33 PM - jbigler1986: yep
Oct 4, 2015 9:33 PM - nonmindo: well probably remove the extruder stuff too so you dont accidentally fuck shit up
Oct 4, 2015 9:33 PM - jbigler1986: just go slow so you don't drill through and hit the hobbed bolt
Oct 4, 2015 9:34 PM - nonmindo: it wouldnt hurt to drill through as long as you dont hit the hobbed yea?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:34 PM - jbigler1986: it's plastic. it doesn't take a lot of force
    Oct 4, 2015 9:34 PM - NFOsec: too bad you don't have a small hand-drill.
Oct 4, 2015 9:34 PM - jbigler1986: well you have to drill all the way through
Oct 4, 2015 9:34 PM - Mike Glass: haha ran a job guess turning on the laser helps..lol
    Oct 4, 2015 9:34 PM - jbigler1986: lol. woops
Oct 4, 2015 9:35 PM - nonmindo: NFO, My dad actually does have some old timey hand drills
Oct 4, 2015 9:35 PM - nonmindo: ok cool, drill all the way through, then get the slightly larger bit and counter sink for the ptfe coupler
Oct 4, 2015 9:36 PM - NFOsec: oh, when I ws building RC planes I had a set of really nice preicision hand drills, I used one when I got my Robo day one (robofilamentstockscrewup), thereaftre never again.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:36 PM - nonmindo: lol
    Oct 4, 2015 9:36 PM - NFOsec: not hand-cranking, these were push-type.
Oct 4, 2015 9:37 PM - Mike Glass: NFO so you know the pulse number changes with the bottle size.
Oct 4, 2015 9:37 PM - NFOsec: I guess we just absorb what stupidity we can muster.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:37 PM - jbigler1986: You are correct non
Oct 4, 2015 9:37 PM - NFOsec: using the preview you see auto-adjusting pulse changes?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - nonmindo: coo
    Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - jbigler1986: Damnt. Just realized its almost 1am
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - Mike Glass: yea to make sure your Y is the same as your project is all.
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - nonmindo: thanks guys, i was starting to get worried that I had gone to the wrong shoutbox for printer help
    Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - nonmindo: :p
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - NFOsec: in the Epilog you had to key in the frequency for cuts, not rastering.
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - Mike Glass: I dont think it has anything to do with that imo.
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - nonmindo: (just poking fun, I actually enjoy reading you all talk about this laser thing...well...because lasers....and nerdy things)
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - NFOsec: so you didn't set the origin to any specific spot?
Oct 4, 2015 9:38 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah the main users here all have dove into CNC or lasers
Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - NFOsec: Nerds. Nerds. Nerds.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - nonmindo: hahah
    Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - Mike Glass: MAKERS
    Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - nonmindo: yea sorry
    Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - nonmindo: Makers
Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - NFOsec: non: interestingly enough, the conceptf o CNC, Laser, and 3D Printing are all based on the same general principles and technoloogy.
Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - nonmindo: that IS the correct term
    Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - NFOsec: Nerd Makers.
Oct 4, 2015 9:39 PM - nonmindo: yea... and soda machines too NFO
Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - NFOsec: going to register that tomorrow. Nerdmakers.com
    Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - jbigler1986: Its probably taken
    Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - nonmindo: we have a machine that has a Z and X axis lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - NFOsec: If you're not a Nerd before you got here, we'll make you one before you leave.
Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - Mike Glass: no reason why you couldnt make either one into the other really.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - nonmindo: well
Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - nonmindo: there IS "othermill"
Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - nonmindo: and I did see a KS project for a printer that had interchangable tools
    Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - Mattchu: a Z and X axis? that's a lathe :p
    Oct 4, 2015 9:40 PM - nonmindo: Printer/CNC/Laser all in one
    Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - jbigler1986: Let's just say machinists
    Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - Mattchu: tool maker
Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - Mike Glass: hmm sounds like my MP CNC its a multitool
Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - NFOsec: there you go, boys with their toys.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - NFOsec: auto-changer approach MG?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - nonmindo: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/boxzy/boxzy-rapid-change-fablab-mill-laser-engraver-3d-p
Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - NFOsec: now that would be cool.
Oct 4, 2015 9:41 PM - Mike Glass: haha no its a sub $400 machine
Oct 4, 2015 9:42 PM - jbigler1986: I took a year of machine trades tool and die in high school. That was 13 years ago though
Oct 4, 2015 9:42 PM - NFOsec: yeah, seen a number of those types.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:42 PM - Mike Glass: too big..lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:42 PM - nonmindo: ohh my mistake, its not a cutter, only engraver....but still has CNC and 3d print
Oct 4, 2015 9:42 PM - NFOsec: I didn't waste my time with that crap, too the graphics/multimedia, IT, Information Security track.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - NFOsec: I didn't want to be treated like a tool.
Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - nonmindo: just use tools

Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - Mike Glass: why not have one of each, like me running at least 2 at a time..lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - NFOsec: LOL. I really wish I did go into engineering though.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - jbigler1986: Yeah I ended up taking information technology
    Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - NFOsec: that's cool.
Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - nonmindo: there is a startup trying to make a laser engraver/cutter for the everyman
Oct 4, 2015 9:43 PM - nonmindo: they are calling it a laser printer tho
Oct 4, 2015 9:44 PM - jbigler1986: I wish I went the engineer route as well. I lived like 30 minutes from Purdue which is a huge engineering school
Oct 4, 2015 9:44 PM - NFOsec: I'm a little bit of an underachiever, have 2 of each in BS/MS degrees
Oct 4, 2015 9:44 PM - Mattchu: my union card classifies me (rightly so) as a machinist...the hobbiest stuff is hard for me, cause I'm like "belts and pulleys? HOW DO YOU HOLD A TOLERANCE?"
    Oct 4, 2015 9:44 PM - NFOsec: haha.. most unions I know don't have a tolerance.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:45 PM - jbigler1986: Nice one
Oct 4, 2015 9:45 PM - Mike Glass: hah well thats way more than me I didnt go to college or trade, just worked since I was 16 and worked my way to the top.

Oct 4, 2015 9:46 PM - Mike Glass: 3 more years, then the big bucks
Oct 4, 2015 9:46 PM - nonmindo: you can draw on the surface you are trying to cut and there is a camera inside that will use software to trace the lines and cut them
Oct 4, 2015 9:46 PM - NFOsec: that's cool, the wife finally getting a job?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:46 PM - Mike Glass: well big for Montana..lol

Oct 4, 2015 9:48 PM - NFOsec: yeah, I didn't then, now I'm like ok, 10 years+ and still paying maintenance fees that are a waste IMHO.

Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - NFOsec: but he's not printing in flex or semi-flex.
Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - Mike Glass: better tell him JB
    Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - nonmindo: lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - NFOsec: I heard he was an ABS or Nylon fan.
Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - jbigler1986: Its not for him. It's for others to enjoy
Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - NFOsec: <---- wonders if a custom branded or named d-g will be accomplished with the "laser"
Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - nonmindo: ugh....ABS..... ordered some orange PLA....only to find out I ordered ABS
    Oct 4, 2015 9:49 PM - nonmindo: lol
Oct 4, 2015 9:50 PM - NFOsec: jb: of course.... isn't that always the case?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:50 PM - jbigler1986: Well if he wants to enjoy it I won't judge
Oct 4, 2015 9:50 PM - NFOsec: hell, you won't have a problem finding a d-g'd in orange ABS or PLA.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:50 PM - NFOsec: that's right, I wouldn't judge.
Oct 4, 2015 9:50 PM - NFOsec: awesome industry to reap rewards.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:50 PM - Mike Glass: I wouldnt use abs..lmao
Oct 4, 2015 9:51 PM - NFOsec: I just wonder why Robo used a Eunich Robbie for CES 2016
Oct 4, 2015 9:51 PM - NFOsec: maybe for support, can always coat/cast.
Oct 4, 2015 9:52 PM - Mike Glass: oh didnt see he told you..hahaha
    Oct 4, 2015 9:52 PM - NFOsec: I'm printing c-rings for the glass vase.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:52 PM - jbigler1986: Want there a Robbie the robot toy?
    Oct 4, 2015 9:52 PM - NFOsec: MG: yeah. :)

Oct 4, 2015 9:54 PM - NFOsec: the part I have a problem with is why are there 2 glory holes going the other way?

Oct 4, 2015 9:54 PM - nonmindo: and there are apparently a couple that have ED
    Oct 4, 2015 9:54 PM - jbigler1986: You already know the answer
Oct 4, 2015 9:54 PM - NFOsec: I bet if they didn't get into Makerfaire they would have been screwed.
Oct 4, 2015 9:55 PM - jbigler1986: That must have been "hard" to make
    Oct 4, 2015 9:55 PM - NFOsec: oh, strap-ons.
Oct 4, 2015 9:55 PM - NFOsec: well, it's about a hard sell and soft skills that get the customer.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:56 PM - jbigler1986: They were racist too
    Oct 4, 2015 9:56 PM - nonmindo: lol

    Oct 4, 2015 9:57 PM - jbigler1986: Omg. I gotta go to bed
Oct 4, 2015 9:57 PM - NFOsec: the thing that makes this life all the more fun is you don't have to ever be serious 100% of the time.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:57 PM - jbigler1986: Later
Oct 4, 2015 9:58 PM - NFOsec: jbig: hope you get a stiff night's sleep.
Oct 4, 2015 9:58 PM - nonmindo: Oh, Im serious about none of the time
    Oct 4, 2015 9:58 PM - NFOsec: cheers.
    Oct 4, 2015 9:58 PM - nonmindo: laters JB

Oct 4, 2015 9:59 PM - Mike Glass: clear glass doesnt make that loud noise that green glass does.
Oct 4, 2015 9:59 PM - NFOsec: OMG, without pulling the full name, my original inquiry on the d-g was hilarious.

Oct 4, 2015 10:02 PM - Mike Glass: yep been doing that all day actually.
Oct 4, 2015 10:02 PM - NFOsec: did you look at the inlay thing? that's another layer thing.
Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - nonmindo: Timed sufficiently enough to bring up wood from the post of the penis wall, well played
Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - NFOsec: that is of course if you hve any veneers.
Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - Mike Glass: there is a thing button for that.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - Mike Glass: ?
    Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - NFOsec: non: yeah, I'm Mr. Subliminal.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - nonmindo: lol
Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - NFOsec: he ddin't get it. too serious because he's poking in new territory.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:03 PM - nonmindo: hahahaha
Oct 4, 2015 10:04 PM - Mike Glass: im so tired, like 8 hours of sleep all weekend
Oct 4, 2015 10:04 PM - NFOsec: MG: rastering out some lettering or something, then taking the same lettering and doing a cut out in some wood veneer, gluing to make inlay.
Oct 4, 2015 10:04 PM - NFOsec: yeah, I'm sure. It's kind of hard to sleep with all the action going on.
Oct 4, 2015 10:05 PM - Mike Glass: yeah we talked abour that yesterday, you gave me links gonna order some this week.:)
Oct 4, 2015 10:05 PM - NFOsec: good. That I trust will be a new favorite for you.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:05 PM - NFOsec: speed/power to generate specific depth.
Oct 4, 2015 10:06 PM - NFOsec: preicison inlays without sanding.
Oct 4, 2015 10:06 PM - Mike Glass: that would be cool for my signs
Oct 4, 2015 10:07 PM - NFOsec: I used Invent to create the rings for the vase I wanted to engrave, and when dropped into S3D, they were crescents. The wierdest thing. I brought them into Netfabb, saved them out, then all is fine.
Oct 4, 2015 10:07 PM - Mike Glass: or making an inlay for an inlay in a table.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:07 PM - NFOsec: yeah.
Oct 4, 2015 10:07 PM - NFOsec: chess boards, logos.
Oct 4, 2015 10:07 PM - NFOsec: cribbage boards were my favorite though.
Oct 4, 2015 10:07 PM - NFOsec: so after 3.5 weeks, one 2.2kg of Glod is almost out.
Oct 4, 2015 10:08 PM - Mike Glass: man this is my longest cut yet doing a whol bottle.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:08 PM - Mike Glass: not a cut doh
Oct 4, 2015 10:08 PM - NFOsec: the chargers one was pretty long, are you doing full diameter?
Oct 4, 2015 10:08 PM - Mike Glass: I should really finish my puzzle chair
Oct 4, 2015 10:08 PM - NFOsec: things like lattice work (or celtic patterns one of my favorites) is fun.
Oct 4, 2015 10:09 PM - NFOsec: oh, I saw that online somewhere, looks like a great project.
Oct 4, 2015 10:09 PM - Mike Glass: yea its almost full within 1 1/2 inch
    Oct 4, 2015 10:09 PM - NFOsec: wow.
Oct 4, 2015 10:09 PM - NFOsec: so, how are the curvatures placed in it? all printed that way?
Oct 4, 2015 10:09 PM - Mike Glass: its a dragon that wraps around
Oct 4, 2015 10:09 PM - NFOsec: or is this flat back flat butt.
Oct 4, 2015 10:10 PM - NFOsec: the one I saw was formed.
Oct 4, 2015 10:10 PM - Mike Glass: no it curves, size is 19" wide
    Oct 4, 2015 10:10 PM - Mike Glass: I have 40 some piece done out of 84
    Oct 4, 2015 10:11 PM - NFOsec: I thought I'd do something like this:
Oct 4, 2015 10:11 PM - NFOsec: but then I realized only could do that with the CNC table.
Oct 4, 2015 10:11 PM - nonmindo: alrighty guys, thanks for the help tonight, im going to try running the shaxon at 230 tomorrow when i get home....i might hop back in here a little later, but usually its dead after 11
    Oct 4, 2015 10:12 PM - NFOsec: It's actually this. www.flexiblelove.com/
Oct 4, 2015 10:12 PM - NFOsec: ok, just don't drill too deep non, not worth the pain or damage you could cause.
Oct 4, 2015 10:12 PM - Mike Glass: night non
    Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - NFOsec: night.
Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: i thought he said to drill through lol
Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: then do the counter sink for the coupler
Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - NFOsec: yeah, but I'm Mr. Subliminal duh!
    Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: ahh
    Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: lol
    Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: uck
Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - NFOsec: you got it bud. don't sweat.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: F8ck
    Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - nonmindo: lol
Oct 4, 2015 10:13 PM - NFOsec: hah. took you a while too.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - nonmindo: yea
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - nonmindo: anyway
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - nonmindo: laters guys
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - NFOsec: senility is a virtue.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - NFOsec: later.
Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - NFOsec: you see that flexiblelove thing? unbelievable.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - Mike Glass: nice
    Oct 4, 2015 10:14 PM - Mike Glass: but a fire hazard..lol
Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - NFOsec: you have to see the videos.
Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - NFOsec: sure, it probably is.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - NFOsec: nothing a little cancer-causing retardant can't cure.
Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - Mattchu: okay kids, calling it a nite. se eyou in the morning!
Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - Mike Glass: ok see ya matt
Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - NFOsec: ok Matt. cheerios.
Oct 4, 2015 10:15 PM - Mike Glass: dont spend all my money
Oct 4, 2015 10:16 PM - NFOsec: fruit loops, whatever your bite. see you, have a great night.
Oct 4, 2015 10:16 PM - NFOsec: well, as soon as these rings are printed I'm going to run a test on the vase.
Oct 4, 2015 10:16 PM - NFOsec: usnig your 50/10 settings, pulse was dynamically set based on diameter right?
Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: I never went that path, probably makes sense why I didn't get the real quality I wanted.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - Mike Glass: 50/20
    Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: 50/20. right.
Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: did you change it for clear or not?
    Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: 50 speed 20 power or 50 power 20 speed?
    Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: LOL.
Oct 4, 2015 10:17 PM - Mike Glass: no did not but probably should but it looks fine
    Oct 4, 2015 10:18 PM - Mike Glass: 20 power
    Oct 4, 2015 10:18 PM - NFOsec: yeah, speed/power more to ya.
Oct 4, 2015 10:18 PM - Mike Glass: I could go faster I suppose but dont like how the bed wobbles
Oct 4, 2015 10:19 PM - Mike Glass: and go too fast it will shake it too much being that low, when it is up higher I wedge cardboard on the sides to stiffen it.
Oct 4, 2015 10:20 PM - Mike Glass: almost done
Oct 4, 2015 10:21 PM - Mike Glass: then its bedtime for bonzo
Oct 4, 2015 10:21 PM - NFOsec: yeah, take it easy gonzo, until next bat challenge.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:21 PM - Mike Glass: woot
Oct 4, 2015 10:21 PM - NFOsec: oh, that reminds me.
Oct 4, 2015 10:21 PM - NFOsec: there ARE some bolts (the brackets) that hold the threaded rtods in place.
Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: you need to tighten those. Mine were loose.
Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: I forgot to mention that, that's why I didn't think much of it when you said a little wobbly at first.
Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - Mike Glass: ok will look into that
Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: you'll see them, I guarantee that will take the wobble away.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: cheers.
Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: in fact I was missing one bolt.
Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - Mike Glass: sweet thanks.

Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: life, probably how they made their profit.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: cheers.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: later.
    Oct 4, 2015 10:23 PM - Mike Glass: night,
    Oct 5, 2015 4:51 AM - jbigler1986: morning
    Oct 5, 2015 5:20 AM - Bill Monroe: morning
    Oct 5, 2015 5:22 AM - jbigler1986: hello
    Oct 5, 2015 5:22 AM - jbigler1986: got a new toy yesterday
    Oct 5, 2015 5:34 AM - Bill Monroe: fun
    Oct 5, 2015 5:35 AM - JeffTheMess: morning roboneers
    Oct 5, 2015 5:35 AM - Bill Monroe: Jeff
Oct 5, 2015 5:36 AM - JeffTheMess: how goes it Bill
Oct 5, 2015 5:36 AM - Bill Monroe: pretty good... relaxing in Joshua Tree
    Oct 5, 2015 5:36 AM - Bill Monroe: you?
    Oct 5, 2015 5:37 AM - JeffTheMess: lucky you...being a slave at work :)
Oct 5, 2015 5:40 AM - Bill Monroe: spent some time in the jacuzzi with 2.0 this morning.. gunna replace a light fixture in a bit, then take the Thompson out for a little excersize
Oct 5, 2015 5:40 AM - JeffTheMess: the good life
Oct 5, 2015 5:42 AM - Bill Monroe: yup back to reality Wednesday :)
    Oct 5, 2015 5:46 AM - jbigler1986: job?
Oct 5, 2015 5:47 AM - Bill Monroe: no.. looking for one :)
    Oct 5, 2015 5:47 AM - jbigler1986: ahh. you will find something
    Oct 5, 2015 5:47 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
Oct 5, 2015 5:48 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. i'm not really in to looking right now.. just not feeling it
    Oct 5, 2015 5:49 AM - jbigler1986: i can imagine
Oct 5, 2015 5:49 AM - jbigler1986: how long were you at your last company?
    Oct 5, 2015 5:49 AM - Bill Monroe: 15 years
    Oct 5, 2015 5:50 AM - jbigler1986: always tough starting over
    Oct 5, 2015 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: i'm able to retire.... that's not helping :)
Oct 5, 2015 5:51 AM - JeffTheMess: you can retire now? that does make it harder
Oct 5, 2015 5:51 AM - jbigler1986: Bill million dollar question. Would i be able to run a vfd spindle from an uno and cnc shield?
Oct 5, 2015 5:51 AM - jbigler1986: or do i need to have a seperate controller box for it
Oct 5, 2015 5:51 AM - Bill Monroe: dunno.. all my cnc stuff runs from more sophisticated controls
    Oct 5, 2015 5:52 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/GDZ-...tor-For-CNC-Milling-Engraving/2021806882.html
Oct 5, 2015 5:52 AM - Bill Monroe: and honestly, a VFD spindle isnt really worth the trouble for a hobby machine
    Oct 5, 2015 5:52 AM - jbigler1986: that is the spindle I have. 110v instead of 220 though
    Oct 5, 2015 5:53 AM - jbigler1986: it came with the machine
Oct 5, 2015 5:53 AM - Bill Monroe: ah.. if you aleady have it.. what's the target use?
    Oct 5, 2015 5:53 AM - jbigler1986: signs and small aluminum parts
    Oct 5, 2015 5:54 AM - jbigler1986: CNC 6040 is the machine I got for $275
    Oct 5, 2015 5:55 AM - Bill Monroe: got a link?
Oct 5, 2015 5:55 AM - Bill Monroe: wierd aspect ratio
Oct 5, 2015 6:01 AM - Bill Monroe: did it come with the VFD too?
    Oct 5, 2015 6:17 AM - NFOsec: morning.
    Oct 5, 2015 6:21 AM - JeffTheMess: morning
Oct 5, 2015 6:23 AM - NFOsec: Bill: that aspect ratio was kind of targeted towards signage -- I'm sure you've seen more radical ones, I know I have.
    Oct 5, 2015 6:23 AM - NFOsec: what's up Mess?
Oct 5, 2015 6:24 AM - NFOsec: I wonder how much weight difference there is between a balasa and PLA part for RC plane modeling.
Oct 5, 2015 6:25 AM - JeffTheMess: depends on your infill
Oct 5, 2015 6:25 AM - danzca6: probably depends on infill and wall thickness
Oct 5, 2015 6:28 AM - JeffTheMess: best way to figure it out is to measure a piece of balasa print a copy of it and weight trying different infills to get a good balance of weight
Oct 5, 2015 6:32 AM - NFOsec: yeah, going to have to do a 100% and 30%-40% (probably the lowest I'd go for twist integrity strength)
Oct 5, 2015 6:33 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah, probably 3d prints will have better accuracy than a person would
Oct 5, 2015 6:34 AM - NFOsec: yeah, no doubt there. structurally I'd say it's more sound in a way, but consistent and well fused layers, type of filament, etc. are all key.
    Oct 5, 2015 6:36 AM - NFOsec: I did a 100% from scratch balsa model of this, I'd like to go hybrid or all 3D - http://www.yellowaircraft.com/jets/f18s.htm
Oct 5, 2015 6:38 AM - JeffTheMess: nice...you have the cad files? or will you be making it on your own
Oct 5, 2015 6:38 AM - NFOsec: used plans from RCM which back then were so cheap it wasn't funny.
Oct 5, 2015 6:39 AM - NFOsec: Oh, I can drop those in CAD in a heartbeat, but sourcing the files would be more fun.
    Oct 5, 2015 6:40 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
    Oct 5, 2015 6:40 AM - JeffTheMess: sounds fun
Oct 5, 2015 6:40 AM - NFOsec: yeah. someone was on yesterday asking about a good glider to print, I was hoping bill was around then as he might have had some ideas.
Oct 5, 2015 6:42 AM - NFOsec: was that you Jeff?
Oct 5, 2015 6:45 AM - jbigler1986: Bill it did not come with the VFD
    Oct 5, 2015 6:47 AM - jbigler1986: morning NFO
Oct 5, 2015 7:08 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah that was me
Oct 5, 2015 7:16 AM - NFOsec: ah, you should ask Bill when he wakes up from his nap.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:16 AM - JeffTheMess: yup
Oct 5, 2015 7:16 AM - JeffTheMess: if he wakes up
Oct 5, 2015 7:18 AM - jbigler1986: does he ever fully wake up?
Oct 5, 2015 7:31 AM - NFOsec: when 2.0 and the jacuzzi are fired up.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:31 AM - jbigler1986: true
    Oct 5, 2015 7:33 AM - Mike Kelly: morning
    Oct 5, 2015 7:34 AM - JeffTheMess: morning mike
    Oct 5, 2015 7:35 AM - jbigler1986: morning
    Oct 5, 2015 7:37 AM - NFOsec: Morning Mike.
Oct 5, 2015 7:39 AM - Mike Kelly: how are things in here
    Oct 5, 2015 7:40 AM - jbigler1986: good
    Oct 5, 2015 7:40 AM - jbigler1986: giving the 8825 drivers a try. We shall see
Oct 5, 2015 7:41 AM - jbigler1986: how is your monday so far?
    Oct 5, 2015 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: oh it's a monday
Oct 5, 2015 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: i'll never understand why when i reopen a system model it's full of errors but when i closed it it wasn't
    Oct 5, 2015 7:43 AM - jbigler1986: that is weird
Oct 5, 2015 7:43 AM - NFOsec: feature of the Microsoft OS and APIs developers use?
Oct 5, 2015 7:44 AM - Mike Kelly: they're just being considerate and giving me work to do...
Oct 5, 2015 7:45 AM - NFOsec: yeah, job security without having to corrupt it yourself.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:45 AM - NFOsec: nice.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:46 AM - daniel871: Hm.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:46 AM - daniel871: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/NEW-...nter-ABS-PLA-Metal-Frame-300/32485548096.html
Oct 5, 2015 7:47 AM - jbigler1986: i cancelled my order from them. The seller just had way to cheap prices on everything
Oct 5, 2015 7:47 AM - Mike Kelly: soupaboy just bought that
Oct 5, 2015 7:47 AM - jbigler1986: Plus he was a new seller as well
Oct 5, 2015 7:48 AM - daniel871: I'm a bit torn on it, because payment goes in escrow on there until both buyer and seller give feedback.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:48 AM - jbigler1986: that's the same seller i cancelled my order from
Oct 5, 2015 7:49 AM - Mike Kelly: omg what is happening here
    Oct 5, 2015 7:49 AM - jbigler1986: ?
Oct 5, 2015 7:49 AM - Mike Kelly: my model is freaking out
    Oct 5, 2015 7:49 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...-parallel-arm-Kossel/1936246_32485520670.html
Oct 5, 2015 7:51 AM - jbigler1986: lots of people have ordered stuff from the seller but there is 0 feedback. I don't like that
    Oct 5, 2015 7:51 AM - jbigler1986: "Store has been opened since September 29th"
Oct 5, 2015 7:52 AM - Mike Kelly: something definitely smells fishy about it
    Oct 5, 2015 7:52 AM - JeffTheMess: ^yeah

Oct 5, 2015 7:52 AM - daniel871: Probably going to bookmark it and wait for reviews to post. Should be a week or two.
Oct 5, 2015 7:53 AM - jbigler1986: yep. they approved my refund so should have the funds back in a day or 2
Oct 5, 2015 7:54 AM - jbigler1986: if the prices weren't all insanely low it would be more believable
Oct 5, 2015 7:54 AM - Mike Kelly: if the delta is the same prices after reviews i'll consider it
Oct 5, 2015 7:55 AM - Mike Kelly: my theory is they have a fire sale to get a lot of business then put the prices up to a normal level
    Oct 5, 2015 7:55 AM - jbigler1986: could be
    Oct 5, 2015 7:56 AM - jbigler1986: i just don't have a good feeling about it
Oct 5, 2015 7:56 AM - Mike Kelly: though that's giving them a strong benefit of the doubt
Oct 5, 2015 7:57 AM - NFOsec: I don't see where anyone has had enuogh time to even respond, orders wouldn't necessarily have arrived just yet.
    Oct 5, 2015 7:57 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/pro...nclosed-Chamber-with/1936246_32485516287.html
    Oct 5, 2015 7:57 AM - jbigler1986: that is also true NFO
Oct 5, 2015 7:57 AM - Mike Kelly: in other news i'm about ready to throw all these spools of monoprice filament away
    Oct 5, 2015 7:58 AM - jbigler1986: no balls
Oct 5, 2015 7:58 AM - Mike Kelly: seems to know exactly when i'm going to bed and decides to fail right then
Oct 5, 2015 7:58 AM - NFOsec: I love how the picture doesn't show the extruder/rails on the top.
Oct 5, 2015 7:59 AM - NFOsec: MK: continue to throw them away. In fact, a local hardware store might go for them?
Oct 5, 2015 7:59 AM - jbigler1986: if it seems to good to be true. It usually is
Oct 5, 2015 8:00 AM - NFOsec: jbig: sometimes. luck of the draw and the overall odds say more.
Oct 5, 2015 8:00 AM - NFOsec: need to research similar to BBB the orgasnization in question.
Oct 5, 2015 8:02 AM - Sonny's Robo3D: Looks like a chinese clone - the picture on top doesn't match the real flashforge
    Oct 5, 2015 8:03 AM - jbigler1986: i'm sure it's a clone
Oct 5, 2015 8:03 AM - Mike Kelly: flashforges are open source so yeah, clone
    Oct 5, 2015 8:04 AM - WheresWaldo: Mid-morning everyone.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:05 AM - Mike Kelly: howdy
Oct 5, 2015 8:06 AM - WheresWaldo: @jb the kossel at the de.aliexpress site is a scam, don't bother bookmarking it. been on for quite some time. The printer from legit Aliexpress is about $300.
Oct 5, 2015 8:06 AM - JeffTheMess: anyone ever heard of filling a 3d print with expanding foam?
    Oct 5, 2015 8:06 AM - Mike Kelly: http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?threads/bondtech-v2-extruder-thoughts.6779/#post-58261 this is cool
Oct 5, 2015 8:06 AM - Mike Kelly: jeff i've heard of people using hot glue
Oct 5, 2015 8:06 AM - WheresWaldo: JTM, how would you know you got all the cavity filled.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:07 AM - JeffTheMess: cool
    Oct 5, 2015 8:07 AM - jbigler1986: isn't that what you wanted MK?
    Oct 5, 2015 8:08 AM - Mike Kelly: it's close
Oct 5, 2015 8:08 AM - WheresWaldo: I've heard the hot glue also. I think the people whow had one of the first Carbon Fiber/fiberglass printers at CES a few ago, did a post of various infills.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:08 AM - Mike Kelly: it's cool though
Oct 5, 2015 8:08 AM - jbigler1986: looks like he needs to install lead screws. he has ribbing
Oct 5, 2015 8:08 AM - NFOsec: one without infills would be easier to fill.
Oct 5, 2015 8:08 AM - Mike Kelly: waldo, markforged?
Oct 5, 2015 8:09 AM - WheresWaldo: I think so, I remember seeing a Youtube on them printing a wrench with various material infills.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:09 AM - JeffTheMess: nice
Oct 5, 2015 8:10 AM - WheresWaldo: I believe they werte trying to show a CF wrench filled with fiberglass.
Oct 5, 2015 8:10 AM - Mike Kelly: i got to feel the difference between them
Oct 5, 2015 8:10 AM - Mike Kelly: the CF is crazy strong and light
Oct 5, 2015 8:10 AM - Mike Kelly: fiberglass is really similar in strength but has a lot more heft to it
Oct 5, 2015 8:11 AM - WheresWaldo: Its a cool concept, I wonder if the new E3D nozzles could do fiberglass?
Oct 5, 2015 8:11 AM - Mike Kelly: well they use continuous strands
Oct 5, 2015 8:12 AM - Mike Kelly: so it's a bit more complex than that
Oct 5, 2015 8:12 AM - Mike Kelly: cause you need a way of cutting the filament
Oct 5, 2015 8:12 AM - WheresWaldo: Yeah I recall that, I don't remember them saying they cut anything.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:13 AM - Mike Kelly: well they're rather secrative
Oct 5, 2015 8:13 AM - Mike Kelly: they don't give a lot of details about their system
Oct 5, 2015 8:14 AM - WheresWaldo: I guess we could do fiberglass impregnated filaments, as a substitute. If such a thing exists.
Oct 5, 2015 8:14 AM - Mike Kelly: it does
    Oct 5, 2015 8:14 AM - NFOsec: MarkForged.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:14 AM - NFOsec: https://www.getprinting3d.com/index...nt/fiberglass-cfftm-filament-50cm3-spool.html
Oct 5, 2015 8:15 AM - Mike Kelly: i was kinda surprised how itty bitty their spools were
Oct 5, 2015 8:16 AM - NFOsec: yeah,. no kidding.
Oct 5, 2015 8:16 AM - NFOsec: that's where the industry gets ripped off unfortuantely since most other parts are well balanced by competition.
Oct 5, 2015 8:16 AM - JeffTheMess: well for the price...who would buy so much
Oct 5, 2015 8:17 AM - Mike Kelly: it's a very niche market so they can afford to charge high prices
Oct 5, 2015 8:17 AM - Mike Kelly: until someone else figures it out
    Oct 5, 2015 8:20 AM - JeffTheMess: http://3dprint.com/89629/3ding-fabx-2-0-3d-printer/
Oct 5, 2015 8:22 AM - JeffTheMess: and while your at it "print" with light
    Oct 5, 2015 8:22 AM - JeffTheMess:

