I have five (well four and a half, #5 has Z-axis $&*(&ery that I am troubleshooting) Robo R1s now. When they all run overnight, the print room is quite bright. Problem is, the print room is also where my big nocturnal plecostomus lives. She is quite annoyed by the lights, I built an enclosure for her tank to dim it down for her.

That's a temp solution at best -- how do I disable the LED lights so the machine prints dark? Ideally I'd like to trace the circuit so I can install a switch.

Can ya'll point me in the right direction?

Just unplug them from their power source or snip the wires.

    Ok that's a start.

Do they connect direct to the power-supply or go through the board? I haven't taken the cover off yet.

I don't remember, I haven't removed my bottom cover in a long time, but either way there will be no soldering irons involved.

If I remember right they go to the board, not direct to the power supply.

Depends on the version. Best to just follow the wire and unplug it where they connect :)

I have been thinking of adding a switch for mine. I've added a lot of light, but don't need it on all the time. So a switch would be nice.
