Anyone know what I should be looking for. I know almost nothing about LED's

I am trying to make the whole inside super bright with a switch or dimmer. so I can turn it off once I know everything is going smooth or I am finished taking pics.

I have a R1 and I only have two very small strips on the side 3 LED's each. I would like to have 12 or 24 inside the top.

    Anything good in here ?

Nope. I was buying some parts and decided to throw in the LED strip to make the shipping worth it. $15 isn't that bad but yeah.

Just put a switch on the line to disable them.

Is the a problem with adding too many things the draw power from the power supply.

The Robo 12 volt power supply has a maximum of 360 watts (ie 30 Amps). The big power users on the printer are the heated bed drawing around 140 watts and the extruder at about 40-50 watts.

The LED strips typically use 5050 or 3528 LED types.

The average power consumption of a 3528 strip is about 5W per meter, while 5050 is brighter but consumes more power at around 7.5W per meter.

So as long as you don't go overboard with the LED strips, the 12V power supply should not be a problem.

I would like to have an led right in front of the head pointed down, there is space for a fairly large one, then I dont have to use my flashlight every 5 seconds. I dont really care about lighting the case so much, the blue is cool as it matches my 3DConnexion Space navigator.

Here's what I did, I got the lights from RadioShack and wired them into the Arduino where the existing blue lights are. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

That is how I have my LED's hooked up currently, but I'm about to change them shortly.
