The stop at the home is abrupt, but I wouldn't call it a 'slam'. You might want to lift the bed and verify the travel front-to-back (Y+/Y-) and that nothing (other wires, etc) is getting in the way.

Check to make sure the clamp at the back of the bed that holds the ribbon cable (Phillips screw) isn't tilted. Shipping moved mine once and I did a silly and loosened it and didn't tighten it again and it would SLAM

Thanks for the help guys. Made some progress on this. It has to be some setting in Simplify. I went back and put some painters tape down and then leveled the bed again but printed in Mattercontrol. Heres what I came up with. Printed much better this time. There is a little space in a few spots that was not completely filled. What should be adjusted to fix that so that its all one smooth fill.See second photo of the close up.

Probably the startup gcode is different (you have the M565 in there for S3D?)

Glad you got it working. Just sort out the software :)

Can you copy and past what's in your start up script tab of s3d?

I use their standard script from the S3D download for the Robo. Again I tried to print this yesterday via the Simpify and it layed a little and then spreaded the buggers everywhere. I really do want to use the S3D since I paid $100 plus for it. Plus its so easy to move my peices around and prints objects really well when I use the raft. However as soon as I remove a raft I cant get a good first layer.

Here's what I read for the S3D script.

    Start up script
    G28 ; home all axes
    G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift Z by 5mm
    M565 Z-1 ; set the offset for auto-leveling mechanism
    G29 ; run auto-level

M565Z-1 ; set the offset for

    That line the m565z-1

Is a default. Mine is currently -.73

This makes it closer to the bed. If you need to go higher than -1.? (?=a number you come up with by trying in .02 increments)

This is a different number for all machines. I'd guess you need to drop that number. Try -.9 and move accordingly. I'd its to close at -.9 try -.95. I have a feeling you will be lower than that to get a good 1st layer

My extrusion width is .48 for a .4 nozzle as I like a fatter 1st layer to help with adhesion

Yea, the -1.0 is a default value. Not a good value :)
You have to experiment and find yours. One of mine is -0.9 and the other -0.6
