    Oh... and it's useful when creating an archive of the image that you temporarily change the hostname of the printer (sudo raspi-config) to something generic like "robo-r2", make the image, then rename it back to your printer's serial number. That way, Robo will feel slightly better about this, I'd bet.

    I am not sure why they decided to key these to a machine name on their part since there are soooo many better ways to uniquely identify a RaspberryPi in the "wild" -- machine name is rather archaic.

    It's to make things easier for manufacturing the microSD stack and then to QA the line of new printers on the workbench or wherever these are being manufactured. It's also a kitting thing (final boxing).

    I have my image available, 1.1GB 7-zip compressed if someone needs. It's in absolute stock condition (not even powered up) so obviously with the original name. Not caring much though obviously, already changed it and I can always refer to it if needed.

    Seeing my "flashy-pythagoras" makes me wonder what kind of names others have though :p
