So I was very clumsy and while removing stubborn prints off of the painter's tape (boy, does it make for some stern grip), the hammer broke a piece off of the glass as it missed the xacto. I had some gorilla glue on hand, so I repaired it (the strong tan type that bubbles and expands)
    1. How long do you think this will last?
    2. Would there be any stress lines from such a crack that would enable more cracks in the future?

It broke cleanly with only 1 small chip coming off from the impact site, so I hope not. I realize that this probably only gives me time to find another bed. In the meantime, I'd like to be able to print. I planed the surface with a blade to remove the excess glue

This is a feature of borosilicate glass. It is more susceptible to what I call a brittle fracture as well as chiping. Great care is needed in dealing with removing stuck prints :)

    1) if you cover the bed with a thin sheet of plate glass from a local hardware store cut to the right size it will probably last a long time
    2) unknown. If you cover it as I described in 1) it wouldn't matter much.

Ok. I'll try the plate glass first since it's the cheapest. Thanks!

I bought six of them just in case and it's been working well! I've been printing PLA on cold blue tape
