Aug 17, 2016 at 6:42 AM - Bill Monroe: you too.. have fun
    Aug 17, 2016 at 8:52 AM - danzca6: daniel...where is today's funny pic? I need a good laugh.
Aug 17, 2016 at 8:55 AM - danzca6: Post office lost two parcels I shipped off to forum members yesterday....argh
Aug 17, 2016 at 10:42 AM - Geof: Oh no! Danzca that sucks
Aug 17, 2016 at 10:48 AM - teknoprep: are there any upgrades to better nozzles for the r1+ ?
Aug 17, 2016 at 10:49 AM - teknoprep: multi color nozzle with upgrade remote mounted extruders
    Aug 17, 2016 at 10:49 AM - teknoprep: etc.
Aug 17, 2016 at 11:03 AM - danzca6: so are you wanting to do a a dual bowden setup?
Aug 17, 2016 at 11:03 AM - danzca6: yeah Geof, I need to go to the post office after work and see what is going on. First time having that issue.

    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:08 PM - Schlomo: Whats up Ya'll
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:23 PM - danzca6: hey Schlomo! Where have you been?
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:25 PM - Schlomo: Oh out and about
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:26 PM - Schlomo: did a big move and kinda fell of the face of the 3d printing planet
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:26 PM - Schlomo: finally got the garage where I wanted it and the beast powered up for a few functional prints
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:27 PM - Schlomo: looking into Mesh bed leveling now, want to try my hand at a few Nylons
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:28 PM - danzca6: yeah this summer was a blur
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:29 PM - danzca6: glad to hear that the beast is still working
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:32 PM - danzca6: well, welcome back good sir
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:33 PM - Schlomo: thanks
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:34 PM - danzca6: I have to ask, have you printed anything that takes the full build height of the beast yet?
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:34 PM - Schlomo: lol nope
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:35 PM - danzca6: after ALL that work...<shacking my head sir>
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:36 PM - danzca6: haha
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:36 PM - danzca6: not even a big dragon or something
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Schlomo: Ha, well i've only done about 6 prints on it since I set it all back up 2 months ago
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Schlomo: na im not very interested in the pretty prints
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Geof: The point is that he can! Lol
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Schlomo: I put my 0.4mm nozzle back on too.
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:37 PM - Schlomo: i printed a few tall vases right after i did the mod and those quickly got thrown away by the wife
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:38 PM - Schlomo: lets see, last print was a custom fish finder transducer mount for my new kayak
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:38 PM - Schlomo: [IMG]

    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:40 PM - Schlomo: abs, 0.6mm nozzle
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:40 PM - Schlomo: 0.4mm layer height
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:40 PM - danzca6: are you using the volcano still
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:41 PM - danzca6: ...wait...wife threw out the vase...only the flowers are supposed to get thrown out
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:41 PM - danzca6: haha
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:42 PM - Schlomo: Ha no, it was a single perimeter so they didnt hold water, more of a test of height with minimal material being wasted
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:43 PM - Schlomo: No on the volcano. I couldn't get consistent results with it
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:43 PM - Schlomo: I purchased a 0.6mm SS nozzle for my V6 which worked better than the volcano
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:43 PM - danzca6: man, i can't remember what I saw the other day. I saw something that reminded me of your issues with the volcano that might be a fix...darn my old memory
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:44 PM - Schlomo: Ha well if you remember let me know. I couldnt figure out what the proper settings were after about 40 calibration cubes
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:45 PM - Schlomo: my baby printer hasn't seen any filament in a long time
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:45 PM - Schlomo: no point with the low volume i end up printing
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:45 PM - danzca6: yeah, but you made one hell of a cubert game
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:45 PM - Schlomo: its a cool little "I did this" piece
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:46 PM - danzca6: man I am all about the "what if" modifications. got a bad case of tinkering lately
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:50 PM - Schlomo: i'd like dual extrusion
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:50 PM - Schlomo: but i've kinda modified where my funds are going to these days
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Schlomo: at least until the 3d printing bug comes back to me
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Schlomo: in the short amount of time i've been quiet on here there have been so many new types of filaments coming out.
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Schlomo: its like 3d printing is the cure to cancer or something
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:51 PM - danzca6: I wish
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:53 PM - Schlomo: anyone try printing with Wax filament?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:54 PM - Schlomo: "Moldlay"
    Aug 17, 2016 at 12:56 PM - danzca6: never heard of it
Aug 17, 2016 at 12:58 PM - Schlomo: whole new world of possibilies when you can print melt able positives for molds..
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM - danzca6: I want to get into mold making
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:00 PM - danzca6: opens up a whole new world of ideas with the printer
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:01 PM - David Howarth: any chance you guys know anything about Simplify3d?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:02 PM - danzca6: not yet for me I am afraid...but soon
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:02 PM - Schlomo: Woah thats a name i've seen before. You have the same first and last of my old company General Manager
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:03 PM - David Howarth: Im running an R1+ on simplify 3d, everytime it runs the auto-level g-code it pushes the y-axis too far and the motor makes that bumping sound that means its gone too far. Can't figure out which parameters to adjust.
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:03 PM - David Howarth: It would be cool if I was your old GM, but it's unlikely.
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:03 PM - Schlomo: True
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:04 PM - Schlomo: Your heated bed cable isn't getting stuck under your bed is it?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:04 PM - danzca6: or the cork board
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:04 PM - Schlomo: mine did the same thing when I first got it
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:05 PM - Schlomo: thought it was parameters in firmware, ended up being I didnt gently remove the cable from under the heated bed carriage. It was getting stuck
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:05 PM - danzca6: yeah unless it is pushing out as far as the homing of the Y did, then it is probably something getting caught
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:05 PM - David Howarth: ill double check the bed cable, brb
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:05 PM - Schlomo: There is a setting though for bed size in Simplify 3d
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:06 PM - Schlomo: thatd be the only parameter that might affect it, however i believe G29 has no effect other than from firmware, so S3d wouldnt make a difference
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:07 PM - danzca6: that is true...unless his issue is after the print actually starts, then it can't be the slicer
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:07 PM - Schlomo: Right
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:10 PM - David Howarth: just checked the heating bed cable, it's. Is there anyway to adjust the location of the points where it auto-levels?
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:11 PM - Schlomo: Have you ever done any modifications to your printer?
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:12 PM - danzca6: you can adjust it, but it is in the firmware
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:12 PM - David Howarth: Dang, don
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:12 PM - David Howarth: *don't want to mess with the firmware just yet
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:12 PM - David Howarth: I replaced the bed, no other adjustments
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:13 PM - David Howarth: On the jog controls it can go past that point before the motors backup, but in the auto-leveling it wont...
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:13 PM - Schlomo: Well what im saying is if you haven't modified firmware at all you're probably hitting a physical limit somewhere, as in something is getting stuck on your bed
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:13 PM - Schlomo: oh, hmm
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:13 PM - Schlomo: you can try reducing the bed size in S3d and see if that changes anything
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:13 PM - David Howarth: Yeah if the jog controls couldn't go farther I'd think so too. It's strange. Im thinking MAYBE simplify has set my bed limits incorrectly
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:13 PM - danzca6: you replaced the bed...
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:14 PM - danzca6: with a new robo glass plate or something else
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:14 PM - David Howarth: With a replacement r1 plate
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:14 PM - David Howarth: It did it before replacement as well
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:14 PM - David Howarth: and the possible y-offset from the r1 plates is no more than 2mm since it lines up with the plastic frame on the ends
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:15 PM - danzca6: yeah that should be good
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:15 PM - David Howarth: ill test the simplify3d by making the bed 100x100 or something and see if it has any effect
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:15 PM - danzca6: you got this new or used?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:15 PM - danzca6: the printer that is

Aug 17, 2016 at 1:17 PM - David Howarth: New
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:17 PM - David Howarth: OK so even when the size was adjust in S3D, the ped used the same calibration points
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:17 PM - David Howarth: But for some reason it ran smoothly
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:17 PM - David Howarth: so I guess its fixed until something stops it...
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:18 PM - Schlomo: lol
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:18 PM - danzca6: or you need to print something bigger than 100x100
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:18 PM - Schlomo: cable could be getting caught intermittently?
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:18 PM - Schlomo: idk man
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:18 PM - Schlomo: S3D Shouldn't have any affect on that, only firmware on the Micro itself
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:18 PM - Schlomo: key word is "Shouldn't"
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:19 PM - danzca6: yeah, david is it getting caught up during the probing or just after
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:19 PM - danzca6: if after, then it must be the bed size set in s3d
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:19 PM - danzca6: are you using the robo3d profile in s3d
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:19 PM - David Howarth: During the probing
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:20 PM - David Howarth: Yeah I'm using the Robo profile
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:20 PM - danzca6: hmm, then how is changing the bed size in the slicer fixing your issue...I would think that would need to be a firmware change
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:20 PM - danzca6: need to see a video of it
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:20 PM - David Howarth: changed it back and its working still, must have been a loose cable
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - danzca6: scratching my head to hard trying to visualize
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - danzca6: oh
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - David Howarth: Thank you for your help
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - Schlomo: ^^That sounds most likely
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - danzca6: then that is a good thing
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - David Howarth: On an entirely different note, have either of you ever used MakeShaper PLA?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - danzca6: no sir
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:21 PM - danzca6: I have only used hatchbox pla so far
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:22 PM - Schlomo: I dont like PLA
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:22 PM - Schlomo: still have the original spool my Robo came with
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:22 PM - Schlomo: i print PC, ABS, and hopefully soon Nylon
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:22 PM - Schlomo: and maybe some flexables if i can get them to work through a long bowden tube
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:23 PM - David Howarth: hatchbox is great. I was using ABS for a while but then i somehow tore apart my bed from a combination of ABS, Elmers glue sticks, and air conditioning and it wasnt pretty
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:24 PM - danzca6: if the only pla you have used is the blue sample from robo, no wonder you don't like it
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:25 PM - David Howarth: so for this PLA my hobbed bolt keeps slipping and its driving me crazy. The brand engineer said its a low-flow so dry upping the e-steps or the extrusion multiplier. but its still skipping heavily. Killing prints AND the worst sound ever.
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:25 PM - Schlomo: Ha no i have some hatchbox for my mini, since its a PLA Only printer
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:26 PM - Schlomo: David, i'd print an oiler
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:26 PM - Schlomo: few drops of vegetable oil should help if you have an oiler
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:27 PM - Schlomo: check thingiverse for a PLA Oiler
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:27 PM - David Howarth: That's what Motorcycle Mark said, i guess ill give it a shot. They mentioned they had someone who uses a ROBO. The forums should have a library of Robo settings
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:28 PM - danzca6: never heard him called motorcycle mark before :)
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:29 PM - danzca6: if it is skipping on the extruder and making a noise...then that isn't an oiler fix IMO
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:29 PM - Schlomo: unless the nozzle needs seasoned
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:29 PM - Schlomo: and is unable to flow plastic
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:30 PM - David Howarth: It basically depends on if its the bolt or the nozzle
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:30 PM - danzca6: even then...I mean I agree if you are using PLA then an oiler helps a lot, but having it make a bad noise seems to be to be something else
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:30 PM - Schlomo: By bad noise do you mean the stepper is skipping? Like a bumping/thumping noise?
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:30 PM - danzca6: I would go through and tighten things up on the extruder assembly
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:31 PM - David Howarth: the stepper seems to be turning smoothly
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:32 PM - Schlomo: while its making the bad noise?
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:32 PM - danzca6: or maybe a bad bearing in the extruder
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:32 PM - David Howarth: checking now
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:32 PM - Schlomo: yeah. Sounds like your grinding filament then, thats all i can think of if the hobbed bolt is spinning but you're not extruding
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Schlomo: if thats the case, definatly oil or run cleaning filament through your hot-end
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Schlomo: or both
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM - danzca6: might be tensioned too tight, is that what your are thinking
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Schlomo: could be that too
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Schlomo: though i wouldnt think the bolt would be turning
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:33 PM - Schlomo: but anyway, its quittin time
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM - Schlomo: cya, good luck David
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM - Schlomo: Bye Dan
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM - David Howarth: thanks
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM - David Howarth: the sound is definitely just the filament clicking
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM - David Howarth: ive run clean through it, ill try seasoning it
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:34 PM - David Howarth: ive run with the springs tight and loose, no difference
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:35 PM - David Howarth: is there any other tensioning mechanism besides the two springs?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:35 PM - danzca6: that's it
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:36 PM - danzca6: when you pull the filament out, what does it look like?
Aug 17, 2016 at 1:36 PM - danzca6: any gouges or big teeth marks
    Aug 17, 2016 at 1:39 PM - danzca6: Hey Schlomo...don't be a stranger...have a good night
    Aug 17, 2016 at 5:16 PM - Schlomo: Yo
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:17 PM - Schlomo: Anyone know how to tell if mesh bed leveling is working?
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:25 PM - WheresWaldo: Print something
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:25 PM - WheresWaldo: Or do you mean you want to check if it is enabled?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 5:27 PM - Schlomo: I check firmware
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:28 PM - Schlomo: and ran the leveling routine, but when i print something my z-axis doesnt move up or down at all
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:28 PM - Schlomo: maybe my bed was already close?
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:30 PM - WheresWaldo: From a terminal screen issue a G29 command, it will tell you if MESH is enabled. If the bed is pretty close you might not see it moving, also if you have lead screws it might even be harder to see.
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:31 PM - WheresWaldo: 8mm needs 2560 steps for 1 mm, so it moves a lot, Lead crews only need 800 and thrid part ones only need 400 steps.
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:34 PM - Schlomo: oh shoot it says not active
    Aug 17, 2016 at 5:34 PM - Schlomo: hmm
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:37 PM - Schlomo: what do i need to do to enable it?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 5:45 PM - Schlomo: i have MeshBedLeveling enabled
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:53 PM - WheresWaldo: Did you same memory after you did the leveling procedure?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 5:53 PM - WheresWaldo: Are you using RC7?
Aug 17, 2016 at 5:55 PM - WheresWaldo: There was a bug in RC6 that disabled MESH if you used G28 on a single axis to move the extruder head (This was a default GCode that S3D put in their end code)
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:01 PM - Schlomo: so if i run the mesh bed leveling, then store to memory, i get this from a m501
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:02 PM - Schlomo: Recv: Mesh bed leveling: Recv: echo: M420 S0 X5 Y5 Recv: echo: M421 X20.00 Y20.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X70.00 Y20.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X120.00 Y20.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X170.00 Y20.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X220.00 Y20.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X20.00 Y73.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X70.00 Y73.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X120.00 Y73.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X170.00 Y73.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo: M421 X220.00 Y73.00 Z0.00 Recv: echo:
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:02 PM - Schlomo: seems the z offsets aren't being stored
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:14 PM - Schlomo: looks like im using rc6
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:37 PM - Schlomo: updated, ran level, stored to memory

    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:49 PM - danzca6: I haven't made the move to mesh yet
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:50 PM - danzca6: tried RC7 with my IR but it gave me fits and I had to revert back to do some prints. Just haven't had time to jump back in

Aug 17, 2016 at 6:53 PM - danzca6: still black and white? or are you using black and green?
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:55 PM - danzca6: I guess I'll see when you post the pic :)
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:55 PM - Schlomo: so if i issue a m501, will i have to re-run mesh if i turn off the printer?
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:55 PM - Geof: Still black and white. Waiting on filament order to come in lol
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:55 PM - Geof: Next order is ninja flex, semi flex, pva, and Petg
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:57 PM - danzca6: M501 is a read right
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:57 PM - Schlomo: thought it was a store
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - Schlomo: oh shoot im backward
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - Schlomo: m500
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - danzca6: M502 then M500 does a reset of EEPROM
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - Schlomo: if i do mesh level, then a m500
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - Schlomo: turn off printer, then do m501 i should have my old values still?
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - Schlomo: id test but im doing a print now
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:58 PM - danzca6: "Set the active parameters to those stored in the EEPROM. This is useful to revert parameters after experimenting with them."
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:59 PM - danzca6: if you stored your mesh settings in the EEPROM, then M501 will just read them back
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:59 PM - danzca6: At least...that is how I am reading it
Aug 17, 2016 at 6:59 PM - Schlomo: ok, and m500 is a store so i shouild be good
    Aug 17, 2016 at 6:59 PM - danzca6: best to try though...I'm a mesh newb

