MY x axis is offset on the first layer for some reason. Any advice?

I don't understand what your issue is? Pictures and some more details?

When facing the printer the x axis jogs left and right. My first layer is offset a small amount and thereafter all of the layers are aligned properly.

That looks like your printing with a skirt ? Does the first layer stick out all the way around the part ?

    What slicers have you tried?

That is an odd thing and I am not clear how that could be the printer itself.
I could see an obstruction or loose belt or loose drive cog causing that, but not always and only the first layer.
That is why I would try a different program.

P.S. That looks exactly like belt skip, but only the first layer? Odd.

I've noticed its not always the first layer. Sometimes it goes in and out. How would I fix belt slip?

also the toothed gear on the stepper is tight. I was also guessing maybe the stepper is going bad... I use simplify 3D and this just randomly started happening. I don't think its the slicer...

If the timing pulleys on the steppers are tight then it would have to be a loose belt. I was told (and it works!) If the belt thumps when you strum it its to loose on the x it should twang :)

Thank you have wanted to know how to tell if the belt is tight enough or not.
