I recently began having this issue with every print! I tried reflashing the firmware with the hex file through matter control and I have checked all the connections. This started after the Z axis min switch didn't cause a stop when it hit the bed and kept going. I had to cut power and redo the Z axis switches and nuts. I just don't know what else to check. It heats, Homes , and levels fine.

This error has been much addressed if you search the forum, but it boils down to a thermistor failure.
It is usually the thermistor is:
    1) phyically loose and moving around when the extruder moves around which causes the temperature to move around and the firmware to kill it.
    2) cracked or damaged and this will also cause the temperature to fluctuate when the extruder moves and the thermistor vibrates.
    3) There is a loose wire (or a bad connection) between the hotend and the RAMPS board.

Thanks. I Have checked connections on Ramps and at the extruder/hotend. I will go ahead and order a new thermistor.

    They are cheap :)
If you have an R1 then make sure the rubber boot that holds the thermistor in place is secure and not moving around/loose.
The R1+ has a set screw that holds the thermistor in the heater block.

I replaced the thermistor and tested again. I also tried a different print. The print stops in the same spot each time now, on the first time around on the first layer. I rechecked the connectors by the hotend/extruder and also at the Ramps board. I'm not finding a thermistor problem. I also heated up the hotend and moved the wires around for a bit while watching the temps in the terminal. I never saw a temp drop. Please help.

do you have a fan blowing air on the hotend ? caused me that problem (temperature dropped to low and print failed) also try and re-tighten the heater cartridge (if you are using a E3D hot-end)

Yes, but I always have. I think the fan for cooling the ramps board was going bad. Getting ready to retest now after replacing that.

That is always a problem and hard to diagnose because it causes just general 'weird' stuff

I just finally got a print out of it. After replacing the ramps fan it got further but still failed. Then I turned off the parts fan and it printed. Thanks guys.
