My extruder jammed tonight on my R1+ and I was able to clear it. Putting the filament back in I noticed the little fan on the find wasn't spinning. I was wondering what I need to check to see if i can get it working again. Thanks

Just to be clear you are talking about the small fan that is attached directly to the side of the hotend, not the one that blows on the printed part?

Both fans plug in at the wiring and at the ramps.

If the small fan that blows across the cold end failed that explains your jam. It should be running all the time when you have the power on for the printer

If its the parts fan and its not coming on when commanded by the slicer make sure its plugged in secure to the black jst connector by the extruder stepper if yes make sure it didnt fall off your ramps board.

Yes the one on the side. The schematics Robo sent me look nothing like my R1+. Is the side extruder fan the one on the lower right side? Is so it in. How hard are these to replace? Can I buy it at Radio shack? Are there installment videos? Thanks

Hi john. The small stock fan is a 25x25mm fan i think 10mm deep. Turn on your printer and flick the fan. Does it start working ?

The extruder fan is the one attached like this picture:

    It should always be on.

That is the one not working. I have moved it and it won't start moving. All wires on the top and bottom appear to be connected good. I am going over to see if RadioShack has one

12 vdc, the sizes @Geof quoted are correct for the Hexagon (E3D uses a 30mm). Not that a 5mm larger fan makes a real difference...
