    Hi,

I'm Sander and live in the Netherlands. Just bought a second hand Robo 3D printer 1.5 weeks ago. The first owner didn't have time to play with it....at least that was what he was telling me. I think he couldn't get the machine working like it should work. I spend some time on tweaking it a little and resulted in the following parts I've ordered to get everything like it should be:

    - 2 new and STRAIGHT x-axis rods (ordered but still waiting on them)
    - upgraded heated bed kit (ordered and waiting on it, seems it can take a week of 4-6 till it arrive from what I read....be patient...:) )
    - Y-axis bracket left and right (printed from thingiverse and installed)
    - RoboRamps 40mm fan mount(printed from thingiverse and installed) to cool things down (I ordered the right parts that solve the problem for overheating the polyfuse but the polyfuse isn't a regular thing in the Netherlands so that part is in backorder)
    - E3Dv6 hotend (assembled and installed) Also did an PID autotune and changed everything in firmware.

So my machine is in a real makeover and with all I did untill today it is looking very good. I can't wait untill the new heated bed is in and to remove those "old rails" setup, that looks like a huge improvement in printing results later on.

Let me thank everybody that helped me with all the improvements based on your own experience with the Robo3D, just reading the forum helped me a lot with solving allmost everything "on my own". I'll hope that I can help other people in the future also.

    Sander

    printing from Amersfoort!

I have problems with cooling the arduino. Just installed a 80 mm fan beneath it and now my "bigger" prints do stop later than before my upgrade but i still can't finish the bigger prints.

Are more of you having these issues in our country? It's summer but not that hot. .

What temp are you trying to keep the bed at? Do your yellow polyfuses have any markings on them to indicate their rating(1100, 1400, etc)?

Also try printing lifter feet to get better airflow underneath. Blowing hot air on the polyfuses won't work very well

No problems overhere after installing a 40mm fan above the polyfuses.

I was not aware of the polyfuses beƫing the parts causing the shut down. My fan was therefore not positioned right. The polyfuses were at the side of the fan. now i've moved the fan with the blades right above the polyfuses. at these moment running a new testprint.

@ Mike Kelly: I'm printing now with bed starting 75c and after first layer 70. Nozzle 230 and 210. i've printed and used lifters from thingiverse to lift the printer +- 25 mm. my fan has about 10 mm free space beneath it.

two pictures of my fan installed below. thanks so far for the tips. I'll let you know if my print finally ends wel.

and dutch people, let's stay connected :)
