    Hi
I was happy with Cura for my prints, I upgraded to Cura 14.03 as it suggested it, and I'm disappointed :(
No problem with 3D model placing and manipulations, but when you click on "print" impossible to manually put on hotend, only movements are allowed. So how do you do if you want to change filament ?...
Temp curves are very small and a big useless text area replaces usefull informations like printing time or layer height.
    Is it a setting I didn't find ?
    Who uses 14.03 here ?
    Thanks

NOticed the same sorta thing it almost appeared to me like a bug as my screen did not appear even to look right. My experience was a test run as I usually do what R. Irwin does I slice in Cura and print in repetier

    Yes why not...
Why did you choose to use 2 sotwares instead of only Cura ?

For me, in Cura when I press Print, it will not connect to the Robo. It it looking for it in the correct port but nothing ever happens.

I started with repetier and got use to its operations and was told Cure sliced better I tired it and they were right but the printer interface was extremely poor from the outset in comparison I then did the upgrade and it got worse

I have a decent process and it leads me to have other options as well
    • I get my stl either through my own design or an online source
    • I run it through the netfabb free software to clean up
    • I slice it in Cura to get Gcode
    From here I can
    • try to print from Cura
    • try to print from Repetier
    • dump gcode to SD card on LCD and print from there
from the Gcode I have options

thinking about doing the same the only benefit I found was the latest version let you adjust support params which is what I was looking for in previous versions CURE created very very strong support almost to the point of being not removable LOL

Yes. I did some in nylon. I hate support. However, in the expert settings portion of Cura, you can change the support parameters to make it an easier removal.

yeah but not in earlier versions at least not in the version I had this one let you change the pattern/style to lines which was key I could not do that before but maybe an version between what I had and the latest exists not sure

Which it desperately needed. I printed some object'de art trying to use supports with it... had to toss them since the supports were essentially unremoveable. I have not yet tried that version and sounds like I will not :)