Oct 5, 2015 8:26 AM - Mike Kelly: wow ugly
    Oct 5, 2015 8:26 AM - JeffTheMess: price tag only 10 grand
Oct 5, 2015 8:29 AM - WheresWaldo: You can charge whatever you like on Shapeways, there are basically no guidelines. My most expensive item is about $60.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:30 AM - Mattchu: morning everyone!
Oct 5, 2015 8:30 AM - Mike Kelly: morning matt
    Oct 5, 2015 8:31 AM - JeffTheMess: hi there
Oct 5, 2015 8:32 AM - Mike Kelly: man i really wish we had a cnc tube bender
Oct 5, 2015 8:33 AM - JeffTheMess: ahh i bet in a night you can make one
    Oct 5, 2015 8:33 AM - NFOsec: Hello Matt.
    Oct 5, 2015 8:34 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
Oct 5, 2015 8:34 AM - Mike Kelly: i've never worked with hydraulics before
Oct 5, 2015 8:34 AM - Mike Kelly: 6000 psi makes me nervous
    Oct 5, 2015 8:36 AM - Mattchu: as it should MK :p
Oct 5, 2015 8:37 AM - Mattchu: it makes me nervous lol
    Oct 5, 2015 8:37 AM - Mike Glass: morning
    Oct 5, 2015 8:38 AM - NFOsec: most interesting Shapeways product -
Oct 5, 2015 8:38 AM - NFOsec: hello Mr. Glass.
Oct 5, 2015 8:39 AM - Mike Glass: so much fun going back to work and finding a dns server dead..
Oct 5, 2015 8:39 AM - NFOsec: well, we'll blame he who we shall not name.
Oct 5, 2015 8:40 AM - NFOsec: Tom Riddle? Lord Voldemort...
Oct 5, 2015 8:40 AM - NFOsec: MG: might be ideal to start teaching people how to remember IP addresses, and make it fun to change AND lease them out daily
Oct 5, 2015 8:42 AM - Mike Glass: haha, yea our helpdesk is basically worthless.
Oct 5, 2015 8:48 AM - Mike Kelly: man people are too willing to buy the v6 for like no reason
Oct 5, 2015 8:50 AM - NFOsec: yeah, because they don't "get it".
Oct 5, 2015 8:51 AM - NFOsec: If I could do a commercial, it weould be: "I'm all stock and proud".
Oct 5, 2015 8:52 AM - NFOsec: perhaps they are projecting the need to strap on a "better" tool because they heard that was what mattered -- or they're having failures with their existing and figured another tool would fix it?
Oct 5, 2015 8:56 AM - Mike Kelly: it used to be an improvement, back before they did the hex
Oct 5, 2015 8:56 AM - Mike Kelly: now it's so minor they wouldn't really even notice
    Oct 5, 2015 8:59 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/RioRand-Drive...1012&sr=8-1&keywords=spindle+speed+controller hopefully this guy won't fry with my spindle
    Oct 5, 2015 9:00 AM - Mike Kelly: http://thinkl33t.co.uk/anatomy-of-a-scam-the-tale-of-the-40-3d-printer/
    Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - jbigler1986: ?
    Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - Mike Kelly: i need to read more :)
    Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - jbigler1986: lol
Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - Mike Kelly: does that accept a pwm input or what
    Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - daniel871: [IMG]
    Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - jbigler1986: yeah. it allows mach3 to control it

    Oct 5, 2015 9:04 AM - NFOsec: that's funny MK.
Oct 5, 2015 9:05 AM - jbigler1986: otherwise there is no other way to control the spindle speed
Oct 5, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: oh yeah
    Oct 5, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: hmm that's mighty tempting
Oct 5, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: i wonder if that would work on my router
Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - NFOsec: I solicited a vendor on Ali for those coins, they sell at .30 each up to 1.30 with artwork on each side. I told the vendor I didn't want artwork, just wanted the coins. they came back with a base price of $1.50 per coin, $100 mold set up fee, andf or 100 coins a $145 shipping via DHL.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: i just hope the spindle doesn't fry it
Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: does your spindle specs say what the current draw is
Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - NFOsec: so, in essence, I could have bought them with art done for less, or bought them state-side for less.
Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - NFOsec: but I'd have to rip the art (epoxy inserts) out.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: 5ams
    Oct 5, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: 5amps
Oct 5, 2015 9:07 AM - NFOsec: you said spindle was doing 15a?
    Oct 5, 2015 9:07 AM - jbigler1986: no the PSU i ordered is 15a
Oct 5, 2015 9:07 AM - Mike Kelly: alright screw it, i'm buying the DVR8825's
Oct 5, 2015 9:08 AM - Mike Kelly: someone was generous and gave me a donation, so that helps
Oct 5, 2015 9:08 AM - NFOsec: make sure you get e3d v6 as well!
    Oct 5, 2015 9:08 AM - NFOsec: lol.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:08 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
Oct 5, 2015 9:08 AM - Mike Kelly: i'm still kinda kicking myself for selling my v6's but i think it was for the best
    Oct 5, 2015 9:09 AM - jbigler1986: i can sell you mine cheap
Oct 5, 2015 9:09 AM - Mike Kelly: don't really need it tbh
    Oct 5, 2015 9:09 AM - jbigler1986: the real ones
    Oct 5, 2015 9:10 AM - jbigler1986: imgur sucks right now

Oct 5, 2015 9:11 AM - Mike Kelly: got a pump for the water?
    Oct 5, 2015 9:11 AM - jbigler1986: spindle specs except mine is 110v
    Oct 5, 2015 9:11 AM - jbigler1986: i do
    Oct 5, 2015 9:11 AM - jbigler1986: came with it

    Oct 5, 2015 9:14 AM - NFOsec: yeah, awesome.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:14 AM - jbigler1986:
    Oct 5, 2015 9:15 AM - Mike Kelly: lol
Oct 5, 2015 9:16 AM - Mike Kelly: the mythbusters get to have way too much fun
    Oct 5, 2015 9:16 AM - jbigler1986: lucky
Oct 5, 2015 9:16 AM - Mattchu: I needed that this morning, MK lol
Oct 5, 2015 9:17 AM - NFOsec: another approach jb.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:17 AM - NFOsec:
Oct 5, 2015 9:17 AM - NFOsec: a little less damaging to the cars.
Oct 5, 2015 9:17 AM - Mattchu: that as well JB and NFO
Oct 5, 2015 9:19 AM - NFOsec: Just tell yourself: "I've got the power..."
Oct 5, 2015 9:20 AM - WheresWaldo: Hey JB have you looked at these as an upgrade = http://www.panucatt.com/product_p/sd6128.htm
    Oct 5, 2015 9:22 AM - jbigler1986: hmmm. If the 8825 ones don't work i will try those
Oct 5, 2015 9:22 AM - NFOsec: MG: the roller rings worked out well. I printed them out wide enough so I could use a rubber band around the edges for smooth traction on the rotary attachment.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:22 AM - Mike Kelly: holy hell 1/128 microstepping?
Oct 5, 2015 9:22 AM - WheresWaldo: I figured it was right up your alley, I mean who doesn't want 128 microstepping?
Oct 5, 2015 9:22 AM - NFOsec: created a circle with square form inner for the olive oil bottles (square as they are).
Oct 5, 2015 9:22 AM - Mike Glass: thats insane
Oct 5, 2015 9:23 AM - WheresWaldo: And drop in replacement for the current RAMPS steppers.
Oct 5, 2015 9:24 AM - WheresWaldo: Could make for an extremely quiet printer.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Kelly: http://imgur.com/gallery/fF1za
Oct 5, 2015 9:24 AM - Mike Glass: 1/32 is real quiet on my cnc, it purs.
Oct 5, 2015 9:25 AM - jbigler1986: yeah they would be for cnc no my printer
Oct 5, 2015 9:25 AM - WheresWaldo: MG, I'm going that route with the spider 1/32 and 9° steppers
    Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - Mike Glass: with a dremel?
Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - NFOsec: OMG on the outlet boxes.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - Mike Glass: stack em high..lol
    Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - jbigler1986: dremel?
Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - NFOsec: well, one way to do it vs. simply dropping 2x4s down.
Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - Mike Glass: I like the sideway cleanouts
Oct 5, 2015 9:26 AM - NFOsec: I guess someone never took basic framing classes.
Oct 5, 2015 9:27 AM - jbigler1986: some awesome plumbing going on there
Oct 5, 2015 9:27 AM - Mike Glass: Not you jb, waldo
Oct 5, 2015 9:27 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i don't think they really "get" why sinks have a trap
Oct 5, 2015 9:27 AM - Mike Kelly: i bet those places smell like high hell
    Oct 5, 2015 9:28 AM - jbigler1986: if I have spindle issues i will just get a good router
Oct 5, 2015 9:28 AM - WheresWaldo: MG Spider will be my bigbox style printer
Oct 5, 2015 9:28 AM - Mike Glass: yes I know what it is, but what spindle are you using?
    Oct 5, 2015 9:29 AM - jbigler1986: gdz-65-800
    Oct 5, 2015 9:29 AM - WheresWaldo: I don't have a CNC yet?
Oct 5, 2015 9:29 AM - jbigler1986: mg are you talking to me or waldo?
    Oct 5, 2015 9:29 AM - WheresWaldo: I'm confused too.
Oct 5, 2015 9:30 AM - Mike Glass: haha I though you said you where going to route, not go that route..lol
Oct 5, 2015 9:30 AM - Mattchu: MK, you get that email?
Oct 5, 2015 9:31 AM - WheresWaldo: Oh, I router I own, but never though about using that for a CNC, it's a Makita 2.5 hp, too big for a small CNC
Oct 5, 2015 9:32 AM - NFOsec: I've been using my trusty Hitachi MV12 for general routing of things -- does the job.
Oct 5, 2015 9:33 AM - NFOsec: one of the more quiet routers as I've been told.
Oct 5, 2015 9:33 AM - Mike Glass: bless you.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:33 AM - Mike Glass: Hitachi---sounds like a sneeze
Oct 5, 2015 9:33 AM - NFOsec: MG: going religious at the moment?
    Oct 5, 2015 9:33 AM - NFOsec: hit a chi.
Oct 5, 2015 9:33 AM - Mike Glass: hmm still no water temp yet.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - Mike Glass: gauge
Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - NFOsec: MG: what do you mean?
Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - NFOsec: not come in yet?
Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah matt just read it
    Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - NFOsec: that's semi-sucky.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - Mike Glass: no:(
    Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - jbigler1986: I love my hitachi cordless drill
Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - Mike Glass: got 10 voltage regulators in though.
Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - NFOsec: comes in the smalleset package you can imagine.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - Mattchu: awesome ^_^
Oct 5, 2015 9:34 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah, the beer is called "Your father smells of elderberrries" from Stone
Oct 5, 2015 9:35 AM - Mike Glass: 5 in pairs for total of 10, for my purdy lights
Oct 5, 2015 9:35 AM - Mike Kelly: i should put my led's on a VR, maybe dim them a bit so they're not so blinding
    Oct 5, 2015 9:36 AM - Mike Glass: I got these cheap
Oct 5, 2015 9:36 AM - Mike Kelly: i have some from my solenoid project
    Oct 5, 2015 9:36 AM - Mike Kelly: they're adjustable

    Oct 5, 2015 9:37 AM - Mike Kelly: heh
Oct 5, 2015 9:37 AM - Mattchu: I can find that easily I believe, MK. It's still on the shelves as of the weekend.
Oct 5, 2015 9:37 AM - Mike Kelly: sweet, my wife would love to try it
Oct 5, 2015 9:37 AM - Mike Kelly: i can get you the dxf's at lunch, my wife is working from home right now
Oct 5, 2015 9:39 AM - Mike Glass: you cant go home if your wife is there?

Oct 5, 2015 9:40 AM - Mattchu: that's perfect MK. Also, Ridout plastic is amazing for scrap remstock O_O
Oct 5, 2015 9:40 AM - Mattchu: usa branded acrylite for under a buck a sheet.

