    Hey Brandon,

I was sort of unhappy with the EZStruder after a while. If you want so stick with them we can try adjusting how they're seated, which may help their performance.

For the cheaper route I'd suggest the Hercustruder. https://www.youmagine.com/designs/hercustruder

You'll need a few things of hardware, springs, and a couple 608zz bearings. You can reuse the hobbed drive gear from the EZStruder as well. I feel like this provides better control over how much tension there is on the filament.

Mounting it, some people just drill holes in their lid and mount it that way. Otherwise I can send you another piece that holds onto the side like before.

Lately I've been running the bondtech v2 extruder which is a beast. It's also very expensive so i'm not sure that's the route you want to go right away.

Mike, I didn't notice your endcaps for the X that run the Z when I first read this thread months ago. Those are nice. I redesigned the ones robo put out awhile back and never printed them. I like what you did to box things off. I wondered about filling in the left side where the X bearing attaches. Seems to me it would be stronger that way. Nice to see you did that. Love to get a copy of those. My intention was to put a second smooth rod on each side. I have the lower support, the top support and the endcaps for the X done for dual smooth rods, but like some of the tweaks you made. I need to remodel mine in Fusion 360 anyway. Originally did them in Tinkercad and know I can do better than that with better software.

So are the plexiglass doors on the printer for ventilation, or are they for something else?