Aug 17, 2016 at 7:02 PM - Schlomo: too lazy to set it up
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:03 PM - Schlomo: my word, S3D says this will take 16 hours, Octoprint says 4 days lol
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:08 PM - danzca6: well...better get some beers...you are going to be there awhile
    Aug 17, 2016 at 7:09 PM - Geof: Lol :) more than a couple ;-)
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:30 PM - Toro1966: Hey guys - in S3D - in preview mode while printing, I can see and move through my layers. Once I am done doing that, how do I get it to start tracking again along with the print?
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:32 PM - Geof: I have no idea? I print sd, never used a USB and s3d
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:51 PM - Toro1966: Thanks Geof. MIght have to ask on the S3d side. Never been over there :)
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:52 PM - Geof: Might be a good idea, someone else on here may know
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:55 PM - Toro1966: Maybe I'll post it int he morning. Lots of smart people here!
Aug 17, 2016 at 7:57 PM - danzca6: and out of those smart people, not everyone visits the shoutbox. You could post the question under the software forum. I know others use S3D a lot and probably know right away if they print USB

Aug 19, 2016 6:22 AM - Bill Monroe: Hey Dan
    Aug 19, 2016 6:35 AM - danzca6: Hey Bill...happy Friday!
Aug 19, 2016 6:35 AM - danzca6: any big plans for the weekend?
Aug 19, 2016 6:45 AM - Bill Monroe: updating the mill... cleaning, laundry... nothing special
    Aug 19, 2016 6:45 AM - Bill Monroe: you?
Aug 19, 2016 7:14 AM - danzca6: well we are getting some good rain this weekend, so probably inside stuff. I hope to finish some things with the printer
Aug 19, 2016 7:15 AM - danzca6: sorry for the delayed response....we have a large rain storm coming through that my weather app said nothing about. So I had to move my motorcycle to a dryer place. Might be a wet ride home tonight
    Aug 19, 2016 7:45 AM - danzca6: http://www.3ders.org//articles/2016...ted-sith-lightsaber-by-sean-charlesworth.html
Aug 19, 2016 12:32 PM - Toro1966: Is there a way in S3D to have the printer stop at a predetermined location so I can change filament? I know I can pause, change, and start again as long as I move the nozzle back to where it was, I was wondering if there was a way to make the software remember the location so when I hit resume, not matter where I've manually moved the print head to, it will go back to the location it left off and start again.
Aug 19, 2016 12:55 PM - danzca6: I don't know off hand, but i know that is something tgaw on youtube does. I am pretty sure she uses S3D but not sure if she details it...it has to do it though just not sure of how at the moment
Aug 19, 2016 12:56 PM - Toro1966: I know Cura does it, but can't seem to find it in S3D
Aug 19, 2016 12:56 PM - danzca6: well...just checked her channel and no video of her doing it
Aug 19, 2016 12:58 PM - danzca6: I need to start getting into S3D with the rest of you...I just have been using Cura so long

    Aug 19, 2016 1:12 PM - danzca6: yeah...that would be big
Aug 19, 2016 1:15 PM - danzca6: so are you saying your going to have the 3 motors do the leveling of the bed?
    Aug 19, 2016 1:15 PM - Bill Monroe: ya
Aug 19, 2016 1:16 PM - danzca6: very interesting...probably don't need to be that big of motor either
Aug 19, 2016 1:16 PM - Bill Monroe: release control to a seperate controller, level the table (or to be precise, make it parallel to the ganty), then turn control back over to the trajectory planner
    Aug 19, 2016 1:16 PM - Bill Monroe: they'll all be NEMA 23s.. cuz I have a butt-ton of them
    Aug 19, 2016 1:17 PM - Toro1966: Thanks D - looking at the links now.
Aug 19, 2016 1:18 PM - danzca6: nice...I would love to see a video of that in action when you are done
Aug 19, 2016 1:20 PM - Bill Monroe: be awhile.. gotta get the mill dialed in

Aug 19, 2016 1:21 PM - danzca6: Well...Rogue Squadron is coming up...so Star Wars will be all the buzz again
Aug 19, 2016 1:22 PM - danzca6: That is, if your buddy is still wanting his custom door
Aug 19, 2016 1:22 PM - Bill Monroe: i may make it for the shop, just as a display piece

    Aug 19, 2016 1:23 PM - danzca6: well. the han solo one
    Aug 19, 2016 1:23 PM - Bill Monroe: trees
Aug 19, 2016 1:24 PM - Bill Monroe: only thing is.. black doors dont do well in the desert
Aug 19, 2016 1:24 PM - Bill Monroe: i'll have a door to my office but that's too geeky for me
    Aug 19, 2016 1:25 PM - danzca6: no they are a yuccas
Aug 19, 2016 1:25 PM - Bill Monroe: maybe the door to the auto-closet
    Aug 19, 2016 1:25 PM - Bill Monroe: yuck-ahs
Aug 19, 2016 1:28 PM - Toro1966: Did it manually just now out of necessity. My son is making a prop ( I am printing it for him) we were almost completely out of blue filament mid-print. I just paused, raised the z, primed, reloaded, and resumed printing. I'll post pics shortly. I wish there was an automatic way to do it, but there is no simple way in S3D - the code is perhaps the easiest - I just need to figure that out.
Aug 19, 2016 1:32 PM - danzca6: hmmm, I think I remember that there might be a filament change command on the LCD with the RC7 firmware...but I might have been dreaming that
    Aug 19, 2016 1:32 PM - danzca6: will have to check later
    Aug 19, 2016 1:33 PM - Toro1966: Can't find it on my lcd

    Aug 19, 2016 1:34 PM - danzca6: so an M600 command
Aug 19, 2016 1:35 PM - danzca6: all just theory though since I don't know anyone who has tried it on the Robo
Aug 19, 2016 1:36 PM - danzca6: Hey that worked pretty well for you
Aug 19, 2016 1:37 PM - Toro1966: Thanks. Not bad since I did it on the spur of the moment out of necessity. Lol. I just didn't want to ruin a 5 hour print :)
Aug 19, 2016 1:38 PM - danzca6: necessity is the mother of invention
Aug 19, 2016 1:38 PM - Bill Monroe: That machine is too clean
    Aug 19, 2016 1:38 PM - Bill Monroe: I think that print is a photoshop job :)
    Aug 19, 2016 1:38 PM - Toro1966: lol. I am rather - er - meticulous - thought my wife says retentive, I like my word better :)
Aug 19, 2016 1:42 PM - Toro1966: Lol. I wish I had those photoshop skills. I am still trying to figure out this 3d prinitnig thing.
Aug 19, 2016 3:31 PM - Toro1966: Ok - need help. Trying to remove the fan holder so I can do the dual fan mod. I know there are only two screws that hold it on. The problem is, whatever clown at the company put the front screw in, they either cross threaded it or the mount is bad - because when I go to turn the screw, the captive nut just turns and turns. The back screw comes out fine. It's the front screw that just turns. Any thoughts on how to fix this? I can't get anything on
    Aug 19, 2016 3:45 PM - danzca6: And a needle nose won't grab the nut
Aug 19, 2016 3:47 PM - Toro1966: nope. sitting too low in the seat
    Aug 19, 2016 3:47 PM - Toro1966: the nut that is
Aug 19, 2016 3:49 PM - danzca6: So the back is out... Do you have the quick release plate
    Aug 19, 2016 3:50 PM - danzca6: Oh yes
Aug 19, 2016 3:50 PM - danzca6: Can you pull the quick release plate out
Aug 19, 2016 3:51 PM - danzca6: Make sure your hotend doesn't drop off you can pull it out
Aug 19, 2016 3:51 PM - Toro1966: Yes - which gave me some room - but the problem is some as hat at the factory screwed it in at an angle and it is not going anywhere!!!!
Aug 19, 2016 3:53 PM - danzca6: Well... The plate is out now?
Aug 19, 2016 3:54 PM - danzca6: If you have another m4 bolt and nut you could take a dremel and cut the bolt
Aug 19, 2016 3:55 PM - danzca6: Not sure how much room you have
Aug 19, 2016 3:58 PM - Toro1966: Problem is that gets the bolt out but does not fix the fact that now the captive nut will not be captive anymore. I assume I can reprint that base?
Aug 19, 2016 4:00 PM - Toro1966: Nope, plate is not out. Do you happen to know what the size of that nut and bolt are? M4 x ?
    Aug 19, 2016 4:01 PM - danzca6: 24 should work
    Aug 19, 2016 4:01 PM - danzca6: 24mm
Aug 19, 2016 4:01 PM - danzca6: Might be a little long but will work
    Aug 19, 2016 4:02 PM - danzca6: Man
Aug 19, 2016 4:03 PM - danzca6: To bad you couldn't get it loose enough to remove the quick release plate
Aug 19, 2016 4:06 PM - Toro1966: The quick release plate is loose. But I still have to get this screw out to install the dual fans and also I have to remove the assembly otherwise I will never be able to tighten it back up because the captive part of the plastic is stripped and a new nut will just spin - make sense?
    Aug 19, 2016 4:08 PM - danzca6: Yeah
    Aug 19, 2016 4:08 PM - danzca6: Well... Crap
Aug 19, 2016 4:08 PM - danzca6: You could print another base for the Greg's wade... But what a PITA
    Aug 19, 2016 4:09 PM - danzca6: Oh
Aug 19, 2016 4:10 PM - danzca6: Pick up a bit longer bolt maybe and put in some washers to raise the nut for reassembly
Aug 19, 2016 4:10 PM - danzca6: Look like crap but will at least let you tighten it
Aug 19, 2016 4:15 PM - Toro1966: They have that base on thi8ngiverse? I am headed to Lowes to see if I can find the screw. Not hopeful for something that small...
Aug 19, 2016 4:17 PM - danzca6: Yes... Get mine from true value or ace hardware if you have one near

Aug 19, 2016 7:42 PM - danzca6: So that code is from Robo Twitter
Aug 19, 2016 7:42 PM - danzca6: Are they clearing house to get ready for r2?

Aug 19, 2016 7:50 PM - danzca6: Hey NFO are you going to the maker faire this year again? If so, maybe we can meet up there
Aug 19, 2016 7:55 PM - Geof: I saw that deal on Twitter almost had another one coming lol. Great price
Aug 19, 2016 8:09 PM - danzca6: Yeah... Trying to remember who was looking for a refurbished one the other day
Aug 19, 2016 8:10 PM - danzca6: Geof you should make your next printer
Aug 19, 2016 8:12 PM - danzca6: I should have bold faced that so others see it tomorrow
Aug 19, 2016 8:22 PM - Geof: Lol I've already made one. It's currently in pieces for upgrades
Aug 19, 2016 8:24 PM - danzca6: What kind did you make? Own design or a kit?
Aug 19, 2016 8:28 PM - Geof: I copied most of the robo. It was built to do all my tpu work :)
    Aug 19, 2016 8:29 PM - danzca6: oh ok...yeah I have enough spare parts to build a second robo
Aug 19, 2016 8:30 PM - danzca6: wondering what to print with this tonight
Aug 19, 2016 8:30 PM - Geof: I did my first run cheap, under 250.00. I'm putting a robo bed on it and going to build an enclosure so it can use up the rest of my shitty abs I was given then back to flex materials for the rest of its days lol
Aug 19, 2016 8:31 PM - Geof: Print with ur robo?
    Aug 19, 2016 8:32 PM - danzca6: yes...to do a side by side compare
Aug 19, 2016 8:32 PM - Geof: Ah Gotya. My first was the benchy lol. But that's not real fun
    Aug 19, 2016 8:33 PM - danzca6: I haven't done a benchy yet...do they float?
Aug 19, 2016 8:33 PM - danzca6: maybe I can give it to my godchild for bath time afterwards
Aug 19, 2016 8:35 PM - Geof: Lol idk if they float. I had an army of them but my nieces took the entire box ha.
    Aug 19, 2016 8:36 PM - danzca6: haha...yeah that sounds about right...these things are toy makers in a child's eyes
Aug 19, 2016 8:43 PM - Toro1966: Ok - what a night. Thanks as always to Danzca, Geof, and Mark. I went to Lowes, got a new screw and nut, cut off the old one, and used washers as Danzca suggested to reattached above the captive nut location. Doesn't look as bad as I thought, and both fans are installed.
Aug 19, 2016 8:44 PM - Toro1966: One question. Trying a test print now and it is printing fine, but the LCD says "endstops hit: z" at the bottom. Again, it's printing fine. What does that mean and is there a reason for it.
Aug 19, 2016 8:45 PM - Geof: Lol danzca I can't complain about making toys lol that's about 50% of my work lately lol that and model houses for train collector lol
Aug 19, 2016 8:46 PM - Geof: I would ignore it toro... Half the time mine says sleep lol
Aug 19, 2016 8:46 PM - danzca6: ALRIGHT!!! Glad you got it going Toro
Aug 19, 2016 8:47 PM - danzca6: I was worried that it was going to turn into a big project and that is no fun
Aug 19, 2016 8:47 PM - danzca6: are your x endcaps sitting correctly on the z endstops? One isn't up a bit is it?
Aug 19, 2016 8:48 PM - Toro1966: lo. mine is now saying sleep. and the rror is gone haha
    Aug 19, 2016 8:48 PM - danzca6: Geof do you have a 3dhubs business going?
Aug 19, 2016 8:48 PM - danzca6: really? I thought Geof was joking about the sleep
Aug 19, 2016 8:49 PM - danzca6: I should pay attention to mine next print
Aug 19, 2016 8:51 PM - Geof: Lol no joke says z end stops hit then goes to sleep on the 2nd layer. It's so use to running all the time that it sleeps while at work ;-)
    Aug 19, 2016 8:52 PM - danzca6: haha
Aug 19, 2016 8:52 PM - Geof: No I shut off my 3D hubs. Do word of mouth and freebies left all over toget the word around. Print some stuff with a card with your email and thingiverse website and leave everywhere :)
Aug 19, 2016 8:52 PM - Toro1966: I need to try that! Something tells me the boss wouldn't like it! :)
    Aug 19, 2016 8:52 PM - Geof: Wouldn't like what ?
    Aug 19, 2016 8:53 PM - danzca6: sleeping while at work
    Aug 19, 2016 8:53 PM - Geof: Lol ;-) can't get caught
Aug 19, 2016 8:53 PM - danzca6: that's a good idea to put prints around like that...doing pokemon go characters?
Aug 19, 2016 8:56 PM - Geof: I was. Been on hold to play with sigma. I do flower pots to flower shops (printed solids idea), chip clips, bottle openers etc. Random stuff that everyone would use
    Aug 19, 2016 8:57 PM - danzca6: interesting
Aug 19, 2016 8:57 PM - Toro1966: Would love to see some of your stuff Geof. I'm hoping I can work my way up to printing decent quality stuff.
Aug 19, 2016 8:57 PM - Toro1966: I have a day job so this will always be a hobby. At least for a while :)
Aug 19, 2016 8:57 PM - Geof: Lol i have a thread in the mods an upgrades section of prints with my promethius
    Aug 19, 2016 8:58 PM - danzca6: yeah I like the candy machine
Aug 19, 2016 8:58 PM - Geof: Lol im a machine mechanic by day then run my printers at night.
Aug 19, 2016 8:58 PM - Geof: That was actually a pretty quick print. Maybe 15 hours total danz
    Aug 19, 2016 8:59 PM - Toro1966: Nice!
Aug 19, 2016 9:00 PM - danzca6: so are you seeing any improvements with the dual fans Toro?
Aug 19, 2016 9:00 PM - Toro1966: Actually just starting my first print. They are extremely quiet. Can't really tell how much more air they put out. They definitely cover more area because of the front and read fans.
Aug 19, 2016 9:01 PM - Geof: Best upgrade for pla prints there is :) i run ducts so curious how the open design does

