When changing PLA filament, waited til extruder was above 185 degrees, tried to pull out current PLA filament and it snapped right at the extruder top. Tried a needle nosed pliers but it snapped again. How do I get the rest of the old filament out of the extruder so I can use the printer? Tried just printing another project hoping filament would come out - no go. Help please,

If you can't reach it anymore you can very carefully just try to push it with other filament until the new filament is in. Then you should be good to go

P.S: By can't reach I mean that the filament is fully in the extruder and have no where to go

Thanks. I'll give it another try although I tried it once already and it wouldn't go thru all the way.

Worst case is you have to remove the nozzle and pull it out that way.
More of a pain since you need to do it hot (at least the nozzle loosening part).

Thanks Mark. Looks like I need to remove and clean as you suggested.

Just use two wrenches (one for the brass nozzle and one for the heater block) so that you do not break the hotend.

7mm fits the nozzle. A good 16mm or small crecent wrench works well on the heater block. Mind the wires they are very delicate...and be careful its hot ;-) someone (yea me) loosened the nozzle the first time then went to unscrew it with their fingers....i know duh! Lol

Get it hot and take the little Allen wrench and push it through
