and if so, how did you do it?

and why would it say there is an update to begin with? it seems older than what was shipped with my R2...

    Installed: 1.3.3
    Available: 1.3.2

Robo points to their own repository for OctoPrint not the actual OctoPrint, and they messed up the messaging. Besides that, the current OctoPrint release is 1.3.4 but since you can't repoint its origin we are one revision behind.

They seem to have messed up their site as well; can't get to the changelogs or the home page.

Interesting, roboOS v1.8.0 from three days ago. (The site's back up at least.) Given that there's a "file system overhaul", it might be worthwhile saving off your uploaded files since they've been known to lose those on upgrades.

Not necessary, you lose nothing, all your files remain intact. They are just changing the underlying display mask.

I've disabled the "software updater" plugin to get rid of the notification, things are provided as RoboOS updates anyway.
