Hey all I've been looking for non doctored prints coming of an Robo3d R2 but can't seem to find any? Find it a little weird this close to launch they aren't showing off models left and right. Can anyone point me to them?

havent seen any models. The C2 was the same way, you can see those pictures from users on the forum. I dont think I'd expect much more quality from the R2, about the same since its just a larger version with a heatbed... I'm making assumptions mind you :D

They have generally always been that way pre-launch.

You can't print anything on a printer that doesn't exist yet. :D

I just assumed the pre production printers would of had tons of prints to show us the quality... How would you compare the print quality of the R1 as to the Prusa I3 MK2 just looking for a new printer need users input

@Geof has a MK2 and I think @danzca6 has one too. They both rave, but let them tell you about it themselves.

The R1+ is going to be competitive with that.

My mk2 is a fantastic machine. The r1+ at the stage mine is holds its own as well. Both good machines depends on your needs and wants to tinker or not.

The MK2 stock is generally going to print metaphorical circles around the R1 (any generation) stock.

It's not really a fair comparison, as the MK2 is a late 2016 design while all of the R1* printers are derivatives of a circa 2012 design with very minor mechanical upgrades up until 2015 (and zero upgrades to the electronics/firmware).

There's just no real comparison between the MK2 and the R1 variants. The R1 will always be left in the dust unless you spend a bunch of money upgrading it to bring it to the MK2's level on the electronics, sensor and hotend portions.

What about the R2 any significant improvements that'll bring it closer to MK2. Looking to not tinker so much :)

Id have to disagree :). Mesh bed leveling (thanks to @WheresWaldo ) equals the playing field with mk2s pinda probe, free upgrade. The only real functional difference to note between the two is the e3dv6.

The auto correct all axis only really matters if you build it wrong, r1s dont have that issue. :D

The r2 is a gantry style machine.

These machines typically have a better accuracy and speed. I dont know about the r2 for sure, nobody does because nobody has one.

The mk2 is cartesan like the r1 and r1+.

Comparing r2 to mk2 is apples to oranges :D

That would be the best route to go if the machine fits your needs/wants.

I wish we had more information to give you on it but sadly none of us users will see one before anyone else. Maybe check out their social media accounts. I believe they are fairly active and could answer some of your questions :)

I think their chat support wouldnt have that info. More the bigwigs, media persons and higher ups, know what i mean ? Tge person on the end of chat support is most likely more of a call center

No MK2 for me. I still just have the R1. Money is being spent on other things right now, but someday I will get one.

That is why I emphasized "stock" comparisons.

Also, don't discount the heated bed differences, or did you forget about the R1 using an undersized heater with terrible performance?

LOL at the idea of the R1s not having build issues, given the history of posts on these forums where things weren't tightened or aligned properly at the factory (though it's easy to ignore that given how bad the search function is at finding things).
