I bought a hardened E3D nozzle. I tried to remove the brass nozzle and the heater block and everything turned! So I turned it back. Do I need two wrenches?

Also I was saw somewhere to heat the nozzle when you remove it?

Do I just put the new nozzle on or is there something special I have to do?

Yes, 16 mm is the width of the block. And unscrew it while hot.

That thing does not want to break free. Is it a left handed thread? Meaning a right turn actually unscrews it rather than a left turn?

Nope it's righty tighty left lossy. You need a good fitting wrench. My craftsmen ignition wrench was to lose and I had to go buy a tighter fitting husky.

I cannot believe I have to go through this much trouble to change a nozzle! None of the wire connectors are marked either. I do not have any zip ties or a zip tie gun to tighten them down. I almost wish I never bought the hardened tip and just threw away my glow filament and just by regular PLA.

Now I just heat it up and the nozzel comes right off or will it still be really, really tough?

You will still need to heat it up. 1st time removing it will be abit scary, well to me it was. Then after that you be doing it in no time. That is how I did mine too, removing everything. Scared that I might break something.

Then now, I just raised my hotend few cms above the bed, heat up the nozzle to 280 c (I am using the E3D now) Then use the wrench included & another to hold on the the heater block. Good luck.

you don't need to do any dis-assembly just heat up the nozzle and use two wrenches. Watch the Novice expert video I referred you to on you tube. It is a 2 min job to change a nozzle.

You didn't give me a link brother. Also Ocsff I did not receive a wrench n my little tool box they gave me. What size is the heat block 15,16mm?

Be careful though... I ended up bending my hot-end when I removed the standard hexagon hot-end the first time.

I suspect it will be easier next time since I now use an E3D hot-end which can be held with a socket wrench (the hexagon nozzle can't).

I found the video but none of my damn wrenches fit the nozzle. I have an adjustable wrench which I am using to hold teh heat block. Can I take the nozzle off with my needle nose pliers?

I use a 7mm wrench and a 16mm wrench. Heat to 220. Hold the heater block with the 16mmand turn left the 7mm on the nozzle. If you have problems still pm me and we will get it sorted

Edit: I don't know that it makes any difference unless it's a super cheap tool but both wrenches I use are snap on and it's a snug fit on both pieces.

I am not sure if there is a small wrench given with the Robo printer but for the E3D hotends, they do give you one to remove the nozzle.

There wasn't one in mine, if you don't have one 7mm hit up a pawn shop in your area and I'm sure they will have an over abundance for cheap

Okay I changed the nozzle. Do I need to do anything. Or can I just start printing?
