OK, a start at least

Printed with WoodFill (because why the heck not?!)
Picture of after supports removed and a photo of it in progress with supports (duh) in place.

Will either buy a small pot or print one, and some potting soil and...

 

I think I'm going to have to do that one. I did this bust at full build volume in woodfill as well. (on the ultimaker. 0.8mm nozzle))
Stained it and laquered. It may be my favorite print so far.

But not with Repetier. Simplify3D is all I use any longer and it has supports that just work.
You never have to even think about it, just toggle the checkbox and forget it. When done they will peel right off.

 

If supports had not become the 800 lb Gorilla for us, I'd still be using Reptier Host. I had dozens of well tuned profiles for whatever we needed to do and they worked. Sadly, that became an issue. In desperation I tried that and never went back.

 

Not yet. I am going to add the @Mike Kelly auto-level mod at some point, but for now it is a kickstarter version with the replacement bed added. No auto-level goodness, yet. In addition to laying down painters tape, I got decent at getting it leveled (thanks to @tesseract). You don't have to do it often (thank God).

 

I also recommend simplify if you don't mind paying.
