My bed will not got above 102. Even if i leave it for 20-30 mins. Still just 100-102.

Any ideas? Trying to do my first print with ABS.

If the extruder fan is running more than about 30% or your printer is in a cold/drafty place, the bed will struggle to hold temperature.

I have a e3d hot end so the fan on it was on. The other extruder fan was off.

Is 102 an acceptable bed temp for ABS? My infrared thermometer was saying the top of the bed was at 110.

102 is fine for ABS. With ~130W of power you won't get much above 100C

Thanks Mike. That makes since. What's the best adhesion method for ABS? I'm using painters tape for PLA with great success.

Hairspray works pretty well. I find ABS Slurry is without a doubt the strongest bond for ABS, but it's surface finish isn't as nice initially as with hairspray.

Im going to mix up some slurry tonight. How thick do you make it? Like a paste?

yeah like a paint is good. I find a little runny is best and gets a more even coat. Thicker is better for repairing prints.
