I've got a major issue with my R1+.

I keep getting a hardware error when printing with a temp over 230. The error is that the temp dropped below cutoff.

I upgraded to the E3D V6 thinking that the heating element and such would maintain the temp better but no luck. Always on the 3rd layer or so it stops dead in its tracks and gives the same error.

What's the freekin deal with this thing? I need to print in PETG asap and I'm not making any progress so help!!

Now, that said you may have other issues, but if the parts cooling fan is part of that issue then upgrading to the 40w core will fix it.
Alternatively you need to make sure the parts fan is only blowing air on the printed parts... not the nozzle. With only a 25w heater the parts fan can give you grief if you did not print a new mount for it (hexagon fan mount will not work).
