Answered First Layer Extrusion

    I am having a problem with extruding the first layer. When the printhead is off of the print bed (5 cm or so) it will extrude no problem, when i go to print the nozzle just carves through the glue stick I use for a release agent (it has worked over 500 times so its not the problem). I have changed the first layer height but to no avail. Is the auto leveling function the problem or something else I have missed.

    Edit: I have cleaned it out thoroughly several times.

    Solution worked well, could it be that when I updated matter control the changes were reset to default? That was when I noticed the errors.

    Possibly. The startup GCode is all done in the slicer (MatterControl in your case) so if that got reset it would make sense.
    I don't use MC so I can't really comment in detail on it :)