Aug 19, 2016 at 9:02 PM - danzca6: yeah those fans are nice quality fans...probably both running is quieter than the one stock fan
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:02 PM - Toro1966: Interested myself. Are there any ducts for the 10mm dual setup?
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:02 PM - danzca6: oh yeah
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:02 PM - Toro1966: They are quiet. You literally can't tell when they turn on over the stoick extruder fan.
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:03 PM - danzca6: you should upgrade that to a 30mm someday
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:04 PM - danzca6: Toro you are running the stock hex right
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:05 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1564197
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:05 PM - Geof: Yes but I havedanz
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:06 PM - Geof: Blah typo. Danz your using a 30 not a 40?
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:06 PM - Toro1966: I thought about upgrading it to a 30mm. Is there a mount for it that works with the dual fans and the stock hex - yes - I'm running a stock hex. I imagine it won't be long before I go E3D, but this one is working pretty nicely so far.
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:06 PM - danzca6: oh I was referring to replacing the 25mm hotend fan with a better quality 30mm
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:07 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:871343
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:07 PM - Geof: Danz I run 2 40s for parts fans and a 40 on the cold end :) 1 fan for all locations
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:08 PM - danzca6: That one is by WheresWaldo from this site and a remix of Mike Kelly's
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:08 PM - danzca6: 40 on the cold end?
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:08 PM - Toro1966: lol - I printed those nozzles out but didn't have that good picture to show me how to put it together. Ha ha. I'll take this apart tomorrow again and add them!
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:08 PM - Geof: Yes'm
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:09 PM - Geof: Instead of a 20 or 30
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:09 PM - danzca6: pic?
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:09 PM - Toro1966: What's the cold end?
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:09 PM - Geof: Yea one sec
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:09 PM - Toro1966: oh for the extruder
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:09 PM - Toro1966: got it
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:10 PM - danzca6: Toto, note that those shrouds might be a bit different than the ones you printed
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:11 PM - Geof: Yes toro on the extruder. The fan is cooling the cold end (above heater block)
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:11 PM - danzca6: or did you print these http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:821080
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:11 PM - Geof: Danz pic sent
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:12 PM - danzca6: oh that's of course with your V6...did all that and doesn't look to be pushing out the side to much
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:12 PM - danzca6: did you have to adjust your x stop
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:13 PM - danzca6: oh wait you put it on the other side
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:13 PM - danzca6: clever
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:13 PM - Geof: No sir. I have it on the other side.
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:13 PM - Geof: Yes with the v6.
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:13 PM - danzca6: did you find that mount on thingiverse
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:14 PM - Geof: Yea ill find it
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:14 PM - Toro1966: These are the ones I printed http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037680
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:14 PM - danzca6: ah ok...there are so many
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:15 PM - Toro1966: Think they will work?
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:15 PM - danzca6: I don't see why not
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - Toro1966: Or do you think I need to print out waldo's?
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - danzca6: you have them printed so worth a try
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - Toro1966: Good point!
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - Geof: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:929326
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - Geof: By where's Waldo! I didn't notice that when I printed lol.
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - Toro1966: can one of you shoot me the link to print a new wades mount since mine is jacked up.
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - danzca6: Of course...how did I miss that
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:16 PM - danzca6: sure Toro
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:17 PM - Toro1966: Thanks!
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:18 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18379
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:18 PM - danzca6: you want the v3_jhead stl
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:19 PM - danzca6: I just printed this for another user here and they said it worked great from them
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:19 PM - danzca6: sucks to break your only printer and can't print a replacement
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:19 PM - Toro1966: looks like there are a couple of those
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:19 PM - Toro1966: V3_jhead
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:20 PM - Toro1966: My son has one upstairs so I'll make him do it :)
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:20 PM - Toro1966: Plus mine is currently printing a seahawks light switchplate - what better way to check if it works :)
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:20 PM - danzca6: oh that's right
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:20 PM - Geof: lol! Now that's a robo house!
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:20 PM - danzca6: yeah...lucky
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:20 PM - Toro1966: printing it in PLA should be good - right? Or do I need something stronger? What infill should I use?
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:21 PM - danzca6: PLA should be fine if that is what you have
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:21 PM - Geof: lol danz 600.00 buddy :)
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:22 PM - danzca6: I know...I still can't believe that
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:22 PM - Toro1966: He paid 400 for his :)
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:22 PM - Toro1966: On craigslsit
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:22 PM - danzca6: that's for a new R1+ from Robo right now
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:22 PM - Geof: Nice! This is from robo for a new r1+
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:22 PM - Toro1966: looked brand new. It had the temp fall issue and he didn't want to make it work
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:23 PM - Toro1966: Excellent for a new one!
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:23 PM - danzca6: I think I might have done 50% infill on that Toro
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:24 PM - Geof: Lol I had to stop buying printers on Craigslist. Lady had printer overload for awhile lol. She's ok... Until the next one ;-)
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:24 PM - Toro1966: got it - 50%. Well thanks everybody - i'm pooped. Going to hit the pit! Have a great evening and we'll talk toyou tomorrow.
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:24 PM - danzca6: jonaskuehling_gregs-wade-v3_jhead-BODY-ONLY.stl
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:24 PM - Toro1966: Thanks againf or all of thge help!
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:24 PM - Geof: 50% is more than enough. I ran 1mm thick walls, 20% infill and still going strong :)
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:24 PM - danzca6: that's the stl you need if just the body
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:25 PM - Toro1966: Got it. Just downloaded it. Excellent. Goingt o print it tomorrow.
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:25 PM - danzca6: take care Toro
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:25 PM - Geof: See ya toro
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:27 PM - Geof: Danz how do you like the interface vs the other? Everything making sense?
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:28 PM - danzca6: getting there...I do like it
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:28 PM - danzca6: Getting pooped though so might pick it up again in the morning
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:29 PM - Geof: I don't blame ya. I've got about 5 more hours yet lol grader the next rounds of prints going
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:29 PM - danzca6: you sleep much? haha
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:30 PM - danzca6: don't like that I can't drag and drop an stl from file explorer into it
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:30 PM - danzca6: got used to that with the other
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:31 PM - Geof: lol I was the same way, it was a bit of a let down
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:31 PM - danzca6: I'll get used to it
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:32 PM - danzca6: well...going to read some and then hit the sack...got to get up and make breakfast for everyone tomorrow and my son never sleeps past 6
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:32 PM - Geof: I put everything in downloads then just do a search when I go to import then bam lol
    Aug 19, 2016 at 9:33 PM - danzca6: oh...good idea...I'll try that
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:38 PM - Geof: Ok buddy see ya later, have a good night
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:40 PM - danzca6: take it easy Geof and get some sleep
Aug 19, 2016 at 9:42 PM - Geof: Lol will do
    Aug 19, 2016 at 10:22 PM - 0ryanx: Anyone left in here?
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:38 AM - Bill Monroe: morning
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:07 AM - Gaurhoth: So is it relatively common for Robo3d R1+ to be significantly underextruding with default settings? When I extrude 100mm, I measure out 11.6mm short
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:18 AM - danzca6: That really isn't too bad of a variance. I've seen them either way. That is why it is always best to do a calibration and even a PID tuning of a printer to just make sure that the estimated defaults are dialed in correctly.
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:21 AM - Gaurhoth: Yea, I'm working out the math now to adjust the steps.
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:21 AM - Gaurhoth: I had noticed that my top layers where caving in and never forming a solid top.

Aug 20, 2016 at 9:21 AM - Gaurhoth: bottom layer was suspect too, but as it's squished a bit more, it comes out okay
    Aug 20, 2016 at 9:24 AM - Gaurhoth: I should change it to (723.38*100)/(100-11.6) = 818.30
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:24 AM - Gaurhoth: If I'm understanding this right
    Aug 20, 2016 at 9:24 AM - danzca6: oh math on a weekend? haha...yeah that looks right
    Aug 20, 2016 at 9:25 AM - Gaurhoth: And M92 E818.30
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:25 AM - Gaurhoth: is the command I'd put in the gcode near the start I suppose.
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:25 AM - danzca6: you can actually change it in the firmware and then reload the firmware with that value
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:26 AM - Gaurhoth: Yea I was looking at the marlin eeprom editor with octoprint.
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:26 AM - Gaurhoth: not sure if that's what I should be doing or if I should be compiling the code again
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:27 AM - danzca6: for now, do the temporary command...if that works with the new value...then make it perm with the firmware change
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:30 AM - danzca6: are you using Tom's guide to do the calibration
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:31 AM - Bill Monroe: morning
    Aug 20, 2016 at 9:32 AM - danzca6:
    Aug 20, 2016 at 9:32 AM - danzca6: morning Bill
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:32 AM - Bill Monroe: Dan
    Aug 20, 2016 at 9:34 AM - Gaurhoth: I was reading https://www.matterhackers.com/articles/how-to-calibrate-your-extruder
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:35 AM - danzca6: hate to have to run, but I'm getting pulled into house cleaning...bbl....happy wife happy life
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:35 AM - Gaurhoth: have fun!
Aug 20, 2016 at 9:35 AM - Gaurhoth: Morning Bill
Aug 20, 2016 at 10:46 AM - Gaurhoth: Wow, getting that extruder calibrated made a HUGE difference in the tops/bottoms
Aug 20, 2016 at 10:46 AM - Gaurhoth: I can actually print something at 20-25% infill and not have holes falling in the top
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:06 AM - danzca6: <HI5>
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:08 AM - Gaurhoth: making a rather lengthy calibration checklist. lol
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:09 AM - Gaurhoth: Seems like my assumptions that a prebuilt printer would be easier aren't necessarily true. Still having to learn just as much as if I'd built the thing.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:15 AM - danzca6: yeah they need some tlc to get dialed in just right. They are all shipped with defaults, but there are so many variables that go into those defaults. So it is easy to have them out of the perfect spec when they arrive.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:15 AM - danzca6: Some printer companies include a couple sample prints from the printer you are actually receiving showing that they went through a QA process to ensure a good print day 1
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:16 AM - danzca6: not sure if Robo does that. I bought a refurbished robo and didn't have any prints included
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:16 AM - danzca6: Personally I think that would be a good practice for them
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:16 AM - Gaurhoth: No there was nothing in the robo. I bought it new.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:17 AM - Gaurhoth: and based on my experience with my first prints - I'd definitely say they just assemble and configure defaults and ship
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:17 AM - danzca6: on the same side, it is always best to check things over yourself and learn how things work. If not needed day 1 you might need it 3 mo down the road
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:18 AM - Gaurhoth: Yea I don't mind learning... just wasn't prepared for how much learning I would have to do :) Now that things are settling in, I'm less frustrated. The warped bed really threw me out of sorts tho because I wasn't sharp enough to realize that was an issue
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:18 AM - Gaurhoth: and it seemed that every time I tried to change something like z offset, etc to fix one thing, it just made it worse on the next print
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:18 AM - Gaurhoth: So far I'm not having that issue with the new bed
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Gaurhoth: So I've learned to level X and Y Axis. Learned how to dial in my Z offset. Learned to calibrate my extruder to fix my underextrusion...
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Gaurhoth: and temp calibration...
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:19 AM - Gaurhoth: wondering what's next for me to fix. lol
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:20 AM - danzca6: haha...you know it reminds me of the days of a engines coming with carbs or better yet dual carbs...always need to dial the machine in...haha.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:20 AM - Gaurhoth: I have had more successful prints in the last 24 hours than previous 3 months I've had the unit
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:20 AM - danzca6: I am glad to hear that
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:21 AM - danzca6: what are you using for printing your models? MatterControl?
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:21 AM - Gaurhoth: printing parts for a filament box now. My basement's humidity isn't as controlled as I'd like, so rigging it up to feed spool from a sealed box with dessicant
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:21 AM - danzca6: good idea...I have one myself
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:22 AM - Gaurhoth: I'm using simplify3d. I just sprang for it after reading good things with it.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:22 AM - Gaurhoth: The learning curve on that when I didn't really understand everything was formidable :)
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:22 AM - Gaurhoth: but the worflow is solid and it's really all starting to click now.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:23 AM - Gaurhoth: I slice in S3D and have a curl command line in the post processing script that dumps it out to Octoprint for printing.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:23 AM - danzca6: yeah, that seems to be a good upgrade for quality prints
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:23 AM - danzca6: nice
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:23 AM - danzca6: I use this in my filament box https://amzn.com/B000H0XFCS
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:23 AM - danzca6: another tweak you can look at in the future is your firmware settings for acceleration and such
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:24 AM - danzca6: makes a bit of difference on quality as well
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:24 AM - Gaurhoth: Yea, I've seen some others comment on that.I'll probably snag one. Right now I just throw every bag of dessicant I get from anything into my storage box.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:24 AM - danzca6: the defaults are too heigh IMO
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:24 AM - Gaurhoth: But with my volume of prints... a spool can sit on the printer for weeks/months and that's what I don't like. I have one spool of PLA that sat on teh printer for awhile and it seems fubarr'd right now.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:24 AM - Gaurhoth: 'm going to try drying it but fix the problem permanently
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:25 AM - danzca6: yeah...my dad lives down near Orlando and has had his filament just sitting out with no issues, but he isn't in a basement and they love the A/C down there
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:25 AM - Gaurhoth: Altho now that my printer is working better, maybe the spools won't sit for so long. lol
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:26 AM - Gaurhoth: Yea, I'm in Ohio and it rains during late summer a lot... and the basement is probably in the 40-50% humidity range. The box I keep the filament is normally at 25% as long as I keep the top on.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:27 AM - Gaurhoth: on rainy days hum will get higher because room dehumidifier struggles to keep up
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:28 AM - danzca6: I hear you...I am in the basement in a house in IL and we get plenty of rainy days here
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:28 AM - danzca6: http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?threads/filament-storage-box-diy.7879/
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:29 AM - danzca6: That is the thread I took some queues from for my filament box
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:29 AM - Gaurhoth: Hopefully I can get things dialed in and start printing some moderately detailed stuff. My daughter is begging me to print some figurine type stuff for her. I keep telling her I'm a LONG way from doing well with that... but eventually
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:30 AM - danzca6: sooner than you think...you've come a long way in 3 mo
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:32 AM - Gaurhoth: Gonna review that thread. An analog hygrometer... is actually not a bad idea. I was over engineering it and thinking about throwing together a sensor and esp8266 (arduino-like chip with wifi) in there. While cool - it has complications like powering it
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:32 AM - Gaurhoth: but I may still do it... graphing the humidity temp over time would be completely useless but neat
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:35 AM - danzca6: hahha...I hear you....I live in a world of "data is king" for a living and love tracking stuff like that
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:37 AM - Gaurhoth: Yea, similar here. IT Architect for a company that has multiple SAAS offerings.
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:38 AM - Gaurhoth: I sometimes think we spend more money on analytics tools than on actually hosting our offerings
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:39 AM - danzca6: Yep I am in IT for a major health system in the area....everything is digital these days
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:47 AM - Geof: Filament box ???
Aug 20, 2016 at 11:52 AM - danzca6: yeah...well some of us have filament rolls that last more than a weekend
    Aug 20, 2016 at 11:55 AM - Gaurhoth: heh
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:08 PM - Geof: more than a weekend! just send em to me ;) lol. I have alot of inventory but I put the spool in a 1 gallon ziplock with the desicant it came with then it goes back in the box and on the shelf.
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:09 PM - Geof: What do you use ? Are you putting them in something with a lid? The spools loose? maybe I need to redo my inventory set up
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:09 PM - danzca6: look at the link above
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:09 PM - danzca6: I use something like that
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:13 PM - Geof: Interesting. I dont think i could make that work. My setup is crowded but the box and rarely used spools may do better than the baggie
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:14 PM - danzca6: man...now I feel like printing a taco truck
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:15 PM - Geof: Lol i saw that too.. ill wait for the pva material before i waste all that filament on sulports with that model.
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:15 PM - danzca6:
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:16 PM - Geof: I may need a trailer attachment to hold the other 5 tacos lol
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:16 PM - danzca6: <HI5>
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:16 PM - danzca6: man...now I need to go to taco bell
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:17 PM - Geof: Lol! Start the print before you go lol
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:17 PM - danzca6: just had a big ol' BELT for lunch...it was delicious...but this made me hungry again
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:19 PM - Geof: Pizza down here. Got to go to elpaso illinois today for a party so had to get the grease in before the beer lol
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:20 PM - danzca6: haha...nothing like grease and beer to get things going
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:20 PM - Geof: Thats right ;-) lol. No printing until tomorrow after 4 lol
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:28 PM - daniel871: Monoprice has a delta kit now. http://www.monoprice.com/mobile/product/details/15840
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:30 PM - Geof: Nice. Pretty fair price. I keep wanting to buy one but the width of the printing area just isnt there
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:39 PM - danzca6: It's not always the girth...sometimes it's the length
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:40 PM - danzca6: daniel, when is your delta coming?
Aug 20, 2016 at 12:40 PM - Geof: Lmao. Now i just feel bad lol
    Aug 20, 2016 at 12:41 PM - danzca6: haha
    Aug 20, 2016 at 3:01 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1156565
Aug 20, 2016 at 4:11 PM - Geof: Lol thats funny
    Aug 20, 2016 at 4:14 PM - danzca6:
Aug 20, 2016 at 4:15 PM - danzca6: Great video by Tom for firmware

