    Yep. Broken.
    Step one for messing with the extruder bits is to remove the thermistor and heater core (the bits with wires).

    They are tricky little bits :)
    Actually the wires on the heater core are very easy to break too...
    (trust me)

    Not really sure what I'm supposed to do now. The thermistor didn't seem like it would even fit into this new heater block anyway. I barely tried and it resulted in it's breaking. Seems like ordering new heater cores was a waste of time and effort.

    Every time I attempt to fix something on the printer it gets broken worse.

    You can replace the hotend. The hexagon is not very expensive.

    Alternatively you can find a thermistor that matches that heater block.

    Learning to work on these machines takes a bit of practice. Take heart and just dont make the same mistake twice.

    You can get a replacement hexagon from Amazon for about $40, but if you want it quick it will cost closer to what an E3D costs ($63).
    @Printed Solid has the E3D for $72: https://printedsolid.com/collections/accessories-and-upgrades/products/e3d-hot-end-kit-v6

    If you are still under whatever warranty Robo provided with the refurb units I would be on the horn with them to get this sorted out.

    They may have the hexagon cheaper as well (if you are out of warranty). They have more available than what is listed on their parts page, but you need to call them to sort that out.

    Robo3d is sending me out a new hexagon hot end with my warranty. Hopefully I can get it installed without breaking something new :confused:

    I had this issue with my hex end and replaced with a E3D end and now working fine. Also another thing that took me a while was setting the Z-offset to get it just right. When you get the system running send a picture of the first layer being laid down to see if the filament is grinding on the build plate.
    Mine was grinding on first layer and could fail 1 or 2 hours in. Found that .5mm offset fixed this.
