    That is super cool..... though I find the... um.... irregular extrusion rate somehow slightly squicky/obscene. I think I've been on the internet too long.

    PLA filament sticks real good if heated at the end and applied to another piece. I am wondering if it's possible to just paise the printer after printing with one filament and while paused change the filament to another and heat it up and apply to the existing filament and continue printing . As long as the filament gets stl tick together, it should feed as one.

    Yes you can do this peter. I have seen it done printed in different layers. If you pauses a print and move the extruder with the computer, not by hand, then when you unpause it will return to where it left off.

    Yeah Richrap does this really well and put together a little filament fuser that was pretty nifty.

    The hotend in the video is v6 which is due out in a few months. As to how it does what it does, it's all speculation at this point.

    One interesting thing is you can clearly see that the nozzle is at a right angle to the heat sink... very interesting.