Aug 20, 2016 at 4:54 PM - danzca6: Tom is great... He is doing another live stream putting a delta together this weekend. He can be pretty funny when he is off script
Aug 20, 2016 at 5:50 PM - daniel871: My delta is theoretically coming in the end of September.
Aug 20, 2016 at 5:51 PM - daniel871: I asked them to wait until at least then to ship mine as I'm still working on getting the shop building insulated/etc.
Aug 20, 2016 at 5:51 PM - daniel871: Big hold up is on upgrading the roll up doors to insulated doors.
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:00 PM - danzca6: nice...that won't be too long away
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:03 PM - danzca6: Can you just buy those insulation kits for the doors?
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:05 PM - Bill Monroe: i put rigid foam sheets in mine.. done.
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:06 PM - danzca6: yeah...that is a good quick option
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:06 PM - Bill Monroe: effective too..
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:06 PM - danzca6: ideed
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:06 PM - Bill Monroe: hot-glued some Tyvek to the inside of the door for some additional barrier
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:07 PM - Bill Monroe: made it real quiet when it's operating... easy to sneak in from late nights out :)
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:08 PM - danzca6: I upgraded my door from some 25 yr old steel rollers to nylon rollers last week and it is super smooth and quiet now
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:08 PM - Bill Monroe: <hi-5>
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:08 PM - danzca6: daughters room is above the garage...so I would always wake her on the way out to work
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:10 PM - Bill Monroe: oh gawd
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:10 PM - Bill Monroe: just got a text from 2.0.. she and her possie decided to do some shopping..
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:11 PM - danzca6: fashion show when the get back?
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:11 PM - Bill Monroe: heh maybe...
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:12 PM - Bill Monroe: well, the jacuzzi is hot, there's wine and fruit in the cooler... I did my part
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:13 PM - danzca6: haha...that works
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:13 PM - Bill Monroe: my son's finacee went with them today.. she was uber excited
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:13 PM - danzca6: you probably don't need a towel warmer there...we have one for ours since the evenings are getting cooler
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:14 PM - Bill Monroe: oh gads.. it's 85 right now..
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:14 PM - danzca6: 64 and falling for us
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:15 PM - Bill Monroe: it was 121 in Palm Springs last weekend.. 85 makes me think about a sweater :)
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:16 PM - danzca6: it's all about perspective...amazing what you get used to
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:16 PM - Bill Monroe: yup. I love the hot weather really.. take the dogs out for a hike at 3 am and it's lovely
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:17 PM - danzca6: yeah cold has it's drawbacks...like people wanting to put more clothes on right ;)
Aug 20, 2016 at 6:33 PM - Bill Monroe: or... large fires, cold night, and a rabbit-fur rug... :)
    Aug 20, 2016 at 6:37 PM - danzca6: just like Hefner

Aug 21, 2016 at 6:55 AM - Gaurhoth: so can the stock end on the robo3d R1+ handle nylon (specifically something like Taulman 910) without modifications or do I need to look to upgrade the hotend?
Aug 21, 2016 at 6:56 AM - Gaurhoth: From what I'm reading it's technically 'supported' since it's an all metal hotend, but I guess I'm more curious if it's 'realistic'
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:17 AM - danzca6: Man Tom is going for a marathon live stream today...been 9 hours so far putting together the Atom 2.0 Delta
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:22 AM - Bill Monroe: i find him tedious to listen to
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:26 AM - danzca6: super nice delta IMO
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:26 AM - danzca6: really?
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:27 AM - danzca6: well his normal videos are all scripted ahead of time
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:27 AM - danzca6: he fights his German accent
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:28 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. he inflection always sounds like everything he says was something he just discovered... and most of it is old, well known tech..
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:29 AM - danzca6: so a bit more flat, but I think he has gotten better
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:30 AM - Bill Monroe: its a damn sight better than that techie wierdo that used to do videos
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:33 AM - Bill Monroe: nerdgasminc or something
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:33 AM - danzca6: Just realized that printrbot now sells there fully assembled printers at the same price as their kits
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:34 AM - danzca6: Tom was saying they pretty much spend the money users save on the kits in support calls for assembly...makes sense
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:35 AM - danzca6: I'd prefer a kit over prebuilt just for the fun of assembly
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:35 AM - Bill Monroe: design one from scratch...
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - danzca6: Been looking at a kit car purchase...that would be a lot of fun for my kids and I to put together
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - Bill Monroe: ya! I did that
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - danzca6: Agreed Bill
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - danzca6: working on that ;)
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - danzca6: you did
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - Bill Monroe: impossible to do now in Krapifornia
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:36 AM - danzca6: what did you build
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:37 AM - Bill Monroe: i build an VIntage MG-Style (but not a replica) first on a VW pan, then from scratch-build chomemoly tube
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:38 AM - danzca6: yeah I can imagine. Friend of mine years ago did a Cobra and actually had to go to Cali to get it licensed...that is the hard part I guess is to get it licensed. But the smog stuff gets in the way as well I bet in Cali
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:38 AM - danzca6: I like the MGs
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:38 AM - danzca6: my pastor has 3 right now
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:38 AM - Bill Monroe: the cobra kits have a horrible time with the exhaust burning your feet
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:38 AM - danzca6: http://www.factoryfive.com/kits/33-hot-rod/
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:39 AM - danzca6: this is the one I am looking at
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:39 AM - Bill Monroe: the only way to do kit car her now is to modify an existing car (like a Model A into a rod) or to make one with 3 wheels so it's considered a motorcycle
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:40 AM - Bill Monroe: then you have to follow the emissions rules of the original car
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:40 AM - Bill Monroe: build one from scratch? stick with electric
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:40 AM - Bill Monroe: there's a guy using a hanger at the airport to operate a club that electrifies former gas cars
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:40 AM - danzca6: Will have to sell a couple other cars to make room in the garage for assembly....that is the hard part. I am trying to talk to my uncle who has a lot of empty shop space to see if I can build it there
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:40 AM - Bill Monroe: they just finished a porch 914
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:42 AM - danzca6: I like the gas engines too much to have an electric engine in a sports car....just feels wrong
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:43 AM - Bill Monroe: id like to put a kubota tractor engine in my model A
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:43 AM - danzca6: haha...do it!
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:44 AM - Bill Monroe: heh cant they use the engine as a frame too
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:44 AM - Bill Monroe: maybe a yanmar diesel
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:44 AM - Bill Monroe: if I could fit a 40 horse hit-miss I'd do it in a heartbeat
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:45 AM - Bill Monroe: maybe an isetta with a 6-pack of lawnmower briggs engines
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:45 AM - danzca6: to many options...so little time
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:46 AM - Bill Monroe: I want something super silly but uber reliabl to tool around the basin up here
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:46 AM - Bill Monroe: Honda gold-wing 6 cyl in the A?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:47 AM - danzca6: nice
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:47 AM - Bill Monroe: smooth and quiet
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:48 AM - Bill Monroe: theres a guy who put a mazda 13B in an A.. 87 mph!
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:48 AM - danzca6: I pass a guy on a boss hoss each day coming home from work. He used to be my neighbor...big guy with a bleached mowhawk...I laugh everytime I see him. I told him he needs more gold chains around his neck
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:48 AM - Bill Monroe: had to be scarry as hell
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:49 AM - danzca6: on factory wheels and tires...yeah
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:50 AM - Bill Monroe: surprisingly, mine handles the freeway very nicely
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:52 AM - danzca6: did you see jay leno's recent video with a guy that brought in his model T
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:53 AM - Bill Monroe: i dont think so
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:53 AM - danzca6: it was a good watch
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:53 AM - Bill Monroe: Ts have too many issues
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:54 AM - danzca6: It's still awesome to see them on the road
    Aug 21, 2016 at 10:55 AM - Bill Monroe: that's a rod.. just looks like a T now
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:55 AM - Bill Monroe: the original.. it's a beast to live with
Aug 21, 2016 at 10:58 AM - danzca6: bbl...son wants to go out an shoot hoops
Aug 21, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Bill Monroe: CNC MIll upgrade accomplished
Aug 21, 2016 at 1:26 PM - Toro1966: Does anyone have a better solution to the zip tie that holds the wire loom to the top of the Robo? I searched thingiverse but can't find anything.
Aug 21, 2016 at 2:32 PM - Bill Monroe: design yourself a hook that will hang from the slot above and hold the cable high... make it so it will slide left and right, print it, and then show it off to your girlfreind
Aug 21, 2016 at 2:33 PM - Bill Monroe: you cant find the solution to everything on Thingiverse :)
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:24 PM - danzca6: Toro I have one...sec
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:25 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:990383
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:26 PM - danzca6: Use the top that uses the screw holes and forget about the slot...pita...having it fixed works better after using both
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:27 PM - danzca6: Bill...my girlfriend loved it btw ;)
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:29 PM - danzca6: Or better yet Toro...start looking at a wire chain solution ... I can suggest one of those as well when you want to go down that path
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:32 PM - Toro1966: Excellent! Never worked with the chain link. I know I can search for it, but do you have a quick link to one that is plug and play for the R1+ that I could print?
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:33 PM - Toro1966: Doing the bridge torture test now. FIrst couple of layers of the bridge were not smooth. Does that mean I am going to fast?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:33 PM - Toro1966: I'll post pics when it's done.
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:33 PM - danzca6: there are a couple good ones. For the actual chain, there is a real slick one that doesn't need you to do any rewiring
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:33 PM - danzca6: how fast are you going
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:34 PM - danzca6: have you printed the plane again?
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:35 PM - danzca6: while i was browsing I found this as well...makes changing the filament a little easier if you care to try it ... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:889541
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:36 PM - Toro1966: Saw that for changing filament. Only afraid of durability. I was printing at 30mm/s ont he bridge. Pics coming shortly. Plane was next, but wanted to make sure I had everything else dialed in.
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:36 PM - danzca6: I like the chain on this...there is a better motor mount https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1091510
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:38 PM - danzca6: at .2 layer height, 30 should be slow enough
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:39 PM - danzca6: since you have my hole cover, you can print the accessory clip off of my other design to terminate the chain to the hole cover instead of drilling a mount into the lid making lid removal a pain http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1105170
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:39 PM - danzca6: still looking for the motor mount
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:41 PM - danzca6: oh, here is a good motor cover for starting the chain from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1154650
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:41 PM - Toro1966: I was doing .1 layer height. COuld that be my isse?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:41 PM - danzca6: could be
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:42 PM - danzca6: I guess I will wait to see your final print to see how bad
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:42 PM - Toro1966: I should have enough airflow - don't you think?
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:42 PM - danzca6: the quick filament changer has been used be several here without any issue. They all love it
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:42 PM - danzca6: good question
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:43 PM - danzca6: first, not sure what the cfm is off the top of my head for those quiet fans you installed
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:43 PM - danzca6: I think it might be a bit less than the stock
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:43 PM - danzca6: and you are pushing the air through shrouds which there seems to be two side of the fence about that
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:44 PM - danzca6: some say no shrouds some say shrouds are better...then there are those that say if using a shroud you should use a 40x20 instead of a 40x10 to get the air flow pushed through better
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:45 PM - danzca6: I am happy with mine, but would like to do the research myself someday to find out what works best for me
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:45 PM - Toro1966: http://noctua.at/en/nf-a4x10-flx/specification
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:45 PM - Toro1966: Might have to upgrade to 20's?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:45 PM - Toro1966: !
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:46 PM - danzca6: well, maybe, but I wouldn't rush out just yet
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:47 PM - danzca6: you might be ok with playing with settings

    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:48 PM - danzca6: do that print again at .2 at 50 mm.

Aug 21, 2016 at 3:48 PM - danzca6: You know...I have found at times that increasing the speed has helped with overhangs
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:48 PM - danzca6: I play with the speed on the LCD while it is printing
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:49 PM - danzca6: you know...that's not that bad for .1 and that big of a span
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:49 PM - danzca6: remember...that is what S3D supports are for :)
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:50 PM - Toro1966: true, I think I'll print two - both at .2 and one with supports.
    Aug 21, 2016 at 3:51 PM - Toro1966: Love S3D supports. They general;ly come off very easily
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:52 PM - danzca6: and the increase in speed helps get the filament stretch across and doesn't give it as much time to droop
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:57 PM - Toro1966: Interesting. I had heard that you need to go slower with overhangs and bridges.
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:58 PM - danzca6: well, experiment with it...that was just my experience
Aug 21, 2016 at 3:59 PM - danzca6: you have the LCD, so you can crank the speed up or down on the fly which makes it easy to play around
    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:03 PM - Toro1966: Very true
    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:03 PM - danzca6: ok...so your fans look to put out 4.8 CFM @ 4500 RPM compared to the stock 6.2 CFM @ 5K RPM
Aug 21, 2016 at 4:03 PM - Toro1966: printing two of them now. One with supports and at 30mm/s
Aug 21, 2016 at 4:03 PM - Toro1966: The other at 50mm/s with no supports.
    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:03 PM - Toro1966: both at .2
    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:03 PM - danzca6: the 20's I got will do 10.2 CFM at 8200 RPM
Aug 21, 2016 at 4:04 PM - danzca6: of course your's is like 17 DBA and stock around 12 DBA and the 20s about 27 DBA for the ones I got at least
Aug 21, 2016 at 4:04 PM - Toro1966: Can you shoot me the linkj to yours?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:05 PM - danzca6: sure

    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:05 PM - danzca6: not supper high quality
    Aug 21, 2016 at 4:06 PM - Toro1966: I bet they push a lot fo air.

Aug 21, 2016 at 4:19 PM - danzca6: don't jump into buying just yet...you might get pretty good results with what you have
Aug 21, 2016 at 4:52 PM - Toro1966: Excellent! Pics coming, but at .2 and moving at 50mm/s, it came out perfect, without any supports! Pics in a sec

    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:11 PM - Toro1966: Very psyched about that!
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:12 PM - danzca6: does your son have any of these upgrades on his Robo yet?
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:12 PM - Toro1966: Learning a lot from you guys! Thanks!
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:13 PM - Toro1966: Not yet, I think I'm the guinea pig :)
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:13 PM - danzca6: haha
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:13 PM - danzca6: well...when he sees this he is going to be wanting it
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:13 PM - danzca6: hey np Toro
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:13 PM - danzca6: that's what this forum is for
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:14 PM - danzca6: where did you get that model?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:14 PM - danzca6: want to give it a try
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:14 PM - Toro1966: Oh yeah! So just for comparison, here is the first bridge attempt. 30mm/s, .1mm layer height, no supports.
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:15 PM - Toro1966: [IMG]
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:15 PM - danzca6: bump the speed to 35 or 40 and see what happens
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:16 PM - Toro1966: Second attempt, .30mm/s, .2mm layer, supports
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:16 PM - Toro1966: [IMG]
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:17 PM - Toro1966: Last attempt at 50mm/s, .2 layer, and no supports = PERFECT!!

