Had a bit of a wait while we were out of town, but back to it now.
We are still fine-tuning the darn thing. It is not easy to work with when troubleshooting since you can not really see it happen real-time.

We are still working out the tweaks, some small prints work and others stick to the vat ... got to get the exposure times dialed in.
The build plate is as low and even as we can physically get that. I am experimenting with things to make the polymer more likely to stick the build plate and less likely to stick to the bed :)

The WD 40 compound is far better than the more expensive PTFE liner stuff.

I was just looking at these online. Fleabay has a knock off Formlabs 1 for $880. But the reviews seem horrible. Next cheapest would be the Nobel 1.0, but I am still learning FDM, dunno if there is room in the brain for yet another tech ;) I may have to dump my childhood...

But I'm sure these will go as FDM has, down. The concerns would be cost per run. That resin is expensive and the build plate for consumer and prosumers seems tiny for the price along with the replacement of the optically clear silicon plate.

The build area is smaller because honestly if you are going this route it is for higher detail resolution, not larger size.
The resin is not only pricey, it is toxic (ok, not deadly, but painful if you get in on you).

I am still tuning mine :( in my spare time (which has been in short supply lately -- sorry).
It is difficult because you do it blind, but it is functional at least. No prints worth showing but we will get there.

Heh, well the last one was a really nice 'pancake' attached to the bottom of the build vat :)
Boring. Still working on getting consistent working prints.

I will be back to working on it this weekend so I'll post something (win or fail).
I turns out the MakerJuice we are using is itself a touch problematic.
