for whatever reason my printer prints the first 2 or 3 layers of the raft fine and the starts pulling it apart on the 4th layer. I've never had a problem so I have no ideas of what to do.. printing PLA at 195 with heat bed at 60 .. medium quality.. using simplify 3d.. cleaned the bed and reglued.. no better.. any help is appreciated

Do you have a picture of that that looks like on the 4th layer?

    Hi goblin.
I don't use a raft (actually never have) but that seems like some bonkers settings. Are you using default from s3d?

Also if no response quickly enough you can ping their support staff (s3d) with you fff and a photo.

Ah! Let's get you printing without a raft of that would be ok with you :)

Which printer do you have ? What are you using for adhesion? Bed temp? Material? Z offset ?

Can you copy and paste your start up script in s3d? I use hairspray but glue stick will work

    G28 ; home all axes

    G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift Z by 5mm

    M565 Z-1 ; set the offset for auto-leveling mechanism

    G29 ; run auto-level

    Try this with no raft:

    G28 ; home all axes

    G1 Z5 F5000 ; lift Z by 5mm

    M565 Z-.80 ; set the offset for auto-leveling mechanism

    G29 ; run auto-level

The m565 z-1.0 is default and will need tinkered with to get the first layer perfect for your set up if -.80 is to close to the bed try -.85.

You want the filament to be squished but not so much the nozzle ruts the filament :)

Is that trying to print or during auto level?

I'd guess it's still to high off the bed. If you have some hairspray try that on the bed. Lower the -.80 to -.75 and try again.

Edit: for what it's worth mine is -.73 but it varies printer to printer.
