internal lighting for the R2

This may be an odd request but the lighting in the R2 unit requires a lot of external light for the camera to show what is happening clearly. I run the printer remotely and need to leave a light on in the room the printer is located in. Since the light is above various shadows are caused and not a particularly good solution.

I had a look under the covers for a 12V pick up so that I could install a LED light strip. Only obvious contender was the main fan wires. But not sure if there were 5V or 12V. Anyone have any ideas?
