Yesterday I was sad to find a little piece of glass had popped off the bed. Not sure if using the abs slurry now caused it to be too solid of a bond or what.

Where can I get a new heated bed for my Robo3D?

    Thanks,

    Peter J. Fischel

Robo is the only place for parts specific to Robo.

However they may or may not have spare beds in stock.

Many solutions (like ABS juice) for bed adhesion can be too aggressive. You can always put a thin plate of glass (tempered or plate) over the bed and use that.

Thanks a lot Mark. I feel terrible I chipped the bed because I love my printer so much. Maybe I put too much abs in my acetone. I took a bunch of strings from a failed print and stuffed them in a jar with the acetone. A tempered glass over the other glass might be good idea. Do you know off hand how big the glass is so I can order one from amazon?

    9 3/4 X 14 3/4 will get you close (assuming you have an R1 or R1+).
You can use small binder clips to hold it (by the ends) on the existing bed.

I ordered from this store last year and it is certainly an impressive clone if not the real deal. $130 CAD at the time. Took a couple weeks to arrive. Robo team never did reply to inquirers.

I chipped my bed too. What I did was add a sheet of PEI on top of the bed. Best thing I ever did and it was cheaper than a new glass from Robo.

I have a roll of 6" wide Kapton Tape... been debating to cover it with that.

I read somewhere that this is often associated with using PETG.
    It happened to me also.
My solution was to flip the r3d plate over and install a new heater on the new bottom side.
I used a safety razor to remove the black coating.

Here is a picture of my chip. It doesn't seem to really affect much right now.

    Here's what I would do.

    1. Fill the hole with some type of epoxy that is resistant to heat and will attach to the glass and make sure you scrape off excess to make it as level as possible.
    2. Buy a sheet of PEI plastic and put it on top (3M makes an adhesive that will glue the sheet down). There are videos on YouTube showing you.

You can get high-temp epoxy (doesn't have to be stupidly high temp as the bed won't be over 150c anyway).
    That is an excellent suggestion.