Aug 21, 2016 at 5:18 PM - danzca6: is there any sag..height difference in the middle of the one without support?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:18 PM - Toro1966: Here's the ship Danzca - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1367142
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:18 PM - Toro1966: There is - just a smidge.
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:18 PM - Toro1966: But I can't believe it looks that good
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:18 PM - danzca6: yeah that's fantastic
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:18 PM - danzca6: what about the model for your bridge test?
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:19 PM - Toro1966: Here's the one in progress now. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:291123

    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:23 PM - danzca6: got it...thanks
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:25 PM - danzca6: hey quick tip...did you know you can search this forum with google by searching what you want and adding site:community.robo3d.com to the end of your search? They did an upgrade months ago that killed the ability for us to search for anything posted prior to that date
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:26 PM - danzca6: and..did you know that they archive everything said in the shoutbox in the archives forum here? helps a lot to find things that were said a long time ago, but you might have forgotten.
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:27 PM - Schlomo: yo
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:28 PM - danzca6: what's up Schlomo
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:28 PM - Schlomo: Nada, you?
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:28 PM - danzca6: enjoying what is left to the weekend
    Aug 21, 2016 at 5:36 PM - Toro1966: Didn't know that about the search - that's great!
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:43 PM - danzca6: yeah...I told Harry from Robo he should just have that tip on the search page since he messed up the update ;) I don't know if he messed it up but I like to give him some grief about it
Aug 21, 2016 at 5:47 PM - danzca6: hey guys...have to go help kids finish homework and make sure they get off to bed for school in the morning...I'll check back in a couple hours...cheers!
Aug 21, 2016 at 6:04 PM - danzca6: OK... So my son was watching this when I went upstairs and thought I would share. Neat design.
Aug 21, 2016 at 9:00 PM - danzca6: Wow...Robo still has their coupon code working for $200 off. So you can get the R1+ (new) and 2.3kg of filament for $599. Their refurbished R1+ is only $50 less than that.

Aug 21, 2016 9:04 PM - danzca6: robo200off in case anyone wants to use it
    Aug 22, 2016 6:14 AM - Bill Monroe: morning
Aug 22, 2016 6:40 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: damn 200 off that makes it cheaper than the prusa
    Aug 22, 2016 6:44 AM - danzca6: I know right...great deal for someone for a second one...of course...the prusa mk2 kit is very nice
    Aug 22, 2016 6:45 AM - daniel871: Shame that the Prusa MK2 is so much better on-paper.
Aug 22, 2016 6:47 AM - danzca6: yeah he came out with some great upgrades and comes default with Mesh leveling
    Aug 22, 2016 6:58 AM - Bill Monroe:
    Aug 22, 2016 7:27 AM - danzca6: Bill!!! Awesome...Sorry I couldn't view this earlier.
Aug 22, 2016 7:28 AM - danzca6: When you get back...I wonder how hard it would be to mill the y axis belt tensioners for the Robo out of aluminum?
    Aug 22, 2016 7:33 AM - danzca6: seeing chips fly on a CNC...it's a beautiful thing
Aug 22, 2016 7:39 AM - danzca6: Wonder what someone looks like when displaying true patriotism? https://www.yahoo.com/news/american-soldier-stopped-olympic-pole-014923210.html
Aug 22, 2016 7:41 AM - danzca6: I know not everyone is into the Olympics, but this guy did an awesome thing respecting his country

Aug 22, 2016 12:51 PM - Bill Monroe: I'm sure Hillary scoffed at it
    Aug 22, 2016 1:26 PM - daniel871: I'm sure Hillary doesn't give a shit one way or the other.
Aug 22, 2016 2:43 PM - Ryan TeGantvoort: I see there is a new lock feature for threads
    Aug 22, 2016 3:36 PM - danzca6: ?
    Aug 22, 2016 3:36 PM - danzca6: oh on the forum
    Aug 22, 2016 3:37 PM - danzca6: I think that has been there
    Aug 22, 2016 5:33 PM - toymaker: hiyas
    Aug 22, 2016 5:43 PM - danzca6: hey toy
    Aug 22, 2016 5:43 PM - danzca6: school back in season?
Aug 22, 2016 6:00 PM - toymaker: not for me... i teach for a non profit
    Aug 22, 2016 6:07 PM - Toro1966: Well - new fans and led's yesterday...took it all apart today - lol
Aug 22, 2016 6:08 PM - Toro1966: The leds took themselves off. I should have known they wouldn't stick. I've used several sets of those and they all have the same issue
Aug 22, 2016 6:09 PM - Toro1966: So I used some carpet tape and that should make it stick great. Didn't want to glue it. I also don't like the fans at all. They look good and they are quiet. But they don't blow for anything. DANZCA - you said 20's will fit on the mount - correct? I do not plan on using nozzles, just the dual mount with the fans angled like stock.
    Aug 22, 2016 6:14 PM - Toro1966: '
Aug 22, 2016 6:20 PM - Toro1966: got to find the link to thsoe 20mm fans
Aug 22, 2016 6:29 PM - Toro1966: Any thoughts on running 20mm fans? Any quiet ones?
Aug 22, 2016 6:29 PM - danzca6: The 20 may not fit on the stock fan block
Aug 22, 2016 6:30 PM - danzca6: Those are more for using with the black widow shrouds
    Aug 22, 2016 6:30 PM - Toro1966: thinigverse
    Aug 22, 2016 6:31 PM - danzca6: Black widow? Yes on Thingiverse
    Aug 22, 2016 6:31 PM - Toro1966: I could probably just use two stock 10s
Aug 22, 2016 6:32 PM - Toro1966: I hooked the stock fan and one other I bought from microcenter up today instead of the noctuas and without the shrouds. They definitely blew more air than the noctuas, but the one from microcenter was ridiculously loud. Not fan noise, but buzzing, etc - as if there was an issue with the bearing
    Aug 22, 2016 6:33 PM - Toro1966: So I intend to buy two more 10's or 2 20s to give it a shot
Aug 22, 2016 6:33 PM - Toro1966: Just not sure I can mount the 20's the same way as the 10s without the shrouds.
    Aug 22, 2016 6:33 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:821080
Aug 22, 2016 6:34 PM - danzca6: Yeah go 10s if using stock style mount
Aug 22, 2016 6:35 PM - danzca6: Or measure 10mm with one mounted and see where it will get you
Aug 22, 2016 6:42 PM - Toro1966: That's what I'm thinking I might do tomorrow. Mount two 10s in one mount to make it 20 to check fit
Aug 22, 2016 6:43 PM - Toro1966: Know of any good 10mm fans that actually push air and don't sound like an airplane.
Aug 22, 2016 6:45 PM - danzca6: Haha...I was just thinking about doubling two fans to check fit
Aug 22, 2016 6:46 PM - danzca6: The 10s linked to last night are the ones I use. Not too loud
Aug 22, 2016 6:47 PM - danzca6: Probably searching Amazon and keeping an I eye on the dBA and CFM ratings
    Aug 22, 2016 6:50 PM - Toro1966: Do they push a lot of air?
Aug 22, 2016 6:52 PM - danzca6: They do well...I don't have the comparisons in front of me at the moment
Aug 22, 2016 6:55 PM - Toro1966: Just went back in the archive to look at your fans. What a great feature. The archive.
    Aug 22, 2016 6:56 PM - danzca6: I know right
Aug 22, 2016 6:57 PM - danzca6: The link is also still up above if you scroll
    Aug 22, 2016 6:57 PM - Toro1966: Think I'm going to order the sunon 20s
    Aug 22, 2016 6:57 PM - Toro1966: Cool. Thanks.
Aug 22, 2016 6:58 PM - danzca6: Your son can have your hand me downs
    Aug 22, 2016 6:59 PM - Toro1966: Yup. He'll claim them.
    Aug 22, 2016 7:06 PM - danzca6: And I almost ordered a pair of fans you had
Aug 22, 2016 7:16 PM - Toro1966: They are nice and quiet but push very little air
Aug 22, 2016 7:17 PM - danzca6: Too bad really... Would be nice to have nice quiet fans
Aug 22, 2016 7:18 PM - Toro1966: Exactly. Just bought the sunon ones. They should be here Thursday.
    Aug 22, 2016 7:19 PM - danzca6: Nice
Aug 22, 2016 7:19 PM - Toro1966: Will see how loud they are.
    Aug 22, 2016 7:21 PM - danzca6: 27 dBA I think
Aug 22, 2016 7:22 PM - danzca6: With the amount of air they will push you may not need to run them at 100%
    Aug 22, 2016 7:22 PM - danzca6: That should help with noise
Aug 22, 2016 7:26 PM - Toro1966: True. That's also got me worried. Just figuring out how to get good prints and I don't want to mess that up by cooling too much.
Aug 22, 2016 7:29 PM - Toro1966: What are some signs of too much air
    Aug 22, 2016 7:30 PM - danzca6: When the part fly's off the bed
    Aug 22, 2016 7:33 PM - Toro1966: Lol
Aug 22, 2016 7:33 PM - Toro1966: What kind of quality issues would I expect?
Aug 22, 2016 7:37 PM - danzca6: Well just thinking of your bridging the other night. If you are stretching a line of filament across a distance, too much air could cause that line to flap around and get out of shape when cooled
    Aug 22, 2016 7:39 PM - Toro1966: Ahh ok.
    Aug 22, 2016 7:39 PM - danzca6: Just one example I can think of
Aug 22, 2016 7:40 PM - danzca6: And when you do other filaments other than pla you may not want it to cool too quickly
    Aug 22, 2016 7:40 PM - danzca6: Abs for example
Aug 22, 2016 7:42 PM - danzca6: I was thinking of the 0.1 bridge you did... Might help to lower the temp a bit so less cooling needed

Aug 23, 2016 5:27 AM - danzca6: I toured a shop a couple weekends ago and they are looking at getting a good CNC for doing that in house
Aug 23, 2016 5:29 AM - Bill Monroe: our commie pinko mosquito-kissing tree-huggin, illegal alien courting, extreme left, out-of-touch, governor has banned ALL AR-15s effective 1/1/17

Aug 23, 2016 5:33 AM - Bill Monroe: naw.. the cops will till shoot you on sight
    Aug 23, 2016 5:33 AM - danzca6: well...you aren't supposed to aim those at cops
Aug 23, 2016 5:33 AM - Bill Monroe: since the courts refuse to prosecute them using the "it could have been a real gun" defense
Aug 23, 2016 5:37 AM - danzca6: Bill, I am assuming, in the right hands, that making the y axis belt tension brackets out of aluminum on a CNC would be doable?
Aug 23, 2016 5:38 AM - Bill Monroe: i believe so, I'd have to see them
Aug 23, 2016 5:38 AM - Bill Monroe: i'm not sure what part you're referring to
Aug 23, 2016 5:38 AM - danzca6: well it's those little rectangular blocks that keep breaking that the belt straps into...let me find a pic
Aug 23, 2016 5:39 AM - Bill Monroe: ya.. I've never had a problem with the Y, other than it's fundamental design weakness
    Aug 23, 2016 5:40 AM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:865995
    Aug 23, 2016 5:40 AM - danzca6: agreed that the design isn't optimal for the y axis
Aug 23, 2016 5:40 AM - JeffTheMess: thats needs to be metal i wish
    Aug 23, 2016 5:40 AM - Bill Monroe: oh, so that's a user-created upgrade?
    Aug 23, 2016 5:41 AM - danzca6: no...that's factory
Aug 23, 2016 5:41 AM - danzca6: aluminum would be the upgrade though
Aug 23, 2016 5:41 AM - Bill Monroe: really.. well ya, looks fairly easy..
Aug 23, 2016 5:42 AM - danzca6: ok...thanks...been looking at some things to try out
Aug 23, 2016 5:43 AM - JeffTheMess: whats the smallest tool size you have bill
    Aug 23, 2016 5:45 AM - Bill Monroe: i have some 1/8
Aug 23, 2016 5:45 AM - Bill Monroe: solidworks wont open the model
    Aug 23, 2016 5:45 AM - danzca6: oh...I have a solidworks version of it at home
    Aug 23, 2016 5:46 AM - Bill Monroe: wait, I think it's a frefox sharing thing
    Aug 23, 2016 5:46 AM - Bill Monroe: brb
    Aug 23, 2016 5:49 AM - Bill Monroe: back
Aug 23, 2016 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: looks like one pocket is to hold a nut
    Aug 23, 2016 5:50 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
Aug 23, 2016 5:50 AM - Bill Monroe: that will have to be reworked
    Aug 23, 2016 5:51 AM - danzca6: I wondered about the V shape of that
Aug 23, 2016 5:51 AM - JeffTheMess: skip the hole drill it after
    Aug 23, 2016 5:51 AM - danzca6: right
Aug 23, 2016 5:51 AM - Bill Monroe: might be better to scratch design a substitute designed for CNC milling
Aug 23, 2016 5:52 AM - danzca6: I guess the nut holder could be just a squared off bottom
Aug 23, 2016 5:53 AM - danzca6: just a fiddly piece that seems to break on folks and I thought having it machined in aluminum would give it more rigidity
Aug 23, 2016 5:53 AM - JeffTheMess: your the man for the job Bill
Aug 23, 2016 5:54 AM - danzca6: Well...I wasn't trying to get Bill to do it...just looking for an expert opinion
Aug 23, 2016 5:54 AM - JeffTheMess: he would do it in a heart beat, right :)
Aug 23, 2016 5:54 AM - Bill Monroe: bah.. someone with weak math skills made this model.. it's metric
Aug 23, 2016 5:55 AM - Bill Monroe: cant do it right away.. got a line in front of it
Aug 23, 2016 5:55 AM - JeffTheMess: wonder if you can cast it
    Aug 23, 2016 5:56 AM - danzca6: casting would be a weaker part right
    Aug 23, 2016 5:56 AM - danzca6: I did think of that
Aug 23, 2016 5:56 AM - Bill Monroe: heh too tiny
Aug 23, 2016 5:56 AM - JeffTheMess: stronger than what is there
    Aug 23, 2016 5:56 AM - danzca6: that too Bill
    Aug 23, 2016 5:56 AM - JeffTheMess: yeah
    Aug 23, 2016 5:57 AM - danzca6: just a thought...appreciate the advice Bill
Aug 23, 2016 5:57 AM - Bill Monroe: i think I'd just eliminate the nut socket and thread the hole
Aug 23, 2016 5:58 AM - danzca6: I know that Mike Glass had a lot of his injection molded pieces start breaking on him over time
Aug 23, 2016 5:58 AM - danzca6: I just look at the plastic pieces and wonder what could be machined metal...or cast
Aug 23, 2016 5:59 AM - danzca6: I guess it all depends on the design
Aug 23, 2016 5:59 AM - danzca6: I figure a lot would have to be reworked tooling in mind
    Aug 23, 2016 6:00 AM - danzca6: Just stupid things I think about sometimes :)
    Aug 23, 2016 6:00 AM - Bill Monroe: not stupid :)
    Aug 23, 2016 6:02 AM - danzca6: ha..thanks
Aug 23, 2016 6:03 AM - Bill Monroe: i just looked at it on my machine... easy-peasy
Aug 23, 2016 6:07 AM - danzca6: thanks for looking at it Bill...I might look at getting some time on a CNC at a local shop here to make it
Aug 23, 2016 6:08 AM - JeffTheMess: get a cnc dan, come on
Aug 23, 2016 6:08 AM - danzca6: i'd like to learn more about CNC setup and such

