Hmmm.... I can almost guarantee that the 1.0 offset isn't correct for the machine(I've never heard of that being accurate so adhesion issues force people to using the raft)

As far as a raft not working now when it use to that would be hard for me to say. Filament building up without a raft is most likely due to an adhesion issue. I use hairspray and adjust my z so when it starts extruding it is sticking to the bed not the nozzle.

Do you use an oiler with pla?

I could understand the adhesion if it was the first layer.. but after its already printed 3 or 4 layers? and no I don't use an oiler

Do you have some canola oil? Wipe down the filament with some on a rag, extrude a few hundred mm of filament and try your print again.

Pla has tendencies(out of the blue and at random) to cause extrusion issues without seasoning or running and oiler.

I was referring to your first layer no raft photo for the adhesion :)

I have been there more times then I'd like to admit. Let me know how you do, I'm certain we can work through this.

Looking at that raft.... I agree that rarely would you need one. I never have. Make sure the little fan under the printer toward the front is running fine. Just something I always check when things get goofy for no other reason. The RAMPS board needs proper cooling fit the driver's and such to work at their best. However, @Geof is right, with proper adhesion and z offset you shouldn't need a raft. Good luck and keep cool. You have to learn to walk before you can run and even then you can stumble with 3d printing. It's all part of the learning process. Folks are here to help when you need it. Let us know how it goes tomorrow.

I also use aqua net. Super cheap and lasts a long time. Cleans up with some windex.

ok thanks.. I tried printing again and got better but still not good results.. it seems like once the speed picks up on the print is when it goes to hell.. it printed out the raft but the got messy on the last layer.. I atleasy got it to stick to the platform very well.. I'll have to get the oil and try that as well

Gobblin, if you want to verify its not a slicer issue I can upload my s3d fff for you to try. I do still think getting your offset right to print without a raft is a good goal.

Canola oil (cooking oil) is a must for pla printing.

What speed are you printing at ?

Save it so where you can find it. Open s3d go to file, import fff profile
