I recently had to order a new heated bed after cracking mine trying to get a print off. The problem is the bed that I ordered has completely different connectors on the wires than my original heated bed. I have the ROBO R1 not the R1 plus just the R1. Is there a wiring diagram or something for wiring it up or what? Before I ordered it I emailed ROBO 3D and they said it should work.

If you have an older R1 (before they altered the wiring) it will be different connections.
Pictures of the connectors you have and what they sent you will help.

Yeah my wiring is different. My wires are held in with screws to the ramps board. But I will send a picture

The two with the red connectors on them are the heater and they will go to D8. the other two with the white connector are for the thermistor. Does that clear it up for you?

It doesn't matter which ones go where as far as the heater goes does it because it is a semiconductor?

The heater is essentially a big resistor :)
    Not polarity sensitive

    The thermistor IS a resistor,
    Not polarity sensitive.

So as long as you put the heater where it belongs and the thermistor where it belongs you are good.

I am having the same issue... mostly. the only question I have is how to get the heater connectors into the screw terminals? the ends are too big to fit.

Please start a trouble shooting thread for your issue, include as much detail and photos as you can. It sounds like you havent stripped the insulation off the wires to insert into the board connections, but there isn't enough information to really call that an informed diagnosis :)

Hello, to elaborate on my story I ordered a new print bed after my original broke. The previous cable was a round grey cord and the new one is a flat black ribbon. This is my first time having an issue with my R1 so any help is appreciated.

This is the underside of my printer...

Here are the two ends of the heat bed's connectors that are too big to fit in the blue screw terminals found in the 2nd picture...

not sure how to make the new connectors fit. here are the old ones...

Based on the diagram from the previous post I was able to determine where the cables belong I just need the 2 red ones to fit... any tips will be appreciated.

hi there, loosen the screw hold downs a bit more and gently push the ribbon cable connectors into place where your old heatbed wires were. Its a snug fit but I promise they do fit. Just gentle is the key, you dont want to break the connector :D
