3DPR just open the gcode in notepad++ or something. I can see both links just fine

Just to be sure, try printing another file, to make it simple. It might have been software/firmware or hardware?

Gcode looks good over a scan.

@maxhebus is your PC going into sleep mode during the print?

@3D Printing ROBO I'm not following your logic of code causing an error in the console log which is the issue.

@danzca6 i think you and I are on the same page with a communication error or the temp fall @mark tomlinson brought up.

The sleep mode of the pc had slipped my mind.

HA! I got that MF.

    SENT: G1 X80.063 Y152.497 E41.8501
RECEIVED: Error:Extruder switched off. Temperature fell too much during print!
RECEIVED: Error:printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)
RECEIVED: Printer stopped due to errors. Fix the error and use M999 to restart. (Temperature is reset. Set it after restarting)
    RECEIVED: ok

Looks like it went from the set 200C to 196.7C

And I do not have a sleep mode on my PC.

@maxhebus Yessir yessir that's the widget we need. Loose thermistor connection or parts fan cooling the heater instead of the print.

Are you using the e3d heater (25w) or the hexagon heater (30w)

What would that possibly have to do with a temp fall error?

    I think, try this:
    Try sd card
    Check the heater/thermistor

A brand new thermistor..... Isn't that sad....
I'm waiting for some brand new ones... What is the average life expectation for a thermistor?

Thanks guys for being on the case. I'll update this thread as soon as I've changed the thermistor and tried to print again.

@maxhebus shut off your cooling fans and try to print. The thermistor may not be at fault.

I typically break those fragile ones that's why I urge all e3d users to look at the stud thermistor :)

The only problem with the v6 E3D is that it comes with a 25w heater core. The hexagon has a 30w.
If the parts fan is blowing on the hotend and not the printed part -- even a little bit -- then it will struggle to stay at temp.

You can get 40w ceramic heater cores for less than $2 each (got to buy a bag of 5) from Amazon, Prime.
They work fine and you will not have any future problems with TEMP FALL

I can not for the life of me figure out what possessed E3D to drop to a 25w core. They originally were using 35w (E3D v5) and then used 40w with the volcano, but for the v6 they dropped to 25w

Also, e3d is coming out with a silicone boot/cover that will help with filament splatter and to help with fans blowing on it. I like the tip about the new ceramic heater core. Very nice!

@maxhebus If you still have the hexagon heater and it works that could be thrown in to see if it helps as well :)