    Oct 5, 2015 9:42 AM - jbigler1986: never
Oct 5, 2015 9:43 AM - Mike Glass: NFO, so the bands go on the metal spindles?
Oct 5, 2015 9:49 AM - NFOsec: bands go on the rings, sort of like tires.
Oct 5, 2015 9:50 AM - NFOsec: I did see that you could rubberize the spindles but there is no point in that.
Oct 5, 2015 9:50 AM - NFOsec: think rim - plastic printed ring, tire rubber - rubber band.
    Oct 5, 2015 9:50 AM - jbigler1986: http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/05/middleeast/syria-isis-palmyra-arch-of-triumph/index.html
    Oct 5, 2015 9:50 AM - jbigler1986: ridiculous
Oct 5, 2015 9:50 AM - NFOsec: call it an early 1900's bicycle with a flat tire.
Oct 5, 2015 9:51 AM - NFOsec: jb: definitely, but one thing for sure, in the next 18 months genetic targetted killings will start becoming the norm, perhaps the "world" will be able to clean up shop.
Oct 5, 2015 9:52 AM - jbigler1986: it's just insane. been there for 1800 years and they destroy it just because. Some people
Oct 5, 2015 9:53 AM - NFOsec: I used a rubber band to hold the rings in place so the plastic didn't slip off. truth is, a good black o-ring probably wuold have done the job too. key was making sure the objecte was level, so the "wheels" were reaching the same size externally but internally they were not.
Oct 5, 2015 9:53 AM - NFOsec: yeah. there are far worst things that have happened that just don't hit the news out of fear of major retaliations.
Oct 5, 2015 9:53 AM - NFOsec: kind of part of the time I wish I wasn't in the field so to speak.
Oct 5, 2015 10:02 AM - Mike Glass: do you have a pic NFO
Oct 5, 2015 10:10 AM - NFOsec: a pic of the wheels on the bus?
Oct 5, 2015 10:10 AM - Mike Kelly: tim elmore bugs me
Oct 5, 2015 10:10 AM - NFOsec: I know the feeling Mike Kelly, I get the same from Mike Glass.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:10 AM - NFOsec: LOL
    Oct 5, 2015 10:11 AM - jbigler1986: lol
Oct 5, 2015 10:12 AM - Mike Kelly: he was saying that the stud thermistors aren't safe to 280 because it uses ptfe sleeving on the thermistors

Oct 5, 2015 10:38 AM - JeffTheMess: you going for it?
Oct 5, 2015 10:41 AM - danzca6: I don't have a need for it now, but it's interesting the direction they are going with the controller board
Oct 5, 2015 10:42 AM - Mike Kelly: dan did you get your IR sensor yet?
Oct 5, 2015 10:42 AM - Mike Glass: ahha crypto lock stricks again, people are so stupid.
Oct 5, 2015 10:43 AM - danzca6: I did get the IR and the wiring, but was too busy cutting up trees this weekend to play with it
    Oct 5, 2015 10:44 AM - Mike Kelly: nice
    Oct 5, 2015 10:44 AM - jbigler1986: priorities dan. priorities
    Oct 5, 2015 10:44 AM - danzca6: lol...yeah...best laid plans and all
Oct 5, 2015 10:45 AM - danzca6: hope to have some time tonight to start the projects I have lined up for the robo. Not sure where to start first :)
    Oct 5, 2015 10:52 AM - JeffTheMess:
Oct 5, 2015 10:55 AM - jbigler1986: needs a way to use the drill without holding onto it
    Oct 5, 2015 10:56 AM - Mike Kelly: http://imgur.com/a/Ytscx
Oct 5, 2015 10:57 AM - Mattchu: okay kids, catch you later...gotta go drive in the rain...in San Diego (fun fact: we lose our pretty little minds when it rains...like even a mild sprinkle we treat like the world is ending)
Oct 5, 2015 10:58 AM - JeffTheMess: that is true
Oct 5, 2015 10:58 AM - JeffTheMess: thats so cool Mike
    Oct 5, 2015 10:58 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
Oct 5, 2015 11:01 AM - JeffTheMess: good idea if you are carefully not to move your print
Oct 5, 2015 11:03 AM - danzca6: MK, how did you plug your IR into the controller board on the Robo? Maybe that's in Jim's thread.
Oct 5, 2015 11:04 AM - jbigler1986: think he just plugged it in where the z limit switch is
Oct 5, 2015 11:05 AM - danzca6: that is where I was hoping it would go and no firmware change would be needed, but wanted to double check since I didn't really look at that part yet
Oct 5, 2015 11:05 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah just goes into the normal limit switch spot
    Oct 5, 2015 11:05 AM - Mike Kelly: (+) is the 5v output
    Oct 5, 2015 11:05 AM - Mike Kelly: (-) is common ground
Oct 5, 2015 11:06 AM - Mike Kelly: then S is the sense point
Oct 5, 2015 11:06 AM - Mike Kelly: and no firmware changes are needed
Oct 5, 2015 11:08 AM - danzca6: awesome...this will be easier than thought then. Thanks mike
    Oct 5, 2015 11:08 AM - toymaker: howdy =)
Oct 5, 2015 11:09 AM - danzca6: now as long as I don't do something stupid and it cracks my glass or something ;)
Oct 5, 2015 11:09 AM - Mike Kelly: hey you figured out your original login
    Oct 5, 2015 11:10 AM - toymaker: lol yeah...
Oct 5, 2015 11:10 AM - Mike Kelly: na dan you'll over torque your steppers before cracking the glass and even then you'd need your Z nuts hard secured to your idlers
Oct 5, 2015 11:10 AM - Mike Kelly: found that out unfortunately
Oct 5, 2015 11:10 AM - toymaker: been busy finally moved into my new shop/space
    Oct 5, 2015 11:10 AM - jbigler1986: long time no see
Oct 5, 2015 11:11 AM - toymaker: mom got got breast cancer... =\ she's ok
    Oct 5, 2015 11:11 AM - JeffTheMess: damn :(
    Oct 5, 2015 11:11 AM - toymaker: she got a 10 out of 40 ... meaning no kemo
Oct 5, 2015 11:11 AM - jbigler1986: sorry to hear that. never an easy thing to hear
    Oct 5, 2015 11:11 AM - danzca6: glad to hear she's ok
Oct 5, 2015 11:12 AM - Mike Glass: Hey Toy, welcome back
Oct 5, 2015 11:12 AM - toymaker: alot of running aound and stuff...
Oct 5, 2015 11:12 AM - toymaker: woot good to be back
Oct 5, 2015 11:12 AM - Mike Glass: hard making fun of you when your not here.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:12 AM - toymaker: i know
Oct 5, 2015 11:13 AM - Mike Glass: hows the new space?
Oct 5, 2015 11:14 AM - toymaker: made some more money with my 3d printer... designed a part that take a roll of paper and fold/guides in half for a label machine
Oct 5, 2015 11:14 AM - jbigler1986: caught on fire due to bad wiring
    Oct 5, 2015 11:14 AM - jbigler1986: jk
Oct 5, 2015 11:14 AM - toymaker: not much wiring
    Oct 5, 2015 11:14 AM - toymaker: all i got is a 220 line that i branched out
Oct 5, 2015 11:15 AM - toymaker: still very ghetto lol
    Oct 5, 2015 11:15 AM - toymaker: but 950sqft beats what i had before
    Oct 5, 2015 11:15 AM - jbigler1986: should we expect anything else?
Oct 5, 2015 11:16 AM - toymaker: built the linux machine for my ar sandbox
Oct 5, 2015 11:16 AM - Mike Glass: wont your cnc take up 700sq ft..lol
Oct 5, 2015 11:16 AM - toymaker: no, i made a seprate room enclosure that is about 200sqft
Oct 5, 2015 11:16 AM - toymaker: for sound and dust, etc
Oct 5, 2015 11:18 AM - toymaker: kind of a weird shape but it big enough to put a 5x5 cnc, lathe, mill in, pretty tight with the doors closed

Oct 5, 2015 11:20 AM - toymaker: mg, where u still building the ar sandbox?
Oct 5, 2015 11:21 AM - Mike Glass: yea, got alot of projects going on now
Oct 5, 2015 11:21 AM - Mike Glass: working on my sla projector now.
Oct 5, 2015 11:22 AM - Mike Glass: if I cant fix that, I will scrap that till I find another.
Oct 5, 2015 11:22 AM - Mike Glass: but have 2 more regular projectors for the sandbox.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:22 AM - jbigler1986: make your own resin too
    Oct 5, 2015 11:22 AM - toymaker: i got the benq projector, 4790 w/ gtx 970, and kinect sensor
Oct 5, 2015 11:23 AM - toymaker: and all he steps completed up to calibrating the sensor/camera with sandbox
Oct 5, 2015 11:23 AM - Mike Glass: sweet, now you just need sand.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:24 AM - jbigler1986: plenty of that in texas
Oct 5, 2015 11:25 AM - toymaker: sand, and i need to design the overhead structure, mounting plates, etc
    Oct 5, 2015 11:25 AM - Mike Glass: just mount it too a quadcopter..lol
    Oct 5, 2015 11:26 AM - jbigler1986: octocopter
Oct 5, 2015 11:31 AM - NFOsec: what are you using a projector for?
Oct 5, 2015 11:32 AM - jbigler1986: well his name says it all NFO
Oct 5, 2015 11:33 AM - jbigler1986: he never said what kind of "toys"
Oct 5, 2015 11:38 AM - NFOsec: toycollector not maker.
Oct 5, 2015 11:40 AM - Mike Glass: Its a really cool sand table
Oct 5, 2015 11:40 AM - Mike Glass: let me see if I can find the link
    Oct 5, 2015 11:40 AM - Mike Glass: http://idav.ucdavis.edu/~okreylos/ResDev/SARndbox/
Oct 5, 2015 11:53 AM - NFOsec: Man, not looking forward to tomorrow. FIVE, not one, but FIVE panels covering 14 people for a 6 hour window of interviews.
Oct 5, 2015 11:53 AM - NFOsec: one hour of lunch and tour. God. shoot me now.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:53 AM - jbigler1986: that sounds horrible
Oct 5, 2015 11:56 AM - NFOsec: well, the problem with things like this is the better you are, the harder it gets when they decide to scrutinize you.
Oct 5, 2015 11:57 AM - NFOsec: whatever happened to hey, you're a nice guy, good personality, seem to know your stuff, you're hired.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:57 AM - NFOsec: LOL
Oct 5, 2015 12:06 PM - NFOsec: I guess if I'm riddled with bullet holes, you'll all know what happened to me.
Oct 5, 2015 12:25 PM - krouton3: well looks like thingiverse cleaned up their spambot problem for now
    Oct 5, 2015 12:38 PM - jim3Dbot: JB
    Oct 5, 2015 12:41 PM - jbigler1986: Jim
    Oct 5, 2015 12:41 PM - jim3Dbot: Noticed you were chk'ing out motor Drive
    Oct 5, 2015 12:42 PM - jbigler1986: huh?
Oct 5, 2015 12:42 PM - jim3Dbot: Is your CNC spindle an AC model, think it is..
    Oct 5, 2015 12:43 PM - jbigler1986: not sure honestly
Oct 5, 2015 12:43 PM - Mike Kelly: his is
Oct 5, 2015 12:44 PM - jbigler1986: i really hope that little speed controller will do it. don't want to spend $200 on a speed controller
Oct 5, 2015 12:44 PM - jim3Dbot: The water cooled spindle, probably requires an inverter drive........400hz...........the china drive, if I got it right..won't work with the motor...
Oct 5, 2015 12:46 PM - jim3Dbot: That motor drive will accept many AC or DC power sources........if you operate at 120vac....the motor drive will supply a PWM DC output to a 90vdc PM motor...
Oct 5, 2015 12:47 PM - jim3Dbot: You will be able to adjust speed with the supplied external pot...
    Oct 5, 2015 12:47 PM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/RioRand-Drive...1444074681&sr=8-1&keywords=spindle+controller
Oct 5, 2015 12:48 PM - jim3Dbot: But, you would have to swap spindle to a 90vdc Perm. Magnet motor.............Probably best to find a used inverter
    Oct 5, 2015 12:49 PM - jbigler1986: or just get a different spindle/router
Oct 5, 2015 12:50 PM - jim3Dbot: yes......items that are suggested are for the DC Drive shown...
Oct 5, 2015 12:50 PM - jbigler1986: unless i or someone stumbles across a good deal on an inverter
Oct 5, 2015 12:51 PM - jim3Dbot: That water cooled motor is very decent & fast
Oct 5, 2015 12:52 PM - jbigler1986: yeah. just seems like a huge pain in the ass to get it going though
    Oct 5, 2015 12:52 PM - jim3Dbot: But, you may not need that...............you are correct..........locate a combo
    Oct 5, 2015 12:53 PM - jim3Dbot: remember, a 120vac dc drive should be matched with a 90vdc Permenent Magnet Motor...
    Oct 5, 2015 12:55 PM - jbigler1986: yeah you lost me
Oct 5, 2015 12:55 PM - jim3Dbot: The drive maintains peak torque to the motor by always having 90vdc peak supplied to the motor at all times.....the speed varies the duty cycle of the 90vdc......chops it....ie. 50% duty cycle = full torque but 1/2 max speed..
    Oct 5, 2015 12:57 PM - jim3Dbot: sorry......look for a 90vdc motor of adequate horsepower & match a 90vdc motor drive
Oct 5, 2015 12:59 PM - jbigler1986: what do you mean by motor and drive?
Oct 5, 2015 1:00 PM - jim3Dbot: The motor would be the spindle/router, if you go with an 120vac motor then you will need a motor drive to run it......inverter
Oct 5, 2015 1:01 PM - jim3Dbot: if you install some sort of DC motor for the spindle, you will need a DC motor Drive.
Oct 5, 2015 1:02 PM - jim3Dbot: I seen the DC motor you shown earlier & thought you were thinking of purchasing for the existing ac spindle your cnc has...
    Oct 5, 2015 1:02 PM - jim3Dbot: DC motor drive, correction
    Oct 5, 2015 1:05 PM - Mike Glass: Jimbo
Oct 5, 2015 1:05 PM - jbigler1986: doesn't it go PSU, to speed controller to the arduino uno shield? then the spindle is wired to the speed controller
Oct 5, 2015 1:05 PM - jim3Dbot: I have a similar CNC built 10 years ago, it has a bosch router for the spindle motor.....no speed control.......just spins fast and cuts wood.......may cut alum. with the right bit just slower....can you just build a mount for a router, and mess with it?
    Oct 5, 2015 1:06 PM - jbigler1986: it already has a mount
    Oct 5, 2015 1:07 PM - jbigler1986: here is the the cnc. it's a CNC 6040
    Oct 5, 2015 1:07 PM - jim3Dbot: Hi Mike, gotcha......bit the controller for like $20 is a DC Controller/drive.....your motor AC?
    Oct 5, 2015 1:08 PM - jim3Dbot: but
    Oct 5, 2015 1:08 PM - jbigler1986: the speed controller does AC/DC
Oct 5, 2015 1:09 PM - jbigler1986: 1.Can support AC and DC input. Non-existent power supply polarity problems.
Oct 5, 2015 1:09 PM - jim3Dbot: The speed controller operates from AC or DC but, outputs to the motor PWM DC ,
    Oct 5, 2015 1:10 PM - jbigler1986: i get what you are saying
Oct 5, 2015 1:10 PM - jim3Dbot: You need alot of power to spin that motor hence the need for the drive/ controller.....I think you need an inverter to drive it...
    Oct 5, 2015 1:11 PM - jim3Dbot: I know you will figger it out......
    Oct 5, 2015 1:11 PM - jim3Dbot: new grounds that's all
Oct 5, 2015 1:11 PM - jbigler1986: i will probably just install a router for the time being to it. don't have any plans to cut aluminum right now anyways
Oct 5, 2015 1:12 PM - jim3Dbot: I got this great CNC with ball screws, heavy, never fired-up settin' in storage locker...
Oct 5, 2015 1:13 PM - jbigler1986: yeah it's really nice. i will end up getting a nice controller/invertor for it to make things easy
Oct 5, 2015 1:13 PM - jim3Dbot: That's the way to go...get her runnin' first, then do like the robo later...
Oct 5, 2015 1:14 PM - jbigler1986: just plan on wood right now
    Oct 5, 2015 1:14 PM - NFOsec: re-regreet-tweet
    Oct 5, 2015 1:14 PM - jbigler1986: cheapest controller/invertor i am finding is like $200
Oct 5, 2015 1:15 PM - jim3Dbot: if it is sized right for the motor you have, power wise.........good price...
    Oct 5, 2015 1:19 PM - jim3Dbot: did you receive the steppers X & Y with the machine?
    Oct 5, 2015 1:20 PM - Mike Glass: you need a 1.5KW inverter
    Oct 5, 2015 1:20 PM - jim3Dbot: agree
Oct 5, 2015 1:20 PM - jbigler1986: yeah the steppers came with it
    Oct 5, 2015 1:20 PM - jbigler1986: x,y,z
Oct 5, 2015 1:22 PM - jim3Dbot: either go with the inverter VFD or remove existing spindle & swap with 120vac direct drive router....you will have to design the mount, not difficult...
    Oct 5, 2015 1:22 PM - jbigler1986: http://www.amazon.com/Ten-high-3000...ds=1.5kw+inverter&refinements=p_85:2470955011
Oct 5, 2015 1:22 PM - Mike Glass: they have mounts on thingiverse that should work for the bosch and dewalt for those.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:22 PM - jim3Dbot: That s the type you need............
Oct 5, 2015 1:23 PM - jbigler1986: i bet a palm router will just clamp on to the current clamp wihtout issues
Oct 5, 2015 1:23 PM - Mike Glass: yea for $100 do that.
Oct 5, 2015 1:23 PM - Mike Glass: dont mess with that spindle
Oct 5, 2015 1:23 PM - NFOsec: whatever "he" says.
Oct 5, 2015 1:23 PM - jim3Dbot: Mike right again.......the cnc I have has a bosch router & I was able to locate an alum mount to fit
Oct 5, 2015 1:23 PM - NFOsec: he has a 'laser" and "cnc"
    Oct 5, 2015 1:24 PM - Mike Glass: and a spherebot
    Oct 5, 2015 1:24 PM - jim3Dbot: He's greedy.LOL
Oct 5, 2015 1:24 PM - jbigler1986: do you still use that spherebot
    Oct 5, 2015 1:24 PM - jim3Dbot: and a robo
    Oct 5, 2015 1:24 PM - Mike Glass: and a carvewright
Oct 5, 2015 1:25 PM - jim3Dbot: but do you have a spirograph by Kenner
Oct 5, 2015 1:25 PM - Mike Glass: Next is plasma cutter

