Solved can someone please tell me where to go to get firmware update for lead screw upgrade

i'm trying to upgrade my lead screws on my robo r1 but I don't know where to go to download the firmware update for the new lead screws or where to put it when i get it

do i use robo r1 + v2 or robo r1 original 3.0 or the beta
and what is 1.6.9 and 1.6.10
and do i use all three files the
arduino files for firmware customization
hex file for easy uploading with mattercontrol
the lead screw upgrade firmware
i don't know what to do with all files

There are multiple methods to use. All you do is pick one and run with it.

 

If you have an R1 and you have auto bed leveling that you are now adding the new leadscrews from Robo then essentially you have the makings of an R1+ as far as firmware is concerned. I would not use the R1+V2 firmware. The leadscrew upgrade firmware http://download.robo3d.com/firmware/R1/ROBO3D_LEADSCREW_V1.zip is what you should start with.

The warning about the version of arduino is that they have broken one piece of the old firmwares with the newer version of arduino. Nothing to concern yourself with. Just a rename of a struct definition in the firmware will fix it or download arduino version 1.6.9. You can see my comments at the bottom of the firmware page describing the work around if you just want to do the renaming method (http://guide.robo3d.com/Wiki/ROBO_3D_Firmware_Release_Notes). Need anything else just ask.

I would not just pick one and go with it though. Could make for headaches if you try downloading the beta version and apply it to the robo after the leadscrew upgrade.

where do i add the arduino 1.6.9
I know that this should be simple but I have had a stroke 3 weeks ago and my mind is not too good right now I had started on this project about 4 weeks ago then had a dam stroke

 

I have a
robo r1 not a beta and not a plus
( though I did buy my grandson a plus )

 

WOW! Sorry to hear about that. Hope that you are on the path to recovery and get well soon. The 1.6.9 version of arduino can be downloaded from here http://arduino.cc/download_handler.php?f=/arduino-1.6.9-windows.exe. Install that onto you PC.

yeah having a stroke sucks and i'm going crazy without my printer it gives me something to do while I recover
I know I shouldn't be asking for help at this time because I have to ask for things that should be simple but I cant do much else right now
