Do you watch your prints being made?

I don't know why but I am completely mesmerized watching this thing print. I can't believe that I am watching something be made that came from my mind and into a CAD program and is now in my hands.

Do any of you still watch your prints? My wife said my face was 6" away from the print bed and I had a huge s--t eating grin on my face.

I watch the first few layers, but I'm too old or perhaps too young to be plastered in front of the Robo for more than an hour..

First couple of layers then walk away and forget about it. Otherwise it's about as exciting as watching grass grow.

I used to watch it a lot more often... way back when I first got it, at least I think I remember that :).
Now I watch the first layer and that's about it.

I find if it watch it my robo gets performance anxiety and will no doubt fail. But if I walk away ya da print success lol. I watch the first maybe 3-5 minutes then fire up the other printers then onto my other hobbies

My printers are behind my work desk so I do more listening than watching.

The mesmerizing factor hasn't worn off yet. It's quite accidental. I will want to watch a particular part print or start and three hours later, Here I am!

I am pretty new to this still, so I'm pretty amazed watching it all happen. I tell my wife it's all magic. :D

If you guys really sit and watch and want some real entertainment, buy a second 3D printer and make sure it is a delta printer. Seeing the head move up and down and swing around all over the place is much more interesting than seeing a cartesian printer move back and forth.

That is awesome. Seems like it would be prone to breakdowns at the pivot joints

LMAO, fair enough. Just watching it makes me think I'd need a printer specifically to make parts for it

I love to watch the deltas and the bigger ones are awe inspiring... but all the issues I have had/seen/heard about with RepRap style ... I'd have to say "nope" to maintaining one of those puppies :)