    Oct 5, 2015 1:26 PM - jim3Dbot: you already are...............
Oct 5, 2015 1:26 PM - Mike Glass: no but I could laser one up Jim
    Oct 5, 2015 1:26 PM - jim3Dbot: yes U can
    Oct 5, 2015 1:27 PM - jim3Dbot: I gotta Light Bright
Oct 5, 2015 1:27 PM - Mike Glass: whats her name
    Oct 5, 2015 1:27 PM - jim3Dbot: hmmmm
    Oct 5, 2015 1:28 PM - jim3Dbot: Mike you cuttin' mulimula
    Oct 5, 2015 1:28 PM - jim3Dbot: munimula
Oct 5, 2015 1:28 PM - Mike Glass: um dont think so
    Oct 5, 2015 1:29 PM - jim3Dbot: thats alum spelled backwards
Oct 5, 2015 1:29 PM - Mike Glass: mula is alum spelled backwards..lol
    Oct 5, 2015 1:29 PM - Mike Glass: http://www.munimula.com/
    Oct 5, 2015 1:30 PM - jim3Dbot: yep, munimula
    Oct 5, 2015 1:30 PM - jim3Dbot: wow it's a real word.........who knew.........
Oct 5, 2015 1:31 PM - Mike Glass: not till i get plasma
    Oct 5, 2015 1:31 PM - jim3Dbot: let me say that with a lisp......who knew
    Oct 5, 2015 1:31 PM - jim3Dbot: plasma will make you mula
    Oct 5, 2015 1:33 PM - Mike Glass: so will CO2
    Oct 5, 2015 1:34 PM - jim3Dbot: laser power
Oct 5, 2015 1:35 PM - Mike Kelly: i think it's interesting how our plasma cutter makes the shop smell like a hockey rink
    Oct 5, 2015 1:35 PM - jim3Dbot: I'm not comfortable with a laser pointer....
Oct 5, 2015 1:35 PM - Mike Glass: either was I, but now im fine.
Oct 5, 2015 1:36 PM - NFOsec: why would you be fine now?
    Oct 5, 2015 1:36 PM - jim3Dbot: smells like ice?
Oct 5, 2015 1:36 PM - NFOsec: smells like the jock straps of the players, the blood that spills and chills on the rink, and the smell of hotdogs and spilt beer throughout the stadium.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:36 PM - Mike Glass: lol
Oct 5, 2015 1:37 PM - Mike Glass: NFO cause I have used one now, simple
Oct 5, 2015 1:37 PM - jim3Dbot: elvis has just left the buildin'
    Oct 5, 2015 1:37 PM - NFOsec: good deal.
Oct 5, 2015 1:37 PM - NFOsec: you will now be the in-house resident expert on Robolasering.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:38 PM - jim3Dbot: is that a real word also MK
Oct 5, 2015 1:38 PM - Mike Glass: now I just to start making money
    Oct 5, 2015 1:38 PM - jim3Dbot: re-coup
Oct 5, 2015 1:39 PM - NFOsec: I recouped my entire cost under 1 month.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:39 PM - NFOsec: now I'm slacking.
Oct 5, 2015 1:39 PM - Mike Glass: I havent recouped the cnc cost yet..lol
    Oct 5, 2015 1:39 PM - jim3Dbot: thats payback
    Oct 5, 2015 1:40 PM - jim3Dbot: you will
    Oct 5, 2015 1:40 PM - NFOsec: ouch.
Oct 5, 2015 1:40 PM - NFOsec: for me, that was recouped in about 3 months.
Oct 5, 2015 1:40 PM - NFOsec: you GOT to have a plan and stick to it.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:40 PM - NFOsec: bad boy.
Oct 5, 2015 1:42 PM - Mike Glass: Well I have lots of inventory, just no where to put it, we are taking some stuff tomorrow to a store in another town, this town is to cheap.
Oct 5, 2015 1:43 PM - Mike Glass: think $10 for bottles is too much?
Oct 5, 2015 1:44 PM - NFOsec: sfor an empty one?
    Oct 5, 2015 1:44 PM - NFOsec: no, that's a good general price point.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:44 PM - Mike Glass: no a engraved one
Oct 5, 2015 1:44 PM - NFOsec: please take your head out of your arse, it's not a hat. DUH, I figured that man.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:44 PM - NFOsec: $10-15 depending on how ornate.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:45 PM - Mike Glass: great I just gave away $30..lol
Oct 5, 2015 1:45 PM - NFOsec: don't give away, unless you make a deal with them to find you at least 2-3 customers at $10 a bottle.
Oct 5, 2015 1:46 PM - NFOsec: thats my strategy for freebies.
Oct 5, 2015 1:46 PM - Mike Glass: They actaully gave me stuff so it was kinda payback.
Oct 5, 2015 1:46 PM - NFOsec: Ron Pompeil approach -- tell a friend about it, but only a person can tell a friend and be excited about it.
    Oct 5, 2015 1:46 PM - NFOsec: no bartering.
Oct 5, 2015 1:46 PM - NFOsec: otherwise you lose out in the end.
Oct 5, 2015 1:47 PM - NFOsec: barter AFTER you recoup costs.
Oct 5, 2015 1:47 PM - Mike Glass: true that
    Oct 5, 2015 1:47 PM - Mike Glass: now I have to make a plan to make a plan..lol
Oct 5, 2015 1:51 PM - NFOsec: if you're giving away copyrighted logo work, etc. then you're fine, if you start selling it you have to seriously consider licensing.
Oct 5, 2015 1:51 PM - NFOsec: so try using royalty free stuff or original stuff whenever possible.
Oct 5, 2015 2:00 PM - Mike Glass: yea, anything tm I should probably stay away from, or make a slight change.
Oct 5, 2015 2:14 PM - Mike Kelly: [IMG] this joint is rad
Oct 5, 2015 2:17 PM - Nickbrown17: I like that joint. Hey Mike, you still on?
    Oct 5, 2015 2:17 PM - Mike Glass: neat
    Oct 5, 2015 2:19 PM - Mike Kelly: yes
Oct 5, 2015 2:20 PM - Nickbrown17: the piece that holds the filament against the hobbled bolt cracked. The washer pushes through the the crack because of the pressure from the spring. I'm using a larger washer for now, but do you know if there's a file for that piece so I can print a replacement?
Oct 5, 2015 2:20 PM - Nickbrown17: I've got a pretty stock R1, just upgraded to the v6, but the carriage is all stock
    Oct 5, 2015 2:22 PM - Mike Kelly: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:69794
Oct 5, 2015 2:22 PM - Nickbrown17: Hobbed bolt*, sorry for the autocorrect
    Oct 5, 2015 2:22 PM - Nickbrown17: cool, thanks
    Oct 5, 2015 2:24 PM - Mike Kelly: gregs wade hinge 1
Oct 5, 2015 2:25 PM - Nickbrown17: 30% infill should be good with ABS, or do I need to go higher?
Oct 5, 2015 2:25 PM - Mike Kelly: should be good since it's a pretty thin wall part
Oct 5, 2015 2:27 PM - Nickbrown17: cool, thanks. I thought I'd seen that somewhere but couldn't find it, I've saved the page for later
Oct 5, 2015 2:51 PM - krouton3: my printer is looking like a boss with 2 spools of filiment mounted on top :p
    Oct 5, 2015 2:52 PM - Mike Kelly: lol
    Oct 5, 2015 2:56 PM - jbigler1986: Fucking bullshit
    Oct 5, 2015 2:56 PM - Mike Kelly: ?
Oct 5, 2015 2:57 PM - jbigler1986: Final hearing is scheduled for January 11th. Now I have to have my attorney file to get is expedited BC I will be damned if I go through the holidays without having my kids
    Oct 5, 2015 2:57 PM - Mike Kelly: :(
    Oct 5, 2015 2:57 PM - Mike Kelly: ouch
Oct 5, 2015 2:58 PM - jbigler1986: I want nothing but to have my kids. Such bullshit. Ugh
    Oct 5, 2015 4:14 PM - jbigler1986: Damn thermistor
    Oct 5, 2015 4:15 PM - Mike Glass: bo
Oct 5, 2015 4:15 PM - Mike Glass: put duct tape on it
Oct 5, 2015 4:16 PM - jbigler1986: Min temp and wiring looks fine
Oct 5, 2015 4:17 PM - Mike Glass: I always tap on mine to see if it seated good
Oct 5, 2015 4:18 PM - jbigler1986: Going to try a different thermistor. If it doesn't work gonna be so tempting to rip it out and use it on the cnc
Oct 5, 2015 4:18 PM - Mike Glass: the thermistor on the cnc?
    Oct 5, 2015 4:19 PM - jbigler1986: Ramps
    Oct 5, 2015 4:19 PM - Mike Glass: oh..lol
Oct 5, 2015 4:19 PM - Mike Glass: you dont have extra?
    Oct 5, 2015 4:19 PM - jbigler1986: Nope
Oct 5, 2015 4:20 PM - Mike Glass: tisk tisk.
    Oct 5, 2015 4:20 PM - jbigler1986: The only thing I don't have extras of
Oct 5, 2015 4:22 PM - Mike Glass: yea im sure your a regular parts house like me..lol
Oct 5, 2015 4:22 PM - Mike Glass: bout the only thing I dont have on hand is a bed and z smooth rods.

