I've scoured the forums and can't find any information on the cold section for a dual bowden setup. I have however found excellent directions for upgrading the stock Robo to the dual E3D hotends put together by @Mike Kelly mentioning a possible release of the cold section at a later date.

Does anyone have any information on this? Or can point me in the right direction? I've dug into some pictures of other setups on here and have considered starting with something like this RepRap bowden cold section.

    Thanks in advance :)

I haven't been happy with the dual EZStruders I've been using, which is why I haven't released that cold end design.

That one you linked looks pretty nice.

Lately I've been suggesting people use Greg's Wade Extruder Reloaded http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:18379

You just need to figure out a way to mount them then, You could do something as simple as just drilling a few holes to your case and bolting it down. I like the groove mount bowden adapters: http://www.filastruder.com/collecti...essories/products/groove-mount-bowden-adaptor

There's other options as well. If you have any of the PTC fittings that come with E3D bowden kits I made an adapter plate that those thread right into:

Which you'd then mount like this:

I also have a slightly different version that does not have any thread spots but a large opening:

Great information Mike and thank you. This is an excellent starting point for me. Not sure which direction I will be going with the dual extruder hot end but leaning towards trying out the Chimera or Cyclops. Ultimately though I want the ability to print support so will probably need two nozzles for temp control.

I'll feel better once I can get them set up in CAD but unfortunately work doesn't let me take NX home with me :-(

Next time I'll post to the correct thread about the dual extrusion or troubleshooting. Sorry but I'm new to this forum etiquette.

Unless you're using PVA both materials will use the same basic temp. I much prefer the cyclops after spending time with both.

I like the fact PVA is water soluble as opposed to using the Limonene for HIPSS, but from what I understand HIPSS is much stronger and more closely related to ABS, so with that in mind I'll move forward with the Cyclops :) I'm going to start working on the conversions this weekend hopefully and post some pics / models.

I've already downloaded your Cyclops and Chimera X-carriage from thingverse :)

I suggest the legends pack if you ever do decide to try PVA. Apparently it likes to print around 160-180C.

I bought a roll but I'm honestly pretty scared to use it. Everything I've heard about PVA makes it seem like the devil material. Plus it's like twice as expensive as HIPS.

I tend not to use limonene to dissolve off the hips but rather manually remove it. Takes less time and breaks away nicely. Limonene is also very safe, you can even eat it.
