I just built a 6-way transistor board so I could control each individual fan and the RGB lights on my printer. Everything works when I request the function from my LCD controller, but as soon as I ask for all fans and lights to reach max load the Arduino restarts.

If I take two fans off the board and just power them from a 12v rail everything functions normally.

I know this is an issue caused by modification, but I have run out of ideas to try, so I thought I'd ask the forum.

@TomerO I think you might be able to give some good insight on this

I assume this is in-line with the 12v to the arduino. Is it only using one of the 12v rails or both?

Well the power supplying the transistors is straight from the power supply.

More concerned about a blip on the line that supplies power to the Arduino. There are two rails into the RAMPS. A 5amp and an 11amp.
The 11 drives the output FETS (bed power and extruder power) the 5 one drives pretty much everything else.
It could be you are causing enough of a momentary load to sag the one rail. If it were the extruder or bed heater ... not an issue, but the power to VCC on the arduino Mega -- yea.

Fans have a fairly stout startup current surge and that can sag the P/S rail just a bit. A larger P/S is another alternative, but try swapping rails first.

EDIT: worst case split them between rails :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll have to do some tinkering to see what I can get to work.

Not yet. I'm sure if I apply what some people have been saying on the YouTube video, I can get it resolved.