Aug 23, 2016 6:09 AM - Bill Monroe: it's a process :) what CAD software do you know?
    Aug 23, 2016 6:09 AM - danzca6: Just Fusion 360 right now
    Aug 23, 2016 6:09 AM - danzca6: if that qualifies
Aug 23, 2016 6:10 AM - Bill Monroe: ok.. i think so, I hear it has CAM built in but I dont know
    Aug 23, 2016 6:10 AM - JeffTheMess: get inventor
Aug 23, 2016 6:10 AM - Bill Monroe: bah.. inventor is for children
Aug 23, 2016 6:10 AM - Bill Monroe: i hear 360 has CAM built in but I dont know
Aug 23, 2016 6:10 AM - danzca6: it does...and watching NYCNC on youtube...that is what he is currently using
    Aug 23, 2016 6:11 AM - JeffTheMess: nycnc is a good channel
Aug 23, 2016 6:11 AM - danzca6: he switched away from solidworks...not sure why one would do that
Aug 23, 2016 6:12 AM - JeffTheMess: doesn't matter what you use as long as you are comfortable using it
Aug 23, 2016 6:12 AM - danzca6: and it has the tools you need right
    Aug 23, 2016 6:12 AM - danzca6: ;)
Aug 23, 2016 6:12 AM - Bill Monroe: he actually still uses if for his own work.. he had to switch to a free program for his vids since all the posers that watch him wont spend any money on real stuff
    Aug 23, 2016 6:12 AM - danzca6: ah...that does make sense <-- posers
Aug 23, 2016 6:15 AM - danzca6: Jeff I am looking at finishing my MPCNC...complete toy compared to any real CNC machine. Not sure if I will be able to do anything with aluminum, but wanted to learn the basics with it
Aug 23, 2016 6:16 AM - Bill Monroe: i see people making stuff with those...
Aug 23, 2016 6:16 AM - danzca6: mostly wood carving is the plan I have for it at the moment
Aug 23, 2016 6:16 AM - danzca6: it will get me into the world of CAM and I'll see where I go from there...maybe I'll get the Tormach fever someday
    Aug 23, 2016 6:17 AM - danzca6: and the funding of course ;)
Aug 23, 2016 6:17 AM - danzca6: I wish there was a makerspace near by to get more hands on experiance with the real thing
Aug 23, 2016 6:18 AM - Bill Monroe: there's one near me.. cost too much to get in and the tormach schedule was blacked out by makerplace clique
Aug 23, 2016 6:19 AM - Bill Monroe: yet everythime I'd go by there it was idle
    Aug 23, 2016 6:19 AM - danzca6: haha...that's funny
    Aug 23, 2016 6:19 AM - danzca6: and sad
Aug 23, 2016 6:22 AM - Bill Monroe: it's ok really, they used MachIII and Sprutcam. lame software
Aug 23, 2016 6:27 AM - danzca6: thanks again Bill for taking a look at that and for your input. Always appreciated. I have to head out. Nice talking to you and to you Jeff. Good to see you back in the SB again. Take care gentlemen.
Aug 23, 2016 6:27 AM - Bill Monroe: take care Dan
    Aug 23, 2016 6:28 AM - JeffTheMess: peace out
Aug 23, 2016 8:06 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: Hey! I have been using HSMXpress for awhile now, its the free version of HSMWorks, which is an add-in for SolidWorks, definitely the way to go so you don't have to learn another software
Aug 23, 2016 8:09 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: Plus you can make changes on the fly instead of having 2 programs open and import/export
Aug 23, 2016 9:49 AM - JeffTheMess: good ol' trump
    Aug 23, 2016 11:55 AM - teknoprep: hi all i have built this for my robo3d r1+ -- http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:669459
Aug 23, 2016 11:55 AM - teknoprep: everything is ready to go... where would be the best place to edit the settings for extruder speed
Aug 23, 2016 11:55 AM - teknoprep: since this is not geared
Aug 23, 2016 11:55 AM - teknoprep: its direct drive mk8 hobbed bolt
    Aug 23, 2016 12:13 PM - teknoprep: ??
Aug 23, 2016 12:35 PM - teknoprep: how do i change the settings for a different stepper ?
    Aug 23, 2016 12:40 PM - daniel871: Two videos to watch.
    Aug 23, 2016 12:40 PM - daniel871:
    Aug 23, 2016 12:57 PM - teknoprep: thanks
Aug 23, 2016 12:57 PM - teknoprep: this is similar to an esc on a multirotor
Aug 23, 2016 1:00 PM - teknoprep: ok daniel871... i understand this.. where is the settings in the arduino file for this ?
    Aug 23, 2016 1:00 PM - teknoprep: the motors i have just vibrate ... they are nema17
    Aug 23, 2016 1:07 PM - daniel871: http://solidutopia.com/marlin-firmware-user-guide-basic/
Aug 23, 2016 1:08 PM - daniel871: Scroll to "Axis Steps Per Unit" for more info.
    Aug 23, 2016 1:08 PM - teknoprep: yeah i just found that
Aug 23, 2016 1:08 PM - daniel871: For everyone else, here is a youtube video to make up for no GIFs.
    Aug 23, 2016 1:08 PM - teknoprep: define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT
Aug 23, 2016 1:09 PM - teknoprep: daniel871 ... what would make a stepper motor not move but vibrate back and forth instead... would that be pps or axis steps per unit ?
Aug 23, 2016 1:27 PM - daniel871: That would either be a bad stepper or a badly tuned driver, it has nothing to do with the firmware steps setting.
    Aug 23, 2016 1:29 PM - teknoprep: i have 2 of these motors
Aug 23, 2016 1:29 PM - teknoprep: the driver is the one that comes with the robo3d r1+
    Aug 23, 2016 7:05 PM - daniel871: [IMG]
Aug 23, 2016 7:33 PM - Toro1966: Ok, can't seem to get these led strips to stay stuck to the inside. They stick fine but then as soon as they hear up, the adhesive gives way. I have already tried carpet tape to keep them stuck but it had the same issue
Aug 23, 2016 7:33 PM - Bill Monroe: super glue
Aug 23, 2016 7:34 PM - Toro1966: Thought of that but worried if it will stay stuck
Aug 23, 2016 7:34 PM - Bill Monroe: well, that's the idea.. isnt it?
Aug 23, 2016 7:35 PM - Toro1966: yes, but will super glue remain stuck even with the heat?
    Aug 23, 2016 7:35 PM - Bill Monroe: yup
    Aug 23, 2016 7:36 PM - Toro1966: I assume you've tried it?
    Aug 23, 2016 7:48 PM - danzca6: If Bill says something will work...it works... :) he's an experienced maker
Aug 23, 2016 7:49 PM - Bill Monroe: sorry.. was taking some bread out of the oven.
Aug 23, 2016 7:50 PM - danzca6: Now Toro if you want to avoid gluing it, the other option would be to design some sort of channel or clip system for where you are routing it that allows for it to be removed down the road. Could make for a fun design project, but depends on how much time you want to dedicate to this
    Aug 23, 2016 7:51 PM - danzca6: haha...see...I told him you are a maker
Aug 23, 2016 7:51 PM - Bill Monroe: aw shucks
    Aug 23, 2016 7:51 PM - danzca6: how's it going tonight Bill
Aug 23, 2016 7:52 PM - Bill Monroe: pretty good, yourself?
Aug 23, 2016 7:52 PM - danzca6: Not too bad...finally got the feeling back in my mouth from having the dentist replace an old filling...luckily not the highlight of my day
Aug 23, 2016 7:52 PM - Bill Monroe: oh joy...
    Aug 23, 2016 7:53 PM - danzca6: right
Aug 23, 2016 7:53 PM - danzca6: hey, I assume you have welded aluminum before
Aug 23, 2016 7:54 PM - danzca6: what is your opinion of using brazing rods over a MIG welder
Aug 23, 2016 7:54 PM - Bill Monroe: ya.. i would never braze aluminum
Aug 23, 2016 7:54 PM - Bill Monroe: TIG weld it
Aug 23, 2016 7:54 PM - Bill Monroe: but there are some specialty rods make to gas-weld AL..
Aug 23, 2016 7:55 PM - Bill Monroe: just make sure you clean it with some non-ferrous abrasive.. no steel wool or wire brushing
    Aug 23, 2016 7:55 PM - danzca6: TIG...ok...been searching youtube and they have a variety of opinions.
    Aug 23, 2016 7:56 PM - Bill Monroe: [IMG]
    Aug 23, 2016 7:56 PM - Bill Monroe: i have a tig welder so, that's what I use
    Aug 23, 2016 7:56 PM - danzca6: gotcha
    Aug 23, 2016 7:56 PM - danzca6: man...that looks like a very nice project going on there
    Aug 23, 2016 7:56 PM - Bill Monroe: AR15 lower
    Aug 23, 2016 7:56 PM - danzca6: you did that in a day?
    Aug 23, 2016 7:57 PM - danzca6: well...yeah...I can see that man...haha
Aug 23, 2016 7:57 PM - Bill Monroe: ya.. some this morning, some at lunch.. some when I got home from the airport
Aug 23, 2016 7:57 PM - Bill Monroe: now I need to write the gcode to hog out the trigger area
    Aug 23, 2016 7:57 PM - danzca6: wow...that is impressive
Aug 23, 2016 7:58 PM - Bill Monroe: well, i was given a detailed drawing so, not all that difficult
    Aug 23, 2016 7:58 PM - danzca6: that does help
Aug 23, 2016 7:58 PM - danzca6: so putting it on the CNC this weekend?
Aug 23, 2016 7:59 PM - Bill Monroe: dunno.. gotta make a welding fixture for solvent welding spoons first
    Aug 23, 2016 7:59 PM - danzca6: solvent welding...I'll need to google that...haven't heard of it
Aug 23, 2016 8:00 PM - Bill Monroe: its for a machine that makes surgical drain bags
Aug 23, 2016 8:01 PM - Bill Monroe: bonds the tubes into the nipple on the bag
Aug 23, 2016 8:01 PM - Bill Monroe: cychlohexanone bonding
    Aug 23, 2016 8:01 PM - Bill Monroe: i'm sre I spelled that wrong
Aug 23, 2016 8:01 PM - Bill Monroe: and I'm sure I spelled sure wrong too
Aug 23, 2016 8:01 PM - danzca6: now your just throwing big words at me...haha...is that the project you have been working on for a few months now?
Aug 23, 2016 8:02 PM - Bill Monroe: ya, since february... starting to look like a machine now

Aug 23, 2016 8:02 PM - danzca6: something tells me you will never be bored
Aug 23, 2016 8:02 PM - Bill Monroe: designed these lil doo-dads to apply the solvent to the tubes but no one can make them.. keep getting no bids from the machine shops
Aug 23, 2016 8:03 PM - Bill Monroe: heh they want me to leave the detail cleanup to the noobs and move on to a machine that builds sprinkler head for Rainbird
    Aug 23, 2016 8:03 PM - danzca6: really?
Aug 23, 2016 8:04 PM - danzca6: that would be another cool project
Aug 23, 2016 8:04 PM - Bill Monroe: ya.. two identical machines that have to be out of the country by 12/15 in order to avoid import taxes into Poland
    Aug 23, 2016 8:05 PM - danzca6: a few months...gravy right
Aug 23, 2016 8:05 PM - Bill Monroe: heh well do-able with maximum effort
    Aug 23, 2016 8:06 PM - danzca6: well put
Aug 23, 2016 8:06 PM - Bill Monroe: big bonus if it happens for the company
Aug 23, 2016 8:06 PM - danzca6: it's all about time, money, and resources...just need 2 out of the three
Aug 23, 2016 8:06 PM - Bill Monroe: ma, 'll get two week additional vacation for the holidays
    Aug 23, 2016 8:07 PM - danzca6: 2.0 will like that
Aug 23, 2016 8:07 PM - Bill Monroe: oh ya
Aug 23, 2016 8:07 PM - Bill Monroe: today is her birthday :)
Aug 23, 2016 8:07 PM - danzca6: what? and the AR is her gift? :)
Aug 23, 2016 8:08 PM - Bill Monroe: heh naw.. I took her to dinner in Palm Springs.. her fav eatery
Aug 23, 2016 8:08 PM - Bill Monroe: her, and her sis and niece... her "possy" :)
Aug 23, 2016 8:08 PM - danzca6: yeah...I know you treat her well and wouldn't slack on her bday
    Aug 23, 2016 8:09 PM - danzca6: that's great
Aug 23, 2016 8:09 PM - Bill Monroe: they're trying on clothes for the weekend... some company is rolling something new out
Aug 23, 2016 8:09 PM - danzca6: well tell her happy birthday from the robo geeks
    Aug 23, 2016 8:10 PM - Bill Monroe: :)
Aug 23, 2016 8:11 PM - Bill Monroe: its been hot and humid here, so she's been flouncing around in her hippy outfit..
    Aug 23, 2016 8:11 PM - Bill Monroe: my gawd, she's beautiful
Aug 23, 2016 8:12 PM - danzca6: hey...you go right in there and tell her it is her bday and should only be wearing her bday suit...I guess that only works if there isn't already company over ;)
Aug 23, 2016 8:12 PM - Bill Monroe: focus Bill.. focus
Aug 23, 2016 8:12 PM - danzca6: and maybe that is more for your bday
    Aug 23, 2016 8:12 PM - danzca6: haha
Aug 23, 2016 8:13 PM - Bill Monroe: ya.. she did a fair bit of that when we got home
    Aug 23, 2016 8:13 PM - danzca6: nice...got to love warm weather
Aug 23, 2016 8:15 PM - danzca6: my wife and I were a real pair at dinner tonight...we both had dental work done today and couldn't stop laughing at each other trying to eat dinner...so a bit different vibe than the Monroe house...haha
    Aug 23, 2016 8:15 PM - Bill Monroe: it's all good :)
    Aug 23, 2016 8:15 PM - danzca6: thank goodness we weren't having soup
Aug 23, 2016 8:16 PM - Bill Monroe: 2.0 makes frequent trips to the dentist
Aug 23, 2016 8:16 PM - danzca6: it is...she's my best friend and has the best laugh I have ever heard...so we do alright ;)
    Aug 23, 2016 8:16 PM - Bill Monroe: that's awesome
Aug 23, 2016 8:20 PM - Bill Monroe: i'm thinking about getting a condo at brekenridge for xmas this year.. all my kids will be gone, and her family will be all over...
    Aug 23, 2016 8:23 PM - danzca6: really...nice...no need for a snow machine this year then
Aug 23, 2016 8:31 PM - Bill Monroe: he.. ya, forgot about that
Aug 23, 2016 8:32 PM - danzca6: with how much you said she like snow...Christmas in the CO will be a lot of fun for her
Aug 23, 2016 8:32 PM - danzca6: just make sure to have plenty of firewood
    Aug 23, 2016 8:32 PM - Bill Monroe: ya... she's a pretty good skier
    Aug 23, 2016 8:33 PM - danzca6: I've never done down hill..only cross country...It's IL...we are flat
Aug 23, 2016 8:33 PM - Bill Monroe: oh ya.. guess so
    Aug 23, 2016 8:33 PM - Bill Monroe: i snowboard
Aug 23, 2016 8:34 PM - danzca6: snowboarding looks fun as well...more under you then a couple skinny skis
Aug 23, 2016 8:34 PM - danzca6: mine always want to go different directions than the other
Aug 23, 2016 8:35 PM - danzca6: can only imagine that happening going down a mountain
Aug 23, 2016 8:35 PM - Bill Monroe: well, I'm raised in california, it's close to surfing
    Aug 23, 2016 8:37 PM - danzca6: ha...true...very true
Aug 23, 2016 8:38 PM - Bill Monroe: olus it's funny to pull up in front of all the kids, take off the hat and face scarf, and have them see the guy they've been mixing it up with is old enough to be their grandfather :)
Aug 23, 2016 8:42 PM - Bill Monroe: ok jacuzzi time.. catch ya in the morning
    Aug 23, 2016 8:42 PM - danzca6: haha....I bet
Aug 23, 2016 8:42 PM - danzca6: I was wondering when jacuzzi time was coming...enjoy and have a great night
Aug 23, 2016 8:42 PM - Bill Monroe: ok! take care
    Aug 23, 2016 8:42 PM - danzca6: will do

