Solved R1: Y axis Belt holder piece

Hello,

I am very new to 3d Printing as I received my R1 about 5 days ago.

Have been trying to print circles properly without luck.
So today I removed the glass bed top and found the plastic piece that holds the belt on the Y+ side was loose. Upon further investigation I found it was quite broken.


I was wondering if anyone had an STL file made for this piece?

I am going to try to glue it for the time being.

ps: I have also been looking for a thread on here related to Robo general maintenance, if anyone has that I'd appreciate it.

Used some plastic epoxy to glue it back. Seems to be holding while it prints a new part.

Changed the thread title incase anyone else needs it.

 

My friend had a problem like this with one that came off the sales floor at my job.
I found that this is the best solution:

Remove, broken plastic that would hold nut in place.


Use string to tie back the piece that is still attached to the belt, tie it tight to hold tension.


with the string in place, next thing is to use the temporary fix to print out broken piece


after that is finished replace the nut and bolt inside the new plastic piece that was just printed.


Then contact support about the break, and enjoy printing.

 

I used small zip ties and they seem to work well to! Thanks for the fix Marquis!

 

Thanks for this, I just had this piece break. I contacted support and they are sending me a new part. They said they now make these out of nylon to prevent this issue in the future.

 

Nylon...interesting. I have been thinking about machining them out of aluminum. Always good to have a spare set on hand. Never now when you, or a forum buddy, might need one. My printer actually came with a spare set.