Oct 5, 2015 4:23 PM - jbigler1986: If new thermistor doesn't work pretty sure 2nd extruder thermistor pins are toast
Oct 5, 2015 4:23 PM - Mike Glass: oh pins on your connector?
    Oct 5, 2015 4:23 PM - jbigler1986: The board
Oct 5, 2015 4:24 PM - jbigler1986: Going to run the new one direct to the board
Oct 5, 2015 4:25 PM - jbigler1986: If it doesn't work its going on the cnc
    Oct 5, 2015 5:04 PM - jbigler1986: New thermistor worked
    Oct 5, 2015 5:21 PM - daniel871: Anyone using Windows 10?
Oct 5, 2015 5:21 PM - daniel871: I can't seem to get Simplify3D past the login screen and S3D Support is oddly being of no help at all right now about it.
Oct 5, 2015 5:22 PM - daniel871: If "Did you try running it as Administrator?" is suggested one more time by the support people there I'm going to scream in impotent rage.
Oct 5, 2015 5:34 PM - jbigler1986: Well did you try to run it as admin?
Oct 5, 2015 5:36 PM - Mike Glass: I would run it as an admin
    Oct 5, 2015 5:36 PM - jbigler1986: Well time to download a Russian version
    Oct 5, 2015 6:01 PM - danzca6: lol...mike just messaged you...you weren't on a second ago
    Oct 5, 2015 6:02 PM - danzca6: MK that is
Oct 5, 2015 6:05 PM - Mike Glass: oh he was on something
Oct 5, 2015 6:06 PM - danzca6: MG, saw your mustang glass etching over the weekend...man that thing is nice
Oct 5, 2015 6:06 PM - danzca6: did you ever figure out the proportion issue on that?
Oct 5, 2015 6:08 PM - Mike Glass: no it changes with bottle size
Oct 5, 2015 6:09 PM - Mike Glass: havent found the right formula, but in the preview it will tell you the size so I just adjust till I hit that size so pretty easy.
Oct 5, 2015 6:09 PM - Mike Glass: now im just working on getting it speeded up.
Oct 5, 2015 6:11 PM - danzca6: The way you are going, that thing will start paying you in 6 months. Lots of opportunity with special events and such
Oct 5, 2015 6:13 PM - Mike Glass: yea hopefully better then my signs..lol
Oct 5, 2015 6:14 PM - Mike Glass: I need to license some logos for colleges in the state also, but kinda spendy.
Oct 5, 2015 6:16 PM - danzca6: oh, yeah...I guess you just can't pull that stuff off of Google Images and start selling
Oct 5, 2015 6:17 PM - Mike Glass: you could but it may bite you eventually.
Oct 5, 2015 6:45 PM - jbigler1986: So my cheap palm router fit. Need a different one though as it could be longer
Oct 5, 2015 6:46 PM - jbigler1986: Hand cut a piece. Used the knobs on the outside of the nema 23s. Lol

    Oct 5, 2015 9:37 PM - Mattchu: home
Oct 5, 2015 9:39 PM - Mattchu: MK still around?
Oct 5, 2015 9:53 PM - NFOsec: is MK ever around?
Oct 5, 2015 9:53 PM - NFOsec: what happened with aliexpress?
Oct 5, 2015 10:00 PM - Mattchu: no idea! I've got that link though!
    Oct 5, 2015 10:00 PM - Mattchu: lemme see!
    Oct 5, 2015 10:01 PM - Mattchu: nothing yet
Oct 5, 2015 10:03 PM - Mattchu: so NFO, you've got one of those lasers yes?
Oct 5, 2015 10:03 PM - Mattchu: he cheapy things?
    Oct 5, 2015 10:03 PM - Mattchu: the even
Oct 5, 2015 10:04 PM - NFOsec: Mattchu: yes, in fact I think I'm the one that affected MG to pursue one.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:04 PM - NFOsec: I've had one for a while.
Oct 5, 2015 10:05 PM - NFOsec: I wouldn't call it "cheap", but some thing could always be manufacturered a little better.
Oct 5, 2015 10:05 PM - Mattchu: inexpensively priced then.
Oct 5, 2015 10:05 PM - NFOsec: compared to a boss, epilog, trotec, etc. sure.
Oct 5, 2015 10:06 PM - Mattchu: can you cut carbon fiber on it?
Oct 5, 2015 10:06 PM - NFOsec: sometimes you have to compromise on specific things, but overall they're minimal if you're willing to look past them.
Oct 5, 2015 10:06 PM - Mattchu: what did you have to compromise on? I know cutting metal is flat out.
Oct 5, 2015 10:07 PM - NFOsec: to be honest, I haven't tried carbon fiber cuts, but I think on the 50w+ you have a better chance compared to a 40w which definitely won't.
Oct 5, 2015 10:08 PM - NFOsec: well, more expensive units include: 1) auto focus capabilities, 2) auto-z movement (bed electronically raised/lowered vs. manually), 3) not water chilled, 4) sometimes more powerful cpm exhaust fans.
Oct 5, 2015 10:09 PM - NFOsec: however, to me, those are minimal.
Oct 5, 2015 10:09 PM - NFOsec: also, more expensive units usually have honeycomb tables (here I had to get a grid), also 0,0 ruler square so you have left margin/top margin ruled for precise part placement on a grid.
Oct 5, 2015 10:10 PM - NFOsec: above and beyond that, it was easy to look past it. more expensive models have from $1200 up to $9000 in laser tube/optics replacements whereas this one is about $150-250 depending on where you source it.
Oct 5, 2015 10:11 PM - Mattchu: I saw the red ones that had the auto movement option...what's the benefit of that on a machine that's 2 axis?
Oct 5, 2015 10:11 PM - NFOsec: I would LOVE to have a nice metal rule edge for left/top like the Epilog, just haven't put the time into finding out the proper tolerances yet.
Oct 5, 2015 10:11 PM - Mattchu: and how hard ot focus the laser?
    Oct 5, 2015 10:11 PM - NFOsec: focus. auto-bed movement is typically meaning it supports auto-focus w/probe.
Oct 5, 2015 10:12 PM - NFOsec: otherwise it's just an electronic approach to raising the bed, but ultimately more expensive models and electronically controlled ones have bed leveling -- if your manual bed isn't level, cuts will not be consistent.
Oct 5, 2015 10:13 PM - Mattchu: got ya...for materials that are not flat then I presume?
Oct 5, 2015 10:14 PM - NFOsec: focusing the laser is really easy. you do a test to pulse a piece of wood that is placed on an incline (like a ramp), using a piece of acrylic or wood that was provided by the manufacturer, you set the base distance between the part and the laser head. THEN, you pulse once. move the head over a little, lower (or raise) the bed slightly, pulse again, and continue to do it until you've found the smallest pin hole/laser spot made.
Oct 5, 2015 10:14 PM - NFOsec: THAT would be your focus.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:15 PM - Mattchu: aaaah okay.
Oct 5, 2015 10:15 PM - NFOsec: no, materials that are not flat, you set the focus to the loweste part (such as curved parts), but if you're cutting something not flat, multi-passes might be required in areas where the laser is out of focus.
Oct 5, 2015 10:15 PM - NFOsec: boss and machines > $45k have variance auto-focus capabilities, but it's not really worthy it.
Oct 5, 2015 10:16 PM - NFOsec: conceptually, it's so simple, not much more different than CNC routing tables where you set your bit at the top of the part (typically separated by a piece of paper in tolerance) before starting.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - Mattchu: mmm paper trick. set it .003-.004 Z height :p
Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: why do you ask? evaluating wasting someone else's money?
    Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - Mattchu: no no
Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: yeah, same concept.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - Mattchu: mostly mine
Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - Mattchu: but time is an issue.
Oct 5, 2015 10:17 PM - NFOsec: what do you mean?
Oct 5, 2015 10:18 PM - Mattchu: so I want to know what I'd hate and what I'd love.
Oct 5, 2015 10:18 PM - Mattchu: and how much fiddling I'd have to do.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:18 PM - NFOsec: Ah, gotcha.
Oct 5, 2015 10:18 PM - Mattchu: like you said, a compromise...and my compromise is "how much time fiddling versus how much money I'm spending"
Oct 5, 2015 10:18 PM - NFOsec: really, MG just got his a week ago, or should I say started working on his a week ago, and you've seen what he's accomplished.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:18 PM - Mattchu: yeah, that's why I'm interested.
Oct 5, 2015 10:19 PM - NFOsec: well, same here, I'd rather not dink around with major efforts. Truthfully, the most time I had ever spent on anything with this whole thing was getting the bed leveled.
Oct 5, 2015 10:19 PM - Mattchu: the Carbon Fiber idea struck me, as I see UCSD students buying tons of it right now for all sorts of projects (mainly for drones)
Oct 5, 2015 10:20 PM - NFOsec: took me about 60 minutes because I didn't have the propper strategy/knowledge of how it was best done. Once done, it's been a 5 second leveling effort before every job.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:20 PM - Mattchu: test indicator?
Oct 5, 2015 10:20 PM - NFOsec: well, yeah, drones are probably the #1 reason for carbon fiber these days.
Oct 5, 2015 10:21 PM - NFOsec: the table legs are threaded rods, with a belt that covers all of them at once. if you turn a knob, they all move. you wouled hve to release the belt, balance each leg until the table is proper, then tighten the belt. that's what I was referring to.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:21 PM - Mattchu: aaaah
Oct 5, 2015 10:21 PM - Mattchu: so how would you do that leveling fast then?
Oct 5, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: carbon fiber rods, sheets, and other formats are pretty popular in the build world for aircraft too...
Oct 5, 2015 10:22 PM - Mattchu: dang right, NFO...you hsould go grab some tomorrow ;)
Oct 5, 2015 10:22 PM - NFOsec: once you hvae it there, it's usually not that often it would fall out of level, just need to slowly raise/lower bed for variances in parts. however, most of mine are varied by maybe 1/4 or 1/8 inch so not moved often.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:23 PM - NFOsec: I'll look, I have a few sources.
Oct 5, 2015 10:23 PM - Mattchu: ...you make it sound like 1/8" is small...in my world like's like tetonic plates shift lmao
Oct 5, 2015 10:24 PM - NFOsec: I have 2 quads (the latest is the DJI Phantom 3 Professional, and was going to laser-cut/3D Print an FA-18 Hornet or Supre Hornet plane to fly. Carbon would be great.
Oct 5, 2015 10:24 PM - Mattchu: I'd love to make a drone...we joke about having FPV races at work...a true death race where the machines are running and part of the track
Oct 5, 2015 10:24 PM - NFOsec: well, for turning a knob on a table, 1/16-1/8" is like nothing. These threads are huge, so I doubt you'd get 1/16-1/32/1/64" precision.
Oct 5, 2015 10:25 PM - NFOsec: We used to "dog fight" our draganflyer trainers (smaller quad versions with a usb camera) If they crashed, it was $99 for a new one, or simply a $10-20 repair.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:26 PM - Mattchu: that's not awful.
Oct 5, 2015 10:26 PM - NFOsec: drones are fun. the DJI Phantom 3 Pro is definitely a significant improvement over any I've ever flown in the past 15 years.
Oct 5, 2015 10:26 PM - NFOsec: no. sort of called ourselves the filthy poor redneck flier's club.
Oct 5, 2015 10:26 PM - Mattchu: too many hobbies hahaha.
Oct 5, 2015 10:27 PM - NFOsec: making the drones today are absolutely a cinch.
Oct 5, 2015 10:27 PM - Mattchu: at the maker faire we had the weedwacker aerosquadron
Oct 5, 2015 10:27 PM - NFOsec: and parts to incorporate auto-pilot follow me, GPS, etc. is even easier.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:27 PM - NFOsec: wow.
Oct 5, 2015 10:27 PM - Mattchu: lol I was laughing my butt off
Oct 5, 2015 10:27 PM - Mattchu: and for reals that stuff sounds rad...
Oct 5, 2015 10:28 PM - NFOsec: I think http://www.weedwackers.org would be the source of truth.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:28 PM - Mattchu: that's them
Oct 5, 2015 10:29 PM - NFOsec: It all is. for this FA-18 I want to build it out using retractable wheels, bomb bay doors, and possibly use a RC model jet engine vs. a ducted jet fan (differrence is $400 to $20)
Oct 5, 2015 10:29 PM - NFOsec: yeah, cool org.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:30 PM - NFOsec: I just hate snob clubs.
Oct 5, 2015 10:30 PM - NFOsec: people who think their flying is off the charts, etc. People should teach others, that's how the world improves.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:30 PM - Mattchu: *nod nod*
Oct 5, 2015 10:31 PM - Mattchu: and damn @ that price...but that sounds rad!
Oct 5, 2015 10:32 PM - NFOsec: Well, they're usually closer to $750, but I've found if you look hard enough, there are plenty of cheap options out there. Just not Chinese. :)
    Oct 5, 2015 10:33 PM - Mattchu: yeah...no thanks on chinese engines
    Oct 5, 2015 10:33 PM - Mattchu: how about a turbine?
Oct 5, 2015 10:33 PM - NFOsec: yeah, or ducted fans which is basically building the casing and putting a pusher-prop (3-prop) inside it.
Oct 5, 2015 10:33 PM - Mattchu: they're wicked rad, and once started are super fuel efficient (or at least, a well put together one would be).
Oct 5, 2015 10:34 PM - NFOsec: LOL. You know of the COX .049 or .051 engines -- the ones that use glow fuel and throttling is done by choking the exhaust?
Oct 5, 2015 10:35 PM - NFOsec: I put a 4 oz gas tank in a FanTrainer (ducted prop) plane, hand-launched it, and somewhere along the line I lost it. It ran for approximately 40 minutes constant flight at 60-70mph.
Oct 5, 2015 10:35 PM - NFOsec: fortunately it was level flight, but scared me to think what could have happened.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:35 PM - Mattchu: lmao
Oct 5, 2015 10:35 PM - NFOsec: thank God for the country and farms.
Oct 5, 2015 10:36 PM - Mattchu: take it you found it then.
Oct 5, 2015 10:36 PM - NFOsec: we found it about 5 miles away, just cranking out the fuel.
Oct 5, 2015 10:36 PM - NFOsec: nice that a farm field freshly plowed doesn't allow for belly landings.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:37 PM - Mattchu: hahaha
Oct 5, 2015 10:37 PM - NFOsec: the plane was designed to not have wheels and belly land, just can't bounce on the land or it'll glide away on you if the engine was killed.
Oct 5, 2015 10:37 PM - NFOsec: I've seen guys fly 1/8 scale RC planes and literally smash them because they were showing off.