Aug 24, 2016 11:05 AM - XEMA: Anyone hear any updated news on the R2 printer? heh
Aug 24, 2016 11:18 AM - Geof: Last i heard its coming out next month (sept)
Aug 24, 2016 11:23 AM - danzca6: with the liquidation sales they have been having on the R1+ models...I would say we are close. If Sept, then that will be great. I wonder if they want the prototype back?
    Aug 24, 2016 11:25 AM - danzca6: haha...jk...I would have loved a review model though
Aug 24, 2016 11:54 AM - Geof: That would have been cool.
Aug 24, 2016 11:58 AM - daniel871: Yeah, especially since any review models would have received extra QC attention before being shipped out, maybe.
    Aug 24, 2016 1:15 PM - Geof: probably not :D
Aug 24, 2016 1:32 PM - danzca6: haha...still can't believe that one of their prototypes was wrecked by the package carrier out to one of the trade shows this year
Aug 24, 2016 1:40 PM - Geof: I cant believ its only happened once :-(
    Aug 24, 2016 1:40 PM - Geof: :)****
Aug 24, 2016 1:47 PM - danzca6: well...I only heard of the one time...not sure how many times it has happened
Aug 24, 2016 1:48 PM - danzca6: If they are going to launch it...they might as well just launch it
Aug 24, 2016 2:26 PM - Geof: Im thinkin about buying one lol just because
Aug 24, 2016 3:40 PM - danzca6: buy one of the big ones and the small ones...than you have the whole family. Don't want to play favorites do you :)
    Aug 24, 2016 3:40 PM - Toro1966: Thinking of trying the Prusa MK2
    Aug 24, 2016 3:41 PM - Toro1966: Looks like a solid printer.
Aug 24, 2016 3:41 PM - danzca6: That is an impressive looking printer for the price point
Aug 24, 2016 3:41 PM - danzca6: doing the kit or the prebuilt?
    Aug 24, 2016 3:42 PM - danzca6: save $200 and build it yourself
Aug 24, 2016 3:42 PM - Toro1966: haven't decided but probably the kit. Can't seem to spend an extra 200 on the prebuilt - especially when I love to tinker.
    Aug 24, 2016 3:42 PM - Toro1966: I actually think it's pretty ridiculous the price difference
Aug 24, 2016 3:43 PM - Toro1966: Who are thye paying 200 a pop to assemble these things?
Aug 24, 2016 3:43 PM - danzca6: another member just got one if you want to compare notes
    Aug 24, 2016 3:43 PM - danzca6: well...
Aug 24, 2016 3:43 PM - danzca6: printrbot has changed over to charging the same price for their kits and prebuilt
Aug 24, 2016 3:43 PM - danzca6: they figure that the cost to support those building the kits equals the cost of doing the build themselves
    Aug 24, 2016 3:49 PM - danzca6: Check out Chuck Erwin...he has the MK2...bought the prebuilt version. http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?threads/printer-that-corrects-all-axes.9066/#post-82863
    Aug 24, 2016 3:50 PM - Toro1966: excellent - thanks. I'll check that out.
    Aug 24, 2016 3:50 PM - Toro1966: Can't be too hard to put together
    Aug 24, 2016 3:51 PM - Toro1966: separate question - what's the longest you've run your printer continuously on a print?
    Aug 24, 2016 3:51 PM - danzca6: over 24 hours
Aug 24, 2016 3:53 PM - Toro1966: I am printing the first of many pieces for a project and it has been going for aboit 20 hours. Should be done in a couple of hours. Do I need to give it a break before starting another piece?
Aug 24, 2016 3:56 PM - danzca6: yeah...give it a drink...rub its shoulders...towel off it's forehead....haha Nah you should be able to lock and load the next model and go
    Aug 24, 2016 3:56 PM - Toro1966: Excellent. Just wasn't sure if it needed a cigarette and a nap
Aug 24, 2016 3:57 PM - danzca6: might actually want to put another drop of oil in your oiler after printing that long.
Aug 24, 2016 3:57 PM - Toro1966: Lol - not using one. I have printed out two, just haven't put it on with all of the other stuff I ahve been doing
    Aug 24, 2016 3:58 PM - danzca6: You're a dare devil
Aug 24, 2016 3:58 PM - Toro1966: Completely forgot. Plus I need to get asponge to put in it.
    Aug 24, 2016 3:58 PM - danzca6: PLA+oiler=insurance
Aug 24, 2016 3:58 PM - Toro1966: I have to say the piece is coming out very nice. We'll see if the supports come off easy enough.
Aug 24, 2016 3:59 PM - danzca6: I just took a bit of sponge off of a sponge I use to wash the cars
    Aug 24, 2016 3:59 PM - Toro1966: Printing this: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:260152
Aug 24, 2016 3:59 PM - Toro1966: I have some blue kitchen sponges. maybe I'll use that. What's the main benefit of the oiler again?
Aug 24, 2016 4:00 PM - danzca6: keeps the PLA from clogging and helps keep the hotend seasoned
    Aug 24, 2016 4:01 PM - danzca6: helps a bit with finish I have found as well
    Aug 24, 2016 4:01 PM - Toro1966: ahh -got it
Aug 24, 2016 4:01 PM - Toro1966: I am using the robo metallic gold filament.
    Aug 24, 2016 4:01 PM - Toro1966: interesting
Aug 24, 2016 4:01 PM - danzca6: so lets hope that helmet fits your head after it is all done
    Aug 24, 2016 4:01 PM - Toro1966: Haha - it won't. I scaled it to 75%. More manageable.
    Aug 24, 2016 4:02 PM - danzca6: so just display
Aug 24, 2016 4:06 PM - Toro1966: for now. If it turns out well I might make a bigger one. Couldn't believe the first piece has taken 21 hours...
    Aug 24, 2016 4:06 PM - danzca6: what layer height?
    Aug 24, 2016 4:07 PM - Toro1966: .1
    Aug 24, 2016 4:07 PM - danzca6: well...there is your answer
    Aug 24, 2016 4:07 PM - Toro1966: yup.
Aug 24, 2016 4:07 PM - Toro1966: should have printed at .3 to check it out. also printing at 30mm/s
    Aug 24, 2016 4:08 PM - danzca6: did you do a thin infill
    Aug 24, 2016 4:08 PM - Toro1966: 25%
    Aug 24, 2016 4:09 PM - Toro1966: [IMG]
    Aug 24, 2016 4:09 PM - Toro1966: [IMG]
    Aug 24, 2016 4:09 PM - danzca6: prob could have gotten away with 10-15% infill...looks great though
    Aug 24, 2016 4:10 PM - Toro1966: thanks!
Aug 24, 2016 4:10 PM - danzca6: yeah you could have gone .2, .25, or .3...just more sanding if you wanted to make it a display piece
    Aug 24, 2016 4:10 PM - danzca6: though some like the lines
Aug 24, 2016 4:11 PM - Toro1966: I like them as smooth as I can get them. The metallic filament shows more lines anyway than standard PLA
    Aug 24, 2016 4:11 PM - danzca6: well, time for dinner....bbl
    Aug 24, 2016 4:12 PM - Toro1966: take it easy brother
Aug 24, 2016 4:12 PM - Toro1966: should I wait for this to cool before removing it?
    Aug 24, 2016 4:52 PM - danzca6: a bit...just test it. May just pop right off
    Aug 24, 2016 5:01 PM - Toro1966: got it
    Aug 24, 2016 7:22 PM - Toro1966: Popped right off. Looks great.
Aug 24, 2016 7:31 PM - Toro1966: I know I can measure it but what is the stock size of the Robo bed in mm? Mine is printing right now.
    Aug 24, 2016 7:44 PM - danzca6: The whole glass size?
Aug 24, 2016 7:56 PM - Bill Monroe: does this place have Valet?
Aug 24, 2016 8:10 PM - danzca6: Sure, mail me the keys to that truck of yours and I will park it in my garage :)
    Aug 24, 2016 8:17 PM - danzca6: Toro...Bed is 385x255
    Aug 24, 2016 8:20 PM - danzca6: the y smooth rods are 354.6...give or take
Aug 24, 2016 8:22 PM - danzca6: download Mike Kelly's full solidworks breakdown of the Robo and you can measure everything using their free eDrawings software... http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:729956

Aug 25, 2016 10:14 AM - Toro1966: Well my luck ran out Danzca. About 8 hours into an 11 hour print - clog! That's what I get for not running an oiler. Especially while using the metallic filament.
Aug 25, 2016 10:21 AM - danzca6: haha...oh no...well...I guess some lessons are better learned the hard way...so get that oiler on there buddy
    Aug 25, 2016 10:21 AM - danzca6: how bad is the clog?
Aug 25, 2016 11:07 AM - Toro1966: Got it unclogged with some cleaning filament. Added the oiler. Just had to stop it again after about an hour because it looked like I had some separating of one of the layers. I assume it's due to temp, but I printed out a 23 hour piece at the same temp - so not certain. I raised it and we'll see how it does.
Aug 25, 2016 11:08 AM - Toro1966: I was prinitng at 188 originally, which I know is low, but again, it printed the first peice for 23 hours and came out great and is strong.
Aug 25, 2016 11:08 AM - Toro1966: Wondering if I still have some bit of clog left - though I believe I got it all out becaise the cleaning filament came through and had a nice chunk of gold at the end of it :)
    Aug 25, 2016 11:20 AM - Toro1966: hopefully this one turns out
Aug 25, 2016 11:21 AM - danzca6: did you season the hotend after cleaning it out?
    Aug 25, 2016 11:21 AM - Toro1966: Yep
    Aug 25, 2016 11:21 AM - danzca6: good man
Aug 25, 2016 11:21 AM - danzca6: did you just put a couple drops on the sponge?
    Aug 25, 2016 11:23 AM - Toro1966: yes.
    Aug 25, 2016 11:23 AM - Toro1966: That's right - corect?
Aug 25, 2016 11:24 AM - danzca6: correct..don't want it dripping with oil...although Biker Mark says he has never had an issue with it so wet with oil that it drips on the bed. I like to just keep a light shine on the PLA
Aug 25, 2016 11:25 AM - danzca6: so your parts should be looking beter not worse...ah the joys of 3d printing
Aug 25, 2016 11:26 AM - danzca6: temp, was the filament used on the 23 hour the same as what you are using now?
Aug 25, 2016 11:28 AM - Toro1966: yep. Same filament. Which is why I wonder about the temp. I put it up to 195 from the 188 it was. We'll see how it turns out.
Aug 25, 2016 11:29 AM - danzca6: still printing parts for the ironman helment?
Aug 25, 2016 11:29 AM - Toro1966: yep. only on the second part...
    Aug 25, 2016 11:29 AM - danzca6: out of?
    Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - Toro1966: 7nor 8 i think
Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - Toro1966: some will be done with other filament though
    Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - danzca6: so almost done
    Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - danzca6: haha
    Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - Toro1966: lol
    Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - Toro1966: yup
    Aug 25, 2016 11:30 AM - Toro1966: hopefully the oiler fixes it.
    Aug 25, 2016 11:31 AM - danzca6: it shouldn't hurt that's for sure...some extra insurance
    Aug 25, 2016 11:40 AM - Toro1966: Agrred!
Aug 25, 2016 11:43 AM - Toro1966: Quick question. Other than stringing, is there a problem with running it a little hotter? Are there other issues I would see?
Aug 25, 2016 11:45 AM - danzca6: with pla, the sooner you can cool it the better or your part can get a bit droopy in places I have found. So keeping the temp reasonable and with your dual fans you should be alright with the new temp you bumped it to. I normally do PLA at 195-205 and rarely will I go to 205.
Aug 25, 2016 11:50 AM - Toro1966: excellent - thanks. I had been running 188 or so but that was also without the dual fans. Took the nozzles off but kept the fans.
Aug 25, 2016 11:52 AM - Ryan TeGantvoort: I swear to god everyone and their dog has printed that stupid Iron Man helmet
    Aug 25, 2016 11:57 AM - danzca6: hey...good idea...I can scale it down for my dog
    Aug 25, 2016 11:58 AM - danzca6: :)
Aug 25, 2016 12:02 PM - Toro1966: Lol. That's because most of us have geek friends and family that would love it as a gift :)
    Aug 25, 2016 12:02 PM - Toro1966: Where's that candy machine Geof made?
Aug 25, 2016 12:03 PM - Toro1966: I saw several on thingiverse, just not sure whihc one is the same one.
Aug 25, 2016 12:08 PM - danzca6: say his name three times and he will appear in the shoutbox ;)
Aug 25, 2016 12:10 PM - Toro1966: lol As long as he doesn't creep up behind me with an axe..oh..wrong movie..
    Aug 25, 2016 12:11 PM - danzca6: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1453445
    Aug 25, 2016 12:11 PM - danzca6: redrum
    Aug 25, 2016 12:11 PM - danzca6: oh...yet another wrong movie
    Aug 25, 2016 12:12 PM - Toro1966: Thanks. Good movie!
    Aug 25, 2016 12:43 PM - Geof: I counted 1 ;)
Aug 25, 2016 12:44 PM - Geof: Danzca got ya covered. bout 30 hours if you have your acceleration and jerk tuned down like I do
    Aug 25, 2016 12:44 PM - Geof: 20 hours****
    Aug 25, 2016 12:44 PM - danzca6: HAhaha
    Aug 25, 2016 1:42 PM - NFOsec: wazzup?
Aug 25, 2016 2:10 PM - teknoprep: hi all i have changed this settings and yet it does NOTHING for extrusion
    Aug 25, 2016 2:10 PM - teknoprep: #define DEFAULT_AXIS_STEPS_PER_UNIT {80,80,800,723.38} // default steps per unit for RoBo 3D R1z
    Aug 25, 2016 2:10 PM - teknoprep: i have chaned it to {80,80,800,723.38*2} i have also changed it to {80,80,800,10}
Aug 25, 2016 2:11 PM - teknoprep: nothing changes for extruder distance
Aug 25, 2016 2:11 PM - teknoprep: its always the same distance.. which is the wrong distance... for command G1 E10 F200
Aug 25, 2016 2:11 PM - teknoprep: its 13mm too much extrusion no matter what i do to that setting
Aug 25, 2016 2:13 PM - teknoprep: nvm i just found the answer
Aug 25, 2016 2:13 PM - teknoprep: M500 Store current settings in EEPROM for the next startup or M501. M501 Read all parameters from EEPROM. (Or, undo changes.) M502 Reset current settings to defaults, as set in Configurations.h. (Follow with M500 to reset the EEPROM too.)
Aug 25, 2016 4:26 PM - Toro1966: Have to say that it looks like the oiler is doing it's job.
Aug 25, 2016 4:26 PM - Toro1966: Temp is at 192 and it is printing well.
Aug 25, 2016 4:27 PM - Toro1966: need to order some of that self adhesive steel shim tape.
Aug 25, 2016 6:18 PM - Toro1966: A couple of questions about the reprap full grphich smart controller lcd
Aug 25, 2016 6:19 PM - Toro1966: How do I adjust the rotation direction - i.e. clockwise for up, etc. Also, is there a way to change the steps or the sensitivity. It is very touchy.
Aug 25, 2016 6:20 PM - danzca6: Yes to the first.. It's in the firmware. The second not sure
Aug 25, 2016 6:21 PM - Toro1966: I thought I remembered seeing somewhere that you could adjust the sensitivity as well, just can't remember where,
    Aug 25, 2016 6:21 PM - Toro1966: oiler is working well.
Aug 25, 2016 6:22 PM - Toro1966: been printing for almost 8 hours so i added a coiuple of more drops.
Aug 25, 2016 6:24 PM - danzca6: awesome...I'll search the firmware to see about sensitivity
    Aug 25, 2016 6:27 PM - danzca6: #define REVERSE_ENCODER_DIRECTION in the Configuration.h file
    Aug 25, 2016 6:28 PM - danzca6: #define REVERSE_MENU_DIRECTION might be something to look at as well
    Aug 25, 2016 6:29 PM - danzca6: #define ENCODER_STEPS_PER_MENU_ITEM 5
Aug 25, 2016 6:30 PM - danzca6: maybe that will work for sensetivity
    Aug 25, 2016 6:32 PM - danzca6: oh shoot...those first two defines might just be RC7
    Aug 25, 2016 6:32 PM - danzca6: ENCODER_STEPS_PER_MENU_ITEM is still in the 1.0 version of Marlin
Aug 25, 2016 6:35 PM - danzca6: man the comments in RC7 are a lot better as well
Aug 25, 2016 6:36 PM - Toro1966: Found one of Tom's videos that shows the steps for sensitivity - but I am not sure where to change the pins for the direction in the pins.h file
    Aug 25, 2016 6:38 PM - Toro1966: just found it.
    Aug 25, 2016 6:38 PM - Toro1966: Thanks!
    Aug 25, 2016 6:38 PM - danzca6: and?
Aug 25, 2016 6:38 PM - Toro1966: Still printing, but when I'm done, I'll update the firmware and check it out.
    Aug 25, 2016 6:38 PM - danzca6: gotta share
Aug 25, 2016 6:38 PM - danzca6: was this all in a vid from Tom
Aug 25, 2016 6:39 PM - Toro1966: lol - sorry - open up the pins.h file in wordpad, search reprap controller, change buttons En1 and EN2 to the opposite of each other.
    Aug 25, 2016 6:39 PM - Toro1966: Video
Aug 25, 2016 6:39 PM - Toro1966: for the sensitivity, it was the encoder steps lines
    Aug 25, 2016 6:39 PM - danzca6: awesome...I haven't see that vid yet
    Aug 25, 2016 6:40 PM - danzca6: thank you
Aug 25, 2016 6:40 PM - danzca6: oh, and I always just use the arduino IDE to change the firmware files...much easier
Aug 25, 2016 6:40 PM - danzca6: you can search all files that way and much more
Aug 25, 2016 6:41 PM - danzca6: now I wish I could remember who was asking how to change these settings the other day
Aug 25, 2016 6:41 PM - Toro1966: i do too. i just opened it in wordpad because Tom recommended it :)
Aug 25, 2016 6:41 PM - Toro1966: Good news is, it will be archived here!
    Aug 25, 2016 6:42 PM - danzca6: silly tom
    Aug 25, 2016 6:43 PM - Toro1966: lol
    Aug 25, 2016 6:47 PM - danzca6: wow that was a good video
Aug 25, 2016 6:47 PM - danzca6: I need to just binge watch his whole library...like 5 times so it sinks in
Aug 25, 2016 6:48 PM - danzca6: how can he only have 35K subscribers...should be another zero in there
Aug 25, 2016 6:51 PM - Toro1966: no kidding. I think the issue is until you jumpo in and figure a few things out, some of his videos are moderate to advanced. Of course now I don't think so, but when I was first starting out, I was a bit confused.
Aug 25, 2016 6:52 PM - danzca6: It's all about experience. Good thing these printers force you into getting that XP fast
Aug 25, 2016 6:53 PM - danzca6: well heading upstairs to chill with the kids...I'm sure I'll be back down in an hour...can never sleep anymore
Aug 25, 2016 6:54 PM - Toro1966: take it easy. Best to the family

