So what have I learned over the first five days of owning a Robo3d R1+ .......
    1. This printer is so cool! Way Cool!
    2. Asking tech support on the first day (after 3 hours of printing) for help with a jam/clog was not very helpful....
    3. Thanks to Marquis Johnson (aka- Novice Expert on YouTube, Please like and follow him!) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCBGNc_mOP_amZNrNj6lAwHg His video explained how to fix it and I was back up and running in any hour. Lesson learned be very careful changing filament, if it breaks below the hobbolt it's a pain.
    4. Trying to print a 6" cell (ball) with no support does not work (it kept falling over).... Not sure why I thought it would... A few quick changes and a base was added and hours later it was done.

    6. Remember to check all your settings. Screwed up a few.
    7. Large prints are scary.... I have already tried 9hrs. It's like Christmas morning when you get up to fine it all done and looking great.
    8. Making your own mods for your print is so cool.
    8. I'm getting better prints from MatterControl that Cura...... Maybe because I don't know what I'm doing. Going to have to work on that.

In over the past month, or so, I think I'm almost dailed in. I have been doing a lot printing.... 4 rolls of PLA and 1/2 a roll ABS. Failure rate is low... 2 out of 40 prints failed to stick. 1 windows crash, and a couple of human errors, PS. if you pust stop/cancel it will stop, even when you do it by accident....

Large prints are easy, but very smal are fun....

Question: How much more can I squeeze out of my ROBO3dR1+ (Stock)
I'm now using Simplify3d and here is my results, layer height 0.2, PLA, speed 2000mm/min. These are valves clips for a radial engine project. They are only 5.8mm across by 4 mm tall.

If need be you can go down to layers a lot thinner than 0.2 just remember to reduce the print speed as you go.
I hardly ever need to go for detail that fine.

Just finished my first large progect. What a great project! http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5276
Total Print time on my RBOBO3DR1+ was 43.1 hrs for all the part, (some 81 build plates). Failure rate was low, only 4 build plates and that was due to one of multiple parts popping off and recking the build. The Radial Engine if fully functional, all valves/pistons and gears are moving in proper timing.

Materials all PLA Hatchbox, most of it was printed at 0.2 layer and 3600mm/min, very small parts at 1000mm/min
    White - 27.1 hrs
    Silver - 5.3 hrs
    Orange - 10.7 hrs

    Very happy with my ROBO3DR1,

So, I have had my printer for a few months now and things have been GREAT. Since September I have gone though a lot of filament. (5 x 2lbs Rolls) I have also been upgrading a few things.

The first thing was a Full Graphics Card, very nice, now I’m able print independently of my computer.

Next was lighting. I added an 3 foot led string, now very good light top to bottom.

Organization was next, by adding a tool carrier we are up and run cleanly.

After looking around at the Octiprint I found a very cheap version, I mounted an old web camera and now via Skype I can phone in from anywhere and look at my print running.

    What's next.....

WTF….. couple days ago after some printing, I went go give my Robo3dR1+ a good cleaning. As I was cleaning the heated platform I noticed it was loose…. After lifting off the glass i noticed one of the magnets came off from the y-axis. Ok… No big deal, we got glue, fixed. But now with the table off it was time to oil and make sure everything looked good. What I found was not good, I noticed that I had about a 1/16th of an inch drop when the table was all the way out or back. Thought that did not seem right… So I placed a call to tech support to see what they thought about this. By the way my printer was 3 1/2 months old, he is just a baby, but he has worked hard. ie: we have gone through about 12 -15 rolls, some of my long prints have gone 27hrs. AND IT WORKS GREAT! So with their help we look it over, and found that on of the Pillow Blocks were cracked. Within a few minutes a new set was on my way. GREAT, THANK YOU ROBO3D. So feeling down and going into withdrawal I continued to look around, and found that other side was cracked as well. A quick email and they sent 2 sets. Thanks

So now what do I, I live in Canada so parts my take a while to get to me. Printer was working great before I found the cracks. See below.

20160122_100935.jpg Right hand top, Only thing holing it together were the bolts.
20160122_101004.jpg Both of these had the same cracks, but have not come apart.

So let’s print replacement parts, so that is what I did. I’m happy to report that surgery this morning went well and he is up and moving all around. Still very quite and no more drop.

    Happy, Happy, Happy

Time to print, more Replacement parts

Good catch. I would have suspected the pillow blocks or the bearings.
Best advice is to go ahead and print replacement parts for everything.
I have extruder parts... you know... just in case :)

All of my original Y axis pillow blocks are cracked or broken, I printed replacements a long time ago, figured new ones from Robo would crack also. The printed ones are holding up much better and I have no issues with them.

That is a case where something like PLA might be better than ABS or injection molded plastic :)
They do get a lot of vibration.
I have not had to replace them, yet. But I have a set printed now.

I only wish it was an hyrdo issue. The Pinter and my raspberry Pi are protected via a surg and UPS, the Pi never stopped, the leds turned off and the the motors and the fan went to 10%..... I turned the power of on the back or the printer and it took about 3-5 minutes to power back on. So tech agrees sure sounds like the power supply is dieing....
