My first couple of prints did not complete, but the bottom layers were nice and solid. Since then, I have completed a few of the sample prints, but the bottom layers are thin and uneven.
Can one of you with more experience give me some tips? I'd rather not try to switch any hardware at this point, because I may end up returning it if I can't get a decent print with it as stock. Thanks in advance.

Uninstall mattercontrol, then delete the mattercontrol folder from the Local aka %localappdata% folder then reinstall.

I'd need to see a picture of the print issues to know more of what's happening.

That didn't make any difference, but it did remind me that c:\program files\MatterControl already existed, so I might try something like absoluteuninstaller to get rid of everything. I'm attaching a few photos of the problem.

One of the earliest prints is the little shuttle. The bottom is nice and solid. I don't know what happened, but all my recent prints are incomplete on the bottom, and have holes, along with the pillowing in the top surface.

You're too high. Disable automatic print leveling and define a z offset in your slicer settings.

That starter filament is a bit tricky. Try increasing your number of solid top layers.