Aug 26, 2016 at 6:39 AM - teknoprep: whats the gear ratio of the default robo r1+ extruder ?
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:39 AM - Bill Monroe: living in california, buying any firearm or part thereof with a serial number is poblematic
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:40 AM - Bill Monroe: heh default.. I think you mean stock
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:40 AM - teknoprep: yeah stock
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:40 AM - Bill Monroe: i love it when nerds try to be cool
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:40 AM - teknoprep: i am cool wtf are you talking about
    Aug 26, 2016 at 6:40 AM - teknoprep: lol
    Aug 26, 2016 at 6:40 AM - Bill Monroe: :)
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:41 AM - Bill Monroe: dunno what the ratio is.. it's just a ripoff of the wades..
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:41 AM - Bill Monroe: there's a lot of variables, the best thing to do is calibrate yours and make adjustments to the firmware
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:42 AM - danzca6: yeah I don't know off the top of my head either
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:42 AM - teknoprep: how many teeth on the small gear ?>
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:43 AM - Bill Monroe: well, it's a little baby gear so not very many :)
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:43 AM - Bill Monroe: d/l a solid and count them
    Aug 26, 2016 at 6:43 AM - teknoprep: 46/9
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:44 AM - Bill Monroe: ok there ya go :)
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:44 AM - teknoprep: aka 723.38*.19569 for direct drive bowden
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:44 AM - teknoprep: the mk8 i am using is smaller though
Aug 26, 2016 at 6:44 AM - teknoprep: so i have to figure the size difference on that as well
Aug 26, 2016 at 7:02 AM - Bill Monroe: [IMG]
Aug 26, 2016 at 7:14 AM - danzca6: Bill! no Calvin peeing on the donkey...haha
Aug 26, 2016 at 7:16 AM - danzca6: oh, maybe that isn't Calvin from calvin and hobbes that I see on all of the ford and chevy trucks...looks like him though
Aug 26, 2016 at 7:25 AM - teknoprep: hey all.. does anyone have any stock build instructions for the extruder ?
Aug 26, 2016 at 7:28 AM - danzca6: ? instructions...what specifically are you looking for how to do
    Aug 26, 2016 at 7:29 AM - danzca6: it's just the general greg's wade extruder
    Aug 26, 2016 at 7:29 AM - danzca6: it's not specific to robo
Aug 26, 2016 at 7:32 AM - danzca6: Looking for something like this?
Aug 26, 2016 at 8:07 AM - daniel871: Welp, this is a pretty good ad for Amazon's new automotive section.
Aug 26, 2016 at 8:55 AM - teknoprep: where are the robo3d r1+ printable parts for stock items
Aug 26, 2016 at 8:55 AM - danzca6: you can find them all on Thingiverse
Aug 26, 2016 at 8:55 AM - danzca6: anything specific I can help you find?
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:01 AM - danzca6: always a good idea to print some spare parts in case one of the plastic parts break on the printer...unless you have a second printer to save you
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:04 AM - teknoprep: the botom peice that holds the hotend
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:04 AM - teknoprep: it cracked
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:08 AM - danzca6: oh the quick release plate?
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:11 AM - danzca6: If so, the one for upgrading to the V6 is out there but the stock one isn't. I do ave the stl for the stock though and can PM you it when I get home
    Aug 26, 2016 at 9:14 AM - teknoprep: nah
    Aug 26, 2016 at 9:14 AM - teknoprep: upgrading to v6 - http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1411833
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:16 AM - danzca6: ok, so here is the v6 version of that plate http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1192896
Aug 26, 2016 at 9:17 AM - danzca6: it works but I also have a slightly different design for that as well
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:16 AM - teknoprep: my robo3d print bed is off by about .1mm on one side
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:16 AM - teknoprep: what to do ?
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:16 AM - teknoprep: maybe a few more.. like .3mm
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:16 AM - teknoprep: i have the r1+ and autolevel doesn't really help
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:24 AM - daniel871: Auto-level drools, Mesh Bed leveling rules.
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:26 AM - danzca6: well said daniel
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:27 AM - daniel871: Here or in the MK2 thread?
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:29 AM - danzca6: haha...the abl drools and mbl rules comment
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:30 AM - danzca6: I'll have to go read what you put in the mk2 thread
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:33 AM - Toro1966: Are these the bearings needed for the 10mm mod?
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:33 AM - Toro1966: http://www.ultibots.com/10mm-bronze-bearing-4-pack-a-7z41mpsb10m/
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:34 AM - danzca6: yes if you are doing what WheresWaldo did
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:35 AM - danzca6: there is another source that is cheaper someone mentioned, but I have bought a few things from them and not too bad. I caught them doing a 10% off deal one weekend
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:37 AM - danzca6: I have a bag of 10mm and 8mm of those
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:38 AM - danzca6: it's amaizing that the outer dimensions are the same but you can tell why when you look at them. the 10mm has a thinner bronze insert
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:38 AM - Toro1966: nice.
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:39 AM - Toro1966: Thinking I might try this one. I always did think the base felt flimsy on the 8mm rod.
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:40 AM - danzca6: agreed. I have 10mm purchased for the x and y and I even have some 12mm stock I am thinking of putting on the Z and making the Z a dual smooth rod on each side...overkill...but it's more of a what if project for me
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:42 AM - Toro1966: Are there files to remake the x brakets for new 10mm rods?
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:42 AM - Toro1966: I assume you need a new x carriage for the extruder as well
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:43 AM - danzca6: yes and yes. you will need to either print out a new carriage and end caps or just take a drill to the injected molded parts
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:44 AM - danzca6: I have the models at home if you need them
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:44 AM - danzca6: did you read WW's thread on the x axis mod for this?
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:44 AM - danzca6: he ended up just using a drill
    Aug 26, 2016 at 11:45 AM - danzca6: http://community.robo3d.com/index.php?threads/x-axis-bearing-upgrade.7207/
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:47 AM - danzca6: I don't want to drill anything...like to put it all back to stock someday
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:53 AM - danzca6: I added the link for the bearings on the thingiverse page as well Toro...thanks for pointing that out

Aug 26, 2016 at 11:53 AM - Toro1966: Agreed - especially when it is so easy to just print a new carriage
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:55 AM - danzca6: well if your going to do it, start with Y and see if that works out. We can always do X, but would hate to see you do both at the same time and hate it.
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:56 AM - danzca6: whenever you want the models for the X let me know and I will send them to you
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:58 AM - Toro1966: great, thanks! Working on a pinball machine now. So I am back and forth
Aug 26, 2016 at 11:59 AM - danzca6: also a note about the Y axis, make sure you account under the bearings near the Y motor for the bit of extra height. It's in the thread, but can be easily missed
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:00 PM - danzca6: which one are you working on?
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:15 PM - danzca6:
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:16 PM - danzca6: Chuck's review of the Robo R1+
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:25 PM - daniel871: That's a hilarious "Would you recommend it?" response.
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:25 PM - daniel871: "Eeeeeehhhh"
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:29 PM - danzca6: haven't had a chance to see it all...will tonight...Joel Telling has a review coming as well. So far he likes it. Surprised Barnacules didn't give him an ear full of his Robo days. They live close to one another and get together from time to time.
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:29 PM - danzca6: that is funny though
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:33 PM - Bill Monroe: Dan
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:33 PM - Bill Monroe: (see how I did that? said hello to two different people at the same time?)
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:33 PM - danzca6: haha...I was going to say...who me?
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:34 PM - danzca6: hello Bill
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:34 PM - Bill Monroe: what it be?
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:34 PM - danzca6: it be almost quiting time
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:34 PM - Bill Monroe: lunch for me
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:35 PM - danzca6: ah you west coasters
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:35 PM - danzca6: prob didn't see my comment on your engraving above
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:35 PM - Bill Monroe: the net is festooned with knuckleheads producing videos as if they're the supreme experts
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:35 PM - Bill Monroe: no, I didnt.. what ya think?
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:35 PM - danzca6: yeah...but they get free printers to fill their houses and garages with ;)
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Bill Monroe: well good for them.. just dont send them a camera
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:36 PM - danzca6: I liked it. I was thinking the kid peeing on the donkey would be better like you see on the ford and chevy trucks
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:36 PM - Bill Monroe: naw.. that's been done
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:37 PM - Bill Monroe: this could be either a no jackasses.. or no demotards
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:37 PM - Bill Monroe: and if anyone askes, I'll tell them.. same thing
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:39 PM - Bill Monroe: actually, i was just doing familiarization process since this cam package is so complex and still new to me
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:40 PM - danzca6: a bit of a proof of concept
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:40 PM - Bill Monroe: ya.. I might put a lil one on the front of the magwell though
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:41 PM - Bill Monroe: the governor here signed a sweeping gun control bill and i'm still trying to digest what it really means
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:42 PM - Bill Monroe: so far, it looks like they totally ignored those who make their own
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:42 PM - danzca6: nice
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:42 PM - Bill Monroe: they outright banned all mags over 10 rounds though...
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:43 PM - Bill Monroe: ammo sales have to be recorded..
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:43 PM - Bill Monroe: no ARs after the first of the year
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:43 PM - Bill Monroe: apparently, AK47 is ok though
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:45 PM - Bill Monroe: freeking psycho nazi woman senator (the same one that banned ALL gun in san fransisco when she was mayor) actually said "Now AR will never again stand for Assault Rifle"
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:47 PM - Toro1966: Most of it won't stand. Will take a few years, but the lawsuits they will a come...
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:47 PM - danzca6: start making your own ammo
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:47 PM - Bill Monroe: come the elction, there'll be a congreeinal enema
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:48 PM - Bill Monroe: I do, Dan
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:48 PM - Toro1966: I am assuming they'll be recording the stuff to make ammo as well. Bullets, primers, etc
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:48 PM - Bill Monroe: I also have a plane and the city of Yuma, AZ is less than an hour away, and there's no border crossing guards in the air :)
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:49 PM - Bill Monroe: they didnt mention components
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:49 PM - Bill Monroe: cuz, they're idiots
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:49 PM - Toro1966: For now...
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:49 PM - Toro1966: That's what scares me
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:49 PM - Bill Monroe: i have a FFL III. I have to go to AZ to get the fun stuff so it's not unknown to me
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:50 PM - Toro1966: not looking forward to it. We might be moving to CA in a year or so and I will have to put most of my stuff in storage...
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:50 PM - Toro1966: With family..
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:50 PM - Toro1966: In more reasonable places...
    Aug 26, 2016 at 12:50 PM - Bill Monroe: no ARs :)
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Toro1966: Yeah - that's the first arbitrary part of the bill that will go....
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Bill Monroe: I bought a 6-pak of 80% lowers a few months ago, before the laws changed.
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:51 PM - Bill Monroe: you dont know CA law.. it wont change unless we get a gun-freindly governor
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:52 PM - Bill Monroe: the one we have now wants money for his pet project and will do whatever the women libtard senators what to get their support..
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:52 PM - Bill Monroe: you know.. that's how libs get their votes.. buy them
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:54 PM - Bill Monroe: Hillary was here... when she left she told the guy with the police dog to "get that fucking animal away from me"
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:55 PM - Bill Monroe: trump came.. when he left he got out of his suburban and shook every cops hand one by one.. no rush.. held everybody up until he was shure he didnt miss anyone.. then left
Aug 26, 2016 at 12:55 PM - Bill Monroe: lots of dems changed their tune
Aug 26, 2016 at 1:57 PM - David Howarth: Do you guys have thoughts on buying a refurbished R1 Plus?
Aug 26, 2016 at 1:58 PM - David Howarth: I currently use one at work and it's pretty fun/annoying. I'm not sure if I'd be better off paying full price for the warranty (which doesn't seem to cover much), or just hoping any faults show in the first 30 days...
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:08 PM - David Howarth: ---and im messaging an empty shoutbox. If anyone has strong feelings either way about the refurb deal i'd love a PM. Enjoy your weekends!
    Aug 26, 2016 at 2:17 PM - danzca6: I bought a refurbished
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:18 PM - danzca6: They are only $499 right now from Robo and do have a warranty
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:18 PM - David Howarth: But the warranty is only 30 days right?
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:19 PM - danzca6: Yeah... But that's not too bad... It's all cheap parts to either print out buy if ever needed after that
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:21 PM - danzca6: I got the r1 and had to buy the new style lead screws to get rid of the z banding... Now that is all included with the plus
    Aug 26, 2016 at 2:21 PM - danzca6: Other than that... It's works great
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:22 PM - David Howarth: cool thanks
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:22 PM - David Howarth: also does PID tuning modify the firmware?
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:22 PM - danzca6: I think they do the refurbishing in house as apposed to the assembly of the new ones over seas. So the qc Serena to be better in my experience
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:23 PM - danzca6: You would need to modify yes. Better than a temporary setting
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:23 PM - David Howarth: Interesting, i'll definitely consider that. I was also thinking of buying a $300 reprap i3 but im not sure how reliable the kit is
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:24 PM - danzca6: The routine just gives you the numbers
    Aug 26, 2016 at 2:24 PM - David Howarth: *prusa i3
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:24 PM - danzca6: The monoprice select has worked well for another member here
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:25 PM - danzca6: And it isn't a prusa unless it comes from Josef... All others are clones stealing his design and name
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:26 PM - David Howarth: yeah, its definitely a ripoff hence the %50 price tag
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:27 PM - danzca6: So many options to choose from these days
Aug 26, 2016 at 2:30 PM - David Howarth: Yeah, it seems like buying a refurbed Robo is almost equivalent to buying a DIY kit and paying for someone to build it
Aug 26, 2016 at 3:31 PM - danzca6: Man Chuck's review of the Robo was not very good
Aug 26, 2016 at 3:33 PM - danzca6: He said he came to the forum..I wish I could have helped him dial it in
Aug 26, 2016 at 3:33 PM - danzca6: Recommending Robo getting rid of abl is silly.
Aug 26, 2016 at 4:52 PM - Mike Kelly: they should at least have some way of manually tramming or a better bed calibration script like the ultimaker

Aug 26, 2016 at 5:02 PM - Toro1966: Hey guys - quick question on printing speed in S3D - I understand the main speed differences in the default printing speed box. But should x/y axis and z axis numbers be relative to the default prinitng speed? Or doesn't it matter?
