Does anyone have any good settings for using Cura 2.3.0 ?

Would gcode settings from previous revisions be compatible?

The startup GCode would be fine I imagine. Can't speak for the other settings.
I have used it with the C2.

Well, that was an epic fail, the temperatures reached set point before the print and then just started cooling.....

    Any suggestions?

What exactly is your start up gcode in Cura? Please cut and paste it here in it's entirety.

A lot of stuff there is just redundant and unnecessary, let's try this:
    Code:
    G21 ;metric values
    G90 ;absolute positioning
M82 ;set extruder to absolute mode
G28 ;move X/Y/Z to min endstops
M565 Z-1.0 ;set Z-Offset in mm (may need adjusting for your specific printer)
    G29 ;run auto-level routine
G92 E0 ;zero the extruded length
G190 S{print_bed_temperature) ;set bed temperature and wait
G109 S{print_temperature} ;set extruder temperature and wait
    ;put printing message on LCD
    M 117 Printing...
