Looking to find out where to get a new small ribbon cable for my C2. Not sure what the part is called. It connects the raspberry pi to the display.

    Is the existing cable damaged?

26 pin ribbon cable I am pretty sure, but I am not sure I remember if both ends are female or not.

Yes. The end tore off. I counted the pins. There are 15. May be a raspberry pi flat ribbon cable?

That should be the one, I popped off my front cover and there is indeed a 26-pin ribbon cable attached there. The BAD part is that it is NOT connected like a normal ribbon cable and in fact is TWO ribbon cables (which is an odd way to do this).

Here is the other end on the PI:

Like I said and odd way to do that rather than use one cable.

BTW: While you are in there you should add a camera (I did) it is not hard.

...and (for what it is worth) I just don't have that cable at all :)
Mine totally works only from the Pi GPIO (not sure if that is evident from the pictures or not)

Thanks:) I’ll look into adding a camera later.

For now, I need the raspberry pi flex cable that is 1/2” in wide. I ordered a cable from Amazon- too wide and different pins. I need the one in the picture on the left. The one on the right won’t work:( I’m completely new to all this.

    Fixing the problem:

Try reseating the flat cable into the adapter like this:

    Adapter
    adapter-touch-screen.jpg

Flat cable seated into adapter, but not secured
    hdmi-cable-insert.jpg

Flat cable secured in the adapter

    OR

Try ordering this replacement from Amazon.com

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M596VOC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    OR

Contact Robo tech support if your printer is still under warranty.

    Your choice!

They may (or very well MAY NOT) actually have parts, but worth a call if you are under warranty

    Hi there,

    Thanks for helping.

The end of the ribbon with the pins tore off, so I’ll go ahead and order the part you recommended from Amazon. I also reached out to Robo.

    Good, keep them honest :)
They need to handle warranty items.

I had to order one for myself. I had taken apart my C2 printer in order to get the photos taken. Almost didn't get the C2 printer working once I placed the cable back into the touch screen.

Did you get your printer to work? Got the cable today:) It’s the correct width. Thanks for your help! I almost went into my classroom to work in my C2. Need a break from working on it. Have replaced main board, display, and now cable.

Yes it is working, however, the next time I remove the front cover, it probably will break.
So, I now have the fix on hand waiting for that to happen.

    Update:
I replaced the HDMI cable to the touchscreen using the previously posted part link. Two recommendations based on my experience:

    1) the replacement part from Amazon is slightly shorter than the original cable. So, attach the touchscreen end of the cable when you are closing up the C2 printer.
    2) use a small screwdriver to temporarily lift the saddle cover nearest the HDMI cable so as to give additional clearance as you re-seat the front cover. Pull the screwdriver away once the HDMI cable clears the saddle cover and then snap the front cover into place.

    An alternative method for #2:
Lift the saddle cover for around an 1/8 of an inch (2-3 mm), close the front cover 90% (until the HDMI cable end clears the saddle). Then re-seat the saddle cover and finish snapping the front cover in place.
