Could thermistor be loose somewhere? Or just the thermistor is shot? Oh and yes every time i turn the control knob it does dim or brighten the bed LEDs which is odd.

That would be one possibility. A loose thermistor that moves around is another. Getting separated from the heater block will make the temperature drop as well. The new Robos use a different way of mounting that makes this a lot less likely and the bad thermistor a lot MORE likely. A loose wire to the RAMPS (from the thermistor) can cause this as well.

Yes there is a set screw on the bottom of the block they screw into (heater block)

The cooling fan could be overpowering the heater as well. If i have the ceiling fan or ac on it would affect my stock heater.

Also might be worth verifying the thermistor is well seated onto the ramp. Give all the connectors a good look, expecially the leds and lcd if its giving you fits

My new stock R1+ the LED's have flickered since I got it. I just ignored it.

As for temp drops, yep mine does that too. I found 50% cooling fan speed works. if I run it at 100% I get temp fall errors.

Larger heater core would help sort that or redirecting the parts fan so it doesn't hit the nozzle.

If your prints are working -- don't worry about it :)

I printed out fan ducts for my r1+ never had the issue again. 40 watt heaters are a good think to have on the parts shelf for sure
