Come to think of it. This is my second hex in a little over a month of ownership and about a little less than a month of actual usage. I guess I am covered for another 5 months, but after that, I think I will need to go with the E3D. Maybe a V7 will be out by then? :)

It's all about what you need out of your printer and your personal preference on parts :). By all means rock the warranty, I know I did :)

The hex still comes apart right? I know that individual parts might not be as available as the E3Ds, but things like the nozzle can be replaced and use the same nozzles designed for the E3D hotends. Definitely make sure you exercise your warranty with Robo. Are you printing in PLA? If so, make sure to have an oiler. That helps with clogs.

Yes the nozzle comes off the hex but that's about the only part that can be changed.

Also by serviceable we mean if a specific part gets worn or damaged it can be replaced (you can't buy 'bits' for the hexagon -- other than E3D nozzles)

I tried replacing the nozzle on the old one. Still have that E3D nozzle I got from Amazon. When I tried, I heated it up to 285 C and that nozzle wouldn't budge. Eventually the entire hotend started failing as the thermistor slipped out of the notch since the insulator boot disintegrated ( it was already ripped) but the heat must have accelerated it.

I wish I could like that post more than once. Matt (owner of PS) rocks!! If there is something I want, or need, that he stocks, I always goto him first. He is the definition of "Going the extra mile".

Ha...I was going to say that. He didn't have something on his site that he did have for purchase just last week. So yes, always ask first.

Well, I think he drew the line with me :)

Still, if he stocks it and I need it then he is the go-to guy.
