About this thread: There are a lot of scattered information on this forum, I intend to make this thread a basic collection for noobs looking for replacement parts or designs to print, Initially it will be un-structured and messy, I intend to prettify and improve it over time, please, please contribute with designs, parts, experiences, I will update the OP

I'm also intending to add pictures at one point in time, so it will be easier to spot a needed part

    The Robo 3D Printer:
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:69794/#files
I've seen this but from the thumbnail I always thought it was just a mini-robo-3d fun-design, yet it seems to include most of the Robo3D parts, yet it's from 2013 and very sadly it's not maintained

Z Stabiliser, Z-rod bottom (the original one looks very prone to being broken):
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:225839
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:432158 (printed it myself, haven't tried it)

    Top Spool Holder:
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:232391/#files
Suggestion: The rod from this design: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:23225 fits the V2 extremely well, otherwise it's unclear how the designer intended the V2 to be used - V2 is perfect yet the spool doesn't sit too high, minimal stress exists

    X Carriage:
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:647798

Adjustable Hobbed Shaft for the Extruder:
    http://e3d-online.com/Mechanical/Hobb-Goblin-8mm-Shaft
Experience: Recently installed this, it wasn't as easy as it looked, glad I bought 2 as I wasted one, once you get the tightener nut tightened, there doesn't seem to be a simple way to remove it, I used the tightener nut and a single shim to perfectly center the teeths, my suggestion is to tighten the nut slowly and check the alignment at each step TL;DR: Not too easy to apply

    E3D V6 Hotend:
    http://printedsolid.com/collections/accessories-and-upgrades/products/e3d-hot-end-kit-v6
    Mega-Thread: http://community.robo3d.com/index.p...ormation-installation-guides-and-review.3407/
My experience: Easy to install, but it's a good idea to print a spare extruder assembly beforehand
Suggestion: Buy the bowden/12V edition for the extra PTFE tubing

    Cooling Fan Holder (Snap-On):
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:977487
Printed this one, it fits well, yet it's weak, cracked it while removing, also it's too flush with the extruder tip, it would definitely touch one of those warped ABS prints - ended up keeping the fan in place with wires, looking for another solution that can be integrated with the E3D V6 in place

    Y-Axis/Bed Designs (Unverified):
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:386602
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:681894
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:439036
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:211965

    Y-Axis Belt Holders:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:213902 (I can't visualise how this one works)
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:396823

    Z-Axis Nut Holder/Auto-Level Component (Unverified):
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:349935/#files

    Extruder Assembly (Greg's Wade Reloaded):
    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18379 (Suggested by Mike Kelly)

    Parts:
(far from complete, again requesting help from the community, lets create a parts list down to every screw and every nut)

    Youtube Channels:

    Looking for:
    • Y Axis components and experiences
    • Z Axis components and experiences
    • Bed holders and experiences
    • Various itsy bitsy parts and placements

Good idea. I'm going to propose that we treat this as a curated thread so it doesn't get to be 30 pages long and impossible to find something. People can post their suggestions and @Kaan or one of the mods can add it to the original post then delete the additional posts. In the spirit of keeping overall thread length to a minimum, just click like if you are in favor of this approach.

Either that, or it could be very very long, yet the OP will stay curated, and maybe each person could add their own list and suggestions in a single post, that post could then be linked in the footer section of the OP (the post would be open to simple questions or remarks, as long as the OP stays curated and main posts are linked in the OP, I don't think thread length would be an issue)

I see a lot of community members with their own custom mods and solutions, that's where the linked-custom-mods-post idea came from

I'm also open to another member of the community adopting the project if s/he thinks s/he can do a better job, I'm definitely not the right man for the job, yet the community definitely needs this

A person who's looking for parts to fix his/her printer shouldn't struggle too much, I've recently struggled a lot while looking for replacement parts, I still struggle looking for exact replacements to print preemptively before something breaks

Yup, j-head is what the R3D extruder is designed off of, though the R1 plus should use the groove mount

Is this list for both the R1 and R1 plus? If not is there a R1 plus only list of modifications?

    It's R1

I tried to kickstart this effort in the community, but it failed, you will unfortunately have to look for each part individually, it's not easy

The R1+ is nearly identical to the R1 except for 3 main changes. It's not that different at all.

    1) Integrated Lead screws in place of stepper motor + helical coupler + M8 screws
    2) Plate for holding hot end in place. Replaces 2 screw method.
    3) Robo3d modified RAMPS1.4 board

Is there a gregs wade print for mounting a E3D V6 on a Robo R1 that might be suggested?

I am curious what your thoughts are:

I have a new Robo 3d R1+ and after reading the upgrade threads it becomes apparent that most of these were written for the R1.

Which if any would you do for an R1+?

Are there any that improve the resolution capabilities of the R1+?

What is the real benefit of changing out the hotend?

What is the stock hotend in the R1+ comparable to?

I have done some research on closed loop steppers and that is what is used in a lot of the higher end units($10k+) and was wondering if upgrading to closed loop steppers would be a beneficial.

    Thanks in advance!

I have no issues with my plus on resolution. What resolution are you trying for?

I did the dual parts fan for pla and the xxl controller.

The benefit of going to e3d if that's what your referring to is its fully maintainable where the hexagon really isn't.

I have no idea on the steppers your referring to but have no issues with mine, are you experiencing an issue?

No issues. I always do a ton of research and wanted to hear from others who have the Robo R1+. My prints are coming out really nice. I like ABS more than PLA but just read a thread on PET which I plan to grab from Microcenter today.

BTW the glow in the dark filament with a UV laser is really cool for the kids.

Petg is very nice to print with, not as easy as pla. You Can change your nozzle to a smaller size, lower your speed and crank down the layer height get a higher quality but at drastically increased printing times

I have a spool of glow as well! It's fun but I haven't touched it in months

The R1 and R1+ are nearly identical. For all intents they're the same printer. Biggest improvement is the lead screw but anything that works on the R1 will work on the R1+*

*besides the v6, that requires a new mounting plate.

Scroll up and you can see where I describe the changes

There is no real benefit of changing out the hot end unless you plan on printing a LOT of highly flexible materials, I printed them just fine on my stock hexagon.

You can improve he resolution with a finer nozzle, like 0.25mm. Though this is a challenge. Yes you can do this on the stock hot end no problem.

Closed loops steppers aren't used because they're unnecessary. Plastic forces really aren't that great so you generally have no problems that a closed loop system would solve

The main modifications I would do is a dual parts fan and an LCD.

    Thanks for the input!

I plan to do the dual fan. I have tested some prints with the fan off and found out quickly that I am better off with it on.

I am testing black PETG inland brand from Microcenter right now and running a temperature test to see what temp prints best with it.
