FreeCad users... help!

Hello
Just wanted to ask any of you using freeCad. Has anyone found a great training site for this software?
I have just started using this software and mostly learning by using the tutorials I have found online... but it seems like every version of the software has differences that don't match the instructions/training in the tutorial because it was made with x.X version.

I am wondering why you chose freeCAD over Sketchup? I'm asking because I'm still trying to find the right software for myself. I'm wanting to do functional part designs. I'm looking for an affordable 3D software that I can design functional parts that will snap or bolt together perfectly. Sketchup is ok but I'm not sure if it is best suited for what I'm doing.

 

I wish i could give you a definitive answer to your question JDM but I am still discovering whats available for myself. I 'm guessing it will take time and experience to answer...