Oct 5, 2015 10:38 PM - NFOsec: gliders (6-8' wiongspans) disappear because they turned away to brag about how high theirs was. Thermo signals were no longer communicating and they had no idea where it was.
Oct 5, 2015 10:39 PM - NFOsec: if you have time sometime you should watch this video of how high my quad goes.. fast foward towadrs the end and see what happened. idiot.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:39 PM - Mattchu: O_O
    Oct 5, 2015 10:39 PM - Mattchu: lets see!
    Oct 5, 2015 10:40 PM - NFOsec:
Oct 5, 2015 10:41 PM - NFOsec: the pictures/video are amazing no doubt.
Oct 5, 2015 10:41 PM - NFOsec: you're looking at 50-60 story buildings in the area too.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:43 PM - NFOsec: damn eh?
Oct 5, 2015 10:44 PM - Mattchu: watching the video
Oct 5, 2015 10:44 PM - Mattchu: yeah just read the post, it's Dalian...this is one of the ghost cities :O
Oct 5, 2015 10:44 PM - Mattchu: see all the construction? virtually no one lives there =-O
    Oct 5, 2015 10:44 PM - NFOsec: yeah.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:44 PM - NFOsec: it's quite common from what I hear.
Oct 5, 2015 10:45 PM - NFOsec: nonetheless, this is what a $1259 drone would get you.
Oct 5, 2015 10:45 PM - Mattchu: holy crap this is high O_O
Oct 5, 2015 10:46 PM - Mattchu: I'm only like 3 minutes in, and I'm hyperventilating at the height >_<
Oct 5, 2015 10:47 PM - NFOsec: go to 7:30 on the video.
Oct 5, 2015 10:48 PM - NFOsec: start from there.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:49 PM - NFOsec: somethijng like 400m up.
Oct 5, 2015 10:49 PM - NFOsec: has special software built into firmware that if you flight near restricted areas or into them, it will auto-land the drone.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:50 PM - Mattchu: OUCH >_<
    Oct 5, 2015 10:50 PM - Mattchu: sadness...
Oct 5, 2015 10:50 PM - NFOsec: no kidding. The Gimbal alone for the camera probably cost $350.
Oct 5, 2015 10:50 PM - NFOsec: but the highest one I've seen to date is:
Oct 5, 2015 10:51 PM - NFOsec: but, cool stuff nonetheless.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:53 PM - Mattchu: indeed
Oct 5, 2015 10:53 PM - Mattchu: at comic con this year, they officially said "NO Drones. Period"
Oct 5, 2015 10:54 PM - Mattchu: the number of people I saw carrying net guns was amazing lol
Oct 5, 2015 10:54 PM - Mattchu: "no drones. we're not responsible for your drones if you bring them"
Oct 5, 2015 10:55 PM - Mattchu: dude, that ireland thing is rad O_O
    Oct 5, 2015 10:56 PM - NFOsec: yeah. I know.
Oct 5, 2015 10:56 PM - NFOsec: rctoys.com has the balloon blimp you can remote control and drop business cards, they didn't complain about those, a simple camera could have been used on them too.
    Oct 5, 2015 10:57 PM - NFOsec: helium-filled of course.
Oct 5, 2015 10:59 PM - Mattchu: I think that might have been on the barest minimums...after all the flying sharks and tiny little mosquitos crashing into folks last year, they didn't want to take any chances. In addition, the convention center is less than a mile from the airport, and the marina is on the other side...they did not want the port authority knocking on their door. lol
    Oct 5, 2015 10:59 PM - NFOsec: lol.
Oct 5, 2015 11:00 PM - NFOsec: yeah, FAA/state regulations now prohibit 5 miles around airports, I think 2 for type B (municipal) and can't fly higher than 400 feet
Oct 5, 2015 11:00 PM - NFOsec: has to be line of sight, etc. but I know I'd never see a drone up there.
Oct 5, 2015 11:01 PM - Mattchu: oh yeah, those suckers would be crashing everywhere during con lmao
Oct 5, 2015 11:01 PM - NFOsec: they have cool underbelly lights to blink/let you know where they are though.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:01 PM - NFOsec: yeah.
Oct 5, 2015 11:01 PM - NFOsec: not to mention, the odds of multiple frequency clashes.
Oct 5, 2015 11:02 PM - Mattchu: oh most deifnitely.
Oct 5, 2015 11:04 PM - NFOsec: what I did was 3D print rotor blades for the DJI so I could teach my wife to fly.
Oct 5, 2015 11:05 PM - NFOsec: much of the hovering/auto-leveling, return to home stuff saves grace in the event of a freak out, at least no hard landings or small bumps into fences/bushes/trees or the ground will rip a rotor.
Oct 5, 2015 11:05 PM - NFOsec: cheapest ones on the mnarket were $15, I did probably for a lot less (assuming the 6 hours to print the 4) AND in my custom colors of black and gold.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:10 PM - Mattchu: ooooooh
Oct 5, 2015 11:10 PM - Mattchu: and good to know!
    Oct 5, 2015 11:12 PM - Mattchu: brb
    Oct 5, 2015 11:13 PM - NFOsec: no problem.
Oct 5, 2015 11:14 PM - NFOsec: just reading up, preparing for a 6 hour interview across 5 panels of people in 6 hours.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:30 PM - Mattchu: damn O_O
Oct 5, 2015 11:30 PM - Mattchu: interview for what?
Oct 5, 2015 11:31 PM - NFOsec: oh, a major company in my area was looking for a manager of security program, thought I'd look into it, but turns out there are 5 separate panel meetings with directors or greater for each, including international locations for one.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:32 PM - Mattchu: sounds like a blast!
Oct 5, 2015 11:32 PM - NFOsec: didn't think about it at first, but the opportunity is great considering the organization.
Oct 5, 2015 11:32 PM - Mattchu: and an interesting opportunity.
Oct 5, 2015 11:32 PM - NFOsec: yeah, but man, why do they have to machine-gun kelly people?
Oct 5, 2015 11:32 PM - NFOsec: maybe I can talk about the weather for 6 hours.
Oct 5, 2015 11:33 PM - NFOsec: I think i'm ready, lord knows I'm extremely qualified, just due process.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:33 PM - NFOsec: if it doesn't fly, I wouldn't cry -- got a great job already.
Oct 5, 2015 11:36 PM - Mattchu: see how well you can handle it lol. Bring some fascinating material. or ask them how many people have tried to crack them since you applied? if they don't know, it's because you're not there working now to keep them secured.
Oct 5, 2015 11:37 PM - NFOsec: lol. maybe I should look at what reconnaisance I can offer them before I get there.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:37 PM - NFOsec: :)
Oct 5, 2015 11:37 PM - NFOsec: well, time to hit the sack and rest. catchya later Matt.
Oct 5, 2015 11:38 PM - Mattchu: you too nfo, sleep well and good luck, we're all counting on you.
    Oct 5, 2015 11:40 PM - NFOsec: thanks. :) ciao.,
    Oct 6, 2015 4:46 AM - jbigler1986: morning
Oct 6, 2015 5:30 AM - JeffTheMess: good morning roboneers
    Oct 6, 2015 5:38 AM - jbigler1986: morning Jeff
Oct 6, 2015 5:48 AM - JeffTheMess: how it going JB, are you fully running your dual now?
Oct 6, 2015 5:51 AM - jbigler1986: no. need to re wire the 2nd extruder heater. the connector I used is shit
    Oct 6, 2015 5:53 AM - JeffTheMess: sucks
    Oct 6, 2015 5:54 AM - jbigler1986: easy fix really
    Oct 6, 2015 6:36 AM - Bill Monroe: morning
    Oct 6, 2015 6:37 AM - JeffTheMess: Bill
    Oct 6, 2015 6:37 AM - Bill Monroe: jeff
Oct 6, 2015 6:39 AM - JeffTheMess: Bill, do you name the name of the glider planes that are rubber band powered?
Oct 6, 2015 6:40 AM - Bill Monroe: uhhh well, if they're powered theyre not really gliders
    Oct 6, 2015 6:40 AM - jbigler1986: morning Bill
    Oct 6, 2015 6:41 AM - Bill Monroe: jb
Oct 6, 2015 6:41 AM - JeffTheMess: well if you think about it; it becomes a glider once the prop stops
    Oct 6, 2015 6:41 AM - jbigler1986: how are you doing
    Oct 6, 2015 6:42 AM - Bill Monroe: true
Oct 6, 2015 6:43 AM - Bill Monroe: im ok.. had to drive into palm springs yesterday to buy a new laptop.. killed a day.
Oct 6, 2015 6:43 AM - JeffTheMess: do you know the name :) my daughter broke hers and wants another
Oct 6, 2015 6:44 AM - Bill Monroe: there' lots of balsa kits and an toy planes that hve rubber power..
Oct 6, 2015 6:44 AM - Bill Monroe: ah.. little bag of parts type of thing?
    Oct 6, 2015 6:44 AM - JeffTheMess: yup
    Oct 6, 2015 6:45 AM - Bill Monroe: hmm
Oct 6, 2015 6:45 AM - JeffTheMess: i think my robo can handle making one
Oct 6, 2015 6:46 AM - JeffTheMess: if i could find one online
Oct 6, 2015 6:46 AM - Bill Monroe: this is the best one I ever had, dont know if they're still available:
Oct 6, 2015 6:47 AM - Bill Monroe: i made several stabs at 3D printing one.. the best ones were thin frames for wings covered with saran wrap
Oct 6, 2015 6:48 AM - jbigler1986: well now you can make them with the cnc
Oct 6, 2015 6:49 AM - Bill Monroe: heh i'm kinda done with rubber power... at least until my grandson gets a little older
Oct 6, 2015 6:49 AM - JeffTheMess: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31944 i wantedto mod this but my skills in editing stl files are little
Oct 6, 2015 6:49 AM - jbigler1986: pretty sure i am going rip out the ramps from the robo and use it on my cnc. except with different drivers
    Oct 6, 2015 6:49 AM - JeffTheMess:
Oct 6, 2015 6:49 AM - jbigler1986: robo needs rewired at the board anyways
    Oct 6, 2015 6:50 AM - jbigler1986: it's a rats nest under there

Oct 6, 2015 6:53 AM - Bill Monroe: im not happy with the arduino firmwares for CNC.. just too simple
Oct 6, 2015 6:53 AM - Bill Monroe: my son used it on his engraver though.. but that's not much of a requirement
Oct 6, 2015 6:53 AM - jbigler1986: well i like to make simple things not simple
Oct 6, 2015 6:54 AM - JeffTheMess: really? i figured the arduino could handle it
Oct 6, 2015 6:54 AM - jbigler1986: arduino uno is better than ramps
Oct 6, 2015 6:55 AM - Bill Monroe: if you've never used CNC subtractive mfg.. arduino is magic :)
Oct 6, 2015 6:55 AM - jbigler1986: ramps only goes up to 20v without modifications. uno can accept 36 i believe
Oct 6, 2015 6:56 AM - Bill Monroe: my machine runs 80V servos..
Oct 6, 2015 6:57 AM - jbigler1986: plan on milling steel? holy hell
    Oct 6, 2015 6:57 AM - Bill Monroe: probably could :)
    Oct 6, 2015 6:58 AM - JeffTheMess: beast mode
Oct 6, 2015 6:59 AM - Bill Monroe: you start milling Cherry and Mable, the lil toy steppers cry uncle
Oct 6, 2015 6:59 AM - Bill Monroe: err maple
    Oct 6, 2015 7:01 AM - jbigler1986: mine has nema 23's with ballscrews. It's not to shabby
Oct 6, 2015 7:02 AM - Bill Monroe: this one is going to me routing handwriting into old cedar and pine boards filled with knots... needed some xtra mojo
    Oct 6, 2015 7:02 AM - Bill Monroe: be
Oct 6, 2015 7:04 AM - Bill Monroe: next one will basically be the same but big enough to do entry doors
    Oct 6, 2015 7:04 AM - jbigler1986: got the room for it?
Oct 6, 2015 7:05 AM - Bill Monroe: yup got the plans for the new building almost ready for check
Oct 6, 2015 7:08 AM - jbigler1986: i should have mine up and running tonight.
    Oct 6, 2015 7:08 AM - jbigler1986: atleast moving anyways
    Oct 6, 2015 7:32 AM - Mike Kelly: morning
    Oct 6, 2015 7:35 AM - jbigler1986: morning
    Oct 6, 2015 7:35 AM - JeffTheMess: hey mike
Oct 6, 2015 7:37 AM - Mike Kelly: how are things
Oct 6, 2015 7:37 AM - jbigler1986: good. the robo is going to get it's guts ripped out tonight
    Oct 6, 2015 7:38 AM - jbigler1986: you?
    Oct 6, 2015 7:38 AM - JeffTheMess: (you animal!)
Oct 6, 2015 7:39 AM - Mike Kelly: oh, good
Oct 6, 2015 7:40 AM - Mike Kelly: i ran out of red abs yesterday so i guess all my cable chains are gonna be black
    Oct 6, 2015 7:40 AM - jbigler1986: that stinks
    Oct 6, 2015 7:40 AM - jbigler1986: how is the cnc?
Oct 6, 2015 7:40 AM - Mike Kelly: waiting on cable chains :)
    Oct 6, 2015 7:41 AM - jbigler1986: well then
Oct 6, 2015 7:41 AM - Mike Kelly: i got my collet and bits so i'm gonna return the 1/4" shank one i got from lowes and buy a piece of angle aluminum for the chain to ride on
Oct 6, 2015 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: i think tonight i'll have enough chain
Oct 6, 2015 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: soooo many pieces
Oct 6, 2015 7:42 AM - jbigler1986: nice. I will literally just have to cut off the connector on the stepper cables and plug them into the ramps and that should be it really
    Oct 6, 2015 7:42 AM - Mike Kelly: awesome
Oct 6, 2015 7:43 AM - Mike Kelly: still envious of your find
Oct 6, 2015 7:43 AM - jbigler1986: robo needed to get rewired at the board anyways so I figured why not
    Oct 6, 2015 7:43 AM - Mike Kelly: right
Oct 6, 2015 7:43 AM - jbigler1986: just hope 12v is enough to power the steppers.
Oct 6, 2015 7:44 AM - jbigler1986: If not i will have to wait for the other parts to arrive
Oct 6, 2015 7:44 AM - Mike Kelly: might be a little low
    Oct 6, 2015 7:44 AM - jbigler1986: maybe. Guess I won't know until I try
Oct 6, 2015 7:44 AM - Mike Kelly: but it'll at least get you moving
Oct 6, 2015 7:45 AM - jbigler1986: my cheap palm router fit perfect on the clamp
Oct 6, 2015 7:45 AM - Mike Kelly: sweet deal
Oct 6, 2015 7:45 AM - Mike Kelly: did you try plugging the spindle into 110?
Oct 6, 2015 7:46 AM - daniel871: Well, got the heated bed fixed last night, now to redo some part slices and get back to printing.
    Oct 6, 2015 7:46 AM - jbigler1986: i didn't. It needs AC
Oct 6, 2015 7:46 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah what do you think comes out of your wall :)
    Oct 6, 2015 7:46 AM - jbigler1986: aliens
    Oct 6, 2015 7:46 AM - daniel871: :p
Oct 6, 2015 7:46 AM - Mike Kelly: nice daniel, what was wrong
Oct 6, 2015 7:47 AM - jbigler1986: Scary thought of just plugging that bad boy straight into an outlet
Oct 6, 2015 7:47 AM - daniel871: Firmware issue. The Rambo may be Arduino Mega "compatible" but it doesn't use the same pin callouts.
Oct 6, 2015 7:47 AM - JeffTheMess: everybody going cnc
    Oct 6, 2015 7:47 AM - jbigler1986: well with a power cord of course
Oct 6, 2015 7:48 AM - daniel871: Heated bed and 2nd Nozzle Heater thermistor plugins are backwards from how you'd do it for the Mega.
Oct 6, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i'm crazy like that
Oct 6, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: that's what aligator clips are for :)
Oct 6, 2015 7:48 AM - Mike Kelly: gotcha daniel
Oct 6, 2015 7:49 AM - jbigler1986: that spindle is a beast though. You think full power all of the time would burn the motor quick?
Oct 6, 2015 7:49 AM - daniel871: Now to just get Simplify3D working again. Going to try getting by with Slic3r in the meantime.
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - Mike Kelly: as an impromptu VFD you could use a dimmer switch
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - jbigler1986: Also the spindle has a 4 pin connector just like the steppers too
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - Mike Kelly: or find a cheap variac
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - Mike Kelly: with the dimmer you wouldn't get full torque but you'd get some control
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - jbigler1986: So would be fun figuring out with 2 of the 4 to use
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - Mike Kelly: do you have a datasheet for the spindle?
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - Mike Kelly: probably says on there
Oct 6, 2015 7:50 AM - jbigler1986: may be able to find one
Oct 6, 2015 7:51 AM - Mike Kelly: what was the model number again
    Oct 6, 2015 7:51 AM - jbigler1986: gdz 65 800
    Oct 6, 2015 7:52 AM - daniel871: http://www.pmdx.com/PMDX-407
    Oct 6, 2015 7:52 AM - donhuevo: morning
    Oct 6, 2015 7:52 AM - daniel871: Then this: http://www.pmdx.com/PMDX-422
    Oct 6, 2015 7:53 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG]
    Oct 6, 2015 7:53 AM - jbigler1986: morning don
Oct 6, 2015 7:53 AM - daniel871: Those links are to some cheap CNC controller boards.
Oct 6, 2015 7:54 AM - daniel871: If you didn't click expecting the Goatman or something.
    Oct 6, 2015 7:54 AM - Mike Kelly: https://www.sinjoe.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=83&product_id=191 118 isn't too bad
    Oct 6, 2015 7:55 AM - jbigler1986: only .75KW
    Oct 6, 2015 7:55 AM - jbigler1986: need 1.5
    Oct 6, 2015 7:56 AM - jbigler1986: 3kw one on amazon was like 218
Oct 6, 2015 7:56 AM - Mike Kelly: https://www.sinjoe.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=172 this was where they recommended it
Oct 6, 2015 7:56 AM - Mike Kelly: .75 is close enough, you just lose a fraction off the high end
    Oct 6, 2015 7:57 AM - jbigler1986: that one is 220 as well. mine is 110
    Oct 6, 2015 7:57 AM - Mike Kelly: granted that's for 220
Oct 6, 2015 7:58 AM - jbigler1986: get ghetto with it and use a dimmer switch. wonder is a fan controller would work
Oct 6, 2015 8:11 AM - Mike Kelly: i still need to go frankenstein on my router and take the speed control part off and remote mount it
Oct 6, 2015 8:13 AM - Mike Kelly: JB looking at the 220v diagram i'd say 1 and 2 are your AC inputs then 4 is ground
    Oct 6, 2015 8:13 AM - Mike Kelly: maybe 2 and 3
    Oct 6, 2015 8:17 AM - jbigler1986: hmmm
Oct 6, 2015 8:18 AM - Mike Kelly: one of them won't be connected to a coil
Oct 6, 2015 8:18 AM - Mike Kelly: you could measure the resistance across the terminals
Oct 6, 2015 8:19 AM - jbigler1986: or i could save the headache and just use my router until i get the controller
    Oct 6, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Kelly: fair enough :)

