A fun project that I thought I'd share. It is a printed dinosaur pull toy that, when pulled, will swing it's arms and sway it's segmented tail back and forth. I started by drawing it in CAD (side removed to show internals): And then I started printing out the parts. I used grass green PLA for the body. The center cavity and the two outer panels friction fit together with pegs: And then the internals were printed in white PLA: The drive pulley from the wheels to the inside was supposed to be a rubber band, but that wasn't working so I drew up a pulley and printed it in yellow ninjaflex: Next I ran elastic cord and steel wire through the tail segments. This is what makes the tail sway back and forth as the linkages are moved. And that about wraps up how it is put together. Here's a video of it working: I can put the files up on thingiverse if anyone wants.
