    Hello,

So now after resolving a recent problem and having to take the top assembly cover off of the ROBO 3D R 1 Plus as well as remove the blue filament, I am now faced with another problem, I can't seem to insert the filament all the way through the extruder.

I did try to extrude whatever was left from the previous filament but I think possibly some of that is stuck inside still...

I heated up the extruder and careful fed new filament into the top thumb screw hole area as before while using the giant gear to help grab it. The mechanism does grab the filament and pulls it in our out as expected but I would say about an inch down it stops and does not continue out the hot end. Seems as something is blocking it.

Any help would be great! :)

you can heat up the extruder, remove the nozzle, use a butane torch and burn out the jammed filament. Then reassemble (final tightening of the nozzle must be done hot) season the hotend and try to feed filament through.

Did you try straightening the end of the filament prior to inserting it? Sometimes a bit of a hook will hang it up trying to go all the way in.

Wow things might have to get hot up in here, with the butane torch.
Yes I actually straightened the filament before inserting it. I had to cut a couple pieces from a couple attempts because 2 inches from the end seemed to get a gouge or something in the filament.

UPDATE! I think its fixed! I see new filament! :) IMG_1257.JPG
I kept the extruder heated to 210 all this time and set the extrude to 100mm and hit the button a couple times and after a while I guess if decided to let go! Let it go, Let it goooooo!

Alright... now its time for a test print.
By all means I feel I am becoming more knowledgeable about this 3D pinting thing and I am actually enjoying it. Thanks to all you guys(and girls) helping me out I can see I chose the right product. :)

Sure, just be careful and use a simple one as one with Oxy can melt Ye Olde Brass Nozzele :)

Not saying how I know, but ... I know.

Haha personal experience, I can trust that. Plus we don't have a fire extinguisher.
Luckily enough I don't think I will be needing that.

I am doing a test print now of the built-in calibration box. :)

You should really get one. I have about 6 of them around my house and garage. Just saying....flames happen.

    Oh one last question!
Some models I have to use the paper glue stick to help it adhere to the bed. That's no biggie.
The problem is, the scraper tool is not enough to get all the residue off. As it does help get the thicker stuff off, but is there anything I can use to remove the remaining residue which looks like a thin layer of, well glue?
I do have some Goo Gone, but i'm afraid of making the surface too slippery. Any suggestions?

As you can see here. The print looks like a Success! But the left over glue I need to figure out how to clean off.

To remove the Elmer's Washable Glue Stick, I just heat the bed up and use a couple wet paper towels. But I also clean my bed after every print

I use hairspray, but maybe some Windex or simple green? Just keep the spray off the metal parts.

From that picture it looks like your first layer is too squished

    Too squished?
    What does that mean?

I use hairspray, and I do not clean the bed until it gets really bad. No issues at all.
When I clean I use windex and paper towels.

Between the wife and myself the printer is working all day and into the night every day.