    Oct 6, 2015 8:19 AM - donhuevo: that pic looks like 3phase
    Oct 6, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah don that's the 220v 3-ph wiring diagram
    Oct 6, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Kelly: he has 110v single
Oct 6, 2015 8:19 AM - Mike Kelly: so 1 of the pins is likely not connected to any coil
    Oct 6, 2015 8:20 AM - jbigler1986: i concur
Oct 6, 2015 8:20 AM - donhuevo: he needs his own 3 phase transformer
Oct 6, 2015 8:20 AM - Mike Kelly: i just like knowing things work
Oct 6, 2015 8:21 AM - jim3Dbot: Definitely, don't put 220vac on motor, will be fried, 3 phase inputs to match, only with an inverter..
    Oct 6, 2015 8:21 AM - Mike Kelly: it's a 110v motor
    Oct 6, 2015 8:22 AM - jbigler1986: another reason I need a damn multimeter
Oct 6, 2015 8:22 AM - jim3Dbot: OK, 3 phase motor to match with an inverter..
Oct 6, 2015 8:22 AM - Mike Kelly: yes, yes you do
Oct 6, 2015 8:23 AM - donhuevo: per mk, you should have a multimeter on every end table
    Oct 6, 2015 8:23 AM - Mike Kelly: :)
Oct 6, 2015 8:24 AM - Mike Kelly: and a graph on every software
Oct 6, 2015 8:24 AM - jbigler1986: well i had one. you know that story
    Oct 6, 2015 8:26 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah i understand
    Oct 6, 2015 8:26 AM - jbigler1986: think a dimmer would actually work?
Oct 6, 2015 8:28 AM - donhuevo: they make special variable resistors for ceiling fans which may be a better fit but none of them handle much in the way of amps well. Generally heat up pretty quick
    Oct 6, 2015 8:28 AM - jbigler1986: starting a fire sounds like fun
Oct 6, 2015 8:29 AM - jim3Dbot: OK, U is red or Line 1, V is Yell or line 2, W is blue or line 3....universal for 3 phase induction motors., But motor manufacturers sometimes only provide shells with 3 phase markings & put the same shells on single phase motors...........
    Oct 6, 2015 8:30 AM - jim3Dbot: Tryin' not to confuse...
    Oct 6, 2015 8:31 AM - donhuevo: I was speaking about a 120V single phase spindle too
    Oct 6, 2015 8:31 AM - jbigler1986: controller I will just get in a few weeks
    Oct 6, 2015 8:32 AM - jbigler1986: really don't need it until I want to do alum
Oct 6, 2015 8:32 AM - donhuevo: did you end up buying that from the pawn shop?
    Oct 6, 2015 8:32 AM - donhuevo: and it's 3 phase?
Oct 6, 2015 8:32 AM - jim3Dbot: If you wire a 3 ph motor like that & the power co. is correct, the motor will spin in the expected direction....
    Oct 6, 2015 8:33 AM - jbigler1986: i did buy from the pawn shop
Oct 6, 2015 8:33 AM - jim3Dbot: If not, reverse any two colors
    Oct 6, 2015 8:33 AM - jbigler1986: yeah I just don't want to burn it up
    Oct 6, 2015 8:35 AM - jim3Dbot: 3 phase maybe, maybe not
Oct 6, 2015 8:37 AM - jbigler1986: hey mk. what did you have to do to the ramps for 24v?
Oct 6, 2015 8:37 AM - jim3Dbot: sell expensive spindle, buy new motor?????????????
    Oct 6, 2015 8:38 AM - jbigler1986: anyone want to buy it? :p
Oct 6, 2015 8:38 AM - donhuevo: maybe the pawn shop?
    Oct 6, 2015 8:39 AM - jbigler1986: ha. for like $10 maybe
    Oct 6, 2015 8:40 AM - Mattchu: good morning!
    Oct 6, 2015 8:41 AM - jbigler1986: morning matt
Oct 6, 2015 8:44 AM - daniel871: Love that Marquis Johnson's 1st tip in the "Top Ten Tips for New Owners" thread is "#1 - Delete MatterControl".
    Oct 6, 2015 8:44 AM - jbigler1986: i agree
Oct 6, 2015 8:47 AM - daniel871: Yay, it's just about Noon. Only 5 more hours to go.
Oct 6, 2015 8:47 AM - Mattchu: ooooh I keep forgetting that part hahaha.
Oct 6, 2015 8:48 AM - Mattchu: though I only use it to control manually...
    Oct 6, 2015 8:48 AM - daniel871: I haven't used manual control in forever.
    Oct 6, 2015 8:48 AM - daniel871: Except for tweaking via LCD.
    Oct 6, 2015 8:49 AM - Mike Kelly: jb I decided against 24v, but there's a good post onit
    Oct 6, 2015 8:50 AM - Mike Kelly: http://forums.reprap.org/read.php?219,196602
    Oct 6, 2015 8:52 AM - jbigler1986: i thought you were running 24v?
Oct 6, 2015 8:52 AM - Mike Kelly: i am on the bed
Oct 6, 2015 8:52 AM - Mike Kelly: but not on the ramps
Oct 6, 2015 8:53 AM - daniel871: Ramps basically sends a signal that says "Hey, wake up bitch!" to the bed and it pulls from another supply?
    Oct 6, 2015 8:56 AM - Mike Kelly: triggers a relay
Oct 6, 2015 8:56 AM - jbigler1986: cnc is so much less stuff to wire
Oct 6, 2015 8:57 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah not having an extruder really cuts down a lot
    Oct 6, 2015 8:57 AM - jbigler1986: also endstop are totally needed
    Oct 6, 2015 8:57 AM - jbigler1986: aren't
    Oct 6, 2015 8:59 AM - Mike Kelly: yup
Oct 6, 2015 8:59 AM - Mike Kelly: home is wherever you need it to be
Oct 6, 2015 8:59 AM - Mike Kelly: i think i'm gonna add some on mine though, need to devise a clamp
Oct 6, 2015 8:59 AM - Mattchu: oh, Jbig? how'd you like to wire up this beast? :p and there's still collision detection, probe programming, coolant...
    Oct 6, 2015 8:59 AM - Mattchu:
    Oct 6, 2015 9:00 AM - jbigler1986: should have clarified. desktop cnc
Oct 6, 2015 9:00 AM - Mike Kelly: i can't imagine wiring that thing let alone programming it
Oct 6, 2015 9:00 AM - Mattchu: got to talk to the DMG guys about wiring that up...one of their engineers looked at me like they didn't sleep for a long long time :p
Oct 6, 2015 9:01 AM - jbigler1986: programming those things is another nightmare
Oct 6, 2015 9:01 AM - Mattchu: got ya JBig. yes, lol...no homing, and at best you control the spindle with mach3 (and worst? It's a bosch router).
Oct 6, 2015 9:01 AM - Mike Kelly: that machine just seems overkill, i can't imagine an application besides prototype rocket engine
    Oct 6, 2015 9:02 AM - Mattchu: oooooh...I know a few mike...DMGs been selling them like hotcakes.
Oct 6, 2015 9:03 AM - Mattchu: it takes additive to the next level...imagine being able to stick an existing plastic part into your 3D printer, dialing in a part, and adding onto it?
Oct 6, 2015 9:03 AM - jbigler1986: oh if i had unlimited money I would have some crazy machine
Oct 6, 2015 9:04 AM - Mattchu: I think the DMG costs unlimited money...the letters DMG basically add 500k onto the price :p
Oct 6, 2015 9:04 AM - donhuevo: if I had unlimited money I would build my manned dredging submarine
    Oct 6, 2015 9:05 AM - jbigler1986: oh don
Oct 6, 2015 9:05 AM - Mike Kelly: solidworks is really dumb sometimes "you cannot make drawings from routing assemblies" *suppresses route points* "Ok cool, here's your drawing!" *unsupresses route points*
    Oct 6, 2015 9:05 AM - jbigler1986: sunday = no more probation. oh yeah
    Oct 6, 2015 9:06 AM - Mattchu: lol MK.
    Oct 6, 2015 9:06 AM - jbigler1986: SW is weird sometimes
Oct 6, 2015 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: if i had money for a sub i'd just do drug smuggling
Oct 6, 2015 9:06 AM - Mike Kelly: congrats jb
Oct 6, 2015 9:07 AM - jbigler1986: so last years shit will be 100 percent over
Oct 6, 2015 9:07 AM - jbigler1986: they find those subs all the time though
Oct 6, 2015 9:07 AM - Mattchu: hey MK, for curiousity purposes...type your zip into this
    Oct 6, 2015 9:07 AM - Mattchu: http://find.stonebrewing.com/?beer=Stone Stochasticity Project
Oct 6, 2015 9:08 AM - jbigler1986: i have a location on my way home that sells it. hmmm
Oct 6, 2015 9:09 AM - Mike Kelly: because apparently it's easy to buy surplus subs: http://img01.lachschon.de/images/162773_PNGuin_1.jpg
    Oct 6, 2015 9:09 AM - jbigler1986: which one do suggest matt?
Oct 6, 2015 9:09 AM - jbigler1986: Arrogant Bastard Ale Stone Anniversary Ale Stone Cali-Belgique IPA Stone Delicious IPA Stone Go To IPA Stone IPA Stone Pale Ale 2.0 Stone Ruination IPA Stone Stochasticity Project

    Oct 6, 2015 9:10 AM - jbigler1986: ah
    Oct 6, 2015 9:10 AM - Mike Kelly: gotcha
    Oct 6, 2015 9:10 AM - Mattchu: I don't suggest half those Jbig...but that's I'm not a fan of heavy hopping.
Oct 6, 2015 9:10 AM - Mike Kelly: i should be over near a store tonight, will stop by and see

Oct 6, 2015 9:13 AM - Mike Kelly: sup mg
Oct 6, 2015 9:13 AM - Mike Glass: ohh oatmeal stout is my fav
Oct 6, 2015 9:14 AM - Mattchu: get ready for Sours and Lambics then...those are going to be the next big thing rolling out your guys way; that's what happens when you've got 70+ breweries all making "easy mode IPA" beers :p
Oct 6, 2015 9:14 AM - Mike Kelly: being a double was dangerous though, tasted amazing but if you had 2 on an empty stomach means drunk
Oct 6, 2015 9:14 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah sours are roaring in popularity
    Oct 6, 2015 9:14 AM - Mattchu: morning MG.
Oct 6, 2015 9:14 AM - Mattchu: as they shouldbe MK, they're tasty, refreshing, and insanely difficult to make O_O

    Oct 6, 2015 9:19 AM - Mike Glass: Makes a good breakfast beer...lol
Oct 6, 2015 9:19 AM - Mattchu: the trouble with stone beer...is if you visit san diego, you have to go to both breweries there as they are run by two different brewmasters (and as such, have two different selections of beer).
    Oct 6, 2015 9:20 AM - Mattchu: it's a 40 mile drive between them hahaha.
Oct 6, 2015 9:20 AM - Mike Kelly: so 2 days san diego drive time
    Oct 6, 2015 9:20 AM - Mattchu: pretty much
Oct 6, 2015 9:21 AM - Mattchu: basically a two day visit, minimum
    Oct 6, 2015 9:21 AM - Mike Kelly: "I'm 2 miles away, be there in 40 minutes"
    Oct 6, 2015 9:21 AM - jbigler1986: [IMG] Love this place
Oct 6, 2015 9:21 AM - Mattchu: to see a handful of the breweries (personally I'd go to the newer one at liberty station, cause then you could go to the IDW comics musuem)
Oct 6, 2015 9:21 AM - Mike Kelly: looks like yard house
    Oct 6, 2015 9:22 AM - jbigler1986: that it is
    Oct 6, 2015 9:22 AM - Mattchu: that lools like slaters 50/50
    Oct 6, 2015 9:22 AM - Mike Kelly: yeah it's a great place
    Oct 6, 2015 9:22 AM - jbigler1986: keg beer is the best
Oct 6, 2015 9:22 AM - Mattchu: yard house is good...slaters is good
    Oct 6, 2015 9:23 AM - Mattchu: ...now I want a burger and a beer.

Oct 6, 2015 9:43 AM - jbigler1986: i actually should probably look at what jobs are available out there. I am underpaid
Oct 6, 2015 9:44 AM - Mike Glass: that is cool they have the vacuum built into the cabinet.
Oct 6, 2015 9:44 AM - Mattchu: their website is garbage...but they'll send you the main book free, and send you deals in their emails.
Oct 6, 2015 9:44 AM - Mattchu: right MG? that thing is a smoking set up.

    Oct 6, 2015 9:47 AM - jbigler1986: https://indianapolis.craigslist.org/tls/5233144103.html

Oct 6, 2015 9:53 AM - Mattchu: you could in theory cut your own PEI to fit your bed (if you do this, make sure to do it moving clamps around and have sacrificial material underneath.
Oct 6, 2015 9:55 AM - jbigler1986: haven't had any issue with parts sticking or not sticking
