I homed all while x was on y and y was on x. X didnt move, Y moved to home position but was stuttering a bit at the end.
I hooked them up normal again, X didnt move. Y moved home normal, Z moved home normal. If i hit home for just X it only moves about 10 at a time to the right. The other 2 axis home just fine.

That is exactly what we wanted to see.
With the X Switch swapped for Y now X still shows triggered and Y does not. So, the switch or wires are absolutely NOT at fault. The RAMPS is the problem

I was hoping for the switch. That is a brand new RAMPS.

If the M119 reports the Y as triggered when you switched the X and Y at the board then the switch (or wires) has to be the problem.
    Good work.

Are RAMPs usually so quick to go bad? I haven't even used this RAMPS to do a print yet. I went ahead and ordered 2 more from another supplier. Thanks for your help.

Between 3 printers and three years I have lost one from old age and another that came in bad as a spare.

If the wiring and switches all checked out good then the RAMPS is all that is left. I agree that is a chunk of bad luck, but that is why I wanted you to be sure the switches and wires were OK first. Usually it is the switch or a bad connection in the wires.

Well since I had a few extra boards laying around lol, I decided to swap one. I did the m119 and guess what. Same damn thing. X is triggered and the other 2 open.

    Make any sense to you?

Only if the switch or the wires are bad.
As long as you were center of the print bed X should not be triggered.

If you manually trip the switch and hold it does the M119 report it different?

It is centered on the print bed. Open it reads triggered, with me holding it in, it reads triggered.

Bad switch or wires would have moved the problem when you swapped X for Y. Instead:

So the problem did NOT move. -> Bad RAMPS is all that is left.

Think about it.. if the X switch were bad and you swapped X for Y then the Y should have always been reporting triggered.
Instead the X still reported triggered. All that is left is the RAMPS.

Is there some sort of reset on these things? I see one on the ramps and the ardiuno board. I hooked up another ramps but when I turned on the machine I saw some smoke so I cut it off. Now only the blue LED's and the power supply comes on. Nothing else.

I'm so sick of this damn thing.
